JOAN ARMATRADING — “NATURAL RHYTHM” LYRIC VIDEO

Directed by animator, filmmaker Halo Jones (Kylie Minogue, Seasick Steve, St Etienne), the cheerful and colorful new lyric video for the song “Natural Rhythm” by Joan Armatrading is an uplifting upbeat visual perfectly reflected by the sheer exuberance of the children animated therein. You can watch the new video HERE.

If the classical fluidity of the two dancers perfectly complemented the lyrics of the video for the first single, “Already There,” then this lyric video is the perfect accompaniment to the second, “Natural Rhythm.”

“Natural Rhythm” is the second single from Armatrading’s acclaimed new album Consequences (BMG), which has received high praise from the press. You can stream and purchase Consequences HERE.

“Juxtaposing layers of crisp riffs and rhythms while wielding a voice that can dive into a hearty contralto or leap upward to radiate fragility and tenderness” – The New York Times

“Consequences finds her at the peak of her game” – Rolling Stone

“Uncompromising artistic vision” – Yahoo!

Joan Armatrading has maintained her introspective songwriting and moving vocals while navigating through a variety of genres.” – The Wall Street Journal

KASH DOLL – LIKE A PRO FT. JUICY J

KASH DOLL RELEASES NEW TRACK & LYRIC VIDEO “LIKE A PRO” FEAT. JUICY J

Stars in 50 Cent’s New Starz Series ‘Black Mafia Family Out September 26

“Kash Doll is sharp, headstrong and savvy” – Billboard
“One of the most promising acts of female rap’s current class” – Nylon
“Kash Doll has established herself as a pioneering force in the industry.”– MTV
“Kash Doll has established herself as one of hip-hop’s leading female voices.” – XXL

Gold-selling Detroit rapper, entrepreneur, and actress Kash Doll drops her new track and lyric video “Like A Pro” feat. Juicy J via Republic Records.

As always, she comes through with the kind of raw lyrical fire that’s too hot to touch. Over a high-energy throwback beat, she delivers one raunchy and braggadocious bar after another with Juicy J joining her on the catchy hook.

Her most recent single Thumbin has already racked up millions of streams to date. Additionally, HotNewHipHop praised the track’s “addictive chorus and copious amounts of quotable lyrics, while hailing it as “the next big hit on short-form video sharing platforms like TikTok and Triller.

The track arrived on the heels of her knockout collaboration with DJ Famous—“Bad Azz” feat. Mulatto & Benny The Butcher, which has amassed 9 million streams and counting. Beyond features from REVOLT, Pitchfork, Brooklyn Vegan and more, UPROXX claimed, “Kash Doll, DJ Infamous, Mulatto, and Benny The Butcher show why the competition is mad with ‘Bad Azz.’”

Kash Doll, who has garnered over 1 billion streams worldwide since signing with Republic Records, continues to pull up everywhere this year. She features on Saweetie’s “Hoops” alongside the legendary Salt-N-Pepa from the mega-anticipated Space Jam: A New Legacy Soundtrack. She’ll take the stage at Detroit Summer Fest on August 13, Migos “Culture III” Las Vegas Weekender on October 15 and Rolling Loud LA on December 10. She will appear in a starring recurring role on STARZ’ Black Mafia Family, which will premiere on September 26.

Kash Doll continues to make waves. Receiving critical acclaim from Vulture and Marie Claire, Essence praised, “If there’s one rapper who can teach us a thing or two about remaining confident, it’s Kash Doll.” Meanwhile, she guested on “Friday Night Cypher” from Big Sean’s chart-dominating Detroit 2 and joined forces with HoodCelebrityy for “So Pretty.”

Detroit native Kash Doll has impacted the music industry with a commanding force, dropping street-earned truths with her throwback wordplay and powerful bars. The one-two combination of spirit and sass announced her as fiery female force in 2019 after quietly amassing 30 million-plus on-demand streams, garnering the BMI Social Star Award and “Issa Wave Award” at the BET Social Awards, securing a new management deal with Title 9 Productions and inking a recording contract with Republic Records. An unbelievable story brought her to this point. Losing her dad on just her first birthday, she always held down multiple jobs to support her mom and siblings. And at 18, she started investing in herself eventually opening two beauty bars and funding her own music career. She made waves on the 2014 independent debut mixtape, Keisha Vs. Kash Doll. Following 2016’s Trapped In The Dollhouse, she developed a presence as a touring force and earned coveted co-signs from Drake, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Remy Ma, and many more. The 2018 The Vault mixtape captured #1 on multiple mixtape sites as her debut single for Republic Records “Ice Me Out” and its 2 Chainz-assisted official remix clocked 85 million-plus total streams.

