Check out the video premiere on COMPLEX, watch the official video HERE and a live performance that debuted last week HERE

Since first breaking through with her boldly confident but carefree single Tomboy, which has generated 43 million views on YouTube (Watch HERE) and most recently covered by K-Pop super group Black Pink’s Lisa through a dance cover (Watch HERE) that has generated over 67 million views,  Destiny Rogers has staked her claim as an artist to watch. TOBi Off The Drugs album cover fro Sarah Weinstein Dennison, RCA Records for use by 360 Magazine

TOBi × Mick Jenkins – Off The Drugs

Winner of the 2021 Juno Award for Best Rap Recording of the Year for his project Elements, Vol. 1, Canada-raised/Nigeria-born TOBi and Mick Jenkins today release an old school groove “Off The Drugs” via Same Plate/RCA Records.

Listen/watch the lyric video here.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, TOBi says, “When I smoke, I see things clearer and I’m way more aware. So I’m intentional about how I use it. I think more money should go into researching things like cannabis and mushrooms for their healing properties. Just the way I look at it, so many things are actually drugs—alcohol, gambling, even social media cuz it affects brain chemistry, but all that shit is legal. Whereas things that can legitimately heal if properly understood and done correctly are stigmatized, it’s wild. Mick came thru and bodied the verse as he should, and we’ve got a video on the way too. I just wanna live life to the fullest and enjoy this while it lasts. Life to me is a good trip if you let it be.”

The slow burning track follows a handful of TOBi’s singles  “Come As You Are” featuring Baby Rose and “Don’t Touch!” which Complex heralded for its “smooth production…elevating (TOBi’s) empowered musings on the hairy side of the Black experience to new heights.”

His re-working of track “Family Matters” with Flo Milli was described as a “dynamic” and “impassioned reboot” (Atwood) and Highsnobiety declared it a “formidable pairing.”

ABOUT TOBi

TOBi released his music project ELEMENTS, Vol. 1 in fall 2020, heralded by the critics, combining hip-hop, R&B, soul, grime & Afrobeats. The project features some of TOBi’s favorite producers & musicians worldwide and embodies the sounds and music that have influenced his artistry. TOBi was voted by Complex Magazine as “a top artist to watch” and has received critical praise from Interview MagazinePitchfork, Vogue, Teen Vogue, L’Officiel, Paper, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Clash, OkayAfrica, Flaunt, Exclaim!, Refinery29, Essential Homme, COLORS, and many more. The rising star announced his partnership with Same Plate Entertainment/RCA Records last year and has enjoyed over 49 million streams globally. Prior to ELEMENTS, TOBi released his debut album STILL in May 2019 followed by a deluxe edition, exploring themes of vulnerability, post traumatic growth, self-reflection and masculinity in his time emigrating from Nigeria to Canada. STILL’s release was followed by two new singles “Holiday” produced by !llmind, “Paid,” the “City Blues Remix” featuring The Game, the “180 Remix” featuring Kemba and the “24” remix featuring all Torontonians SHAD, Haviah Mighty, Jazz Cartier and Ejji Smith.

TOBi has cited the work of Gil Scott-Heron, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, Marvin Gaye, Eartha Kitt, Florence and the Machine, and Andre 3000 as some of the artists who have inspired his work, particularly his lyrics.

PROTOJE In Search Of Lost Time album cover from Tiffany Mea - With Love PR, Sarah Weinstein Dennison - RCA Records Publicity for use by 360 Magazine

PROTOJE DROPS NEW VIDEO – SELF DEFENSE

One of today’s most influential reggae artists, Protoje, tells a tale of retribution in his brand new video for “Self Defense,” the single from his latest album In Search of Lost Time (In.Digg.Nation Collective/Six Course Music/RCA Records). The Jamaican lyricist addresses distrust in his country’s government and takes a vigilante approach to control the bad-minded people running the streets. The visual, directed by Rebecca Williams, shows a group of women taking matters into their own hands to expose a man of his horrific crime.

“This is one of my favorite songs from the album and I decided to do a video for it because I feel like I wanted it to be almost like a declaration or call to attention regarding how we treat our women, especially as men. I wanted the story to be told from a woman’s perspective – and that’s how I linked up with the director, Rebecca. She’s an awesome storyteller & I think she did a great job with this video,” Protoje states.

On the track, Protoje talks about the hypocrisies of a patriarchal system and how it supports domestic violence and abuse. “Me hear some man a say them rather rape than turn a gay. As if dem deh ting deh related in any way. You nuh see say a some sicko them mentality. The patriarchy propagate all of them fallacy. Even in the church the violation prevalent Jehovah, you nuh witness, tell me that no relevant. Dem deh business cyaa exist inna we regiment. A self-defense and we no hesitant.”

