UB40 – CHAMPION

UB40 releases the video for Champion“. “Champion” is the official anthem of the upcoming Commonwealth Games, directed by award-winning filmmaker and Birmingham’s rising star, Daniel Alexander. Featuring local rappers Dapz On The Map & Gilly G, the uplifting and inspirational video reflects the competition’s spirit for all aspiring to be a champion and No.1 at whatever they do. The band will be touring the U.S. from August 18 – September 24. Check out dates and venues HERE.

For 45 years, UB40 has been flying the flag for their home city, and “Champion” carries this torch for the next generation with their iconic sound, as introduced by Zoe Ball on Radio 2, “This is going to stick in your head, it’s massive.”

The track also features a horn line from the late Brian Travers, UB40’s saxophonist, co-songwriter, and founding member. It was hugely important to the band that Brian featured on this momentous track and that his work continues to live on in UB40’s recordings.

“Champion” celebrates the Commonwealth Games coming to England for the first time in 20 years and is a celebration of Birmingham. It is the first single from UB40’s upcoming album UB45, which will be released in early 2023, which will be the ultimate celebration of UB40 past and present, featuring new original material, in addition to re-records of some of the band’s classics and greatest hits, performed by new frontman Matt Doyle.

Says Robin Campbell, “We are proud to be representing the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games with the official anthem ‘Champion .’Birmingham represents the best of global Britain, and it’s our pleasure to showcase this to the world. Birmingham is a city of champions!”

Adds Matt Doyle, “Champion is all about positivity. It’s about being uplifted and putting that energy into whatever gets you up in the morning, whether it be music, art, sport, or whatever it is. It’s about doing what you do best and excelling at that, celebrating being a champion. “

UB40 is one of the U.K.’s most successful British groups of all time, achieving three U.K. Number Ones – “Red, Red Wine,” “I Got You Babe (ft. Chrissie Hynde)” and “(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You – not to mention 17 Top 10 singles and more than 50 the U.K. hit singles. The band has sold 100 million records while taking their smooth Reggae and Pop blend to all corners of the globe, with hits such as Food For Thought,” “Cherry Oh Baby,” and Kingston Town.” Among the accolades, the band won the Grammy Award for “Best Reggae Album” four times between 1987 and 2006, an Ivor Novello Award, and was nominated for the BRIT Award for Best British Group in 1984.

UB40 hit the road this summer in the U.S. for their BIGGA BAGGARIDDIM TOUR with The Original Wailers featuring Al Anderson, Maxi Priestand Big Mountain, kicking off on August 18 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The band will perform its worldwide hit singles in addition to songs from their most recent album, BIGGA BAGGARIDDIM. The tour will include stops at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and Central Park in New York City, in addition to Detroit, Pittsburgh, Boston, Washington, DC, St. Petersburg, Houston, Ft. Worth, Austin, Phoenix, and many more.

About BoyWithUke

What do we know about BoyWithUke? If you quickly scan TikTok you can figure out he is a musical artist who writes and produces all of his own music, creating songs in his dorm room on GarageBand while hiding his face from the public with his now signature glowing mask. Take a deeper look and you’ll see he frequently posts “minute long songs,” many times written in response to requests from fans. His biggest hit to date was written after a fan commented “make a song about toxic friends plzzzx,” and the response was the song “Toxic.” The song describes how it feels when you realize all your friends are terrible people (people you’d probably be better off without), but the thought of being alone makes you feel even worse. The song has taken over the Spotify charts: hitting Top 10 and Top 15 on the Global & U.S. Spotify Viral Chart, Top 20 on Global Spotify Chart, and peaking at over 2 million streams per day. The song follows his previous full-length projects Melatonin Dreams, Fever Dreams, Trouvaille EP, and his latest Faded EP (featuring numerous songs created from his TikTok “minute long songs” project). We don’t know much about BoyWithUke yet, but we do know he’s an artist everyone is talking about.

