Detroit-born, LA-based, prolific singer/songwriter Jesse Palter releases debut EP “The Paper Trail” October 22 on Artistry Music, featuring five tracks of aggressive, piano-pounding pop/rock in the vein of Carole King, Sarah McLachlan and Sara Bareilles. The first single going to radio is “Heavy Is The Crown,” an edgy, incisive pop-rocker examining narcisscism and victim-hood at is best. Check it out here.
Comments Palter: “All of these songs are paving the way towards establishing myself as an artist and songwriter. My approach throughout this project was to find a way to capture a full snapshot of my life and what I’ve been going through. This is the beginning of what I hope will be a long, fulfilling journey.”
Palter, who launched her career in Detroit and Chicago before moving to Los Angeles to focus on her development as a pop artist, was supported in her sound and overall vision by producer Doug Petty, a veteran keyboardist who has worked with Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Nick Lachey and Lisa Loeb, among others. Petty kept the integrity of Palter’s songs from demo stage through the various layers and textures brought forth to compliment her unique artistry. A high caliber of studio musicians played on the project including bassists Tim Lefebvre and Alex Al and drummers Matt Chamberlain and Aaron Sterling.
With The Paper Trail EP, Palter has committed herself to the discipline of perfecting the craft of songwriting. She focused on strengthening her creative muscles to discover what melodies, lyrics and chord changes work best, allowing herself to be vulnerable, brave, and brutally honest at the same time. The songs are autobiographical, representing her life and what’s she’s been through.
Palter launched her jazz career as a teenager, performing oboe and trumpet in the school jazz band. She connected with singer/songwriter Andrew Gold (“Thank You For Being A Friend”), who brought her to Nashville to work on original material and record a demo, which generated interest with several major labels. At 15, she began working with the Grammy-winning production team the Bass Brothers (Eminem). Her skill for improvisational singing and a developing passion for legendary jazz vocalists, led to her shift towards jazz. She studied at the University Of Michigan as a jazz and contemplative studies major.
Her eclectic musical upbringing includes exposure to a wide array of music that inspired her to deeply respect the art of great songs and songwriters, from Carole King and Joni Mitchell, to Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and The Beatles. Music and singing was always in her blood. Her grandmother, Doris Raynor, was once an opera prodigy in NY.
In early 2019, Artistry Music will follow up The Paper Trail EP with the single “Sever The Ties” and a full-length debut album.

~ Refreshing New Spa Menu Highlights Local Ingredients, Beauty Partners and Mayan-Inspired Treatments in Lush Natural Setting ~
Naum Wellness & Spa, the 10,000-square foot verdant wellness hideaway at Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya, has just launched a new spa menu. The new menu, which incorporates many local and natural ingredients, brings in traditional Mayan rituals and offers a variety of spa services promoting health, beauty and inner harmony. The spa’s namesake, Naum, is the Mayan God of consciousness and mind. The Mayan-influenced spa, whose décor follows the same theme as the menu, is simply designed to blend into its lush jungle surroundings, immersing guests into the culture and nature of the region. The six open and airy treatment suites have oversized windows with beautiful decks and striking green views that bring guests a sense of peaceful relaxation.
The new spa menu, which has been carefully curated by Spa Manager Daniel Escalante, is inspired by native Mayan traditions known as “rituals”, which are reflective of the mind, body and spirit. The new treatment Rituals on the menu include the Ritual Sac Ki, which frees the body of harmful toxins and reveals fresher and brighter skin with a dry exfoliation using “Sac Ki”, the Mayan word for white henequen considered the green gold for the Mayan culture. This is followed by an invigorating massage with the anti-inflammatory power of the sacred copal oil. The second Ritual is the Ritual de Ixi’im y Chia, which offers the antioxidant power of the exotic Blue Corn and the purifying power of “Chia”, the Mayan word for “Strength”. The treatment also includes a nourishing massage with shea butter enriched with the regenerative benefits of calendula extract. Couples can reconnect with each other and renew their love through one of the Lovers Retreat rituals including the Eternal Romance Ritual which combines Swedish massage and hot stones with the exquisite aphrodisiac synergy of clove essential oil and wild roses. Rituals range from 90 to 120 minutes and are priced between $349 for a single treatment to $539 for the couple’s treatments.
The Naum Rituals were created to pay homage to oneself and the Mayan Gods, and to find harmony based on the guest’s selected area of wellness intention – whether that be Clarity (Tsoolik), Rest (He’lel), Strength (Muuk’) or Connection (Molcintah). Each Ritual is a three-part experience, alluding to the balancing nature of the number three with a beginning, middle and end. The Rituals begins with a Mayan Time of Reflection, followed by the treatment experience itself, and concludes with a Mayan Celebration to help guests balance and reconnect with themselves and the universe.
Apart from the traditional Rituals, spa guests can also choose from a selection of facials, massages and body treatments, many of which feature local and natural ingredients. Valuing the importance of the science of beauty care, Andaz Mayakoba created specific treatments in partnership with innovative beauty brands such as Naturopathica and Barbor, renowned for their high-quality formulas that contain natural plant extracts mixed with technology to combat a variety of skin problems. In celebration of this extraordinary feat of engineering excellence, a special collection of model year 2018 Bespoke Ghosts will be created at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex. Thirty-five patrons of the marque will delight in a contemporary masterpiece of automotive history, as the Bespoke Collective of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars envisions the ‘Silver Ghost Collection’.
