Isaac Dunbar – Fool’s Paradise

Isaac Dunbar released his latest single, “Fool’s Paradise,” out now via RCA Records. Written and produced by Isaac, the emotive, piano-driven ballad examines the complexities of unrequited love. Propelled by Isaac’s melodic vocals, “Fool’s Paradise” is an operatic exploration of disillusionment and what happens when one no longer ignores the red flags waving in front of them.

“I wrote ‘Fool’s Paradise’ about my struggle between discerning what is real and what is fake with the relationships in my life,” says Isaac. “It’s about the process of waking up to mistreatment, manipulation and reading in between the lines. It’s about breaking those cycles. ‘Fool’s Paradise’ is a song for the delusional girls.”

Joining the previously released rebellious pop-anthem “Bleach” and the disco-infused “Tainted Love,” “Fool’s Paradise” serves as the latest release off Isaac’s highly anticipated forthcoming EP, Banish The Banshee. A series of sonic parables inspired by love, loss, shame, and joy, Banish The Banshee is a conceptual body of work that illustrates the stories of Isaac’s life so far through the lens of his alter-ego, the banshee.

About Isaac Dunbar

19-year-old Isaac Dunbar has carved out a spectacular and unique lane as one of the most critically heralded emerging artists of his generation. After supporting girl in red on her North American and European run of shows in 2019, he released his highly anticipated debut EP, balloons don’t float here. Spotify’s global emerging artist program, RADAR, announced its latest artist partnership for the US, the Oslo-based pop sensation, girl in red, aka Marie Ulven.

On the heels of the recent announcement of her debut album, if i could make it go quiet,out April 30th and its accompanying FINNEAS-produced first single, “Serotonin,” Marie has proven exactly why she’s a Spotify RADAR artist: She has over 886 Million Spotify streams to date, almost 9 Million monthly listeners, and placements on over 396 Spotify playlists including New Music Friday, LOREM, Oyster, Ultimate Indie, and Out Now.

Spotify Announces girl in red as Its Next RADAR Artist

Today, Spotify’s global emerging artist development program, RADAR, has announced its latest artist partnership for the US: the Oslo-based pop sensation, girl in red, aka Marie Ulven.
girl in red has also just announced her debut album, if i could make it go quiet, out April 30th, and released its accompanying first single, “Serotonin.”  The result of a collaboration with FINNEAS and a huge pop anthem that speaks to Ulven’s struggles with mental health, the arena-ready tune can be heard HERE

Following her breakout single, “i wanna be your girlfriend,” which has been streamed over 150 Million times on Spotify, girl in red’s music has adorned some of Spotify’s most popular playlists including New Music Friday, LOREM, Oyster, Ultimate Indie, Out Now, and many more — 364 playlists, to be exact! Her cover of Maggie Rogers’s “Say it” for Spotify’s Studio Oyster has been beloved by media and fans around the world, as well as by Rogers herself. With 7 Million monthly listeners on Spotify, her music has also been celebrated by press outlets around the world like The New York Times, Paper Magazine, NME, DAZED, Rolling Stone, Pigeons & Planes and more.

Last fall, Spotify celebrated the program’s six month anniversary with the launch of its global RADAR hub on-platform.

Vevo announces the release of Isaac Dunbar’s DSCVR at Home performance of “boy” 

Isaac Dunbar knows full well that when you sign up to be a pop artist these days, you sign up to be an influencer. At only 17, Isaac has thought a lot about what he wants to put out into that culture and the impact it can have. He has thought a lot about how he wants listeners to feel; Isaac mainly wants his fans to know they are not alone in the same way listening to artists like Lady Gaga did for him growing up as a mixed race and artistic kid.

Isaac has gravitated toward music to soothe himself ever since he was a child. Growing up in the town of Barnstable on Cape Cod, Dunbar was bullied for being different. “I never fit in,” he says. “I tried, but it didn’t work. So when other kids were hanging out with each other, I was nine years old and cocooned in my bed scouring the Internet for new music.” Always having a love of singing, he taught himself to play piano from YouTube tutorials. At 10 years old, Isaac noticed that Lady Gaga had tweeted a list of producers she worked with, one of whom was French house producer Madeon. “I saw that he had this program called FL Studio,” he recalls. “I illegally downloaded it at a Barnes & Noble in Hyannis, Massachusetts. And that’s how I taught myself to produce music.”   

At 12, Dunbar began to release his self-proclaimed “self-aware alternative-pop,” and quickly began building an audience. Since then, Dunbar has signed to RCA Records and relished Zane Lowe premiering his song “Pharmacy” on his Beats 1 show. Billboard referred to him as a “newly christened pop star” and applauded his “vulnerable bravery and artistic honesty” on his label debut, Isaac’s Insects. The “verifiable wunderkind” (PAPER), has earned additional praise from the likes of The FADER and Ones to Watch, and has toured the US, Europe and the UK supporting girl in red.
