KITO – BLOSSOM

KITO’S NEW EP, BLOSSOM, SET FOR RELEASE ON NOVEMBER 5 VIA ASTRALWERKS

Featuring BROODS, Terror Jr, ZHU, Jeremih, Bea Miller, VanJess & Channel Tres

On the heels of her first RIAA Gold certification as a listed artist, Astralwerks artist Kito announces the November 5 release of her new EP, Blossom, and unveils the leadoff track from the seven-song set, Skin & Bones ft. Winona Oak. Lush and luminous, “Skin & Bones” is an infectious, deeply romantic slice of dance-pop. Kito wrote the song with Sarah Aarons (Zedd, Alessia Cara, Maren Morris).

Born and raised in the Nordic forests of Sweden, Winona Oak first came to attention as a writer and featured artist on What So Not’s “Beautiful” and The Chainsmokers’ Gold-certified “Hope.” Her own debut single, “He Don’t Love Me,” was a runaway success, amassing 50 million streams across all platforms to date. Following her recent single “Old Insecurities” and her latest EP SHEwhich features the self-empowerment anthem “With Myself” and the stunning ballad “Piano in the Sky,” Winona Oak is currently at work on her debut album to be released next year.

Bitter, Kito’s first collaboration with FLETCHER, has been certified Gold by the RIAA and has amassed over 88 million combined global streams. She produced and co-wrote FLETCHER’s new single, girls girls girls, a bold reimagining of Katy Perry’s groundbreaking hit “I Kissed a Girl,” and earned acclaim for her remix of MARINA’s “Venus Fly Trap.”

Kito’s recent hits – “Follow” with ZHU and Jeremih, “Recap” with VanJess and Channel Tres, and “Steal My Clothes” ft. Bea Miller – shed light on the Australian-born, Los Angeles-based producer’s approach to futurist pop. All three tracks are included on Blossom, as well as new collaborations with BROODS “Locked On You” and Terror Jr “Tongue Tied.” See below for track listing.

Fans who pre-order the EP will instantly receive “Skin & Bones,” “Steal My Clothes,” “Recap” and “Follow.” Named as the “ultimate summer club record” by Dancing Astronaut, “Follow” has amassed more than 10 million combined global streams. DALLASK × LAUV — “TRY AGAIN”

Today, acclaimed producer/songwriter/artist DallasK unveiled his summery new single, “Try Again,” which features longtime friend and collaborator Lauv on vocals. With a wistful look back and a hopeful eye to the future, the track builds into an infectious, exhilarating plea to rekindle a romance that was perhaps never really over. You can download and stream “Try Again,” which was released today via Astralwerks, HERE. You can watch the lyric video HERE.

“Try Again” continues the collaboration that began when DallasK co-produced and co-wrote Lauv’s 2016 single “Breathe.” DallasK also co-produced and co-wrote “Sad Forever,” a single from Lauv’s 2020 debut album, ~how i’m feeling~, and collaborated on Lauv’s 2020 EP, Without You. The pair co-wrote “Try Again” with Michael Pollack (Lizzo, Zedd, Justin Bieber). In addition to producing, DallasK played all the instruments on the song.

DallasK, who is also known for his work with such artists as Tiësto, Fifth Harmony, BTS, Chromeo and KSHMR, says, “‘Try Again’ is actually the first dance record Lauv and I made together and it was super fun to create a unique record that encompasses both of our styles and influences.”

Lauv added, “Me and Dally made this song a couple years ago and we came back to it during quarantine and now we ready to put ‘er out into the world.”

Like the unforgettable ex in the song, the artists couldn’t resist returning to “Try Again,” a song that dates back to an informal 2016 recording session. Lauv and Michael Pollack joined Dallas at a lake house he’d rented in his hometown of Orlando, FL and there they created over a dozen songs.

“Several months later, Lauv’s artist project started to grow rapidly and he was suddenly on tour with Ed Sheeran and playing all around the world,” recalls DallasK. “We continued to work on his albums but ‘Try Again’ was always a favorite of ours that had gotten seemingly lost in the shuffle.”

After they rediscovered the track last year, Dallas FaceTimed Lauv with an idea for a more dance-focused version. Lauv loved it so much, he immediately re-recorded the vocals.

“Then we finished the record on a trip to Mexico for New Year’s and that’s the version you hear today!” says DallasK.

