Sisi Spray n’ Style

Tired of bad hair after an hour at the gym? Or losing space in your luggage trying to fit your hair care essentials? Sisi Spray N’ Style solves every one of these everyday problems.

Years of struggling to brush and style her daughter’s hair left Jessica Urzua feeling frustrated. The brush bristles were always too hard, and she couldn’t get the detangling product worked in fast enough. Both causing sensory overload to her child.

True to a mom’s problem-solving nature, Jessica came up with the idea to combine a gentle brush with a spray bottle, and Sisi Spray N’ Style was born.

  • DETANGLE: Using a mix of boar hair bristles and nylon pins, the brush glides through wet or dry hair with ease.
  • MASSAGE: The curved brush head massages your scalp with each brushstroke, creating a fun and relaxing sensation that even the most sensitive of kids will love.
  • VERSATILE: The compact design allows you to take the brush with you anywhere. Perfect for gym-goers and any person on the go as you will no longer need to pack large bottles of hair product. The Sisi Spray N’ Style is also TSA-approved, also making it perfect for travelers who need that precious luggage space.
  • REUSABLE: Each brush comes with three reusable spray bottles so you can have all your hair care needs readily available. The vacuum-style bottles also make cleaning simple and easy.

Story Behind the Can

January 24th is National Beer Can Appreciation Day, which celebrates the historic and thirst-quenching day beer was first sold in cans! In celebration, here are a few of Elysian Brewing’s most iconic beer cans through the years including Salt & Seed, the hit summer seasonal rose released last year which features a photograph of an actual watermelon, and Dayglow, which showcases a tiger with laser beams shooting out of its eyes (yes, you read that right).

The in-house design team at Seattle-based craft brewery Elysian Brewing is known for its art-forward approach to beer can creation. The small design team is constantly pushing the boundaries and exploring how they can drive excitement and inspiration through label design, often through a mixed-medium and DIY creative take on label design.

The creativity and imagination that goes into their labels are endless, leading to everything from sculptures, photography, and even shampoo being featured on product labels. In celebration of the upcoming holiday, the Elysian design team talked about their favorite labels throughout the years.

Dayglow IPA

Elysian Design Team: “What company proudly puts a tiger shooting laser beams out of its eyes on a bottle and pushes print? As ridiculous as the concept seems, the visual was a hit. Dayglow was the winner of the 2014 Beverage World Global Packaging Design Awards, paving the way and setting a standard for all future Elysian label designs to come.”

Mother Pig Fresh Hop IPA

Elysian Design TeamL “The art for Mother Pig was inspired by the hop picker at the farm that provided the hops for this IPA. The picker is a specialized machine the growers refer to as ‘Mother Pig’ as it herds up all the little piglets (Hop bines).”

Salt and Seed Watermelon Gose

Elysian Design Team: “This tongue-in-cheek ‘still life’ reveals itself as an impossible object; similar to a ship-in-bottle, it begs out consumers to question—’how the heck did they do that?’ The creation of this label was done in-house and all by hand for an elaborate, albeit lo-fi photoshoot.”

Thanks, It’s Cashmere Hazy IPA

Elysian Design Team: “This label was a first in our history in that it cleverly highlighted the hop used within its name, leaned into it, and turned it into a full-on story. It set a high bar for beers following its footsteps and reimagined what it means to write a beer description.”

Elysian Brewing Citrus Beer

With Citrus season in full swing through February, Josh Waldman, Brewmaster at Elysian Brewing, shared some insight on these beers and why they’re so popular.

The relationship between citrus and beer dates back centuries, from the use of bitter orange peels in Belgian styles to the discovery of New American Hop Varieties, such as orange zest-like Cascade hops, first commercially introduced all the way back in 1971.

What makes a citrus beer so appealing? Waldman says it’s simple: “They offer refreshing and sprightly flavors for contemporary drinkers.” There’s no better example than Elysian’s Altered Contact:

  • Altered Contact Tart IPA – 6.8% ABV: Altered Contact rewires your perception of IPAs with its electrifyingly tart and juicy demeanor. Plug into galvanized notes of orange, tangerine, mango, and pineapple, There’s no turning back now.

If you’re interested in something that’s a bit less citrus-forward but still features tropical/fruity notes, be sure to check out the other two members of Elysian’s Contact Trilogy:

  • Contact Haze Hazy IPA – 6% ABV: This IPA is tangled chemistry of mild haze, low bitterness, and an explosion of hop aroma. On top of the typical citrus notes of hazy IPAs, Contact Haze features flavors and aromas of raspberry, currant, guava, and passion fruit.

