Machine Gun Kelly – lockdown sessions

Ahead of his upcoming album mainstream sellout (Bad Boy/Interscope Records) on March 25, rock dynamo Machine Gun Kelly serves up a new EP, lockdown sessions, out now. The EP bundles three viral hit tracks that showcase the versatility behind one of the era’s most impactful crossover hitmakers.

The three-pack includes “roll the windows up,” a fan-favorite track previously known as “smoke and drive.” The update comes with more than a name change, though. MGK tacked on a new verse and shot a music video for the song, featuring the superstar and his drummer, Rook, smoking in a car in a no-frills, straightforward clip that captures the homegrown essence of a project strictly for the fans. Watch the full clip HERE.

The EP kicks off what’s sure to be a whirlwind month for MGK, whose new song, “ay!” arrives this Friday, March 4. Audiences caught a sneak preview of it during his Feb. 24 performance on CBS’ The Late Late Show With James Corden in a medley of “maybe,” “ay!” and current single “emo girl,” with WILLOW. The latter continues to build on its scorching start, with over 30 million streams and racing to the top 25 on alternative radio. All three songs will appear on MGK’s sixth studio album, mainstream sellout, coming March 25. Pre-order the new album HERE.

MGK has dominated the live space in the past month by performing on some of sports’ biggest stages, beginning with a headlining slot at the 2022 NHL All-Star Game in Las Vegas, where delivered a scintillating halftime performance for hockey and rock enthusiasts. And in the lead-up to this year’s Super Bowl, he and Halsey united for a blockbuster teamup for a Bud Light sponsored show at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

About Sing 2

This holiday season, the new chapter in Illumination’s smash animated franchise arrives with big dreams and spectacular hit songs as the ever-optimistic Buster Moon and his all-star cast of performers prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza yet …all in the glittering entertainment capital of the world. There’s just one hitch: They first have to persuade the world’s most reclusive rock star—played by global music icon Bono, in his animated film debut—to join them.

Buster (Oscar® winner Matthew McConaughey) has turned the New Moon Theater into a local hit, but Buster has his eyes on a bigger prize: Debuting a new show at the Crystal Tower Theater in glamorous Redshore City.

But with no connections, Buster and his cast—including harried mother Rosita (Oscar® winner Reese Witherspoon), rocker Ash (Scarlett Johansson), earnest Johnny (Taron Egerton), shy Meena (Tori Kelly) and, of course, provocateur Gunter (Nick Kroll)—have to sneak their way into the world-famous Crystal Entertainment offices, run by ruthless mogul Jimmy Crystal (Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale).

In a desperate attempt to get Mr. Crystal’s attention, Gunter spontaneously pitches an outrageous idea that Buster quickly runs with, promising that their new show will star rock legend Clay Calloway (Bono). Problem is, Buster has never met Clay, an artist who shut himself away from the world more than a decade ago after the loss of his wife. Even worse, Buster has failed to realize that Mr. Crystal is an egocentric gangster who would rather drop somebody off the roof of a building than be lied to.

As Gunter helps Buster dream up an out-of-this-world theatrical masterpiece, and the pressure (and sinister threats) from Mr. Crystal mount, Rosita’s leading role in the show gets ripped away and handed to Mr. Crystal’s spoiled daughter, Porsha, played by Grammy-nominated artist Halsey. Desperate to save the show, and his life, Buster embarks on a quest to find Clay and persuade him to return to the stage.

What begins as a dream of big-time success becomes an emotional reminder of the power of music to heal even the most broken heart.

Sing 2 is written and directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Garth Jennings and features additional new characters played by music superstar Pharrell Williams, Black Panther’s Letitia Wright and comedians Eric André and Chelsea Peretti. The film is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and by Janet Healy. Sing 2 combines dozens of hit songs from pop to rock, K-pop to Latin, and from artists including Billie Eilish, Drake, U2, The Weeknd, Prince, Taylor Swift, BTS, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello. With electrifying performances, breathtaking artistry and Illumination’s signature humor and heart, Sing 2 is sure to be the definitive feel-good cinematic event of the year.

NESSA BARRETT — “i hope ur miserable until ur dead”

DEBUT PRETTY POISON EP ARRIVES ON SEPTEMBER 10

DELIVERS INTERNET-BREAKING SURPRISE PERFORMANCE AT LOLLAPALOOZA

Ready to make a major mark after gathering millions of streams and receiving widespread critical acclaim, rising singer-songwriter Nessa Barrett uncovers a new single and music video entitled “i hope ur miserable until ur dead” today. Listen to “i hope ur miserable until ur dead” HERE and watch the music video HERE.

Nessa delivers a Gen-Z grunge bop underlined by caustic guitars and a hypnotically spectral hook. Her voice teems with raw emotion as she lets everyone know exactly how she feels! In the accompanying video directed by the incomparable Hannah Lux Davis [Ariana Grande, Halsey], Nessa emerges from a television set Poltergeist-style in order to haunt a deserving ex with her undeniable presence (and totally stealable nineties prom goth looks).

