Faangs – Teeth Out

FAANGS’ latest single “I DON’T CARE” earned the 22-year-old a fresh round of acclaim, further highlighting her as an essential new talent with a devil-may-care attitude and the distinction to live up to her eye-catching image. An array of big names have also engaged with her talent, having co-written the Ashnikko / Grimes collab “Cry”, delivered debauched rhymes to Felix Jaehn’s “SICKO”, and hit it off with Rico Nasty during sessions for “Own It”.

Now the Los Angeles-based, Canadian artist takes a bite out of pop culture as she shares her new 13-track project TEETH OUT along with the new single “DON’T BLAME ME”. Both releases are out now via TEETH OUT/Sony Music Germany/RCA Records.

On TEETH OUT, FAANGS embodies and embraces conflicts and contradictions – a stance that made its previously revealed tracks “RELAPSE”, “I DON’T CARE”, “I’M A LITTLE” and “HUH” essential listening. Her strikingly futuristic music is a blend of influences that find the common ground between trap, pop and rock star attitude,  while her high/low fashion sense reinforces her neon-and-dirt sensibility; slicked-back hair and an Yves Saint Laurent suit, standing in front of a car on fire, or in a marble mansion with her go-go boots parked on the table.

FAANGS says, “This project is a combination of two things. I’m saying ‘Don’t fuck with me,’ and at the same time, I’m telling you ‘I’m fucked up in a broken way.’ Those are the two walls I had to put up, and take down, to create the world I wanted to make. There are so many days when you doubt yourself, you want to give up – but then you strut into a club and get your shit going. We all have both of those things in us, and I’m all about that juxtaposition.”

FAANGS keeps up that unpredictable streak on “DON’T BLAME ME”, spitting her furious flow throughout much of the track but also keeping everyone guessing by adding some seriously sleek vocals. It’s almost an alternative to alt-pop, as the track sets pounding trap beats to the sweeter harmonic tone of the piano – a world away from the usual shimmering synths and quirky drum patterns.

Conceptually, “DON’T BLAME ME” feels like a continuation of “I DON’T CARE”. Whereas that track revelled in still suffering from the night before, “DON’T BLAME ME” suggests that someone wants her to make amends for the previous evening’s craziness. But FAANGS being FAANGS, that’s just not going to happen.

FAANGS says, “”DON’T BLAME ME” is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever made. It’s got this cheeky energy, it’s definitely THAT song to turn up and feel like a bad bitch to!’

The sole writer of the “DON’T BLAME ME” lyrics, FAANGS co-wrote its music with the track’s producers Digital Farm Animals (Anne-Marie, Louis Tomlinson) and the Grammy-nominated The Invisible Men (Charli XCX, Madison Beer).

Putting the most confrontational elements of hip-hop, alt-pop and rock into one snarling package, FAANGS makes tracks which feel like a soundtrack for the dreamers, outsiders and misfits who populate Los Angeles’ dark undercurrent. The dominant theme is party excess, but it’s the result of dedicated hard work: a long journey of endless sessions, songwriting experimentation and constantly hustling to find that big break.

TEETH OUT track list:

  1. “RELAPSE”
  2. “DON’T BLAME ME”
  3. “THE BUZZ”
  4. “DIAMOND BITCH”
  5. “NIGHTMARE”
  6. “TEETH OUT”
  7. “ISN’T IT SAD”
  8. “HUH”
  9. “HOUDINI”
  10. “LONELY”
  11. “IT’S BAD”
  12. “I DON’T CARE”
  13. “I’M A LITTLE”

Lindsey Stirling’s Official Music Video – Masquerade

Ahead of this weekend’s official launch of her cross-country headlining Artemis U.S. Tour, platinum-selling electronic artist, violinist, and multi-talented entertainer Lindsey Stirling, known all over the world for her unique, futuristic violin-driven electronic music and exquisite live show, has gifted fans with a new music video for the song “Masquerade,” off her latest chart-topping studio album Artemis. Inspired by early 20th century silent films, the new visual for the instrumental track was filmed at The Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles and co-directed by Stirling and Stephen Mallett (Pentatonix, Logic, CHVRCHES). Press here to watch.

“While I was writing the song ‘Masquerade,’ I knew immediately that it would be about a wealthy over-the-top aristocratic woman,” shares Stirling. “The song has such a comedic feel to it, which made the music video really, really fun to plan and make.”

The Artemis U.S. Tour marks the first time Stirling will be performing the tracks off Artemis as well as her current single “Lose You Now” in front of an American audience. The 35-date outing, featuring special guest electro-pop artist Kiesza, kicks off this Saturday, July 3rd in Kansas City, MO and will stop in most major markets across the country including New York City (August 2nd at the Beacon Theatre), Los Angeles (August 30th at the Microsoft Theater), Denver (July 7th at Red Rocks Amphitheatre), Dallas, Houston, Nashville, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, and many others, before wrapping September 10th in Milwaukee at Summerfest. See below for full list of tour dates. Stirling has also launched a national contest with Fandiem for the ultimate VIP experience at her San Diego show on August 31st. The winner will receive roundtrip airfare for two plus two-night hotel stay, premium reserved seats in the first 8 rows, meet & greet photo opportunity with Lindsey, lunch at Lindsey’s favorite restaurant, merch, and more, along with a 45-minute helicopter tour of San Diego courtesy of Imagine Jets. Proceeds from entry donations will support Stirling’s nonprofit charity outreach program The Upside Fund, helping families and individuals affected by Covid-19. Press here to enter.