Last year, Kash Doll also released a project solely for her fans titled Brat Mail to thank them for all their continued support. The project garnered over 30 million global streams and features the break out single “Check.” Shortly before Brat Mail, Kash released one of her biggest singles to date, “For Everybody,” which racked up over 101 million YouTube/VEVO views independently. Outside of music, this boss runs Kash Doll Enterprises and does charity work around her hometown. Her city bestowed the “Spirit of Detroit” Award upon her. Additionally, in 2019, Kash Doll released her debut album Stacked, received a 2019 BET Award nomination for “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist,” garnered critical acclaim for her album from BillboardMTV, UPROXX, BETForbes, Nylon and more and toured with Meek Mill. This year will be full of brand new music, acting and more from the Detroit star.

Flora Cash shares new single – Chronically Beautiful

RIAA platinum-certified indie-pop duo Flora Cash has today unveiled a tender and reflective new single. “Chronically Beautiful” is available now via the Swedish/American band’s own Flower Money Records at all DSPs and streaming services.

“’Chronically Beautiful’ was sparked when we were having a conversation about what it means to be beautiful,” says Flora Cash, “especially when looked at through the lens of real love. It’s not an acute, momentary perception; it’s the feeling that the person you love; the person that you waited your whole life for has a beauty that transcends any given moment and isn’t dependent on what they happen to be wearing or how their face looks that day or week or month; they’re chronically beautiful.”

“Chronically Beautiful” marks the latest new music from Flora Cash following the arrival earlier this year of the poignant new single, “Soul Mate,” available now for streaming and download. Now boasting more than 2.5M worldwide streams thus far, the track is joined by an equally powerful official music video streaming now here.

Flora Cash was born in 2012 when Minneapolis-native Cole Randall uploaded his music to Soundcloud and caught the attention of Sweden-based Shpresa Lleshaj. The pair soon began playing music together, forming a relationship that would eventually blossom into marriage. A series of independent releases were followed by an acclaimed seven-song mini-LP, Can Summer Love Last Forever?, in March 2016. Flora Cash’s full-length debut album, Nothing Lasts Forever (And It’s Fine), arrived the following year, highlighted by the global smash single, “You’re Somebody Else.” First released in 2017, the RIAA platinum-certified single has proven a true viral phenomenon, currently boasting over 250M worldwide streams while ranking as one of Shazam’s Most Shazamed Alternative Songs in both 2019 and 2020. Hailed by Forbes as “arguably the most intriguing song on the radio this past year,” “You’re Somebody Else” was equally popular at multi-format outlets nationwide, reaching #1 at Alternative and Triple-A while also ascending to the top 5 on Billboard’s “Hot Rock Songs” chart. The track – which has also inspired countless TikTok videos in recent months – is joined by an official lyric video, now with over 133M views via YouTube alone.

As creative and engaging onstage as they are in the studio, Flora Cash lit up stages around the world with a wide range of international live dates, including tours alongside Sir Sly, Joywave, lovelytheband, Judah & the Lion, and AJR as well as festival appearances at Life is Beautiful, Bumbershoot, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Hangout Music Fest, Firefly Music Festival, and the KROQ Weenie Roast & Luau, to name but a few. The duo is currently slated to perform at Hamburg, Germany’s MS Dockville 2021, set for Friday, August 13th; additional dates will be announced soon. For updates, please visit here.

In 2020, Flora Cash released their much-anticipated sophomore album, Baby, It’s Okay, highlighted by the hit singles, “Missing Home” and “They Own This Town” and praised by Atwood Magazine for its “stunning display of stripped back, emotive songwriting, minimal introductions and impressive vocal lines are laced over lush, electro-pop instrumentals as delicate as they are organic, all delving into relational themes…a stunning second album.”