Boston Manor relished their return to live music in 2021, delivering incendiary sets at the landmark Download Pilot, Reading & Leeds, and Slam Dunk Festivals. They also made it back out to North America as main support to Neck Deep with a setlist for both new and old fans alike.

Along with their headline North American 2022 tour, Boston Manor is also set to headline the UK in February at some of their biggest shows to date and this summer will see the band return to Download Festival, as well as playing Rock Am Ring, Graspop, and more.

The original version of “Algorithm” features on Boston Manor’s Desperate Times, Desperate Pleasures EP which was released in October 2021 via SharpTone Records. The EP is now available on 10″ vinyl, following its digital and cassette tape formats.

Desperate Times, Desperate Pleasures marks a concerted step into the future for Boston Manor. It’s the coining of a bold, bright new sound, building upon the bruising pop-punk of their earlier work and the big moves of their last album GLUE, to compose music that’s both heavier and more unabashedly accessible than that which preceded it. Hook-laden, coherent, blackly witty, and with a molten emotional core, it’s the opening of a new chapter, hinting at even greater brilliance to follow. This latest collection sees Boston Manor tapping into teen influences of the late 90s—The Cardigans, the Cranberries, later-era Depeche Mode. They recorded their new material at Stu Stu Studio in Brixton with Larry Hibbitt.

Valley Last Birthday The After Party EP Art via Capitol Music Group for use by 360 Magazine

Valley – The After Party

Following a whirlwind 2021, JUNO nominated, alternative-pop band Valley kicked off the new year with the release of a three-track EP, The After Party, out now via Capitol Records.

The After Party is released as an extension of the band’s previous EP, Last Birthday (October 2021) and as lead singer, Rob Laska notes “our most personal songs we’ve ever written as a band to date.” The three new songs mirror the upbeat energy of the previous EP, taking a more somber approach to the music and lyrics. “Last Birthday” is a standout track on this latest project which Valley worked on over the past two years and signifies the final release of the Last Birthday era. “The song really explains what we’ve been trying to put into words for a long time,” the band explains, “in a way it feels like the first song we’re singing directly to ourselves and our fans.” To illustrate the significance of “Last Birthday,” the band shared a Song Stories video explaining the process of writing and creating the new song. Watch the Song Story for “Last Birthday” HERE.

Last year was nonstop for Valley with a steady release schedule, each song capturing the feeling of relatable moments in time while being perfectly danceable. The explosive first single of 2021, “Like 1999” whose genesis traces back to a viral TikTok post that drove the band to finish the track in under 48 hours and went on to push their catalog to over 280 million global streams. The band performed “Like 1999” for the 2021 MYX Awards in the Philippines. Back at home, Valley was selected as Apple Music’s Up Next artist for Canada in September, joining the vast Up Next roster of past Canadian talent including Grammy-nominated and critically lauded talent like 6lack, Daniel Caesar, Jessie Reyez, Orville Peck, and Tate McRae.

Valley burst back into playing live last year, reconnecting with fans across North America. The band played their first American festivals over the summer and recently sold out shows with COIN on a 17-date North American tour. The band finished the year with two epic hometown shows at The Opera House in Toronto. Valley is gearing up for the ‘I’ll Be With You Tour,’ the band’s first-ever headlining tour with 30 dates across North America. The tour is almost entirely sold out with tickets and details available on Valley’s website.

About Valley

Valley, comprised of Rob Laska, Karah James, Mickey Brandolino, and Alex DiMauro, has spent the past two years developing organic buzz through a personal and intimate connection with their fans. Valley put together alternative pop with the care, adventurousness, and personal touch of a handmade burned CD. Cycling through moods like your favorite throwback Pinterest board, the Toronto quartet amplify sticky hooks through eloquent songcraft that’s cognizant of what came before, yet ready for the future. In 2016, Valley formed by accident when a local studio double booked them. During high school, Mike and Karah played in one band, while Rob and Alex played in another. They introduced themselves with self-written, self-produced releases, including the EP This Room Is White (2016), the full-length debut MAYBE (2019) and their EP sucks to see you doing better (2020). They joined Lennon Stella and The Band CAMINO on sold out tours across North America and even picked up a 2020 JUNO Award nomination in the category ofBreakthrough Group of the Year.” Most recently, the band released their latest EP Last Birthday via Capitol Records and joined COIN for a North American tour.

