Attendees can also look forward to performances by pop-leaning electronic duo Louis The Child, Bay Area indie-pop artist Still Woozy, Tennessee indie-rock and pop group The Band CAMINO, the high-flying dance duo SLANDER, multi-talented artist and Internet favorite Oliver Tree, Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty, Connecticut pop and electronic singer Chelsea Cutler, iconic reggae-rock band Sublime With Rome, Washington indie-folk act The Head And The Heart, multi-genre Texas duo Surfaces, R&B/rap vocalist and songwriter T-Pain, and more.

Beyond the music lineup, Hangout is a one-of-a-kind experiential festival featuring stage-side VIP pools, hammocks lining the beach, majestic oceanside views, and plenty of activities for attendees including beach volleyball, disco skating at a full-sized roller rink, dance parties by the water, and much more to be announced.

Pre-sale registration for tickets to Hangout 2022 is now available on the festival’s official website. Those interested can sign-up for a limited time to take part in the December 10th presale date, while the General Onsale for the festival will take place on December 13th. 3-Day General admission tickets are $339 during the Early Bird sale and will increase to $359 after that. There is also a 3-Day GA Plus option priced at $509 that includes access to the GA Plus Grove with private air-conditioned restrooms, premium food offerings, and areas to relax, along with Priority GA Plus entrances at all festival gates.

Guests seeking the VIP treatment can choose between two options. With the 3-Day VIP choice priced at $1,219, guests will have access to exclusive artist performances, upfront viewing areas at designated stages, a stage-side pool at the Hangout Main Stage, private air-conditioned bathrooms, a VIP Grove with complimentary cocktails, beer, wine and snacks, priority VIP entrances, and more. The 3-Day Super VIP option priced at $1,839 will include all of those amenities along with access to the viewing deck at the Hangout Stage with hot tubs, jacuzzis, and a full bar, a VIP dining room with complimentary gourmet meals prepared by award-winning chefs, golf cart shuttles to designated stages, and more.

Gulf Shores and its neighboring city of Orange Beach also offer a wide variety of places to stay including condos, homes, cottages, and hotels, as well as a mix of locally-owned restaurants offering the best in Gulf seafood. For all the details on Gulf Shores, visit their website or visit the Hangout website for lodging options and more information.

Beyond the music itself, the community aspect of Hangout remains at the core of the festival’s experience. This starts with the festival’s logo known as the “shaka,” which symbolizes the “hang loose” mantra of beach and surf culture to many with a deeper meaning that represents solidarity, friendship, compassion, respect, and mutual understanding.

This extends to every aspect of Hangout, who focus much of their attention on social and environmental responsibility along with community engagement. This includes measures related to diversity, equity & inclusion, taking steps toward environmental sustainability, and supporting local charities. More information on these actions can be found on Hangout’s website.

Written By Wolves × Trenton Woodley – Better Luck Next Time

New Zealand’s highest streaming rock band, Written By Wolves, have recruited Trenton Woodley of Hands Like Houses for a reimagined version of “Better Luck Next Time.” Stream here.

The new single takes a tongue-in-cheek look at one of the only inevitable facts of life: no matter what we do, no one gets out alive. Woodley not only contributed vocals, but also co-produced/mixed the track and starred in the corresponding music video directed by Written By Wolves guitarist, Bahador Borhani.

“Better Luck Next Time” is the second single from Written By Wolves’ upcoming EP, The Collab Project, due out on September 17 (self-release). The 5-track EP is a collection of re-imagined collaborations of tracks from their debut album Secrets, released in late 2019. In addition to Woodley, Kellin Quinn (Sleeping With Sirens), Sonny Sandoval (P.O.D.) and others have collaborated on tracks for the EP.

Written By Wolves vocalist Michael Murphy shares, “The Collab Project is an on-going initiative to try and spread awareness, and to remind our fans and our followers, that no matter what they are going through, no matter what mental health struggles or demons they are going through right now, they don’t have to do it alone and they don’t have to deal with it on their own.” He adds, “The aim is to help normalize talking about our mental health issues and to help to breakdown the stigma attached to mental health.” Watch the band’s video explanation of The Collab Project here.

