FLETCHER – Becky’s So Hot

Today, critically acclaimed queer icon FLETCHER premieres the ferverish video for her new single “Becky’s So Hot” — a thrillingly intimate portrait of lusting after her ex’s new girlfriend and the latest single from her forthcoming debut album Girl Of My Dreams — due out via Capitol Records on September 16.

Directed by Millicent Hailes (an artist/filmmaker who’s also worked with Billie Eilish, Tinashe, and Pussy Riot), the video for “Becky’s So Hot” co-stars Bella Thorne as the recipient of FLETCHER’s fascination. In a series of dreamscape-like vignettes (including FLETCHER blissfully alone in bed, then tearing through the city on a speeding motorcycle), the visual fully immerses its viewer in the hyper-saturated eroticism of FLETCHER’s interior life. Partly inspired by the moody futurism of Blade Runner 2049“Becky’s So Hot” ultimately blurs the edges of fantasy and reality to glorious effect.

Watch the video HERE

“Becky’s So Hot” sets FLETCHER’s expression of desire to an intense sonic backdrop (scorching guitar work, trembling rhythms, fiercely pounding drums) with production by long-time collaborator One Love and newcomer Pink Slip. With its dizzying collision of longing and frustration, jealousy and pleasure, the track affirms FLETCHER’s gift for bringing the most nuanced emotions to wildly dazzling life (from the chorus: “Are you in love like we were?/If I were you I’d probably keep her/Makes me wanna hit her when I see her/’Cause Becky’s so hot in your vintage T-shirt”).

The single hit #3 on the iTunes chart across all genres, trended on Genius and Twitter and has already amassed over 5 million global streams.  V Magazine said, “Backed by soaring guitars and intense drums, “Becky’s So Hot” is a dizzying expression of heartbreak, longing, and moving on.” Billboard declares, “with an undeniably catchy hook and head bang-worthy bridge, Fletcher’s petty era is already proving to be as iconic as one would hope.” Teen Vogue included the track in their “5 Best New Singles of the Week,” and Euphoria raved, “the punk-inspired bop is definitely one of the best songs of the summer and it will be sung by thousands because, let’s be honest, we all have an ex dating a Becky who’s so hot it makes you wanna know how she tastes.”

“Becky’s So Hot” arrives as the follow-up to the June track Her Body Is Bible. Executive-produced by Malay (Frank Ocean, Lorde) — who also helmed FLETCHER’s you ruined new york city for me and THE S(EX) TAPES, a 2020 EP that hit No. 1 on iTunes across all genres — Girl Of My Dreams reveals her inner world more fearlessly than ever before, documenting the deeply transformative experiences on her way to self-discovery. FLETCHER – NEW SINGLE

Critically acclaimed queer icon FLETCHER shares her new single Becky’s So Hot; a thrillingly intimate portrait of lusting after her ex’s new girlfriend. The track is the latest single from her forthcoming debut album Girl Of My Dreams, due out via Capitol Records on September 16. Download/stream Becky’s So Hot HERE.

Built on a feverish vocal performance from FLETCHERBecky’s So Hot explores a particularly complex form of passion.

Says FLETCHER, I wrote Becky’s So Hot a couple years ago after I was creeping on my ex’s new girlfriend’s Instagram while I was in the studio. I accidentally liked a picture of her wearing a vintage t-shirt of my ex’s, one that I’ve worn before. The complexities of moving on were something I wanted to explore and it felt more interesting to me to write something from the perspective of being in awe of her; sort of like damn it kinda stings that she’s so hot, but I can’t even be mad about it because I get it, she’s hot. Girl Of My Dreams picks up where THE S(EX) TAPES leaves off and weaves through my dreams, fears, fantasies, messy moments, and all the fleeting feelings in between. It paints a picture of how pain can evolve and so can you.

