Millennials and the Metaverse: Here’s where Gaming and Engagement Come into Play

The digital age has taken over our daily lives. We now have technology that does everything for us – wake us up, read us our daily news, count our calories – the list goes on. But what the digital age has done for us most: provide fun and engaging ways for us to spend our downtime.

The gaming universe has become one of the most flourishing industries of all time. With millions of games to choose from, like Bubble Hit, people of all ages can connect, engage, and enjoy. Recent reports show that the younger the generation, the higher the likelihood of engagement in the mobile gaming industry. Studies have shown that every 8/10 Millennial and Gen Z consumers are playing video games. Gaming is even on track to replace movies and television as the preferred form of entertainment. With numbers like this, it is a no brainer to begin ventures into this highly grossing marketplace.

This thought is actually what created the staple of today’s gaming: the metaverse. With gaming on the rise, something had to be done to take it to the next level. The metaverse is an immersive virtual reality. Gamers enter this virtual world, “live”, and participate in activities in this virtual world. You may, in fact, have seen or heard of the metaverse in many different aspects besides gaming. The idea of NFT’s/cryptocurrency, for example, is another aspect of the metaverse. Games like Roblox, Minecraft, and Fortnite are examples of popular gaming sites that have immersed their users into the metaverse.

But what exactly about the metaverse makes it so attractive?

You can have fun with your friends anywhere, anytime. In the past, games could only be played together in person. But the metaverse extends the fun. Just the click of a button can take you into a new reality with all your friends. But the metaverse does more than just connect you with your friends – it can actually make you money.

“I want to level the financial playing field and give the masses the opportunity to reach financial wealth,” remarks CEO John Vitti of VersusGames

Vitti transcended the already futuristic metaverse by going a step above and beyond – instead of simply having fun, you can have fun and earn money. VersusGames is a prediction-based gaming app, allowing you to make predictions that test your knowledge on all things pop culture. You enter a one-on-one match up, earning money through correct predictions. In addition to those earnings, by referring a friend, you earn 5% of their earnings. Players are earning so much that they’re even quitting their jobs! Here, the idea of the metaverse takes on a new meaning. The metaverse extends from the virtual world to reality, allowing you to turn your gaming into real-life profit.

VersusGames also allows influencers and celebrities to engage with their fans. As creators host games, they are able to earn consistent profits from their engagement. Unlike other big tech giants that only have a small pot of funds for all of their creators, VersusGames ensures creators get value for their time. But VersusGames is more than another PR opportunity – celebrities like Kevin Hart, Jason Derulo, and internet superstars Josh Richards and David Dobrik find VersusGames a meaningful way to form genuine connections with their fans.

VersusGames is a great example of how engagement is enhanced through the metaverse. By turning virtual fun into real-life profit, consumers aren’t just engaging with the product once, but consistently coming back for more. Besides a higher retention rate, the metaverse provides another layer of enhanced gaming. With tools like virtual reality sets, you aren’t simply playing a video game, you are inside of one. Gaming goes from a 2-D to 3-D experience. The physical gaming experience has become more immersive than ever, as well as the real-life opportunities that go with them. Gaming isn’t simply a passtime anymore. Thanks to the metaverse, it has become a lifestyle.

With every innovation comes its skeptics. Many are worried about the impacts of the metaverse on privacy. With new technology like the metaverse, so much is unknown. From tracking your physical movements and patterns when you play games, to tracking personal and financial information in transferring gaming money to money in the bank, a lot of consumers are worried about the implications of these actions. Companies are ensuring that with this brand new technology, consumers remain the priority. Privacy laws regarding the new metaverse technology are now being developed to protect consumer privacy first and foremost.

Another fear with the metaverse is its implications on its players’ physical and mental health. By entering such an immersive world, some players have experienced a feeling similar to a hangover or depression period after exiting the game. When switching from such an exciting and immersive world, the switch back into reality can sometimes be challenging. Companies like VersusGames have worked to ease the transition by providing real-life opportunities for advancement from the games, and allowing social interaction to be a large part of the game. By staying connected to others in the metaverse, players’ confidence in their abilities to interact is high, helping bridge the gap of social anxiety, and encouraging more genuine connection in reality.

To sum up, here are the key features the metaverse provides your gamers:

  • An immersive and engaging gaming experience
  • Opportunities for profit
  • A great way to connect with friends/family

Gaming is redefining the entertainment industry. As the younger generations are now engaging with entertainment more often, gaming has become at the forefront of priorities. The era of the metaverse is here – it is time to get on board!