Written By Wolves are a fresh and progressive cinematic rock band and one of the most exciting new rock acts to come from New Zealand in recent years. Renowned for their highly energetic live show, the band have already shared the stage with international heavyweights such as Machine Gun Kelly, Limp Bizkit, Pendulum, Sublime With Rome, Suicidal Tendencies, We The Kings and Four Year Strong, to name just a few. Since forming in 2014, the band has amassed over 310,000 monthly listeners and more than 36 million streams on Spotify, as well as over 100,000 subscribers and 46 millions views on YouTube.

Katastro × Droptop

Katastro releases a new single, Droptop, as well as a new album, Sucker.

As they gear up for the release of their new album Sucker next month, emerging alt-rock/hip-hop hybrid Katastro has released their new single, Droptop. The positive, floaty track features background vocals from longtime friend Micah Brown of Iration. Sucker, the Phoenix-based quartet’s sixth full-length album, also features their buzzy summer anthem, The Way I Feel, which is currently featured on a variety of top Spotify playlists including The New Alt, New Noise, PopRox and Beach Vibes.

Sucker, due out Friday, July 16th via Silverback Music’s Controlled Substance Sound Labs, is available for pre-order now at all DSPs, and each digital pre-save will include an instant download of Droptop and The Way I Feel, as well as the singles, One Day, 100 Rips, and Way Too High.

Katastro will celebrate the release of Sucker with a string of West Coast headlining tour dates, beginning July 23rd with a hometown show in Tempe, Arizona. The Sucker Summer Run will also take over The Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles on August 13th and stop in Denver, San Diego, Sacramento, and Albuquerque, among other cities.

“Droptop is one of the smoother flowing songs on the album,” shares bassist Ryan Weddle. “Featuring backup vocals from Micah Brown of Iration, we take you on a late-night ride through parties and endless summer nights, which is fitting as weߣre gearing up for our first tour since Covid. We can’t wait to get back out there and perform these new songs for everyone!”

Sucker represents a notably more mature sound for Katastro: Andy Chaves [vocals], Andrew Stravers [drums], Tanner Riccio [guitar], and Ryan Weddle [bass], while showcasing their unique melting pot stew of rock, hip-hop, funk, blues, pop, and reggae. The band’s fully collaborative creative approach, and unexpected time off in 2020, allowed for limitless possibilities. The result is a 12-song collection, produced by Matt Keller (Lydia, Anarbor, Redlands), about the constant loop of life, love, hate, and wanting to break the pattern. Sucker brings its listeners along on a ride, providing a summary soundtrack and something a little more positive to look forward to when everything feels off. Opening track The Way I Feel is an upbeat ode to getting over a bad breakup. Recent single One Day is a feel-good track about coming to terms with a broken relationship and finding yourself in the loop of partying to forget about it. Way Too High pays homage to their desert roots with its unique Western vibe and accompanying music video, while 100 Rips truly sets the tone and direction for Sucker. The catchy cruisin’ down the highway escapade features psychedelic guitar solos pumping through a mix of hip-hop and reggae set against an intoxicating chorus. The previously released songs off Sucker have already accumulated nearly half a million plays and are growing daily.

Formed nearly a decade and a half ago, Katastro, who cite Eminem and Red Hot Chili Peppers as early influences, dropped their first EP, The Wonderful Daze, in 2008 and quickly followed with their debut full-length album, Poking Holes In A Pattern, the following year. The group issued a steady stream of releases over the next ten years, mostly all independently, alternating full-lengths with EPs and acoustic Bones sessions. 2011’s Gentle Predator marked a live album zenith for the band and, in 2016, they garnered a national hit with the Strange Nights record. As their songwriting strengthened and became more revealing, Katastro followed with the albums Washed [2018] and Tropical Heartbreak [2019]. Throughout their growing career, Katastro has amassed over 80 million career streams from fans worldwide as well as media support from Alternative Press, The Noise, Substream Magazine, Phoenix New Times, Variance Magazine and more. The four-piece has also been making an impact as a powerful live act, headlining national tours and supporting the likes of Dirty Heads, Sublime With Rome, Iration, 311, Pepper, The Expendables, and gracing festival stages such as the One Love Cali Reggae Fest and Reggae Rise Up Festival.
