Arcade – Duncan Laurence ft. Fletcher

Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with Arcade. His performance of the song at the competition was hailed as “powerful” by The New York Times and “haunting” by The Guardian. Arcade which has amassed more than 250 million combined global streams took the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s Global Viral chart last year and has since received radio airplay in 58 countries. The track recently went viral on TikTok following its use in the Dracotok meme, which pairs Arcadewith a deleted scene from a Harry Potter film.

Arcade appears on Laurence’s debut album, Small Town Boy, which was released earlier this month by Capitol Records. Throughout the album, his powerful, expressive tenor flows from a gentle whisper through fluttering falsettos to a full-blown force. But the scope of the music never overpowers the intimacy of the stories Laurence tells.

FLETCHER’s Bitter New Single

Today, the American singer and songwriter FLETCHER brings the music world her new single “Bitter”; the song is a collaboration with Billboard charting artist Trevor Daniel and was produced by DJ and producer Kito. Released through Capitol Records, the single is a standout track from FLETCHER’s acclaimed new EP, THE S(EX) TAPES. The album was leaked only two weeks ago and hit number one on iTunes across every genre. 

The new single already has 30 million global streams to date and focuses on FLETCHER’s sharp, intricate lyrics and mesmerizing vocals. The song’s addition of Trevor Daniel amplifies the track’s raw emotions. Daniel, an artist originally from Houston, is known for his multi-platinum hit Falling and recent single “Past Life” with Selena Gomez. 

This single is a breakthrough for FLETCHER because this single marks the first time she’s ever decided to collaborate with a male artist. This decision coincides with her belief in using her creative output as a way to explore herself, her sexuality and the world around her.

“Trevor and I slid into each other’s DMs about being fans of one another. He’s such a visionary artist and I jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with him.” FLETCHER commented in a press release. “Trevor was able to bring a whole new perspective to the song and I guess we’re both still Bitter about our exes.”

FLETCHER has always created a diverse and inclusive space for creation and she channeled this with the creation of her music video for “Bitter.” The video was written, produced, and directed by female director Brooke James. A crew of women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community helped edit the video. 

In the cinematic creation of “Bitter,” FLETCHER is shown in a control room replaying surveillance camera footage of strangers in a hotel who are unaware of the cameras. Daniel co-stars in the video and model and artist Mads Paige is also featured. Each of the three characters in the “Bitter” video are seen having individual journeys of exploration, identity, loss and healing while all of their stories overlap. The video is loosely inspired by the erotic thriller Sliver; however, FLETCHER switches the original gender roles of the film. This change adds a new dimension of sexual representation, rawness and attraction to the song’s narrative of emotional recovery and sexual exploration. 

“Throughout the video, I wanted to explore the themes of masculine and feminine energy in terms of self-discovery. It is about the fear of knowing you need to go out and explore the world and your relationship with yourself, but being afraid that your person will find somebody new in the process,” explained FLETCHER. “I’ve never understood the saying if you love something, let it go until now. That’s life though. It’s petty, it’s Bitter it’s true and sometimes the truth has to hurt.” 

THE S(EX) TAPES EP is An unfiltered look into FLETCHER’s world and shows her personal expression. The collection of magnetic and moody pop songs are all about feeling like you’ve found your forever person but without discovering yourself first. She plays on the feeling of needing to find out more about yourself before giving your all to somebody else.

Since its debut in September, FLETCHER’s EP has already earned critical acclaim from a variety of outlets. like Nylon Magazine praised THE S(EX) TAPES as “perfectly messy pop” and Spin noted, “there aren’t any rules when it comes to FLETCHER’s music.” THE S(EX) TAPES is “bawdy and brilliant, a welcome injection of chaos and funk into the pop landscape,” according to Paper Magazine. The EP was executive-produced by Malay who has also worked with icons such as Lorde and Frank Ocean and was co-written by FLETCHER and her girl gang of songwriters including Caroline Ailin, Emily Warren, Mozella, Jennifer Decilveo, Ilsey Juber, and more.