Protoje is no stranger calling out misogyny and has made a concerted effort to help shift that paradigm. Within his own industry, he has signed and supported an all-female roster of Jamaican artists including Sevana, Lila Iké and Jaz Elise through his label and artist management company In.Digg.Nation Collective to represent the full spectrum of talent that his island has to offer.

Protoje’s fifth studio album In Search of Lost Time stays in rotation since its release on August 28, 2020. He colored outside the lines for a cinematic, ethereal, multi-genre LP and executive produced the entire project and co-produced five out of the thirteen original tracks. Now the vinyl edition to In Search of Lost Time is available for pre-order with shipments expected in September.

His catalog consists of the following studio albums: Seven Year Itch (2011), The 8 Year Affair (2013), Ancient Future (2015) and A Matter Of Time (2018) and In Search Of Lost Time (2020). Tom Odell × monsters

Brit and Ivor Novello award winning songwriter, plus platinum-selling, chart-topping artist Tom Odell has released an acoustic version of his latest single “lose you again” from his forthcoming studio album monsters out July 9 via Sony Music U.K/RCA Records

After a dark period of mental health stalked most of his 2018 and 20119, Odell wrote his way through it, eventually letting down his guard and pouring his feelings into new music for his forthcoming fourth studio album monsters.

The new single from the new album is “lose you again,” a fragile, heart-breaking piano ballad balanced subtly within a contemporary production. The song is about a fractured relationship and challenges the taboo of men showing their feelings.   In the official video, Tom does an emotional performance set in an empty Wembley Stadium…a powerful metaphor for the song and our times.   Tom says “It was an absolute dream to shoot a music video at Wembley. When we asked, I was not expecting them to say yes, but they did!

Odell has been working as a musician in the public eye since he was 21 when his self- penned debut album Long Way Down, earned him a UK number one album, top 10 single (the epic “Another Love” which propelled him to global notice) as well as a Brit Award. A masterful performer, Tom has appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Graham Norton Show, Late Late Show with James Corden, Late Night with Seth Meyersand so many more.   Tom Odell has enjoyed over 2.6 billion streams, three UK top 5 albums including the platinum-selling, chart-topping Long Way Down; two UK top 10 singles, a 2013 Brit Award for Critic’s Choice and was awarded the prestigious Ivor Novello award for Songwriter of the Year.

Now, 30, it’s clear to Tom that the whirlwind around his debut kick started a work ethic that eventually became an obsession.  It reached an apex in September 2019 when Odell, fresh off touring his album Jubilee Road, left his home in London and went straight to LA to start writing the next album.  “Then this chronic anxiety that I’d had for a couple of years just got worse.” Odell woke up one morning “and I couldn’t do any more music.” He knew something had to change.  In the end he flew back home, went straight to his parent’s house and slowly got better.

Odell turned that challenging experience into this new album.  He also realized  his broader lyrical horizons needed to be matched by a musical expansion, with a lot of the songs on the album – created alongside songwriter Laurie Blundell and producer Miles James – leaning into a more electronic, bedroom pop sound that Odell has steadily become obsessed with over the last few years. This newfound love of DIY electronic pop chimed with the pandemic’s arrival and Odell crafted songs in a more threadbare way with instruments he had at hand, like Moog synths. It was a move underpinned by both necessity and a desire to explore. Eerie synths and head-rattling beats augment the sound.  While his new music is at times weighty, there is a lightness of touch that means Odell is able to pull off pop’s greatest trick of hiding sadness in the melodies.   In this strangest of times, this new music represents the start of chapter two in Odell’s ongoing musical journey.

As a testament to his enduring popularity, Tom Odell performed on BBC1 Graham Norton TV show (watch here) to launch his new album  and more recently he appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden with another intimate performance of first track “numb.”  At the same time, Odell’s fan base continues to grow exponentially with his new sound and direction. He has gained over 4 million new monthly listeners since the start of the year, with ⅔ of his audience under 25. Despite joining TikTok relatively recently, his heavily engaged videos have been viewed over 15 million times and his debut singleAnother Love has had a resurgence in popularity with a new generation – it has become a viral hit and re-entered the UK official singles charts and Spotify Global Chart.

Tom Odell recently announced live dates for his UK 2022 “the monsters tour.” Tickets are available at www.gigsandtours.com, www.ticketmaster.co.uk and www.axs.com.

*Fans pre-ordering the album (vinyl, cd, cassette and more) on Tom’s official website will guarantee first access to tickets.

JAZ ELISE “BREATHE” Cover from RCA Records Publicity for use by 360 Magazine

JAZ ELISE – BREATHE

Today, the Jamaican songstress Jaz Elise reveals visualizer for “Breathe,” the personal closer from her debut EP The Golden Hour (In.Digg.Nation Collective/Six Course Music/RCA Records). Growing up in Harbour View, a small coastal community of Kingston, the singer strolls down the shoreline to get some peace of mind over soft breezy jazz rhythms produced by  J.L.L. x iotosh. “Breathe” is a stripped-down reveal of how she deals with the stresses of life. “It’s a battlefield of my mind, but when it gets too heavy, I just need to breathe,” she sings.

