This extends to every aspect of Hangout, who focus much of their attention on social and environmental responsibility along with community engagement. This includes measures related to diversity, equity & inclusion, taking steps toward environmental sustainability, and supporting local charities. Still Woozy × That’s Life

Still Woozy premieres his new single and official video for That’s Life from his debut album, If This Isn’t Nice, I Don’t Know What Is.

One of the most inventive and multifaceted new voices in the alt-pop world, Still Woozy, returns today with his sweetly lovesick new track That’s Life, released via Still Woozy Productions/Interscope Records. It’s the fourth single from Still Woozy’s forthcoming full-length debut, If This Isn’t Nice, I Don’t Know What Is. The album is due out on August 13.

Wrapped in a glistening exterior, That’s Life captures the sensation of riding out life’s highs and lows. In creating the track, the Portland-based singer/songwriter/producer otherwise known as Sven Gamsky merged lush beats, big bass grooves, and heart-on-sleeve lyrics delivered in his tender vocals. The result is a bittersweet song revealing Still Woozy’s gift for spinning painful feelings into bright and sunny melody.

“This song is my attempt to make peace with life’s inconsistencies,” says Still Woozy.

Along with “That’s Life,” If This Isn’t Nice, I Don’t Know What Is will feature several previously released singles, including Kenny (hailed by Wonderland Magazine as “an intimate and imbued soundscape, filled with alt-pop sensibilities and chilled out vocals”), Rocky (a track that inspired This Song Is Sick to proclaim: “When it comes to the momentous lo-fi/indie pop boom that’s happening right now, Still Woozy is at the head of the pack”), and Window (praised by Earmilk as a “promising first step of the new decade that expands on his groovy DIY aesthetic while maintaining a touching intimacy”).

Gamsky grew up in the Bay Area and began playing guitar as a little kid. By middle school, he’d started writing his own songs, and later honed his guitar skills by playing in a math-rock band. After further developing his musicality by studying classical guitar and electronic music at UC Santa Cruz, he released his debut EP Lately in 2019. Featuring collaborations with Omar Apollo, the self-recorded five-song project includes singles like “Habit” (a track that’s now amassed over 113 million streams on Spotify). Over the years, Still Woozy has taken the stage at major festivals like Coachella, Governor’s Ball, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits, in addition to completing a sold-out North American headlining tour.

BUKU Music + Art Project, New Orleans’s premiere multi-faceted boutique music festival, announced the lineup for BUKU: Planet B, a one-time-only fall iteration of its flagship spring event. Planet B offers up an alternative way to dance through the rabbit-hole of BUKU on the banks of the Big Easy. Aiming to celebrate the resiliency of New Orleans and the triumphant return of live music, BUKU: Planet B is purposefully boutique in size but captures the expansive multi-genre curatorial ethos of BUKU, welcoming over 50 acts to its creative playground on October 22-23, 2021.

For the past decade, BUKU has fostered a boutique festival experience that proudly reflects the diverse and progressive subculture of New Orleans. It’s birthed the #BUKREWE, a community of festival lovers, carnival kings and queens, ragers and twerkers, that come in all shapes and sizes, flowing together along the banks of the Mississippi. Those in the know can attest to the wild costumes, unhinged self-expression, and myriad of personalities that set the BUKU vibe from start to finish and have made it one of North America’s most authentic places to party.

Continuing its melting pot approach to curation, BUKU: Planet B welcomes a lineup that spans genre and style. Topping the bill are some of modern music’s biggest stars like powerhouse hip-hop icon Megan Thee Stallion, melodic bass music’s ultimate champion Illenium, pop-punk vocalist Machine Gun Kelly, experimental rapper Playboi Carti, and Memphis rap chart-topper Pooh Shiesty

As you would expect in New Orleans, dancing takes center stage at Planet B with the cutting-edge eclecticism of producers Kaytranada and Jamie xx, Australian dance music producer and vocalist Alison Wonderland, and the trio of bass titans Zeds Dead, Subtronics, and SVDDEN DEATH: VOYD. Adding to the diverse vibe, Chris Lake and Purple Disco Machine will also treat the #BUKREWE to their discography of genre-defining house heaters.

