Valley Last Birthday The After Party EP Art via Capitol Music Group for use by 360 Magazine

Valley – The After Party

Following a whirlwind 2021, JUNO nominated, alternative-pop band Valley kicked off the new year with the release of a three-track EP, The After Party, out now via Capitol Records.

The After Party is released as an extension of the band’s previous EP, Last Birthday (October 2021) and as lead singer, Rob Laska notes “our most personal songs we’ve ever written as a band to date.” The three new songs mirror the upbeat energy of the previous EP, taking a more somber approach to the music and lyrics. “Last Birthday” is a standout track on this latest project which Valley worked on over the past two years and signifies the final release of the Last Birthday era. “The song really explains what we’ve been trying to put into words for a long time,” the band explains, “in a way it feels like the first song we’re singing directly to ourselves and our fans.” To illustrate the significance of “Last Birthday,” the band shared a Song Stories video explaining the process of writing and creating the new song. Watch the Song Story for “Last Birthday” HERE.

Last year was nonstop for Valley with a steady release schedule, each song capturing the feeling of relatable moments in time while being perfectly danceable. The explosive first single of 2021, “Like 1999” whose genesis traces back to a viral TikTok post that drove the band to finish the track in under 48 hours and went on to push their catalog to over 280 million global streams. The band performed “Like 1999” for the 2021 MYX Awards in the Philippines. Back at home, Valley was selected as Apple Music’s Up Next artist for Canada in September, joining the vast Up Next roster of past Canadian talent including Grammy-nominated and critically lauded talent like 6lack, Daniel Caesar, Jessie Reyez, Orville Peck, and Tate McRae.

Valley burst back into playing live last year, reconnecting with fans across North America. The band played their first American festivals over the summer and recently sold out shows with COIN on a 17-date North American tour. The band finished the year with two epic hometown shows at The Opera House in Toronto. Valley is gearing up for the ‘I’ll Be With You Tour,’ the band’s first-ever headlining tour with 30 dates across North America. The tour is almost entirely sold out with tickets and details available on Valley’s website.

About Valley

Valley, comprised of Rob Laska, Karah James, Mickey Brandolino, and Alex DiMauro, has spent the past two years developing organic buzz through a personal and intimate connection with their fans. Valley put together alternative pop with the care, adventurousness, and personal touch of a handmade burned CD. Cycling through moods like your favorite throwback Pinterest board, the Toronto quartet amplify sticky hooks through eloquent songcraft that’s cognizant of what came before, yet ready for the future. In 2016, Valley formed by accident when a local studio double booked them. During high school, Mike and Karah played in one band, while Rob and Alex played in another. They introduced themselves with self-written, self-produced releases, including the EP This Room Is White (2016), the full-length debut MAYBE (2019) and their EP sucks to see you doing better (2020). They joined Lennon Stella and The Band CAMINO on sold out tours across North America and even picked up a 2020 JUNO Award nomination in the category ofBreakthrough Group of the Year.” Most recently, the band released their latest EP Last Birthday via Capitol Records and joined COIN for a North American tour.

Orville Peck Postponed “Show Pony”

Orville Peck has postponed the June 12th release date of his EP “Show Pony” and he will now release “Show Pony” at a later date in July.

“Hey gang, I know it’s only two days away but I’ve decided to push the release of my new EP ‘Show Pony’ to July. We’re undergoing a huge overdue worldwide transformation thanks to the Black Lives Matter movement and that is mainly what I want to put my focus on at the moment. The momentum is currently so strong, and it needs to keep going in order to dismantle the injustices of oppression, so if your voice hasn’t been heard yet just use it, or walk out and hear the protesters, and if you’re scared, tell them Orville sent you! Last week, thanks to the help of some lovely people we raised close to $37k, and this week I’ll be performing a little surprise from the EP at @wynwoodpride where we’re hoping to raise $100k. Lots of great performers, so if you guys like what you see, remember to tip- and y’all, even if you can’t tip, watching to actively educate yourself is also a win for everyone. Love you all for being kind people and I can’t wait for you to hear the album – but let’s use this month to get our shit in order because this is only the start of the marathon for equality.” – Orville Peck

Please note artwork, tracklist, etc. remains the same; the only change is that the EP will be released at a later date.

Orville Peck x Shania Twain

Columbia Records is proud to announce Show Pony, the eagerly awaited EP from country artist and songwriter Orville Peck. The self-produced 6 track EP is an evolution of Peck’s debut album Pony, which was released in March 2019, and features all new songs including a duet with reigning Queen of Country Pop and Global Icon Shania Twain, as well as a cover of Bobbie Gentry’s “Fancy”. Show Pony will be available globally on June 12th; pre-order here.

Says Peck, “I loved my experience with Pony. However, Show Pony is a more confident perspective and allows me to share even more both lyrically and musically. Like all country albums, Show Pony is a little collection of stories – some sad, some happy – and I am excited for people to hear it. Working with Shania was a dream come true, her music made me feel empowered as a kid and was a huge influence on me.”

Peck celebrates the news of Show Pony with the release of a new track and video, “No Glory in the West”. Directed by Isaiah Seret with narrative and creative direction by Peck and his creative director Carlos Santolalla, the video finds Orville and his horse traversing across a darkened, frozen landscape. The miles are endless, the nights are longer than the days and the silence hangs heavy. Listen to the song here and watch the video here.

Prior to “No Glory in the West” Peck released the Show Pony track “Summertime”. Whereas “Summertime” explores hope and the belief of perseverance and patience, “No Glory in the West” examines how exhausting that can be. Listen to “Summertime” here and watch the video here.

Track list:
1 Summertime
2 No Glory in the West
3 Drive Me, Crazy
4 Kids
5 Legends Never Die (duet with Shania Twain)
6 Fancy

ORVILLE PECK – SUMMERTIME

Today, country artist Orville Peck has shared his new, self-produced track “Summertime” via Columbia Records. In tandem with the new song, Orville has also released the official video for “Summertime.” Directed by Drew Kirsch (Taylor Swift, John Legend) the video finds Orville, keeping within the cowboy way of life, traveling the distance, alone in a vast landscape. Listen to the song here and watch the video here

Says Orville, “I wrote this song a long time ago and to me, Summertime has a few different meanings. Summertime can be a season, a person, or a memory of a happier time that can be difficult to visit. We also wanted the video to focus around the idea of how we treat nature. Ultimately this is a song about biding your time and staying hopeful – even if it means missing something or someone.”

Orville first performed “Summertime” to an intimate, sold out crowd during a special, one-night only event at the Museum of Modern Art and again at a few tour dates before the tour was postponed. Orville then performed it for a larger audience on his livestreamed, at home concerts. Watch the livestreams here and here.

“Summertime” is the first new music Orville has shared since the release of his self-produced debut album, Pony, in March 2019. Ponyreleased to both fan and critical support alike, with positive reviews from The New Yorker, Billboard, Rolling Stone Country, The FADER, NPR and many more. Known for not only his musicianship but also his visuals and live show, Orville toured Ponyfor nearly a year. Although his current tour is postponed, Orville is slated to perform at Coachella and Stagecoach this fall, as well as open for Harry Styles at his “Harryween” MSG shows this Halloween, pending future outcome.

More new music and visuals will be released in the coming weeks; fans should visit his official website and socials for updates.