Becky’s So Hot sets FLETCHER‘s expression of desire to an intense sonic backdrop (scorching guitar work, trembling rhythms, fiercely pounding drums) with production by long-time collaborator One Love and newcomer Pink Slip. With its dizzying collision of longing and frustration, jealousy and pleasure, the track affirms FLETCHER‘s gift for bringing the most nuanced emotions to wildly dazzling life (from the chorus: Are you in love like we were?/If I were you I’d probably keep her/Makes me wanna hit her when I see her/Cause Becky’s so hot in your vintage T-shirt.

The second song released from Girl Of My DreamsBecky’s So Hot arrives as the follow-up to Her Body Is Bible (a June release praised by EUPHORIA as a sexy yet emotional single that shows the tenderness of a WLW relationship using religious themes that she manages to give a complete 180-turn to). Executive-produced by Malay (Frank Ocean, Lorde) who also helmed FLETCHER‘s you ruined new york city for me and THE S(EX) TAPES, a 2020 EP that hit No. 1 on iTunes across all genres Girl Of My Dreams reveals her inner world more fearlessly than ever before, documenting the deeply transformative experiences on her way to self-discovery. KITO – BLOSSOM

KITO’S NEW EP, BLOSSOM, SET FOR RELEASE ON NOVEMBER 5 VIA ASTRALWERKS

Featuring BROODS, Terror Jr, ZHU, Jeremih, Bea Miller, VanJess & Channel Tres

On the heels of her first RIAA Gold certification as a listed artist, Astralwerks artist Kito announces the November 5 release of her new EP, Blossom, and unveils the leadoff track from the seven-song set, Skin & Bones ft. Winona Oak. Lush and luminous, “Skin & Bones” is an infectious, deeply romantic slice of dance-pop. Kito wrote the song with Sarah Aarons (Zedd, Alessia Cara, Maren Morris).

Born and raised in the Nordic forests of Sweden, Winona Oak first came to attention as a writer and featured artist on What So Not’s “Beautiful” and The Chainsmokers’ Gold-certified “Hope.” Her own debut single, “He Don’t Love Me,” was a runaway success, amassing 50 million streams across all platforms to date. Following her recent single “Old Insecurities” and her latest EP SHEwhich features the self-empowerment anthem “With Myself” and the stunning ballad “Piano in the Sky,” Winona Oak is currently at work on her debut album to be released next year.

She produced and co-wrote FLETCHER’s new single, girls girls girls, a bold reimagining of Katy Perry’s groundbreaking hit “I Kissed a Girl,” and earned acclaim for her remix of MARINA’s “Venus Fly Trap.”

Kito’s recent hits – “Follow” with ZHU and Jeremih, “Recap” with VanJess and Channel Tres, and “Steal My Clothes” ft. Bea Miller – shed light on the Australian-born, Los Angeles-based producer’s approach to futurist pop. All three tracks are included on Blossom, as well as new collaborations with BROODS “Locked On You” and Terror Jr “Tongue Tied.” See below for track listing.

Fletcher – Healing

FLETCHER DEBUTS THE OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR EMPOWERED NEW SINGLE HEALING WATCH HERE

FLETCHER debuts the official video for her new single Healing, a powerful anthem to reflect the times, one of self-awareness and discovery. Watch the video HERE and download/stream Healing HERE.

V Magazine said, In stunning new visuals co-directed by Fletcher and Ava Rikki, the rising artist enters a new era. Your next summer anthem has arrived… FLETCHER isn’t just a pop star but an artist and this music video is her testimony. A simplistic trap beat backgrounds (her) airy light vocals as she declares herself on the journey of self love and recovery, unlearning false self perceptions and entering the next phase of a glow-up journey.

Healing finds the acclaimed singer/songwriter reclaiming her interior resolve, making a natural progression from her critically-lauded EP THE S(EX) TAPES, a boldly personal project executive-produced by Malay (Lorde, Frank Ocean). Co-written with Scott Harris (Shawn Mendes, Khalid) and ALDAE (Justin Bieber, Kid Laroi), Healing is rooted in the raw emotional intimacy that FLETCHER is known for and offers her most gripping vocal performance to date.