Coach × Michael B. Jordan

COACH INTRODUCES COACH × MICHAEL B. JORDAN ‘BLUE THE GREAT: THE ART OF COLLABORATION’

Capsule Collection Designed in Collaboration with Michael B. Jordan and Blue the Great

Coach introduces Coach × Michael B. Jordan, its next collaboration with actor, producer and Coach men’s ambassador Michael B. Jordan. The capsule collection, titled ‘Blue the Great: The Art of Collaboration’ is a partnership between Coach, Jordan and his friend, LA-based artist and painter Blue the Great. The collection and campaign recontextualize inclusivity in art—using the house’s heritage as a canvas to spotlight the importance of collaboration and friendship amongst the two artists––and the creative community at large.

Inspired by Jordan’s personal approach to style and Blue’s contemporary take on art, the all-gender collection of ready-to-wear, footwear, bags and accessories combines the house’s heritage in craftsmanship with sportswear and streetwear in a limited edition drop. It features Coach’s iconic codes—Signature and Rexy—updated with Blue’s trademark mummy-wrapped art, as well as a tote crafted of 100 percent recycled materials.

To introduce the collection, Coach will release a campaign photographed by frequent Coach collaborator Shaniqwa Jarvis. Featuring portraits of Jordan, Blue and friends, Khat and Frank Brim (beauty and lifestyle influencers) and Tori Kirihara (artist) in an “open door” art gallery, the story repositions this traditionally exclusive place as a venue for collaboration and authentic connection. Inspired by the inclusive and optimistic spirit of New York and Coach, the campaign continues the house’s tradition of spotlighting the voices of up-and-coming and under-represented artists in its storytelling.

“We had worked with Blue as part of our Spring 2021 campaign, so I was excited to partner with him and Michael on this special collection,” said Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers. “Mike and Blue have a great friendship, grounded in mutual respect for each other’s artistic approach. The combination brought originality, dimension and significance to this collection.”

“I’ve been painting since I was a kid. It’s crazy and pretty exciting to be able put my spin on such an iconic brand like Coach. Whenever art and fashion mix exciting things can happen,” said Blue the Great.

Emma Norton Q×A

In preparation for Halloween, 360 Magazine has been searching for mysterious creatives. TikTok sensation Emma Norton brings that feeling with her extravagant horror inspired makeup looks. Last week we got to ask her some questions. We were dying to know the answers to. Below is our conversation with Ms. Emma Norton.

  1. When creating a makeup look, where do you draw inspiration from?

First, I want to thank 360 Magazine for your interest in talking with me! It means a lot. I draw inspiration from stories, movies, pop culture, and life experiences. There is also a lot of talented TikTok’ers that inspire me. To be honest, I conjure up most of my ideas from my own imagination. The hard part is making a decision about which idea to execute.

  1. How long does it take to create a makeup look from start to finish?

For some videos, once I make a decision on an idea, I can turn on the sound and camera and film in 1-2 takes. On the other hand, my more complicated make-up looks (my blue tiger and pop art look are two examples) can take as much as 6-7 hours to complete! I typically do all the production work myself in my makeshift home studio.

  1. Do you have a particular makeup and costume look prepared for Halloween?

Halloween is hands-down my favorite holiday. Like last year, I come up with multiple Halloween costumes and make-up looks I use for different events or for special videos. I prefer not to say just yet what this year’s costume will be – but I promise it will be show-stopping!

  1. How does the pressure of having so many followers affect your process of putting together the perfect look?

The fact there are no controls over my creative process or my content is a big deal to me. Sure – at times I feel pressure to increase my followers or maximize views and likes. Some of the looks I’m most proud of don’t receive the love I hope for. But in the end, I’m committed to being a “creative” – and as long as I feel positive about my content, I say bring on the pressure!

  1. Do you feel your following has impacted your creativity?

I do receive lots of requests – to reprise a character people love (like Harley Quinn), to create a character I’ve never done, or even to livestream a tutorial for a particular make-up technique. I’m grateful for the engagement and suggestions from my followers. But I’m always thinking about new characters and looks! That creative challenge is what gives me the greatest satisfaction.

  1. What sorts of products do you use?

This question is actually hard to answer! I have so many favorite make-up and clean-up products. I really like Morphe’s Avani Collab and use it all the time. I also love Patrick Starrr’s lashes and IT Cosmetics CC Cream. You can get my clean-up favorites from any supermarket or drugstore. If I have heavy make-up on, I spread coconut oil all over my face to loosen the make-up before using baby wipes for sensitive skin to remove the make-up. For occasional skin flare-ups, I like Clean & Clear Spot Treatment.

  1. What’s Next for Emma Norton?

As far as future projects, several months ago I relocated from my home in Denver to Los Angeles, and I’m 100% focused on pursuing my dream of becoming a film/TV actor. Acting is my first love. Besides acting, I’m working on a few partnerships with brands that I believe in and look forward to promoting.