Higher Reality

From our ancient Mother, we have stories of victory that give us light. We, as Higher Beings, grow as plants and trees to provide shade that we will never sit in. Today, Adversity comes from those with no roots who hate plants. They want to extinguish our sacred flame. Power from Profit, they are poisoning our souls one individual at a time. Individual liberty and equality are a memory?

I am one voice. I am a self-taught artist who has overcome autism and a decade of rape with Cannabis. Her manifestation within my mind and blood has given me peace. Freedom is within all of us. We just need to listen to the Voice of our Ancestor. Healing and loving kindness are just breath away. Using what grows from Mother Earth has given me a Spark of Determination to ignite and grow into a flame of passion. We must let our fire burn in the oven. Fire is universal. Fire stirs the essence of human artistry; it is the spark of the will to a higher frequency. That frequency is Love. Fire creates light and is not appreciated in our modern plastic society. Most humans are asleep and have lost interaction with real Fire.

Every human being is an individual, and every individual is a world like no other. We must become aware. Consciousness is awareness. We must make the subconscious conscious. Do you think Mother Earth is happy today? Is She proud of all the innocent blood seeping into her soil? Mother Earth is just, but Her actions can be terrible for those who violate Her. Why must we ask permission for freedom in this realm?

If cannabis plants could talk, we would arrest them! Exterminate them! I do not fear the system and its invented drug laws, because I defend Mother Nature. You can’t manipulate Love and Harmony. This war on people has gone on long enough. There is no liberty if the people have no voice. There is no justice where there is no truth. We need to stop putting people into boxes and view life as a unified whole. Don’t let the Oppressor be your Master. Face the light and know the Highest Consciousness of the cosmos is Love. Only truth awakens the morning of peace, and no law is higher than truth. There must be reparations for everyone who has lost freedom because of what grows beautifully from soil. We are a warm Light in this world and changing the world is NOW!

My art is growing marvelously like new buds on a healthy plant. I have always attempted what is out of the ordinary and have achieved the wonderful impossible. I have used all aspects of trauma to awaken the Divinity within my blood and devise my own style of art. I am a cosmic force, and my art is a tender plant being watered every day. Art is magic, and magic allows us to see what is hidden from our physical world. My spiritual roots are extremely strong and no plant lives without them.

History is within us; we just have to Remember. Our primal mother’s blood flows in our veins as we experiment meticulously with experience. There are so many people that need help, and every day is a chance to let our 420 Light shine! The energy within my vessel has passed through many transformations and stages of Alchemy to make me the electric individual I am today. Within my blood stirs centuries of fire! Out of the ashes the Phoenix will spread its wings and fly. Freedom is our battle cry!

We must not fear those who aim guns at plants because we are more powerful than they are. The wise ears of Mary Jane’s children seek truth. With patented grown food we are killing our youth. Humans eat and kill beings greater than themselves… And the kids still are not getting an appropriate number of vitamins and nutrients. The children are now the size of the cow. Maybe that’s bloody Karma? We are a Higher Frequency in a realm of polluted air that we must breathe every day. Resistance is part of this evolution. Oxygen is a wonderful gift from plants, that when within our vessels transforms into energy. Energy is Eternal. Plants are green energy. Plants Heal. We have a choice. I am screaming Can you hear my voice? One day your earth walk will end. Don’t let your fire die!

Plexus Worldwide’s Global Giving Day

Employees, Brand Ambassadors, and Customers volunteered to combat food insecurity on September 22. Plexus Worldwide (Plexus®), a leading direct-selling health and wellness company, motivated people around the world to step up and volunteer during the Plexus Global Giving Day, held on September 22. Brand Ambassadors, Customers, and employees in five countries were encouraged to support local nonprofits that provide assistance to families affected by hunger.