“Well-thought-out, congruent, and brilliantly detailed, Flora Cash explores themes such as post-breakup blues and coming to terms with oneself, all coated in melancholic and bittersweet vibes.” – ATWOOD MAGAZINE

“A sound that’s equal parts earthy and ethereal” – SUBSTREAM

“Bitingly bittersweet (Flora Cash’s) crystalline guitar and spine-tingling melodies give voice to that feeling of emptiness that’s recently become all-too-familiar.” – THE LINE OF BEST FIT

“Alongside artists like Billie Eilish, Maggie Rogers, and Francis and the Lights, Flora Cash is on the front lines of modern musicians redefining alt-pop by injecting their music with heartfelt conviction.” – EARMILK

Jenna Kyle × Ojos

LA-based indie-pop artist, Jenna Kyle shares the title track, “Ojos,” from her debut EP today, along with a lyric video. This new bop is the second single from the Ojos EP, will arrive on September 3, 2021. The track represents a new era for the Los Angeles-based singer/ songwriter, producer and live electronic artist, who has actively been leaving her mark as one of the 2% of female music producers in the industry. Jenna Kyle supports women’s rights and LGBTQ equality and stands with The Ally Coalition.

On the new single, Kyle says, “Ojos is the first song I wrote and produced myself. It’s surprising how few women are producing music still, but the doors are definitely open and there’s a strong group of us out here doing it! I vacillate between feeling enraged that there are so few women in the profession, while simultaneously feeling proud to help hold the torch for the next generation of female producers coming up, all while battling the imposter syndrome many of us feel when saying “I am a producer, I produced this myself!”

One of the ways Kyle has explored her newfound producer prowess is to integrate a multicultural world aesthetic that is so uniquely her own. Jenna Kyle’s forthcoming EP is influenced by her travels over the past several years and her long time partnership and collaboration with Brazilian / Argentine drummer Bruno Esrubilsky (Mitski, Hedwig and The Angry Inch, The Band Joseph), which contributed to a globally-minded sound and an influx of Spanish and Portuguese lyrics.

She adds, “Over the past few years, pre-Covid, we toured through Southeast Asia, Europe, and visited South America every few months to be with family. I was immersed in the music and rhythms while meeting so many wonderful people. Language barriers can provide a new opportunity to communicate. You don’t need to understand every word I say to know what I mean. Exploring writing lyrics and poems in Spanish, which I’ve studied through college and since I was a kid, and Portuguese, which is a newer language for me, opened up a more creative process; there’s more room for experimentation within the new rhyme schemes. I don’t get as caught up on a word being cliche. Ojos and all my new music feels like an opening of sound and mind as a direct result of the freedom from self-imposed language constraints, and deepening my skills as a producer.”

The track caught the attention of DJ/producer Sinego, who created a dark, organic house mix of “Ojos,” called La Noche Mix which will be released July 28. This collaboration highlights Kyle’s love of production and connection and takes the track to new places.

The debut single from the EP, “Tell Me,” is also streaming everywhere now along with a new video. “Tell Me” is a capstone of Kyle’s experience of trying on different personas and processes and the video explores the way people present themselves to the world. Kyle co-produced the new single with BAILE(Anjunadeep) and Grant Zubritsky (Verite, Nick Murphy) mostly remotely in their respective Brooklyn studios.

The accompanying music video emerged as an exploration with director Jay Harwood, art director Gina Schiappacasse and choreographer Cesar Brodermann. Kyle strikes somewhat contorted poses in a rotating lineup of wearable art pieces, masks, and headpieces by Brooklyn staple artists including PJ Linden and Max Steiner, nodding to the Tik-Tok and Instagram obsession culture weߣre all trapped in, as she sings ironically “Tell me what to wear, tell me what to think, tell me what to feel inside.”

After a handful of singles, Kyle is carving out her pocket of indie-pop that’s rooted in self-expression with a context that she defines. Her music is a permission slip for others to find their inner voice and go deeply into the heart space that seeks no confirmation or praise, where the goal is to express and not impress. Stay tuned for Ojos, the debut EP, due out this September.

