Ski Mask The Slump God – Dr. Suess Video

SKI MASK THE SLUMP GOD DROPS NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR DR. SUESS

SIN CITY THE MIXTAPE OUT NOW

Coming out with a bang, critically acclaimed multiplatinum Florida spitter Ski Mask The Slump God drops the blockbuster music video for his new single Dr. Suess. It’s available on his tastemaker-approved, chart-busting 2021 project, Sin City The Mixtape [Victor Victor Worldwide/Republic Records]. Listen to Sin City The Mixtape—HERE.

Watch the Music Video for Dr. Suess HERE

The highly stylized cinematic clip nods directly to the 2005 big screen epic Sin City. In the visual directed by ROCK and EGG, Ski Mask The Slump God dons a suit with pure hitman swagger and exacts revenge on a list of enemies, crossing them out one at a time with each successive kill gorier than the last. It stands out as his biggest and boldest video to date.

Right out of the gate, Sin City The Mixtape bowed in the Top 40 of the Billboard Top 200. Plus, it vaulted into the Top 20 of the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart, marking his second Top 20 debut on the respective chart. Not to mention, it soared to #3 on the Spotify Charts Top 10 USA Album Debuts.

Additionally, it garnered widespread acclaim. Pitchfork hailed him as a rapper’s rapper, with a dense chopper flow, and promised, If you look hard enough, you can hear his sincerity, struggle, and pain. HYPEBEAST celebrated the project as filled with the same kind of wild and menacing energy that Robert Rodriguez’s adaptation is comprised of, and HotNewHipHop raved, his familiar aggressive delivery is on full display. UPROXX urged, with such a tight concept and sharp execution, it’s not one to be overlooked, but XXL put it best, It’s comeback season for Ski Mask The Slump God

Sin City The Mixtape notably marks his first body of work since 2018’s chart-topping gold-certified Stokeley. Living up to its namesake, he rips through these nine tracks with all the frenetic energy, ominous unpredictability, and epic scope of the Robert Rodriguez adaptation of Frank Miller’s classic graphic novel Sin City. Once again, his verbal acrobatics steal the show as he perverts pop culture references into pummeling rhymes on the likes of the single Admit It where Reptilian and Alice In Wonderland breathe the same contaminated air. Intro pairs a cracking, yet intimate vocal over the hum of a defibrillator, while clean guitar bleeds into an X-Men-worthy barrage on Mental Magneto and the acoustic Lost In Time spins depression into melodic bliss.

Check out the full tracklisting below.

Last year, Ski Mask The Slump God dropped the protest-anthem Burn The Hoods. The politically charged banger amassed north of 70 million streams thus far. Picking up critical acclaim, NPR claimed it captured the defiant, cathartic energy of a crowd of people tearing down a statue of a Confederate general.

Allow Ski Mask The Slump God to welcome you to Sin City The Mixtape now.

Stay tuned for much more soon!

ABOUT SKI MASK THE SLUMP GOD

Since emerging from the darkest corners of South Florida back in 2015, Ski Mask The Slump God has consistently pushed the limits of hip-hop with his lyrical dexterity, rhythmic unpredictability, and elite wordplay. He asserts himself as a rare rap force who defies categories and eras with unapologetic attitude and boss-level skill. Following a string of buzzing mixtapes, he seized #6 on the Billboard Top 200 with his 2018 full-length debut, Stokeley [Victor Victor Worldwide/Republic Records], which received acclaim from Pitchfork, XXL, and NME. Along the way, he also logged five platinum singles, Catch Me Outside, Take A Step Back, Nuketown, Babywipe, and Foot Fungus, in addition to the double-platinum banger Faucet Failure. Simultaneously, he dropped multiple joint tracks with the late XXXTentacion and collaborated with the likes of Lil Yachty, Higher Brothers, Denzel Curry, J. Cole’s DreamVille, and many more. Meanwhile, he made a statement in 2020 with the incendiary banger Burn The Hoods, which garnered praise from Complex and more. After gathering 3 billion-plus streams, Ski Mask The Slump God adds another dimension to his dynamic, dark, and deep world with the 2021 Sin City The Mixtape.