“Plexus cares deeply about children and families in all the communities we serve worldwide, so we mobilized our teams and encouraged our Brand Ambassadors to join forces with customers and serve together as a united community. We are so appreciative to everyone who took time out of their busy day to contribute to those in need. The outpouring of support gives me tremendous pride because it reflects a shared sense of responsibility.” said Tarl Robinson, Plexus CEO and Founder.

In addition, Plexus donated 15,000 USD to food banks in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and the United States where Global Giving Day participants volunteered.  At the corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, over 140 employees, including company leaders and the executive team, packed food boxes and distributed food at St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix.  Collectively, Scottsdale team members volunteered 580 hours to St. Mary’s Food Bank the week of September 20. This annual Week of Service event is something team members look forward to as yet another way to promote a One Plexus spirit.

“In our mission to ignite Hope, Health, and Happiness, we support all efforts to combat food insecurity, so families don’t have to choose between paying the electric bill and putting food on the table,” said Alec Clark, President, and Founder. “Making a difference is ingrained in our culture because we share a commitment to help those in need through financial contributions, volunteer efforts, and in-kind donations to community nonprofits that give families a helping hand during difficult times.”

Plexus encourages a culture of giving, providing 16 hours of paid volunteer time to every team member. But many employees give far more of their time and participate in donation drives that support a variety of nonprofits and community groups. 360 Magazine is proud to be associated with brands that volunteer worldwide to help the community.

Gayle – abcdefu

17-year-old rising pop singer-songwriter GAYLE has debuted a stripped back version of her Atlantic Records debut single “abcdefu.” The original version has quickly amassed over 17M global streams. The emotional acoustic version of “abcdefu” is streaming now via YouTube HERE, which has been praised by Blackbook for its “earnest intensity.” “This video is to honor the girl who played in her bedroom for a year-and-a-half,” says GAYLE.

GAYLE celebrated the success of her fiery single “abcdefu” with three other alternate versions. “abcdefu (demo),” “abcdefu (chill),” and “abcdefu (angrier)” are streaming now via DSPs and streaming services. Each version showcases a different side of the versatile song.  The original version of “abcdefu” has amassed over 17M global streams and is available now at all DSPs and streaming services HERE; an official music video is streaming now via YouTube HERE. GAYLE has already garnered some of pop’s most influential playlists and the song continues to grow in streams every single week since its launch just over a month ago. Produced by Pete Nappi (Kesha, Anne Marie, Madison Beer, Illenium), “abcdefu” arrives as a glowing example of GAYLE’s gift for fusing raw sincerity with an idiosyncratic and sometimes irreverent perspective. With its minimalist backdrop of jagged guitar work, the tongue-in-cheek breakup song explodes into a glorious free-for-all at its gang-vocal-fueled chorus. But “abcdefu” also telegraphs the Nashville-based artist’s refusal to compromise her own needs.

Along with the new versions of “abcdefu,” GAYLE has announced that she will serve as support on the upcoming Winnetka Bowling League tour. Tickets are on sale now- see the full list of dates below, and visit https://www.wbleague.com/ for more info.

Carer Ace – New EP

Today, Cameroonian American singer, songwriter and rapper Carter Ace uncovers his new EP The One and Lonely on Let’s Get It Records/Republic Records.

Listen to The One and Lonely: HERE

These five tracks illuminate every facet of the slick, sly, and smooth genre disruptor. “Just Like Money” dips in and out of boisterous horns as he flexes his dynamic vocal range. Elsewhere, soft harmonies glide over “Me Sometimes,” while bass pulsates like a heartbeat. “He’s Alive” teems with intense energy. Its manic rhymes bleed into gruff and guttural ad-libs and a punkified hook.