TOBi Off The Drugs album cover fro Sarah Weinstein Dennison, RCA Records for use by 360 Magazine

TOBi × Mick Jenkins – Off The Drugs

Winner of the 2021 Juno Award for Best Rap Recording of the Year for his project Elements, Vol. 1, Canada-raised/Nigeria-born TOBi and Mick Jenkins today release an old school groove “Off The Drugs” via Same Plate/RCA Records.

Listen/watch the lyric video here.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, TOBi says, “When I smoke, I see things clearer and I’m way more aware. So I’m intentional about how I use it. I think more money should go into researching things like cannabis and mushrooms for their healing properties. Just the way I look at it, so many things are actually drugs—alcohol, gambling, even social media cuz it affects brain chemistry, but all that shit is legal. Whereas things that can legitimately heal if properly understood and done correctly are stigmatized, it’s wild. Mick came thru and bodied the verse as he should, and we’ve got a video on the way too. I just wanna live life to the fullest and enjoy this while it lasts. Life to me is a good trip if you let it be.”

The slow burning track follows a handful of TOBi’s singles  “Come As You Are” featuring Baby Rose and “Don’t Touch!” which Complex heralded for its “smooth production…elevating (TOBi’s) empowered musings on the hairy side of the Black experience to new heights.”

His re-working of track “Family Matters” with Flo Milli was described as a “dynamic” and “impassioned reboot” (Atwood) and Highsnobiety declared it a “formidable pairing.”

ABOUT TOBi

TOBi released his music project ELEMENTS, Vol. 1 in fall 2020, heralded by the critics, combining hip-hop, R&B, soul, grime & Afrobeats. The project features some of TOBi’s favorite producers & musicians worldwide and embodies the sounds and music that have influenced his artistry. TOBi was voted by Complex Magazine as “a top artist to watch” and has received critical praise from Interview MagazinePitchfork, Vogue, Teen Vogue, L’Officiel, Paper, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Clash, OkayAfrica, Flaunt, Exclaim!, Refinery29, Essential Homme, COLORS, and many more. The rising star announced his partnership with Same Plate Entertainment/RCA Records last year and has enjoyed over 49 million streams globally. Prior to ELEMENTS, TOBi released his debut album STILL in May 2019 followed by a deluxe edition, exploring themes of vulnerability, post traumatic growth, self-reflection and masculinity in his time emigrating from Nigeria to Canada. STILL’s release was followed by two new singles “Holiday” produced by !llmind, “Paid,” the “City Blues Remix” featuring The Game, the “180 Remix” featuring Kemba and the “24” remix featuring all Torontonians SHAD, Haviah Mighty, Jazz Cartier and Ejji Smith.

Lance Carpenter × You’re Beautiful

#1 hit songwriter/singer Lance Carpenter releases his new single, “You’re Beautiful.” The song is the seventh single released off Carpenter’s ambitious project The Demo Sessions, where he’s releasing one song per month in 2021. The Demo Sessions includes 12 songs, 19 co-writers, 11 producers and 18 musicians.

In the story behind the song, Carpenter explains that this single is a departure from his traditional country sound as he didn’t intend to sing the song when he wrote it with fellow songwriters Steve Diamond and Pavel Dovgalyuk.

“We originally wrote the song for a European artist,” says Lance Carpenter. “We sent the demo with my vocal to the sound engineer in Germany and when the artist didn’t show up for his recording session, they took my demo vocal, mastered it as a dance mix and sent it back to us. We were blown away.”

Carpenter describes the single as an original song with a universal message of love and acceptance in a country dance mix perfect for the summer! Carpenter is asking fans to share their stories of who is beautiful in their lives on his socials.

“It’s so different from anything I’ve done before,” says Carpenter. “It was kind of a happy accident. I hope fans will enjoy it and dance!”

“You’re Beautiful” is now available on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music and more. Carpenter also created a very touching Lyric Video that is now available on his YouTube Channel.

Lance’s talent and passion for his craft was recently recognized as he was awarded Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2021 Arkansas Country Music Awards last month.

In addition, Lance Carpenter has launched Music Row Coach, an online mentoring community for artists and songwriters, where they can have access to Lance and other music industry veterans. The platform offers video lessons, exclusive workshops, and live coaching sessions to help artists understand the fundamentals of songwriting and the music business in order to succeed in their career.