“Lose You Now,” Stirling’s emotive pop hit about loss and grief with artist, producer, and songwriter Mako, stems from the instrumental-only track “Guardian” off her Artemis album. Since its release earlier this year, “Lose You Now” (BMG) has amassed over 9 million global streams, including over 3 million views on the song’s beautifully moving music video, as well as featured placements on American Idol and “Train Tracks” on SiriusXM The Pulse. Press here to watch the official music video for “Lose You Now.” The duo also issued an acoustic version of the song this spring, stripping it down to just piano and a full string accompaniment – Press here to listen to “Lose You Now (Acoustic).”

Artemis, Stirling’s fifth studio album released September 2019 via BMG, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and remained on the chart for 15 combined weeks. The 13-track album, which has racked up over 200 million total global streams, features the singles “Underground,” “Artemis,” “Sleepwalking,” “Between Twilight” and “The Upside” featuring Elle King along with “Love Goes On and On” featuring Amy LeeArtemis has also been turned into a successful comic book series, with the sixth edition coming this summer. Press here to listen to Artemis and press here for info on the comic books.

TCTS RELEASES NEW SINGLE “BETTER WITHOUT YOU” FEATURING GLOWIE

TCTS – Better Without You

Igniting 100 million-plus worldwide streams and garnering acclaim from E! News and many more, TCTS uncovers a new single entitled “Better Without You” featuring Glowie today. Get the song HERE via Astralwerks. Watch the lyric video, which received a first look on CULTR, HERE.

The “Better Without You” lyric video immediately shows futuristic, AI-like visuals in the background of the lyrics presented. Along with the futuristic design of the video, the lyrics are often shown in neon colors. This accompanies the artistic and modern aesthetic of the words in a line through an artificial face, for example. The song itself has an edgy, yet pop-like and upbeat rhythm to it. The chorus is very catchy and the video shows a robotic-like woman running through an artificial plain filled with dead-looking mannequins. By the end of the lyric video, the meaning behind the song becomes clear as the robotic-like woman figure ends up coming face to face with herself in a mirror, alluding to the idea that she is better by herself and out of a toxic relationship.

Paris FW x Haute Couture

During Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture, on Tuesday, July 3,

Maison des Centraliens has hosted three young designers with their Fall- Winter Collections 2018-2019:

ABE by Ariane Chaumeil Jewelry  “Miroir”

There is magic and mystery in a mirror : the reflexion of who looks into it is real, but reversed.  Since we gaze at ourselves, all fantasies become possible and brings us back to face each other, and to what the world has to face. As a two-way mirror, you can see without being seen. Step through and find out with this collection, and the part of your soul using your imagination, whether it is dark or whether radiant…

The fall winter collection of the ABE by Ariane Chaumeil house, whose crafting remains done with the blowtorch glass, becomes richer with a new proposition: the metal paste making. Sculpted and cast, the metal paste is modelled, sanded, fired at high temperature, brushed and rubbed with a burnisher and polished several times in order to get pieces of golden and white bronze, and of pure copper, with a shiny, ancient rendering.

A couture collection by  designer Armine Ohanyan

A couture collection made in France, entirely handmade, intimately inspired by nature, showing the natural elements in all their forms. Ice, crystallization, rain, wind, dew and roots. Crystallized in these surroundings, the Human Being becomes Nature. The Nature is everlasting, nothing can stop it. It is the true beauty, perfection. For depicting this cycle of evolution, Armine Ohanyan uses the new technologies such as 3D printing or materials crafting, which play an important role in her creation process. Her art investigations never end, like the movement that she shows in its different forms and their ranges of colours and materials. Her creations are futuristic, modern, with a wide beauty touch.

Baroqco Jewelry

Designers Imelda and Eduardo aka Baroqco are citizens of the world . Their roots are from Dutch Chinese Indonesian and Portuguese descent, and this diversity is what provides foundation that leads to the inspiration and creation. BaroQco comes from Baroque, an era of change from simplicity to lively and exuberant detail. BaroQco stands alone with its unique grandeur and ability to surprise and to achieve a sense of awe. Imelda and Eduardo started to create jewelry as they were looking for a tiara or crown for their wedding day. At that time there were not a lot of options, so they decided to create their own tiara which lead others to ask whether they could also make necklaces and earrings.

« As we embrace the impressionism, we strive not only for the outer but especially for the inner-beauty. In our creations we want to push boundaries of artistic techniques. And therefore the BaroQco is a book without an End. »

The materials are opal ,gold and Swarovski and all the metalwork are nickel free, the usage of non toxic and – hazardous for plating makes the jewelry more ecofriendly.

EINRIDE × T-POD

SWEDEN’S EINRIDE TO EXHIBIT A NEW TYPE OF VEHICLE, THE T-POD, AT 2018 NORTH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW IN DETROIT

Swedish technology company Einride will present a new type of vehicle, the T-pod, to the American market at the 2018 North American International Auto show in Detroit Jan 13-28, 2018. The T-Pod is an electric autonomous transport vehicle that is designed and developed to be competitive to heavy-duty trucks.

The Einride T-Pod is invented and designed from the ground up for battery, electric propulsion and self-driving technology. For example, the T-pod has no cab or driver’s seat. Einride’s T-pod is a part of a transport system that uses the benefits of self-driving and electric propulsion to create a cost-competitive and emission-free transport alternative.

“The T-pod is part of the Einride transport system that uses new technology to create a cost-competitive and sustainable alternative to today’s trucks. This invention makes today´s truck as outdated as horse and carriage and just as cost completive,” commented Robert Falck, CEO of Einride.

“We are excited to bring the T-Pod to Detroit, home of automotive” continued Falck.  “This auto show will be part of the launch of our T-Pod in the United States”.