Speaking from the Home of Rolls-Royce, Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, commented, “The extraordinary accomplishments of our marque’s founding fathers are honoured by the creation of this elegant ‘Silver Ghost Collection’. The Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective masterfully weave the rich narrative of the original ‘Silver Ghost’ into just 35 motor cars, creating a contemporary homage to the original motor car. Today, our craftspeople and master artisans continue this legacy of excellence, creating unique motor cars that define luxury.”
The Rolls-Royce ‘Silver Ghost Collection’
Today, a Rolls-Royce motor car is the ultimate luxury, steeped in narrative, veiled in rarity. A Rolls-Royce Collection Car showcases the extraordinary talents of the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Design team; they are born collectables. These are future classics, destined for the lawns of the great international Concours d’Élégance.
Careful consideration has been paid to the defining features of this collection. References extoling the past are skilfully hand-crafted into Ghost’s interior and exterior, creating a contemporary homage which speaks as much of today’s great brand as the ‘Silver Ghost’ does of its day.
A solid sterling-silver Spirit of Ecstasy, the muse that has guided motor cars created by the marque since 1911, will hint at the pioneering heritage of this motor car’s forebear. A specially created Hallmark of AX201, the registration plate of the original ‘Silver Ghost’, will be marked on the base of each muse by the British Assay office, an honour reserved for few. Alongside the AX201 Hallmark, the Metal Fineness marks and the Assay Office town mark, a second unique ‘RR’ Hallmark, the eponymous badge of the marque, will act as the Sponsor’s Mark and authenticate its heritage.
A black-gold-plated collar enshrouds the base of the Spirit of Ecstasy, itself bearing the unique identity of this collection. An insert is crafted from hammered copper, in tribute to the copper extensively used in the engine bay of the original ‘Silver Ghost’. The copper, shaped, beaten and textured is engraved with the newly designed AX201 Hallmark.
Cassiopeia Silver, a complex Bespoke silver paint that incorporates both warm and cool tones, bathes the exterior of Ghost in a hue that echoes the silver paint of the original motor car. A Bespoke hand-painted coachline, applied by Rolls-Royce’s master coachline painter and taking eight hours to apply, is imbued with fine particles of 100% pure silver, adding to the provenance of this collection.
The face of the Model Year 2018 motor car is instantly recognisable as one of 35 in this collection. Black painted grille veins mimic the distinctive black grille of the ‘Silver Ghost’, while the fully-polished wheel centres encircled with ‘SILVER GHOST – SINCE 1907’ engraved on a Cassiopeia Silver backing, echo the fine details of the original car.
On opening the coach doors, accents of a specially created ‘Forest Green’ leather provide a nod to the original interior colour scheme. A newly designed silver tipped leather makes its Rolls-Royce debut, being incorporated onto the front and rear door panniers. Additionally, a silver onlay has been set into the open pore wood of the fascia and door cappings, flanking a solid silver ingot, hallmarked to allow reflection of this motor car’s great lineage.
Further reference to the ‘Silver Ghost’ is made via the collection’s clock, styled as an ingot of silver, engraved with ‘Silver Ghost Since 1907’ and once again marked with the distinguishing hallmarks of this collection. A peened solid silver encasement provides a decorative surface, reminiscent of the original dials of the ‘Silver Ghost’.
The tread plates proudly authenticate each motor car, engraved with the words ‘Silver Ghost Collection – One of Thirty-Five’, while the Rolls-Royce umbrellas, stowed in the doors of each motor car, are edged in a silver-coloured binding and have an open-pore Tudor Oak handle, with the end of the handle engraved to demonstrate its unique origins.
A Bespoke central console allows the patron to convey personal accoutrements, accommodating contemporary touring. A time-piece, sunglasses and accessories case is presented alongside a ‘Silver Ghost’ pen, shaped as the speedform of the car; clean, modern and streamlined.
As a finishing touch and to complete the collection, a rare and collectable Silver Ghost Hamper will continue Rolls-Royce’s romantic notion of the pinnacle in al fresco dining, proudly displaying a fusion of Bespoke Design with the finest craftsmanship.

Open to the public now, Bloom: Open Space is a new mixed reality generative music experience created by musician, producer, visual artist, and thinker Brian Eno and longtime collaborator, musician/software designer Peter Chilvers. For just five days, guests to The Transformatorhuis (Trafo House) at Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam can explore this unique MR installation that blurs the lines between the physical and virtual.
Based upon their highly acclaimed, award-winning app of the same name, the installation explores uncharted territory in the realms of both applications and generative art. Guests can use the Microsoft HoloLens to physically experience Bloom – tapping the air around them to create elaborate patterns and unique melodies with the simplest of gestures.
Says Eno, “I have always been interested by the possibilities that new technologies offer, particularly that subset which falls under the heading ‘things nobody ever thought of doing before.’ This offer was an opportunity to explore the possibilities of Bloom further and augmented reality further.”
Bloom: Open Space seeks to inspire creativity in line with Brian Eno’s innovations, while the HoloLens allows the audience to directly participate and become part of the total experience. Eno has consistently pushed the boundaries of music, sound, and visual art, continually challenging both himself and those who experience his work. Eno and
Chilvers have been experimenting with generative systems for about 15 years, and as well as Bloom, have also released a number of other apps including Scape, Trope, and most recently, Reflection.
A part of the Microsoft Music x Technology program, this collaboration transforms the way we experience and create music. The installation is open to the public in Amsterdam through February 25th, 2018. For those unable to travel to Amsterdam, you can get an inside look at Bloom: Open Space here: bloomopenspace.com