Check out the full tracklisting below

He set the stage for the five-track project with the buzzing anthem “Stay Here Instead.” Right out of the gate, Sweety High praised it as a “a smooth and swoon-worthy R&B track” and “dreamy in all the right ways.”

Meanwhile, RIFF Magazine went as far to say, “There’s a reflect to compare Carter Ace to someone like Pharrell Williams, but that’s not entirely fair, because Ace’s voice may actually be a little better.”

The projects also boasts the title track and debut single “The One And Lonely,” which continues to turn heads and earn critical praise. Ones To Watch claimed, “The creative amalgamation of sonic and mood shifts is intoxicating from start to finish,” and Alfitude extolled how Carter “seamlessly blended RnB with hip-hop, soul and even space funk to create one of the most impressive songs that I have experienced so far this month.”

In other big news, Carter joins Jonas Brothers for five more tour dates this October, beginning October 2 in Wantagh, NY at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Amphitheater. Check out the full confirmed itinerary below. Tickets are available HERE.

Carter Ace proves he’s The One And Lonely now!

Rising up out of the San Fernando Valley, Carter Ace initially incited waves through the culture with If It Don’t Work in 2017. A year later, he served up “I Think I’m Normal” with production by Isom Innis of Foster The People. It notably eclipsed 3.4 million Spotify streams as he buzzed to the forefront of the conversation with features in GQ and Flaunt. Joe Jonas heard his music and immediately reached out, signing him to Let’s Get It Records in conjunction with Republic Records. In 2021, Carter formally introduces himself with much more music to come. Get ready!

DALLASK × LAUV — “TRY AGAIN”

Today, acclaimed producer/songwriter/artist DallasK unveiled his summery new single, “Try Again,” which features longtime friend and collaborator Lauv on vocals. With a wistful look back and a hopeful eye to the future, the track builds into an infectious, exhilarating plea to rekindle a romance that was perhaps never really over. You can download and stream “Try Again,” which was released today via Astralwerks, HERE. You can watch the lyric video HERE.

“Try Again” continues the collaboration that began when DallasK co-produced and co-wrote Lauv’s 2016 single “Breathe.” DallasK also co-produced and co-wrote “Sad Forever,” a single from Lauv’s 2020 debut album, ~how i’m feeling~, and collaborated on Lauv’s 2020 EP, Without You. The pair co-wrote “Try Again” with Michael Pollack (Lizzo, Zedd, Justin Bieber). In addition to producing, DallasK played all the instruments on the song.

DallasK, who is also known for his work with such artists as Tiësto, Fifth Harmony, BTS, Chromeo and KSHMR, says, “‘Try Again’ is actually the first dance record Lauv and I made together and it was super fun to create a unique record that encompasses both of our styles and influences.”

Lauv added, “Me and Dally made this song a couple years ago and we came back to it during quarantine and now we ready to put ‘er out into the world.”

Like the unforgettable ex in the song, the artists couldn’t resist returning to “Try Again,” a song that dates back to an informal 2016 recording session. Lauv and Michael Pollack joined Dallas at a lake house he’d rented in his hometown of Orlando, FL and there they created over a dozen songs.

“Several months later, Lauv’s artist project started to grow rapidly and he was suddenly on tour with Ed Sheeran and playing all around the world,” recalls DallasK. “We continued to work on his albums but ‘Try Again’ was always a favorite of ours that had gotten seemingly lost in the shuffle.”

After they rediscovered the track last year, Dallas FaceTimed Lauv with an idea for a more dance-focused version. Lauv loved it so much, he immediately re-recorded the vocals.

“Then we finished the record on a trip to Mexico for New Year’s and that’s the version you hear today!” says DallasK.

About DallasK:

Based in Los Angeles, DallasK (Dallas Koehlke) has released a string of acclaimed singles, including “All My Life,” “Self Control,” “I Know” and “Sometimes.” Praising the “relatable story” told on “Sometimes,” Billboard asked, “Does true love ever die? […] ‘Sometimes,’ the ghost of the past never really goes away. That’s the kind of love DallasK, Nicky Romero and XYLO wrote about on their summer heartbreak sing-along.”