Glass Animals Announce Dreamland Tour

GLASS ANIMALS DELIVER SUNRISE PERFORMANCE OF ON GOOD MORNING AMERICA

HEAT WAVES RECENTLY PEAKED IN TOP 20 ON BILLBOARD HOT 100 CHART

SET TO EMBARK ON NORTH AMERICAN DREAMLAND TOUR THIS FALL

WATCH PERFORMANCE HERE

WATCH INTERVIEW  HERE

Yesterday, Glass Animals unveiled a stunning performance of their Platinum-Certified global hit Heat Waves on Good Morning America—watch their performance HERE and interview HERE! The band’s signature high-energy performance was shot remotely at Brighton’s iconic British Airways i360 observation tower during sunrise. Frontman Dave Bayley also spoke more about the song and its meaning with Good Morning America Digital—watch HERE.

Glass Animals have had a career-defining year with Heat Waves and their 2020 album, Dreamland. Not only did Heat Waves recently peak in the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart over a year after its original release date, but the band also performed the song during their first-ever U.S. awards show performance at Billboard Music Awards, were selected as Billboard Music Awards finalists for Top Rock Song: Heat Waves and Top Rock Album: Dreamland, and performed the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Ellen, and more.

Next month, Glass Animals will kick off their nearly sold-out North American Dreamland Tour, which sold over 135,000 tickets in the first 3 days of its on-sale. The run kicks off August 30th in Lewiston, NY and takes the band across North America well into 2022. The shows add to their already sold-out fall UK tour dates, previously announced 2022 Red Rocks shows, and confirmed festival performances at Bonnaroo, Life Is Beautiful, Firefly Festival, Outside Lands, and more.

Dreamland, the band’s hugely popular third full-length album, entered UK charts on its opening week at #2 (their highest ever scoring chart position, a massive 21 spots above their last album, Mercury Prize-nominated How To Be A Human Being) and charted inside the top 10 in the US (#7 on Billboard Top 200 Chart), Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. The album clocked up 160 million streams in its first week of release. Over the past year, Heat Waves was crowned #1 on Triple J’s Hottest 100—an accolade not given to a UK band since 2009 with previous winners including Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish—receiving a sync placement on FIFA, then an organic Minecraft affiliation, whereby the YouTuber LoverFella (2.61M subscribers) rebuilt a Glass Animals fan’s base and surprised her with a meet and greet with the band who were waiting inside. Watch it HERE and the Extended BTS HERE. Earlier this year, Heat Waves peaked at #1 on the Alternative Radio Chart for 3 consecutive weeks and in the Top 15 on the Top 40 Radio Chart, a first for Glass Animals in their career. It also held the #1 spot on the ARIA Official Singles Chart in Australia for 6 consecutive weeks, marking the band’s first #1 single globally. Heat Waves has had over 800 million combined streams to date, peaked at over 2 million daily streams, and has received over 31 million views of the video on YouTube.

The video, directed by Jason Lester, premiered today following a live Q&A with fans, and made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live and mtvU. The video is available to watch HERE.

Regarding the video, Michaels says “A lot of my fans know me as the awkward uncoordinated girl that has too many feelings. Well, I’m still that. But I got to shoot a music video where it was just me, in clothes that we’re so fun and way too tight and I loved every second of it! I’m still a long way from being a confident creature but I felt much closer to it when we shot this day. I hope everyone likes it and if anything, you find yourself dancing around too!”

BENEE – Snail

WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “SNAIL” HERE

“BENEE’s career is traveling at anything but a snail’s pace.” – Billboard
“‘Snail’ isn’t just a catchy pop bop, it’s a bid for world domination.” – Consequence of Sound
“Quirky but impeccably produced pop” – Stereogum
“Practically radiates sunshine” – PAPER Magazine

“It’s most definitely on repeat…” – V Magazine

“Bright and bouncy” – NYLON
“Offbeat bop” – Idolator

New Zealand’s platinum sensation BENEE unveils the official video for her latest single “Snail” today—watch it HERE!