I hope to leverage my platform to bring greater awareness to two wonderful organizations. Lollipop Theater is an organization dedicated to bringing entertainment (like me) to children confined to hospitals nationwide. I also support charity: water’s mission of providing clean water to communities worldwide that don’t have access to this basic human necessity.

KO Média is proud to unveil the inaugural issue of ELLE Decoration Canada.

The world leader in interior design publishing, ELLE Decoration’s most recent addition showcases inspiring interiors, avant-garde trends, design hotspots and pro tips from creators, both Canadian and international – including a cover story about the ultra-luxurious penthouse of a Montreal fashion entrepreneur, whose Little Italy triplex is bringing nature inside. In another lush feature, a Manhattan-based, Canada-born designer offers a fresh take on old-school luxury with a redesign of an urban glass home, complete with rooftop English garden. “Walls provide a certain privacy, just like a garden,” says Garrow Kedigian, whose clients include members of the royal family and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

In decor trends, green is taking centre stage, so the debut edition features absinthe, teal and fern designs for your outdoor oasis; gardening tips and “Perfection” fennel; ultra-stylish transportable grills for everything from Neopolitan-style pizza to s’mores; and even handmade Vietnamese bowls made with food-grade varnishes and cashew apple resin.

Looking back while looking forward, it also covers the history of cane and rattan furniture as well as modern interpretations worth getting excited about, from panel lighting to cocoon loungers.

Like its 26 international siblings with their more than 10 million total readers, the Canadian edition of ELLE Decoration extends beyond the home, in this case digging into the story of a top Canadian chef who goes from painstakingly assembling culinary art on handcrafted ceramic plates to ladling it into takeout containers in a story that covers everything from restaurant design to the ethics of dinnerware).

Plus, moon-inspired decor; rebellious interpretations of everyday objects; and getting cozy with Danish hygge via simplicity, functionality… and plenty of light.

The edition even features a new Champagne bottle design, just in time to celebrate the magazine’s launch!

The first issue of ELLE Decoration Canada will hit stands on April 19th, 2021.

Cryptocurrency × NTFs

By: Heather Skovlund-Reibsamen

Cryptocurrency × NTFs

In recent news, Tautachrome Inc. has announced its patent attorney’s opinion on the early applicability of its KlickZie patents. The KickZie application will enable users to capture images that are invisibly marked and verified as the original. The owner of the image or video will have the ability to use, sell, and monetize their images. A simple tap on the image will allow users to communicate with the image’s author or others currently viewing the image. The patent is among many in the market of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens).

Cryptocurrency Breakdown:

Understanding cryptocurrency can be a headache! It is best to research thoroughly before investing your hard-earned money into just any digital asset. Let’s start with the basics: what is cryptocurrency?  Crypto, crypto currency, or cryptocurrency is a digital asset designed to work as a medium of exchange where individual coin ownership records are stored in a ledger existing in a form of computerized databases using strong cryptography to secure transaction records, control the creation of additional coins, and to verify the transfer of coin ownership. Now, cryptocurrency does not exist in a physical form, like your wallet filled with dollar bills.

Crypto Coins – Altcoins: Tokens, cryptocurrencies, and other forms of digital assets that are NOT bitcoin are known as alternative cryptocurrencies.

A few examples:

  • Peercoin
  • Litecoin
  • Dogecoin
  • Auroracoin
  • Namecoin

Tokens: Created and given out through an Initial Coin Offering, or ICO – much like a stock offering. Crypto tokens are a blockchain account that can provide functions other than making payments. Tokens are usually issued within a smart contract running on top of a blockchain.

  • Value tokens (Bitcoins)
  • Security tokens (to protect your account(s))
  • Utility tokens (designated for specific uses)

What does it mean when a cryptocurrency forks?

Sometimes a cryptocurrency will ‘fork’ and yes, that does sound confusing. It can be broken down into Forks, Hard Forks, or Soft Forks. Forks can be classified as accidental or intentional. An accidental fork happens when two or more miners find a block at the same, or almost same, time. The fork is then resolved when subsequent blocks are added and one of the chains becomes longer than the alternative. The network then abandons the blocks that are not in the longer chain, then referred to as orphaned blocks.

Hard Fork: A hard fork happens if a protocol or rule is changed so that the old protocol version is no longer valid.

Soft Fork: A soft fork occurs when a protocol or rule is changed, and the old version accepts the new version; enabling it to continue working.

What exactly are NTFs?