Today, FLETCHER shares her highly awaited new EP THE S(EX) TAPES a collection of boldly realized pop songs about finding your forever person before you find yourself and needing to explore the parts of you that remain unknown as a result. Executive produced by her frequent collaborator Malay (Lorde, Frank Ocean), THE S(EX) TAPES finds FLETCHER working with her “babe gang” of A-list female songwriters like Caroline Ailin and Emily Warren (Dua Lipa), Mozella (Miley Cyrus, Rihanna), Jennifer Decilveo (Melanie Martinez) and more. In creating the EP’s magnetic and moody tracks, FLETCHER intimately documented her personal journey over the last few years, including the tension between being in love and learning to stand on her own for the first time.

“It’s pretty risqué but totally honest and vulnerable,” FLETCHER recently told Flaunt Magazine. “The shit we go through in life isn’t black-and-white, things aren’t perfect. I don’t have my shit figured out at all. I’m fucking emotional, a hot mess train express at all times. Like all the visuals for THE S(EX) TAPES, the visual for “Shh…Don’t Say It” was shot by FLETCHER’s ex Shannon Beveridge, and filmed during their time together in quarantine. “I wanted this EP to just be a really fucking honest representation of what it is like to love somebody, have such a connection, but also have all these questions,” FLETCHER explained in an interview with Clash Magazine.

Along with “Shh…Don’t Say It,” THE S(EX) TAPES features a string of singles released over the last few weeks including “If I Hated You,” and “The One,” as well as “Bitter” produced by labelmate Kito (Diplo, Empress Of, Aluna George) that recently surpassed 30 million global streams and also marks FLETCHER’s highest-charting single on iTunes to date. FLETCHER Headlines the Bud Light Dive Bar Tour

FLETCHER Headlines the Bud Light Dive Bar Tour Presented by GLAAD

FLETCHER performed an intimate show in San Francisco at Cafe du Nord as a part of the 2019 Bud Light Dive Bar Tour last night. This show, presented by GLAAD, was the third stop of the tour following Brett Eldredge and Judah & The Lion’s shows in St. Louis and Denver respectively.

San Francisco’s Dive Bar Tour stop highlighted Bud Light’s partnership with GLAAD for the 20th consecutive year, with their limited-edition Pride bottles that were on full display and decor to match the celebration. FLETCHER had the crowd singing along to her chart-topping song “Undrunk” as well as previewing new songs from her upcoming album. Fans especially loved when she gave a special shout out to Post Malone, performing “Better Now”, and her tribute to the LGBTQ+ community and Bud Light GLAAD partners with her performance of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors.”

About the show FLETCHER shared, “This show feels like such a full circle and natural moment for me. My first show was in a dive bar near my hometown in Jersey. To go back to a dive bar with Bud Light and connect with my fans in an intimate setting is something I could not have been more excited to do.”

Following Bud Light’s stop in San Francisco, the tour will travel to New York in August and Miami in November with two artists to be announced later this year.

Bud Light Dive Bar Tour

The Bud Light Dive Bar Tour 2019 is continuing with it’s third stop of the year. On Wednesday, June 26th The Bud Light Dive Bar Tour is stopping in San Francisco with FLETCHER putting on an intimate performance for Pride.

This night is especially exciting for us as we are partnering with GLAAD to put on a special show together, to further celebrate Pride month. The evening will feature our special-edition Pride bottle, which donates $1 for every case sold to GLAAD, to assist in their efforts of creating a world where everyone can live the life they love. Additionally, Bud Light kindly requests guests to contribute to the efforts by making a small donation of $15 that will 100% go back to GLAAD and their ongoing efforts.

This show is one of the 5 tour stops this year including Judah & The Lion in Denver, CO that took place on April 29th, Brett Eldredge in St. Louis, MO on May 16th and now FLETCHER in San Francisco on June 26th. Two more Dive Bar Tour shows are slated for August 2019 in New York City and November 2019 in Miami, FL. Artists for the final two shows will be announced later this year.

BMI Stage at Lollapalooza

Thursday, August 2nd the BMI Stage at Lollapalooza kicks off with six incredible performances. For the thirteenth year in a row the stage continues to showcase the industry’s biggest and brightest.   Day one kicks off with sister rock duo Larkin Poe, eccentric West Coast rapper, Wes Period, and boundary pushing pop upstart Fletcher.
