NURKO – ETERNITY

On August 19, 2022, New York producer NURKO returns with soaring new single Eternity” featuring Dayce Williams, out via Astralwerks. Listen to the dreamy floor-filler HERE. The single is NURKO‘s first release since signing to the boundary-pushing electronic music label.

The wistful track finds vocalist Williams desperately attempting to salvage a relationship. “Tell me what you mean, I’m in the in-between,” he sings. “Isn’t it obvious that I wanna do you right?” Meanwhile, NURKO‘s production is slow-burning, growing from stripped-back, angelic string plucks into a whirlwind build and cascading drop. It’s an explosive backdrop to match the chorus’ impassioned refrain: “I’m praying for eternity.” Dreamy yet hard-hitting, “Eternity” proves that NURKO is already a master of emotionally rich electronic music.

The track follows the release of Arrival Remixes, a collection of artist remixes stemming from NURKO‘s debut EP Arrival, released back in March. The original EP-which includes singles “Disappearing Now” featuring Chandler Leighton and “Lost Without You” with Crystal Skies and KnownAsNat-earned rave reviews from the dance world, with EDM Identity calling it a “heart-fluttering masterpiece.”

NURKO broke through in 2021 with the biggest song of his career so far, “Sideways.” The collaboration with ILLENIUM and Valerie Broussard has already logged over 30 million Spotify streams. Fans can experience NURKO‘s cathartic tracks in person as he continues his cross-country U.S. travels. In addition to dates at Morrison, Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Hollywood’s Academy LA, he’ll be playing festivals including Bass Canyon, Lost Lands, Groove Cruise Cabo, and Freaky Deaky. LOYLE CARNER × HATE

London’s dominant lyricist, Loyle Carner, releases his new single “Hate,” a remarkable departure from anything he’s done before and a stunning beacon for everything to come. Stream “Hate” — HERE.

A bold, quantum leap forward from the critically and commercially successful UK Top 3 album, “Not Waving, But Drowning,” this is hardly music aiming simply for the pop charts; instead, it is turbo charged with the kind of fury and potency, confusion, and anxiety that make up the modern experience of being Black and British at this particular point in time. However, this is no mere philosophical exercise; the result is Carner’s most ambitious track. Powered by lush, almost cinematic production, it is a visceral no holds barred essay about lives lived in the cross-hairs of society, fuelled by fear, exhaustion, frustration, and political awakening. It’s a full-bore, high-stakes, facing-up-to-death riposte, as urgent as it is compelling. At its core, Carner is keen to remind us, “I fear the color of my skin/ I fear the color of my kin” – and here he’s driven to document every unsparing detail.

Loyle put it best, “One of the few songs made from a hateful place. I was angry at the world, frightened, and overwhelmed. It’s unfiltered. Really just a stream of consciousness that builds to an understanding that hate is rooted in fear. It reminds me of times the red mist takes over, and how alone you feel when the rest mist passes. Arrogant and self-righteous but at the same time vulnerable and somber. I listen to this one in my car at night. Especially after an argument when you need to get space and take a breath.”

Hate” comes accompanied by a powerful video shot by Carner himself alongside Greg Hackett, which feels like it perfectly distills the message of the track. Watch it HERE.

Of the many voices in music today, Carner’s is among the most vital and exciting, netting him Mercury and Brit Awards nominations and making him one of the most beloved artists on the UK music landscape.

Peking Duk × Slayyyter – Honest

The high-engery, Australian music duo Peking Duk start off 2022 with a bang, debuting their hot new single ‘Honest featuring the one and only Slayyyter.

Stream ‘Honest’ (feat. Slayyyter) HERE and catch the visualizer HERE.

The song was produced and written with the Australian likes of KLP. Illustrated as a pulsing dance hit sure to get you up out of your seat, the duo had a few words to say regarding the release of this hit. Peking Duk stated, “This song came together as a result of an impromptu jam we had after running 10ks and almost dying in the process. Heading straight into the studio we realized there was some fuego in the ideas we were recording and there was only one person to call to take it to the next level – KLP. We wrote the lyrics alongside the theme that the music created – A sweaty journey through thunder, mountaintops, marching to the drums and chanting as we follow each other. Slayyyter was down to jump on board and add her vocals to the mix and we couldn’t be more stoked with the magic that we now get to share with the world. Play it loud and scream it proud.”

The notarized duo has accumulated over 445 million streams internationally around a variety of streaming platforms combined with 27 million video views! There most noteworthy breakout hits include the 5 x platinum ‘Stranger,’ 4 x platinum ‘Fire’ and 3 x platinum ‘High.’