Forward-thinking live performances remain in focus at Planet B with feel-good frequencies from singer Still Woozy, bone-crushing vibes from industrial rap/metal artist Ghostemane, next gen star British singer-songwriter and poet Arlo Parks, genre-bending rap/electro-pop performer Ashnikko, and high-energy rappers EARTHGANG, Flo Milli, slowthai, Yung Baby Tate, and $NOT.

As a barometer for the sounds taking over tomorrow, BUKU: Planet B welcomes breakout stars like Remi Wolf, Dua Saleh, Moore Kismet, VNSSA, 박혜진 Park Hye Jin, TVBOO and others, plus over 20 local New Orleans acts in an effort to showcase and support the local arts community, including the first festival performance by Pell’s GLBL WRMNG collective.

“For the past year, we’ve watched our fans step outside of their comfort zones and persevere through weird times,” said Dante DiPasquale, BUKU’s co-creator.  “PLANET B is the result of us being inspired by them to do the same, and all of us at Team BUKU are excited to finally party with them again.”

Set against the uniquely New Orleans backdrop of the haunting Market Street Power Plant and the historic grounds of the old TwiRoPa venue, Planet B aims to harness the chaos of the last year and release it in the form of raw creativity. Attendees will be guided between multiple stage environments, a dizzying landscape of art installations, street-artist performances, and a multitude of surprises. Fans may find themselves mesmerized by a local graffiti artist, enhancing their costume with a custom face painting, joining a marching band procession, catching a pop-up breakdancing crew or just hanging with friends while gazing at the New Orleans skyline. It’s an urban oasis as much about oddities and community as it is about the headliners.

Civic duty too remains at the heart of the BUKU spirit, as the event organizers continue their Social Responsibility Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment geared towards social justice, reducing the environmental impact of the event, and supporting New Orleans community organizations. BUKU doubled down on this commitment in 2020 alongside its charitable partner Upbeat Academy by launching their Take Action Project (“TAP”). Thus far, the project has completed three fan-mobilizing campaigns raising over $10,000 for racial justice, voting rights, and environmental sustainability organizations. BUKU will continue this mission in 2021 alongside Upbeat Academy, a non-profit that inspires and empowers New Orleans youth through music education, who also act as the beneficiary of proceeds from every ticket sold to BUKU or Planet B. Learn more about these programs here

BUKU: Planet B will be the ultimate release for music fans in dire need of connection and creative exploration. It will continue to provide an inclusive home for the technicolor characters that call New Orleans home while welcoming #BUKREWE far and wide to experience the city’s eccentric culture for themselves. Come and get it.

Still Woozy – BS

Psychedelic pop music sensation, Still Woozy (Sven Gamsky), writes/records and produces everything on his own. He shared his latest track/video called “BS” which features delightfully dazed vocals + Sven on a bike, motorcycle and HORSE, it’s pretty majestic. Stream it HERE.

On Thursday, Still Woozy released the new track BS with a playful video to accompany it. The whimsical video compliments the introspective lyrics of the song — the lyrics are reflective of him struggling with his brain but ultimately bringing the best version of himself to the people he loves.

ABOUT STILL WOOZY

Sven Gamsky, also known under the stage name Still Woozy, is an American singer/songwriter from Oakland, California. His music is released through the record label Still Woozy Productions Inc., under exclusive license to Interscope RecordsGamsky grew up in Moraga, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. He began recording his own music at the age of 13.

He has a signature sound that is truly irresistible; effortlessly fuses R&B, pop and funk. He’s also just a wacky artist who always has amazing visuals. Check out his last video for his song Window (where he samples Marvin Gaye) to see what I mean. He’s truly just an overall creative who makes fun music that makes you swoon. He also recently shared a dope cover of Tame Impala’sThe Less I Know, The Better.”

Still Woozy makes awesome psychedelic pop music and you may know him from his dreamy track “Goodie Bag” which has over 120m streams on Spotify.

Still Woozy – BS

Still Woozy’s new single, “BS,” is another homespun and heartfelt song from the technicolor mind of singer/songwriter Sven Gamsky. Out today via Still Woozy Productions/ Interscope Records, the track is a surreal sliver of pop centered around delightfully dazed vocals.  “BS” is available now at all digital retailers.