Regarding the song, she said, “‘i hope ur miserable until ur dead’ is the anger you hold inside when people betray you—when people hurt you so bad and you unapologetically hope they get what they deserve.”

Most importantly, the song heralds the arrival of her debut pretty poison EP out September 10 on Warner Records. Pre-order pretty poison HERE. Illuminating the scope of her signature style, she leans into a lullaby melody on the darkly catchy “grave,” while “i wanna die” feels tailor-made for the closing credits of a classic nineties slasher flick. Her jazzy intonation adds raw emotion to “scare myself” as she admits, “Sometimes I even scare myself.” Over wobbling distortion on the title track “pretty poison,” she urges, “Say my name, say my name like you know it’s holy.”

Check out the full tracklisting below.

Nessa broke the internet last weekend when she joined jxdn for a surprise duet of “la di die” on the Main Stage at Lollapalooza. It immediately trended across social media, generating millions of impressions. Meanwhile, she continues to attract critical acclaim. Of her latest release “counting crimes,” Clash Music wrote, “The single itself showcases Barrett’s vocal power alongside a backdrop of guitar and piano overlaid with glitchy production.” In addition to plugs from the likes of UPSET Magazine and more, The Line of Best Fit hailed her as “On The Rise,” going on to rave, “She is the architect of her own, grunge-indebted netherworld, leaning into the pop-punk revival close enough to brush shoulders with it, and yet retaining an extraordinary sense of self that belies her eighteen years.”

Earlier this year, Nessa linked up with jxdn on “I’m Dead” as part of the Official Soundtrack for the new scripted podcast Prom In Hell, the four part horror-musical-comedy series which debuted as the #1 Apple Music Podcast in April. “I’m Dead” notably marks the second collaboration by Nessa and jxdn following their breakout hit “la di die,” produced by the legendary Travis Barker. The latter has already amassed over 200 million streams, cracked the Top 15 at alternative radio and reached #27 at top 40 radio. The duo made their late-night television debut performance with “la di die” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and also performed on The Ellen Degeneres Show. The song has received widespread acclaim from MTV, Elite Daily, Buzzfeed Radio.com and Nylon declared, “As the last line of ‘la di die’ says: She’s gonna be a superstar.”

Heavenly Reyna Releases Acoustic Version of Upcoming Single “EXIT”

Pop prodigy Heavenly Reyna has released the stripped-down, piano-driven version of her anticipated upcoming single “EXIT.” Press here to listen to the acoustic track, a quirky, pop-infused ballad which compares the pain of heartbreak to the agony of LA traffic. The accompanying video finds Heavenly with nothing but a piano as she reflects on the anguish left behind in the wake of a breakup. Press here to watch the “EXIT” acoustic video.

“As a trilingual artist, I love global stories that we can all relate to,” says Heavenly. “I’ve grown really fast on Twitch and ‘EXIT’ has always been one of my most popular songs there because everyone can relate to heartbreak and agonizing traffic. I like the juxtaposition of comparing a breakup to traffic as it adds a twist to the song.”

Heavenly celebrated the release of the acoustic version of “EXIT” with a special Twitch livestreamed release party which Twitch promoted on their front page. In addition to performances during the livestream, Heavenly partnered with Røde Microphone to host a giveaway for viewers that tuned in. Press here to view their Twitch channel.

Readying to step into her own, and previously releasing music under the moniker Mozart, “EXIT” marks Heavenly’s first release under her birth name. A prolific singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Heavenly has brought together her love of music and her diverse experiences into her songs including her previous single “Push You Harder,” an inspiring, female empowerment anthem about succeeding in the face of adversity which received acclaim from LA Weekly, Celeb Secrets, and Pasadena WeeklyPress here to watch the music video for the track which was written shortly after Heavenly’s 17th birthday and draws inspiration from strong women throughout history.

Raised in 48 countries as her family travelled the globe and documented their adventures as travel bloggers, Heavenly shared her experiences of how these ventures played an influential role in her life in a 2016 TED Talk. Using her music as a cultural bridge to bring people together through relatable storytelling that transcends individual cultures, Heavenly is fluent and crafts songs in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. She has gone viral on TikTok for performing covers of popular songs in a multitude of different languages, recently catapulted to over two million channel views on Twitch after becoming a partner, and headlined shows on her European solo tour.

Since kicking off her musical career as a teenager, Heavenly featured next to Ariana Grande in her “God is a Woman” music video, appeared on MTV songwriting with Bebe Rexha, was a featured singer in both Halsey’s and Lindsey Stirling’s documentaries, starred in in the Brat series The Talent Show, and was crowned the winner of the International Songwriting and Unsigned Artist competitions. Taking her talents into the world of acting, Heavenly also won a Best Actress Award for her dramatic lead in the film Rose, and recently starred in two new thrillers, Fame at a Deadly Cost and Glass Darkly.
