PinkPantheress – To Hell With It

PinkPantheress has released her debut mixtape To hell with it, out now via Elektra Records/Parlophone Records. To hell with it includes fan-favorites “Pain,” “Passion,” “Break It Off” and recent hit singles “Just for me” and “I must apologize.”

Speaking on the mixtape PinkPantheress says: “I’m super excited to share this project with you all as my first body of work, I’ve been collecting songs that I’ve made this year and while I’m still developing my sound, I’m hoping these songs immerse you into your ideal fantasy world as you listen.” 360 Magazine is surprised to see the amount of Halloween and Christmas music that is coming out this year for each Holiday.

Though she only debuted in 2021, PinkPantheress has gained a strong fanbase including Dazed who referred to her music as “irresistibly catchy earworms.” She has also received love from i-D, Pitchfork, NPR, Pigeons & Planes, and more.

Best Places to Buy a Halloween Costume

By: Skyler Johnson

Looking for Halloween costumes can be difficult, especially when there are so many costumes and places to choose from! It’s hard to know where to look, especially since so many of the year’s most popular costumes require either a high knowledge of sewing or high a payment at a costume shop. Chances are you might be able to find a Bridgerton dress in your grandmother’s attic, but a Harley Quinn bat or a Cruella wig might be harder. So, I’ve examined a list of over twenty different online retailers to find the best places to buy from, considering price, quality, and selection. I’ve done my research and looked at all the biggest costumes for 2021, including Wanda Maximoff and Loki from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, to determine the best overall options. Here are the best outfits for…

Your Wallet

Overall, Amazon and Party City have the lowest costs. Because of Amazon’s wide selection, you’re likely to find inexpensive stuff and a wide variety if you just do some digging. You may spend more at Party City, but shipping is from a store location and not an individual seller, so shipping in this case can be cheaper. If you don’t want to support either of those large businesses, you may be out of luck. Shopping on smaller online shops like Candy Apple may provide you with cheaper goods, but you’ll have to do a bit of digging and  might not get attire in the condition that you’re hoping for. Another solution is to consider thrifting your Halloween costume. While it is unlikely that you will find a brand new, full, cost-effective costume, thrifting can be a great way to find several pieces at a good price over time if you are planning on being a more modern character.

Your Specific Taste

Obsessed with dressing like a Squid Game character after your latest binge watch? Although the show just came out, there are already retailers who’ve designed the show’s iconic jumpsuits and mask for costumed purposes. Amazon again is the most reliable deliverer with its wide user base, having the full Squid Game outfit. But Walmart has a decent selection as well. Furthermore, I’ve found is the best place to buy black gloves for an Olivia Rodrigo “Good 4 u” inspired look. You can find some bizarre stuff on Etsy, including unique, well-made garments, jewelry, or period pieces. For sexy getups, check out Yandy. They have a hot and steamy selection for the holiday.

Your Need for the Best Quality

On every site, the caliber will differ, besides a few retail stores with online options (i.e. Party City, Spirit Halloween) where the worth will be consistent but not necessarily the best quality (particularly Party City). Again, Amazon takes the cake in terms of value just from the selection they have and the large number of reviews, proving them as a reliable option. Other stores can be a gamble as they tend to not have the best reviews, and pictures can only say so much.

Your Kids

One of my favorite stores for kids’ selection is Target, which offers different apparel for different age groups, making it easier for parents to know whether an outfit will fit their child. Target is a relatively cost-efficient option as well. For a bit pricier but higher quality option, the Disney store can also be a great fit for those wanting an Elsa dress/wig, or any other Disney or Marvel character for your little prince, princess, or hero!

Conclusion

Halloween is a wonderfully fun holiday and there are many great places to buy party garbs for spooky season. Amazon is probably still the most reliable and consistent due to their high volume of product movement, but there are many great places to check out for those who, understandably, don’t want to support Jeff Bezos. Happy shopping, and happy Halloween!

Emma Norton Q×A

In preparation for Halloween, 360 Magazine has been searching for mysterious creatives. TikTok sensation Emma Norton brings that feeling with her extravagant horror inspired makeup looks. Last week we got to ask her some questions. We were dying to know the answers to. Below is our conversation with Ms. Emma Norton.

  1. When creating a makeup look, where do you draw inspiration from?

First, I want to thank 360 Magazine for your interest in talking with me! It means a lot. I draw inspiration from stories, movies, pop culture, and life experiences. There is also a lot of talented TikTok’ers that inspire me. To be honest, I conjure up most of my ideas from my own imagination. The hard part is making a decision about which idea to execute.

  1. How long does it take to create a makeup look from start to finish?

For some videos, once I make a decision on an idea, I can turn on the sound and camera and film in 1-2 takes. On the other hand, my more complicated make-up looks (my blue tiger and pop art look are two examples) can take as much as 6-7 hours to complete! I typically do all the production work myself in my makeshift home studio.

  1. Do you have a particular makeup and costume look prepared for Halloween?

Halloween is hands-down my favorite holiday. Like last year, I come up with multiple Halloween costumes and make-up looks I use for different events or for special videos. I prefer not to say just yet what this year’s costume will be – but I promise it will be show-stopping!

  1. How does the pressure of having so many followers affect your process of putting together the perfect look?

The fact there are no controls over my creative process or my content is a big deal to me. Sure – at times I feel pressure to increase my followers or maximize views and likes. Some of the looks I’m most proud of don’t receive the love I hope for. But in the end, I’m committed to being a “creative” – and as long as I feel positive about my content, I say bring on the pressure!