DallasK is also known for his collaborations with such artists as Tiësto (“Show Me,” “Your Love”), Hardwell (“Area 51”) and KSHMR (“Burn”). He co-wrote and produced Fifth Harmony’s 5x Platinum single, “Work From Home” feat. Ty Dolla Sign as well as their singles “Down” and “He Like That.” He’s also remixed singles for such artists as Martin Garrix/Bebe Rexha, The Chainsmokers, MGMT, A-Trak/Andrew Wyatt, Skrillex and T.I./Pharrell/Robin Thicke.

Popdust observed, “It’s impossible to escape his influence. From Ariana Grande and Kesha to Lauv, Katy Perry and Fifth Harmony, Koehlke has curated a staggering number of today’s hits, whether behind the scenes or in the production chair.”

About Lauv:

Lauv has quietly and steadily become one of pop’s brightest rising stars. He has released his music completely independently with billions of streams to his name. He has written for some of the biggest stars in the world, performed on late night talk shows, played stadiums opening for Ed Sheeran, and sold out shows in 20+ countries as a headliner. And he did all of this without releasing an album.

That changed in early 2020, with Lauv’s official debut, ~how i’m feeling~. A 21-song tour de force, the project marks a breakthrough, a real moment of arrival, from a young singer/songwriter/producer who Rolling Stone called “Pop’s Up-and-Coming Heartbreak King.” The album released as a Top 20 album in 10 territories, including #9 in UK and #5 in AU, with over 1.5 billion combined streams to date.

Since then, Lauv has released a surprise new EP titled Without You, created during quarantine, and joined forces with rising global pop superstar Conan Gray on the new single “Fake.” Lauv has been open about his own struggles with anxiety and depression and has taken action on the issue with his Blue Boy Foundation, which supports programs that help young people feel more comfortable reaching out for help with mental health.

Lindsey Stirling’s Official Music Video – Masquerade

Ahead of this weekend’s official launch of her cross-country headlining Artemis U.S. Tour, platinum-selling electronic artist, violinist, and multi-talented entertainer Lindsey Stirling, known all over the world for her unique, futuristic violin-driven electronic music and exquisite live show, has gifted fans with a new music video for the song “Masquerade,” off her latest chart-topping studio album Artemis. Inspired by early 20th century silent films, the new visual for the instrumental track was filmed at The Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles and co-directed by Stirling and Stephen Mallett (Pentatonix, Logic, CHVRCHES). Press here to watch.

“While I was writing the song ‘Masquerade,’ I knew immediately that it would be about a wealthy over-the-top aristocratic woman,” shares Stirling. “The song has such a comedic feel to it, which made the music video really, really fun to plan and make.”

The Artemis U.S. Tour marks the first time Stirling will be performing the tracks off Artemis as well as her current single “Lose You Now” in front of an American audience. The 35-date outing, featuring special guest electro-pop artist Kiesza, kicks off this Saturday, July 3rd in Kansas City, MO and will stop in most major markets across the country including New York City (August 2nd at the Beacon Theatre), Los Angeles (August 30th at the Microsoft Theater), Denver (July 7th at Red Rocks Amphitheatre), Dallas, Houston, Nashville, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, and many others, before wrapping September 10th in Milwaukee at Summerfest. “Lose You Now,” Stirling’s emotive pop hit about loss and grief with artist, producer, and songwriter Mako, stems from the instrumental-only track “Guardian” off her Artemis album. The 13-track album, which has racked up over 200 million total global streams, features the singles “Underground,” “Artemis,” “Sleepwalking,” “Between Twilight” and “The Upside” featuring Elle King along with “Love Goes On and On” featuring Amy LeeArtemis has also been turned into a successful comic book series, with the sixth edition coming this summer. Press here to listen to Artemis and press here for info on the comic books.