NME said, ‘Healing’ (is) luminous…An ode to the reclamation of one’s inner strength, the new track shines with a soundscape of warm guitars and summery synth percussion, over which Fletcher boldly embraces her rawness and humanity. Variance declared, If purposeful pop is a thing, FLETCHER’s ‘Healing’ is absolutely it, and Uproxx named the soaring track, Best New Pop Music and said, leaning on a skittering beat, FLETCHER lilts powerful lines about the important of understanding there’s no such thing as a quick fix for your personal problems.

The process of making this song was really freeing, says FLETCHER. We’re all healing from something, she says. The world is healing right now. I can feel the collective energy of people waking up to their power and connecting to themselves in a way that humanity never has before. Healing isn’t a linear process, and it’ll take you on the most insane roller coaster ride of your life. But it’s worth the view at the top.

Currently at work on her debut album, Healing is FLETCHER’s first single since her 2020 hit Bitter, a track that’s amassed over 150 million streams to date. Hailed by Idolator as a breakup anthem for the ages, Bitter is a standout cut from THE S(EX) TAPES, a collection of magnetic and moody pop songs about finding your forever person before you find yourself and, as a result, needing to uncover the parts of you that remain unknown. Soon after arriving last September, the EP earned praise from outlets like Nylon, Teen Vogue, PAPER, SPIN (who noted there aren’t any rules when it comes to FLETCHER’s music) and more.

FLETCHER Returns With New Single Healing

Today, FLETCHER returns with her new single “Healing,” a powerful anthem to reflect the times  one of self-awareness and discovery. Released via Capitol Records, “Healing” finds the acclaimed singer/songwriter reclaiming her inner strength, making a natural progression from her critically-lauded EP THE S(EX) TAPES, a boldly personal project executive-produced by Malay (Lorde, Frank Ocean).
“I’ve spent my whole life looking for answers on how to be better emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, intellectually,” says FLETCHER. “I thought, If I can just figure out the secret, all my problems will be solved. As if everyone had the fix but me. Between different relationships, doctors, healers, crystals, self-help books, medications, podcasts, you name it, I sought it out. All my value was placed externally. And though those things have guided me on my journey and led me to where I am now, the thing I was missing was right in front of me. My own strength and love and soul has always been there, but I couldn’t see that. This song is the foundation of what’s to come an era of healing and feeling myself for the first time ever.”
Co-written with Scott Harris (Shawn Mendes, Khalid) and ALDAE (Justin Bieber, Kid Laroi), “Healing” is rooted in the raw emotional intimacy that FLETCHER is known for and offers her most gripping vocal performance to date. Arcade – Duncan Laurence ft. Fletcher

Duncan Laurence teams up with Capitol Records label mate FLETCHER on a poignant new version of his global hit, Arcade. Download / stream Arcade ft. Fletcher HERE. In the cinematic lyric video, Laurence descends to the depths physically and emotionally and emerges with fresh hope. View HERE.

Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with Arcade. His performance of the song at the competition was hailed as “powerful” by The New York Times and “haunting” by The Guardian. Arcade which has amassed more than 250 million combined global streams took the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s Global Viral chart last year and has since received radio airplay in 58 countries. The track recently went viral on TikTok following its use in the Dracotok meme, which pairs Arcadewith a deleted scene from a Harry Potter film.

Arcade appears on Laurence’s debut album, Small Town Boy, which was released earlier this month by Capitol Records. Throughout the album, his powerful, expressive tenor flows from a gentle whisper through fluttering falsettos to a full-blown force. But the scope of the music never overpowers the intimacy of the stories Laurence tells.

“I see music as a platform to tell stories that might be a bit sad, but always have this hopeful ending or hopeful core inside of them,” Duncan Laurence says. “I think trying to see the positive in something negative gives you a certain strength through life.”