Watch here.

“I was going through a very hard time some months back when I wrote this song. Breathe was a message to myself. It’s literally me singing to myself during a state of panic. I had internal feelings I couldn’t explain but know I needed to work through for my own mental health. This is a message to ourselves to just take it one step at a time and just breathe. Whatever your release is, find it and do it. For me it was music, reading, meditation and time with self. I hope this song soothes any troubled heart and soul and calms the mind of anyone suffering mentally. Remember to breathe. We can get through this,”  the singer explains.

Martin Garrix, Bono, The Edge via Louis Van Barr for Sony Music for use by 360 Magazine

Martin Garrix × Bobo × The Edge – We Are The People

Sony Music Netherlands/RCA Records today announce the release of the official UEFA EURO 2020 song “We Are The People” from Martin Garrix, featuring Bono and The Edge. The song is accompanied by an official music video starring all three artists. The visuals work in synergy with the song and together make for an uplifting and inspiring story.

Watch the music video HERE

With the track in the making for three years, Garrix had felt from the early stages of the creative process that Bono’s vocals would make the perfect fit for “We Are the People.” His vision came to life when both Bono and his U2 bandmate The Edge agreed to feature on the song. The collaboration evolved further with Bono writing the lyrics and creating melodies and The Edge adding the leading guitar riffs, resulting in a perfect blend of the signature sounds of each artist.

Martin Garrix said: “Creating the music for one of the biggest sports events in the world together with Bono and The Edge has been an incredible experience. I’m very proud of what we did together and excited to finally share it with the world!”

“We Are The People” reminds us that a song can address challenges facing the world at a given time and present a unified response. It is a hymn sheet from which we can all sing wherever we may come from, but especially in Europe where the UEFA tournament will capture the attention of the whole world. “We Are The People” hopes to reflect the positivity, hope and determination required for any team to succeed, as well as offer a sense of togetherness which fits the theme of UEFA EURO 2020: Unity. For the first time in EURO history, the tournament is being played across the continent, which will display the overriding theme of unity throughout.

Next to the official track, Garrix has also produced the official walkout and broadcast music for the tournament. Releasing on his 25th birthday, the song is a testament to his impressive march through the ranks of the music industry so far. Every UEFA EURO Championship since 1992 has had an official song with the likes of Nelly Furtado, Simply Red, and Enrique Iglesias providing the tournament’s soundtrack in the past.

“The long wait is almost over, and we are delighted to officially unveil the official song for UEFA EURO 2020: ‘We Are The People’, which features some of the world’s most celebrated artists in Martin Garrix, Bono and The Edge,” said UEFA marketing director Guy-Laurent Epstein.

“Football and music have the power of bringing people together. They are vectors of passion and emotion and combining them will extend further the fan celebration of the tournament, as well as reaching out to new audiences. With the star-studded line-up we have pulled together to create the tournament’s official music, we are confident of doing just this.”

UEFA EURO 2020 is being held across the continent for the first time in the competition’s history, with 11 host cities in all. Amsterdam, Baku, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Glasgow, London, Munich, Rome, Saint Petersburg and Seville will all host matches this summer with the first match kicking off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on June 11, 2021 with Turkey facing Italy. The final will take place at Wembley Stadium, London on July, 11 2021.

“Brilliant stuff here at the intersection King’s sassy roots-rock shtick, Lambert’s sassy country shtick, and the Nashville mainstream’s constant drift toward arena rock.”

Rolling Stone

“Firebrands King and Lambert hit one out of the bar with this singalong ode to handing your keys to the bartender and drinking all night because you don’t want to go home. The song will fuel a thousand karaoke nights and a million bridal parties, but it’s the cotton candy-colored video that really sells it, with King as a feisty bride and Lambert as the maid of honor who’s the first to spike the punch.”

“… an enjoyable glass-raising anthem, but it’s the way that the ‘Ex’s and Oh’s’ singer and country veteran complement one another on the track that denotes a longstanding bond, and an opportunity to listen in on their fun.”

Billboard

People

“Country superstar Miranda Lambert and rocker Elle King let loose for a wild-night duet …up-tempo anthem…features a driving rhythmic stomp and maxed out country-rock edge, mixing rolling banjos with party-all-night vocals. Lambert leads the rebellious second verse and also blends her vocal in with King’s gritty delivery throughout, and King says track’s devil-may-care attitude suits them both well.”

“…unapologetic anthem…a first pumping, banjo-led party song to rule any dance floor.”

“’Drunk’ is coasting at the top of the charts right now because the track crosses any sort of existing genre barriers – the long hailing queen of country revenge tales and the rock/pop King belting out how they’re both not ready to leave the cash bar just yet. It’s a wedding party we all want to be a part of.”