“Music is my passion, but mentoring is my purpose,” says Lance Carpenter. “I want to open up doors that weren’t opened for me and I want to build doors that aren’t available now. I want to help others achieve their dreams.”

GAVIN JAMES – SOBER

GAVIN JAMES NEW SINGLE SOBER

Dublin-Based Artist Has Amassed More Than 1.5 Billion Combined Global Streams Across His Catalog

Gavin James, whose unassuming authenticity and songcraft have earned him 1.5 billion combined global streams and 32 international Platinum or Gold certifications, returns with his first new music of 2021: Sober. The single asks the timeless question: is this love fueled by intoxication or is it based on something more substantial?

Sober is a song about being in love with someone and then in the morning they all of a sudden don’t love you back,” explains Gavin James. “It’s pretty much about the sobering reality that you are not for them, and you’re left alone replaying the relationship in your head … so you’re sad about it and you sing it real loud with a piano.

There’s a bravery in exposing such vulnerability in a song and that’s matched by his judgement in deploying the full-strength of his emotive vocals only where it matters the most. Helping Gavin achieve his full potential on the track are some A-list collaborators. Production comes from Patrick Pyke Salmy and Ricardo Muñoz, who have been dominating charts across Europe with Zoe Wees hits Control and Girls Like Us. Sober was mixed by Mitch McCarthy (Olivia Rodrigo, drivers license).

Gavin has come a long way since he began busking on the streets of Dublin. From early favorites such as Always and Nervous (The Ooh Song) to recent releases Man on the Moon and Boxes, the 29-year-old’s talents have been embraced by numerous superstars. He has played shows with Niall Horan, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, while Jimin of BTS amassed 256 million likes when he sang along to Nervous on the South Korean streaming service V Live. Gavin’s most recent Boxes EP hit No. 1 on Ireland’s album and airplay charts last year. Touring internationally, he has sold over 250,000 tickets for his headline shows, including two nights at Dublin’s 13,000 capacity 3Arena. Noisey.com hailed Gavin as “a soulful singer-songwriter sure to make you feel less alone when you’re down in the dumps,” and Clash praised him as “tender, emotional, no mean talent.”

The song is the next chapter to be unveiled from his anxiously awaited full-length debut album, “Skyview,” due out this year and executive produced by Mike Dean

The track pairs a thumping bass line and flurry of funk guitar with a showstopping vocal performance. He delivers charismatic verses before igniting the instantly unshakable hook, “I don’t wanna stop, baby it’s our time.

“STOP” continues the journey that was set in CAMERAS ON,” released late last month. The conceptual lyric video shared today picks up where “CAMERAS ON” left off. While “CAMERAS ON depicts the story of AJ dealing with the darker sides of fame and his previous experiences with the content collective Team 10, the new lyric video finds him walking away from the cameras to the stage, depicting his passion and dedication to the music and what truly matters.  Stay tuned for the official music video, set to premiere soon.

With all of the songs releases from Skyview” thus far, we’ve seen AJ Mitchell truly coming into his own, showcasing his knack for great storytelling.

“When you listen to the album, I want you to feel nostalgic,” AJ says. “It really takes me home. At the same time, I want you to know more about who I am. Talking to the camera is unnatural for me. The best way for everybody to understand me is through my songs. I’m still just a kid who lives his life through music. There’s not a single day I don’t think about it or don’t want to run to my guitar, my piano, or my notepad and start writing.”

Since emerging in 2018, AJ Mitchell has consistently asserted himself as pop’s most dynamic new leading man. Averaging over 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify, he impressively leaped past the 1-billion stream mark within three years. In addition to being named a Vevo LIFT artist and MTV Push artist, Variety championed him on its “Young Hollywood” 2020 list. In 2019, his Slow Dance” EP yielded the gold-selling title track “Slow Dance” [feat. Ava Max]. Including the latter, he has logged four songs on the Top 40 at Pop Radio thus far. He’s also become  a trusted collaborator, recently joining forces with Cheat Codes for “Hate You + Love You.” Throughout 2020 he also collaborated with names like Elle Henderson, Steve Aoki, Captain Cuts, and more. Over the past year, he assembled his full-length debut Skyview” with the legendary Mike Dean as Executive Producer. Now, the cameras are on, and AJ Mitchell is ready to shine in 2021.