For the visual, BENEE and director Anita Fontaine deliver a lush and larger-than-life fantasy befitting of the track. In the colorful clip, BENEE wakes up to feed her giant snail roommates and slides around their slime trails before heading to work in her secret elf lab. Soon, she’s cycling out of her home—a concrete replica of her own head—out into a storm. After being struck by lightning, our heroine turns into an elf and cruises through a mushroom wonderland under the glow of an aurora borealis-style blanket of colors across the sky. Reflective of her personality, it pops off as her biggest and boldest video to date.

Not to mention, “Snail” has already clocked nearly four million Spotify streams and received praise from Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, Consequence of Sound, Stereogum, UPROXX, NYLON, PAPER Magazine, V Magazine, NME, Clash, DIY, Dork, LADYGUNN, Idolator, Ones To Watch, This Song Is Sick and many more.

Of the inspiration behind the video, BENEE says, “I knew I wanted the vid to be a weird fantasy story involving snails! I said to Anita that I wanted to be an elf with long braids riding a bike and have giant mushrooms somewhere in the vid…She came back with the treatment, and I loved ittttttt! Her imagination is supa whacky in the best way, and I’m so happy with how ‘Snail’ turned out!”

Earlier this week, BENEE delivered a show-stopping performance of her breakthrough smash “Supalonely” on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers. Once again, she pulled out all of the stops with no shortage of surprises—watch it HERE. Plus, the songstress recently reached new heights with nominations at the MTV EMAs (PUSH Best New Artist Category), E! People’s Choice Awards (The New Artist of 2020 Category) and New Zealand’s Aotearoa Music Awards (Single of the Year, Best Solo Artist, Best Pop Artist).

Currently on her sold out headline tour across New Zealand, BENEE will be treating fans around the world to a very special livestream finale show from New Zealand’s Spark Arena on October 17th. This will be the world’s first livestreamed show in front of a sold out arena audience since concerts have returned in New Zealand. The show will be livestreamed and available to ticketholders on October 17th at 9:20pm NZDT, and a fuSll replay of the show will then be available on October 17th for fans globally at 1:00pm PDT/4:00pm EDT. For complete livestream and ticket information visit here.

Lastly, today BENEE announced the launch of Olive, her very own record label based in New Zealand. Her first signing is Muroki, a 19-year-old artist from Raglan, New Zealand, who is accompanying her on tour this month. Behind the scenes, BENEE is reveling in building a team with a fresh approach to music. Experienced label manager Trieste Douglas, formerly A&R for Universal NZ, has joined Olive, working with BENEE and Poppy Tohill from her management company, CRS. BENEE says, “The Olive team is already packed with some hardworking badass women, and I feel this is an important time for us in the music business to come together and make some really cool shit happen.”

Stay tuned for more exciting news from BENEE very soon!

ABOUT BENEE
From her hometown in Auckland, New Zealand, breakthrough popstar Stella Bennett, aka BENEE, remains unphased, unchanged and almost impervious to the cataclysmic success coming her way since releasing her debut EP, FIRE ON MARZZ, last summer. Already her tale is one of eye-watering statistics and achievements. Her story is international and expanding on the hour, across modern and traditional platforms. Her audience seems endless. BENEE, however, remains easygoing, centered and—most importantly—herself. It’s just over six months since the release of her second EP of 2019, STELLA & STEVE, garnered knockout reviews. Breakthrough track “Supalonely” is a slice of upbeat and original pop—like its creator, a little exotic and cheerfully weird. The song hits like a ray of sunshine, jammed to the hilt with personality and punctuated by BENEE’s verbal tics. BENEE’s music runs the gamut of everything pop can be in 2020 and is filled with her quirks in the experimental indie sounds and the cartoon-ish sprawl of her lyrical imagery. Her fans have a naturally intimate connection with her deceptively easy-going pop and that thing she still loves to call her “BENEE-VISION.”
