COACH INTRODUCES COACH × MICHAEL B. JORDAN ‘BLUE THE GREAT: THE ART OF COLLABORATION’

Capsule Collection Designed in Collaboration with Michael B. Jordan and Blue the Great

Coach introduces Coach × Michael B. Jordan, its next collaboration with actor, producer and Coach men’s ambassador Michael B. Jordan. The capsule collection, titled ‘Blue the Great: The Art of Collaboration’ is a partnership between Coach, Jordan and his friend, LA-based artist and painter Blue the Great. The collection and campaign recontextualize inclusivity in art—using the house’s heritage as a canvas to spotlight the importance of collaboration and friendship amongst the two artists––and the creative community at large.

Inspired by Jordan’s personal approach to style and Blue’s contemporary take on art, the all-gender collection of ready-to-wear, footwear, bags and accessories combines the house’s heritage in craftsmanship with sportswear and streetwear in a limited edition drop. It features Coach’s iconic codes—Signature and Rexy—updated with Blue’s trademark mummy-wrapped art, as well as a tote crafted of 100 percent recycled materials.

To introduce the collection, Coach will release a campaign photographed by frequent Coach collaborator Shaniqwa Jarvis. Featuring portraits of Jordan, Blue and friends, Khat and Frank Brim (beauty and lifestyle influencers) and Tori Kirihara (artist) in an “open door” art gallery, the story repositions this traditionally exclusive place as a venue for collaboration and authentic connection. Inspired by the inclusive and optimistic spirit of New York and Coach, the campaign continues the house’s tradition of spotlighting the voices of up-and-coming and under-represented artists in its storytelling.

“We had worked with Blue as part of our Spring 2021 campaign, so I was excited to partner with him and Michael on this special collection,” said Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers. “Mike and Blue have a great friendship, grounded in mutual respect for each other’s artistic approach. The combination brought originality, dimension and significance to this collection.”

“I’ve been painting since I was a kid. It’s crazy and pretty exciting to be able put my spin on such an iconic brand like Coach. Whenever art and fashion mix exciting things can happen,” said Blue the Great.

Medjet COVID-19 Air Medical Transport Benefits

Medjet, the industry leading air medical transport and travel security membership program, announced today that it has expanded its transport benefits for COVID-19. Effective today, Medjet members who fall ill from COVID-19, and become hospitalized while traveling globally, may now be transported to a home hospital of their choice. In October of 2020, Medjet was the first program of its kind to add COVID-19 transport benefits, but previously had limited transport services to travel within the US, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

“As more and more countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America have opened their borders to travelers, we have increased our COVID-19 transport capabilities. Our members’ safety is always our top priority, and we continually evolve our services based on member needs,” said Mike Hallman, CEO of Medjet.

The expansion of global benefits will not increase Medjet membership prices, and benefits are applicable to both existing and new MedjetAssist and MedjetHorizon memberships as of July 12, 2021.

“While COVID is still a top concern for travelers, our own internal polling (in May) also showed that members were still very concerned with all the other accidents and illnesses that kept us busy pre-COVID. I think there’s now a heightened awareness of vulnerability, overall, while away from home. We hope that being able to get members back from more destinations, even for COVID, gives them the confidence to enjoy traveling again,” said Hallman.

Despite the increased cost of providing transport for a COVID-19 positive member, Medjet will continue to absorb 100% of all costs associated with the transport, and maintain its “no cost caps on transports” policy. A regular air ambulance transport can cost up to $30,000 domestically, and up to $180,000 internationally. Medjet memberships start at $99.

Updates and restrictions surrounding COVID-19 transport benefits can be found here. Full Medjet rules and regulations can be found here.

ABOUT MEDJET

Medjet was the first company in the U.S. to implement the air-medical transport membership concept. Since 1991, Medjet has forged a global network of air medical transport and security response providers to meet traveler health and safety needs. At any given time, Medjet has access to hundreds of air ambulances, commercial medical escorts, and highly trained security and crisis response personnel, ready to launch from both domestic and international locations. The company most notably differentiates from other players in the market through its commitment to arrange air medical transfer, regardless of medical necessity, to the member’s hospital of choice in their home country. It is the preferred program for virtually every major luxury travel consortia (Virtuoso, Signature, Westa), and thousands of organizations including AARP, Morgan Stanley, and the NFL.

Medjet memberships are available to residents of the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and protect members while traveling 150 miles or more from their primary residence (domestic and international travel benefits).

NEYMAR JR’S OFF-PITCH STYLE GETS A WILD NEW LOOK

PUMA surprises with a new style to its popular Rider franchise, the Wild Rider. Neymar Jr’s favorite new shoe off-pitch was inspired by the movement and motion of city life.

PUMA ambassador Neymar Jr. is always pushing himself forward, making the Wild Rider the perfect shoe for his first major lifestyle campaign with PUMA. Not only is he known for his accolades on the pitch, but his style off the pitch also draws a lot of interest. As someone who is changing the game, he embodies the theme of the shoe, made to celebrate youth culture and mobility.

“As someone who loves streetwear, I was thrilled when PUMA approached me about being the face of a shoe outside of football,” said Neymar Jr. “You won’t take the Wild Rider off; I’ve been wearing it non-stop. É o meu favorito!”

This Wild Rider brings a whole new dimension to the Rider family, with fresh layers of material and futuristic circles at the midsole. Its premium design is inspired by the movement and motion of city life – always going forward, further, faster, and beyond.

“We consider the Rider family to be very much a constant evolving conversation; what started the Future Rider, which was very much linked to the Easy Rider II, has progressed into something that can stand on its own without being too obvious to the original inspiration,” says Danny Taylor, Design Lead Sportstyle Footwear. “With each release we are able to push the Rider product language forward, constantly evolving it season by season.”

The Wild Rider continues to play with PUMA’s futro design language. Taking archive inspiration from the Rider OG and elements from a ‘90s track spike, the design is a ‘collage’ of past and future melted together. The progressive design language of the Wild Rider includes unique design finishes like a formstrip that flows into a heel pull, “Designed by PUMA” emblazoned across the back, and the back of heel also juts out from a futro inspired accent, further playing on the idea of motion that serves as inspiration for the shoe. This drop features a nylon upper with suede overlays and a leather formstrip, along with TPU details on eyelet and heel and the signature Rider foam.

The Wild Rider, retailing for $100, will be releasing starting May 28 at select retailers, on PUMA and at the PUMA NYC Flagship store.