Like many of Still Woozy songs “BS” dives into Gamsky’s psyche while also offering listeners a way out of their own worries. Yes, the lyrics are about “struggling with his brain,” as he puts it, but they’re ultimately about bringing the best version of oneself to the people we love. The lush instrumental underscores that hope, shining warmth and light through the clouds of darker impulses. That sort of contrast is exactly what makes Still Woozy special, and it’s been his aim ever since he started writing songs as a kid in Northern California’s Bay Area. “I strive for this feeling of warmth to act as a buffer to some of those harsher feelings,” he says.

“BS” is Still Woozy’s second single of 2020, arriving in the misty wake of April’s “Window,” another luxuriant cut tinged with longing. These followed Still Woozy’s 2019 debut EP, Lately, which introduced the world to his emotional yet textured tracks. Blending acoustic sounds with delirious dabs of electronics, the EP showed off Gamsky’s affection for deftly psychedelic arrangements — his songs melt and swirl like crayons on a sidewalk in the summer.

That lighthearted, uncanny feeling is often echoed in the visuals Gamsky pairs with his songs, a trend that continues on the forthcoming video for “BS,” in which, among other trippy images, Gamsky smashes a brain with a mallet while floating in the clouds. It’s laidback and Lynchian in equal measure, which suits the beautiful contrasts at the center of his music. Watch the video for “BS” HERE.

Sameer Gadhia – Point of Origin

Sameer Gadhia, frontman for platinum selling rock band Young The Giant, is set to launch Point Of Origin, a spotlight feature highlighting hand-picked, culturally-diverse, musical discoveries in the alternative space, airing regularly on SiriusXM’s Alt Nation (ch.36), starting today.

Gadhia explains: “By its very definition, alternative music is supposed to challenge boundaries by providing new and unheard possibilities. Though the sonic landscape is diverse, the limelight has cast a vastly monochromatic field. I am living proof that this is not so, and my aim is to illuminate artists who express the truest definition of what alternative is and should be by identifying what connects us all to our shared love of music. Through this platform, I want to create opportunity for artists of color and help foster a divergent narrative for today and tomorrow’s alternative music scene.”

Hosted and curated by Gadhia, Point Of Originwill focus on one artist over a two-week period by granting heavy, on-air exposure to one song from the artist. This will also be accompanied by commentary from Gadhia on the hand-picked artist and song. The first artist to be featured is Pennsylvania-native and a Pigeons & Planes New Artist to Watch in 2020, binki, who describes his sound as “packed with equal parts riotous funk, cavalier rap, with a bratty-rock swagger.” After creating buzz across the blog circuit, touring with Benee and Still Woozy, binki’s “Sea Sick” will garner its first national radio airplay as the first featured song on Point of Origin. For more information, visit www.pointoforigin.world.

Gadhia had been called “one of the great contemporary rock voices” by The New York Times, he is the son of immigrants from Ahmadabad, India, who came to the U.S. in the 80’s shortly before he was born. Issues of culture and diversity have been something he’s ruminated on for most of his life, both consciously and subconsciously. The band’s 2016 album Home of the Strange deliberately honed in on the modern American immigrant story, a theme that was especially relevant to the quintet as they’re each from different ethnic backgrounds with most being immigrants themselves or first-generation Americans. Gadhia wrote about balancing the two very different worlds of his ethnicity and nationality in an editorial piece for Salon (read HERE), and also had an in-depth conversation with NPR’s Ailsa Chang on the topic for “Weekend Edition” (listen/see HERE).

Young the Giant is currently writing and recording music for their next album, much of which was chronicled in the band’s “Song A Day” project which sees band members sharing music clips with each other over Instagram, culminating with a completed song each Saturday. Fans can watch the process in their Instagram highlights HERE.
SiriusXM subscribers can listen to Alt Nation (ch. 36) and other channels on SiriusXM radios, and those with streaming access can listen online, on-the-go with the SiriusXM mobile app and at home on a wide variety of connected devices, including smart TVs, devices with Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant, Apple TV, PlayStation, Roku, Sonos speakers and more. The SiriusXM app also offers additional features such as SiriusXM video, Personalized Stations Powered by Pandora that listeners can curate themselves, and an On Demand library with more than 10,000 hours of archived shows, exclusive music performances, interviews and audio documentaries.