About DallasK:

Based in Los Angeles, DallasK (Dallas Koehlke) has released a string of acclaimed singles, including “All My Life,” “Self Control,” “I Know” and “Sometimes.” Praising the “relatable story” told on “Sometimes,” Billboard asked, “Does true love ever die? […] ‘Sometimes,’ the ghost of the past never really goes away. That’s the kind of love DallasK, Nicky Romero and XYLO wrote about on their summer heartbreak sing-along.”

DallasK is also known for his collaborations with such artists as Tiësto (“Show Me,” “Your Love”), Hardwell (“Area 51”) and KSHMR (“Burn”). He co-wrote and produced Fifth Harmony’s 5x Platinum single, “Work From Home” feat. Ty Dolla Sign as well as their singles “Down” and “He Like That.” He’s also remixed singles for such artists as Martin Garrix/Bebe Rexha, The Chainsmokers, MGMT, A-Trak/Andrew Wyatt, Skrillex and T.I./Pharrell/Robin Thicke.

Popdust observed, “It’s impossible to escape his influence. From Ariana Grande and Kesha to Lauv, Katy Perry and Fifth Harmony, Koehlke has curated a staggering number of today’s hits, whether behind the scenes or in the production chair.”

About Lauv:

Lauv has quietly and steadily become one of pop’s brightest rising stars. He has released his music completely independently with billions of streams to his name. He has written for some of the biggest stars in the world, performed on late night talk shows, played stadiums opening for Ed Sheeran, and sold out shows in 20+ countries as a headliner. And he did all of this without releasing an album.

That changed in early 2020, with Lauv’s official debut, ~how i’m feeling~. A 21-song tour de force, the project marks a breakthrough, a real moment of arrival, from a young singer/songwriter/producer who Rolling Stone called “Pop’s Up-and-Coming Heartbreak King.” The album released as a Top 20 album in 10 territories, including #9 in UK and #5 in AU, with over 1.5 billion combined streams to date.

Since then, Lauv has released a surprise new EP titled Without You, created during quarantine, and joined forces with rising global pop superstar Conan Gray on the new single “Fake.” Lauv has been open about his own struggles with anxiety and depression and has taken action on the issue with his Blue Boy Foundation, which supports programs that help young people feel more comfortable reaching out for help with mental health.

Steve Aoki × Frank Walker × AJ Mitchell

Today, two-time Grammy-nominated DJ/producer Steve Aoki, alongside rising fellow DJ/producer Frank Walker, and pop singer-songwriter, MTV Push/Vevo LIFT Artist, AJ Mitchell drop a refreshing high-energy summer collaboration “Imagine.” This new single calls us to imagine everything that comes with a relationship blending Aoki’s signature electro-pop sound with Walker’s dance-pop and Mitchell’s smoot breezy vocals, and is set to save the dancefloor this summer.

Aoki, Walker and Mitchell seamlessly blend their talents to create “Imagine”, a high-energy track that explores the highs and lows when imagining love. With catchy lyrics and a feel-good melody that combines underlying piano chords with sonic and techno beats, it transports you to your most desired state of love and the emotions felt in that ideal state. The chorus echoes “I want it with you” knowing that each listener can visualize their love and feel their own euphoria at the beat drop. The melody continually grows in strength as the lyrics confirm the power love can have in any situation…”if you imagine.”

“This track with Frank & AJ is something we poured our heart & souls into, and I’m so excited for it to be out just in time for Summer,” said Aoki. “The lyrics are something everyone can relate to, and the beat is something everyone can dance to. I wish we could bring it to you live in-person, but we have some special plans regardless to bring this to the world.”

“Imagine feels like such a game-changing song for me personally,” said Walker. “Creating a record alongside Steve has been incredible, he’s a legend in the dance scene and being a part of his creative process is unlike anything I’ve done before. Taking our production and adding AJ Mitchell into the mix took the record to a new level, he’s such a talented artist with a crazy voice. The three of us were able to come together with our own unique sounds to something truly special on Imagine. I can’t wait for the world to hear this one!”

“I’m very excited to be a part of such a fun record as “Imagine,” said Mitchell. “Steve has been one of my favorite people to work with. Him and Frank are both super talented and this is an awesome track you won’t be able to stop dancing to.”