Full Contact Imperial Hazy IPA – 8.8% ABV: Cloaked in a semi-translucent haze, an imposing presence beckons you to come closer. As you do, your nose opens to a tangent of wistful memories—peach season in the orchard, a tangerine tree on a hill, fresh honeydew cold from the fridge, and a vanilla cream soda in your hand.

Elysian Brewing × Halloween

It’s dark outside and there’s an ominous knock at the door. Were you expecting a guest? Your pulse quickens. Palms begin to sweat. You can hear your heart beating out of your chest. You open the door and that’s when it happens… you see the person, the thing, in front of you. Is it dead or alive? You can’t tell. You start to scream, are you imagining this or is it true?

During Halloween week this year, it’s true. Elysian Brewing has tapped Georgetown Morgue, Seattle’s premier haunted house, for the scariest beer delivery of all time. Scare actors from the morgue will haunt your doorstep, and nightmares, as they deliver Elysian’s pumpkin beer variety pack as part of the brewery’s “Scary Good Delivery Service.”

The real question here – is there anything scarier than a fridge without beer in it? This Halloween week, the brewery and morgue will aim to make that true. On Wednesday, October 27th and Thursday, October 28th, Elysian and Georgetown Morgue will spook Seattle locals who are ages 21+ with a dose of the creepy crawlies and a bone-chilling 12-pack of beer.

From brewing its first pumpkin beer in 1997 and creating the world’s first Imperial Pumpkin Ale in 2004 to launching the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival shortly after, Elysian is a pioneer in brewing pumpkin beer and offers a variety of beers made with Pacific Northwest-grown pumpkins. Not located in Seattle? Have no fear. Elysian’s to-die-for Pumpkin Variety Pack is available nationwide and features four beers that are sure to satiate pumpkin fans everywhere:

  • Night Owl: A very drinkable Pumpkin Ale brewed with pumpkin puree and juice, and spiced in conditioning with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and allspice.
  • Punkuccino: A Pumpkin Ale with the attitude of a world-weary barista, Punkuccino packs a short shot of Stumptown coffee toddy with just a shake of cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • The Great Pumpkin: The world’s first Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Boasting intense aromas of pumpkin with sugar and spice on the nose, Great Pumpkin is a delectably smooth fall brew that pours a deep copper color with a ghostly white head.
  • Dark O’ The Moon: Spookily smooth and chocolatey with a slight smokiness on the nose, this Pumpkin Stout pours dark as night and is brewed with fresh pumpkin and pumpkin seeds with a hint of cinnamon.

Horror fans and thrill seekers ages 21+ can sign up for Elysian’s “Scary Good Delivery Service” HERE from October 14 through Wednesday, October 22. Deliveries will take place on Wednesday, October 27, and Thursday, October 28 from the dark hours of 5:00pm – 9:00pm PST.

Rum Experiences in Puerto Rico by Discover Puerto Rico:

Did you know that the Island is responsible for producing over 70% of all the rum sold in the U.S.? Puerto Rico is home to household names like Bacardí to local favorites like Don Q with the Island’s rich rum history dating back to the 15th century. Created as a byproduct of the sugar cane industry, laborers discovered mixing molasses and fermenting it produced a distilled spirit – rum! There are over 80 different types of rums on the Island, and several distilleries that continue production to this day.

Casa Bacardí: Is the world’s largest premium rum distillery located across the bay from Old San Juan. Casa Bacardí offers guided tours that showcases the manufacturing process from sugar cane to distilled rum.

Castillo Serrallés: Built in the 1930s, the Castillo Serrallés Museum is a Spanish Revival-style home of the Serrallés family, famous for their Don Q rum. The home now serves as a permanent exhibition with guided tours in English and Spanish.

Hacienda Santa Ana: Just 15 minutes outside San Juan, the town of Bayamón boasts the oldest distillery in Puerto Rico. Since 1880, Ron del Barrilito has been manufactured and produced in small batches. There is also a visitor center where you can learn more about the history and taste of Barrilito.

PitoRico: Take a daytrip to the town of Jayuya for some flavorful moonshine called pitorro manufactured at Destilería Cruz. Visitors can drop by the distillery to get a tour of the factory and a tasting of the different flavors of PitoRico, including coconut, passion fruit, tamarind, orange and original.

NEFT Vodka

Our water is naturally filtered for fifty years as gravity, ever patient, gently flows through the granite and slate deep beneath the Austrian Alps for decades until it reaches our secure aquifer.  Made only from four ancient grains of rye that carry with them the weather report and singular conditions of its vintage.

You can taste the winter it was planted and the summer it was harvested.  The result, a rich, slightly sweet taste born of pure ingredients – no sugar or additives.  And, a smooth finish that stops time.

Barrels are available in black and white, as well as a limited Pride edition. Shop here.