Combined global streams of Laurence’s songs are approaching 300 million, including over 25 million for the anthemic Love Don’t Hate It. Prior to the global pandemic, Laurence played the prestigious Pinkpop Festival and over 30 European headline shows.

FLETCHER praised by leading outlets like TIME, Wonderland, V Magazine, Nylon, Harper’s Bazaar, Interview Magazine, GQ, The Guardian and more hails from Asbury Park, NJ, where she cultivated her passion for music and unforgettably candid storytelling. After graduating from NYU’s famed Clive Davis Institute for Recorded Music, FLETCHER carved out a distinct space for herself in pop music with her 2019 debut EP you ruined new york city for me (Capitol Records). FLETCHER’s Bitter New Single

Today, the American singer and songwriter FLETCHER brings the music world her new single “Bitter”; the song is a collaboration with Billboard charting artist Trevor Daniel and was produced by DJ and producer Kito. Released through Capitol Records, the single is a standout track from FLETCHER’s acclaimed new EP, THE S(EX) TAPES. The album was leaked only two weeks ago and hit number one on iTunes across every genre.

The new single already has 30 million global streams to date and focuses on FLETCHER’s sharp, intricate lyrics and mesmerizing vocals. The song’s addition of Trevor Daniel amplifies the track’s raw emotions. Daniel, an artist originally from Houston, is known for his multi-platinum hit Falling and recent single “Past Life” with Selena Gomez.

This single is a breakthrough for FLETCHER because this single marks the first time she’s ever decided to collaborate with a male artist. This decision coincides with her belief in using her creative output as a way to explore herself, her sexuality and the world around her.

“Trevor and I slid into each other’s DMs about being fans of one another. He’s such a visionary artist and I jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with him.” FLETCHER commented in a press release. “Trevor was able to bring a whole new perspective to the song and I guess we’re both still Bitter about our exes.”

FLETCHER has always created a diverse and inclusive space for creation and she channeled this with the creation of her music video for “Bitter.” The video was written, produced, and directed by female director Brooke James. A crew of women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community helped edit the video.

In the cinematic creation of “Bitter,” FLETCHER is shown in a control room replaying surveillance camera footage of strangers in a hotel who are unaware of the cameras. Daniel co-stars in the video and model and artist Mads Paige is also featured. Each of the three characters in the “Bitter” video are seen having individual journeys of exploration, identity, loss and healing while all of their stories overlap. The video is loosely inspired by the erotic thriller Sliver; however, FLETCHER switches the original gender roles of the film. This change adds a new dimension of sexual representation, rawness and attraction to the song’s narrative of emotional recovery and sexual exploration.

“Throughout the video, I wanted to explore the themes of masculine and feminine energy in terms of self-discovery. It is about the fear of knowing you need to go out and explore the world and your relationship with yourself, but being afraid that your person will find somebody new in the process,” explained FLETCHER. “I’ve never understood the saying if you love something, let it go until now. That’s life though. It’s petty, it’s Bitter it’s true and sometimes the truth has to hurt.”

THE S(EX) TAPES EP is An unfiltered look into FLETCHER’s world and shows her personal expression. The collection of magnetic and moody pop songs are all about feeling like you’ve found your forever person but without discovering yourself first. She plays on the feeling of needing to find out more about yourself before giving your all to somebody else.

Since its debut in September, FLETCHER’s EP has already earned critical acclaim from a variety of outlets. like Nylon Magazine praised THE S(EX) TAPES as “perfectly messy pop” and Spin noted, “there aren’t any rules when it comes to FLETCHER’s music.” THE S(EX) TAPES is “bawdy and brilliant, a welcome injection of chaos and funk into the pop landscape,” according to Paper Magazine. The EP was executive-produced by Malay who has also worked with icons such as Lorde and Frank Ocean and was co-written by FLETCHER and her girl gang of songwriters including Caroline Ailin, Emily Warren, Mozella, Jennifer Decilveo, Ilsey Juber, and more.