A non-fungible token is a unit of data within a digital ledger called a blockchain. This is where each NFT can represent a unique digital item and are not interchangeable. A blockchain is a growing list of records (blocks), that are linked using cryptography. Each block has a cryptographic hash (a mathematical algorithm that maps data), a timestamp, and transaction data.

NFTs can be used to represent digital files such as audios, art, collectibles, sports, pornography, video games, and other forms of creative work. While copies can be made of these creative means, the NFTs representing the original are tracked on their underlying blockchains; therefore, providing the buyers with proof of originality and ownership.

In order to create an NFT, a file is uploaded to an NFT auction market. This creates a copy of the file recorded on the digital ledger as an NFT. This enables it to be bought with cryptocurrency and then resold. The artist can sell an NFT representing the work and still retain the copyright to the work as well as create more NFTs of the same file.

In addition, the buyer of the file does not gain exclusive access to the work or the original digital file. Unfortunately, a seller does not have to prove that they are the original artist either. There have been many cases where are was used for NFTs without the true artist’s permission.

Most Common Types of Cryptocurrency

Bitcoin: Invented in 2008 by a person or group using the name Satoshi Nakamoto. The currency began being used in 2009 when its implementation was released as open-source software. Bitcoin was the first decentralized cryptocurrency leading the way for many others in the years to come. Bitcoins were created as a reward for a process known as mining (record-keeping service done electronically). Bitcoins can be exchanged for other currencies, products, and services.

Bitcoin Cash: A spin-off or altcoin of Bitcoin that was created in 2017 eventually splitting into two cryptocurrencies – Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin SV. Bitcoin Cash is one of the most popular types of cryptocurrency on the market and holds a block size of 8MB. To compare, Bitcoin’s block size is just a mere 1MB. This means Bitcoin Cash processes at faster speeds for its users.

Litecoin: A peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and open-source software project released under the MIT/X11 license. Litecoin is nearly identical to Bitcoin. Created by Charlie Lee to improve on Bitcoin technology, with shorter transaction times, lower fees, and more concentrated miners. In May 2017, Litecoin became the first of the top 5 cryptocurrencies to adopt Segregated Witness – a soft fork implementation change in the transaction format of Bitcoin.

Ethereum: A decentralized, open-source blockchain with smart contract functionality developed by Vitalik Buterin. Ether (ETH) is the native cryptocurrency of the Ethereum platform. It is the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. Ethereum is also the most actively used blockchain. It focuses on decentralized applications (phone apps) – almost like an app store. Ethereum looks to return control of apps to its original creators instead of the middlemen (like Apple, for instance). The token name is Ether, which is used as currency by app developers and users.

Ripple: A real-time gross settlement system, currency exchange, and remittance network created by Ripple Labs Inc.  Ripple was released in 2012 upon a distributed open-source protocol that supports tokens representing fiat currency, cryptocurrency, commodities, or other units of value (frequent flier miles, for example). Ripple is geared more towards large companies and corporations than it is for individual users. Ripple is well known for its digital protocol because it allows large amounts of money in any form to be transferred.

Rise of Influencers and Success Tips

By Krishan Narsinghani

Over the course of the past few years, we’ve seen the term “influencer” unfold into a new category of jobs within the market. Influencers are essentially tastemakers of a certain genre that work prominently via digital platforms to shape a certain trend or lifestyle. We’ve seen influencers on social media, but it also stems further to where creators first started on YouTube and bloggers online.

We’ve even see influencers like ChadGoesDeep fight for influencer rights within the LA community, and reinforcing the fact that it’s a leading industry that hasn’t been been looked at properly in today’s society. Traackr, an influencer management platform, claims that seventy-two percent of notable brands dedicate a strong portion of their marketing spends to influencers.

With the rise of apps like TikTok (which claim they aren’t going anywhere in the US), the most downloaded app on the App Store, teens seem to become millionaires through quick viral moments that in return start a brand for themselves. Now we see influencers in the realms of food, auto, tech, music, fashion, travel and everything in-between. Cultivating your passion through social media can open more doors than you’d think.

Figuring out the algorithm has been a mystery to all. Here are some key tips to remember. Posts tend to do better in the morning/afternoon. Make sure your photos and videos are high res and collect post of your engagement on Instagram during the first to ensure it’s position towards the top of your fans’ feeds. Most importantly in today’s society, influencers need to curate original contest that is authentic. TikTok posts spark vitality with relatable or authentic content that distinguishes itself from all other platforms. It’s suggested to start posting on Triller as well.

With the overflow of new creator platforms and digital agencies, it can be hard to filter with are trustworthy and legit. Try using top choice platforms like Intellifluence that provides opportunities for all people regardless of the size of your social media accounts.