  1. Do you feel your following has impacted your creativity?

I do receive lots of requests – to reprise a character people love (like Harley Quinn), to create a character I’ve never done, or even to livestream a tutorial for a particular make-up technique. I’m grateful for the engagement and suggestions from my followers. But I’m always thinking about new characters and looks! That creative challenge is what gives me the greatest satisfaction.

  1. What sorts of products do you use?

This question is actually hard to answer! I have so many favorite make-up and clean-up products. I really like Morphe’s Avani Collab and use it all the time. I also love Patrick Starrr’s lashes and IT Cosmetics CC Cream. You can get my clean-up favorites from any supermarket or drugstore. If I have heavy make-up on, I spread coconut oil all over my face to loosen the make-up before using baby wipes for sensitive skin to remove the make-up. For occasional skin flare-ups, I like Clean & Clear Spot Treatment.

  1. What’s Next for Emma Norton?

As far as future projects, several months ago I relocated from my home in Denver to Los Angeles, and I’m 100% focused on pursuing my dream of becoming a film/TV actor. Acting is my first love. Besides acting, I’m working on a few partnerships with brands that I believe in and look forward to promoting.

I hope to leverage my platform to bring greater awareness to two wonderful organizations. Lollipop Theater is an organization dedicated to bringing entertainment (like me) to children confined to hospitals nationwide. I also support charity: water’s mission of providing clean water to communities worldwide that don’t have access to this basic human necessity.

Elysian Brewing × Halloween

It’s dark outside and there’s an ominous knock at the door. Were you expecting a guest? Your pulse quickens. Palms begin to sweat. You can hear your heart beating out of your chest. You open the door and that’s when it happens… you see the person, the thing, in front of you. Is it dead or alive? You can’t tell. You start to scream, are you imagining this or is it true?

During Halloween week this year, it’s true. Elysian Brewing has tapped Georgetown Morgue, Seattle’s premier haunted house, for the scariest beer delivery of all time. Scare actors from the morgue will haunt your doorstep, and nightmares, as they deliver Elysian’s pumpkin beer variety pack as part of the brewery’s “Scary Good Delivery Service.”

The real question here – is there anything scarier than a fridge without beer in it? This Halloween week, the brewery and morgue will aim to make that true. On Wednesday, October 27th and Thursday, October 28th, Elysian and Georgetown Morgue will spook Seattle locals who are ages 21+ with a dose of the creepy crawlies and a bone-chilling 12-pack of beer.

From brewing its first pumpkin beer in 1997 and creating the world’s first Imperial Pumpkin Ale in 2004 to launching the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival shortly after, Elysian is a pioneer in brewing pumpkin beer and offers a variety of beers made with Pacific Northwest-grown pumpkins. Not located in Seattle? Have no fear. Elysian’s to-die-for Pumpkin Variety Pack is available nationwide and features four beers that are sure to satiate pumpkin fans everywhere:

  • Night Owl: A very drinkable Pumpkin Ale brewed with pumpkin puree and juice, and spiced in conditioning with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and allspice.
  • Punkuccino: A Pumpkin Ale with the attitude of a world-weary barista, Punkuccino packs a short shot of Stumptown coffee toddy with just a shake of cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • The Great Pumpkin: The world’s first Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Boasting intense aromas of pumpkin with sugar and spice on the nose, Great Pumpkin is a delectably smooth fall brew that pours a deep copper color with a ghostly white head.
  • Dark O’ The Moon: Spookily smooth and chocolatey with a slight smokiness on the nose, this Pumpkin Stout pours dark as night and is brewed with fresh pumpkin and pumpkin seeds with a hint of cinnamon.

Horror fans and thrill seekers ages 21+ can sign up for Elysian’s “Scary Good Delivery Service” HERE from October 14 through Wednesday, October 22. Deliveries will take place on Wednesday, October 27, and Thursday, October 28 from the dark hours of 5:00pm – 9:00pm PST.

Halloween Trends on YouTube

You might notice some familiar names with the Top 10 most popular costumes on YouTube this year: Two years after the release of Suicide Squad, Harley Quinn continues to show up as a popular costume idea on YouTube, while Disney characters Elsa and Anna from Frozen made their way back onto the list again (after dropping out in 2017). And, in parallel to its massive success on YouTube overall, Fortnite-themed costumes have broken into the Top 10 Halloween list this year, with costumes ideas from the game trending globally as well as in the US, UK, and Canada.

This year, we also took a closer look at which trending costumes are new to 2018’s ranking. Most notably: Fortnite, Stranger Things, and Mario Bros are trending this year, likely due to continued popularity around their corresponding games and titles.  Hocus Pocus-inspired costume ideas are also spiking in terms of views, just in time for the 25th anniversary of the movie’s debut. Here’s a look at some newcomers, ranked by views:

Ghosts of Big Sur

Everyone loves a good ghost story, and the best ghost stories are the ones that are true. Culture Editor Tom Wilmer traveled along the California Coast via Highway 1 through Big Sur and learned all about one of the most haunted routes in America. Wilmer spoke with Rory Cosma at Ragged Point Inn and Resort and was told the spookiest ghost stories of Big Sur. Check out Wilmer’s podcast and hear it all for yourself. You may want to sleep with the lights on after this one.
