WunderLocke Penthouse Suites

WunderLocke unveils design-led Rooftop and Penthouse Suites

Located in Sendling, Munich, newly opened aparthotel WunderLocke by pioneering lifestyle brand Locke, has unveiled its seventh floor rooftop suites and impressive Penthouse Suites. The 360-apartment destination is ideally located in the up-and-coming neighbourhood of Sendling and brings a hospitality concept like no other to the Bavarian capital. WunderLocke provides suites for leisure and business travellers alike, offering eleven one-bedroom open plan suites, three two-bedroom penthouse suites, and the WunderLocke Penthouse Suite.

The design of the seventh-floor suites was overseen by renowned interior architects Holloway Li who took advantage of the striking views of the alps. The impressive 126sqm WunderLocke Penthouse Suite boasts an expansive stand-alone bathtub, offering guests the ultimate relaxation. The colour scheme throughout is anchored by natural earth tones and rich botanical greens, with biophilic insertions and natural materials creating a feeling of serenity. Munich-based multidisciplinary artist Monika Morito was also commissioned to paint a small mural in sunset tones which features in the space. In addition, the WunderLocke Penthouse Suite features its own private terrace complete with a jacuzzi configured to maximise and amplify its unique setting, while the 100sqm Two Bedroom Penthouse Suite features spectacular city views. Both penthouse suites also feature separate living quarters, an eight-person dining table, and two king-size beds in two separate bedrooms. In signature Locke style, both penthouse suites include a fully-equipped kitchen complete with a microwave oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer and cooking gear.

This was our first opportunity to design Penthouse suites for Locke and we were spoiled by the panoramic views the building afforded. Our design scheme for the penthouses chimed with the overall concept for WunderLocke, both paying homage to the heritage of the host building by retaining the exposed concrete shell and using natural materials as well as a thoughtful colour palette and greenery to provide a fitting counterpoint to the machine-age setting of the space. We hope the spaces provide both a sense of renewal as well as a connection to the wonderful surrounding city.”- Alex Holloway, Creative Director and Co-Founder of Holloway Li.

For the seventh-floor suites, Holloway Li mirrored the landscape of the alps in the distance to the lateral flow of the apartments. The 31m² Rooftop One Bedroom Open Plan Suites are complete with rooftop terraces, living spaces and fully equipped kitchens complete with dining tables and more.

For The WunderLocke Penthouse Suite and the Rooftop One Bedroom Open Plan Suites  featuring splendid terraces, Holloway Li worked with artist Claire de Quénetain to create bespoke fabrics for each of the external terrace loungers; her painterly illustrations take inspiration from natural settings and provide the perfect counterpoint to the building’s industrial past.

All seventh floor suites along with the WunderLocke Penthouse Suite feature Locke’s signature perks, including air conditioning, a power shower with Kinsey Apothecary toiletries, blackout curtains, private, superfast Wi-Fi, a Smart HDTV with Chromecast, a separate living area and a fully-equipped kitchen, microwave oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer. The urban roof garden, opening in Spring 2023, will also be accessible from the seventh floor.

WunderLocke’s size and location allowed us to really expand on our suite offerings, providing a private sanctuary for our guests where they can enjoy an elevated experience in our spectacular suites with unrivalled views of the alps and city.” Eric Jafari, Chief Development Officer & Creative Director, edyn.

Lifestyle aparthotel brand Locke opened WunderLocke in July 2022, continuing its European expansion. The property includes 360 spacious design-led apartments, a large co-working area, meeting and event spaces as well as an outdoor heated swimming pool, sauna and workout studio and a food and drink concept unparalleled in Germany in the form of ‘Mural Farmhouse’: five food and drink destinations spread across seven floors conceived by the founders of revered local Michelin-starred restaurant, Mural.

The Two Bedroom Penthouse Suite starts from €450, the WunderLocke Penthouse Suite starts from €520, the Two Bedroom Suites starts from €275 and the Rooftop One Bedroom Open Plan Suites starts from €150.

About BoyWithUke

What do we know about BoyWithUke? If you quickly scan TikTok you can figure out he is a musical artist who writes and produces all of his own music, creating songs in his dorm room on GarageBand while hiding his face from the public with his now signature glowing mask. Take a deeper look and you’ll see he frequently posts “minute long songs,” many times written in response to requests from fans. His biggest hit to date was written after a fan commented “make a song about toxic friends plzzzx,” and the response was the song “Toxic.” The song describes how it feels when you realize all your friends are terrible people (people you’d probably be better off without), but the thought of being alone makes you feel even worse. The song has taken over the Spotify charts: hitting Top 10 and Top 15 on the Global & U.S. Spotify Viral Chart, Top 20 on Global Spotify Chart, and peaking at over 2 million streams per day. The song follows his previous full-length projects Melatonin Dreams, Fever Dreams, Trouvaille EP, and his latest Faded EP (featuring numerous songs created from his TikTok “minute long songs” project). We don’t know much about BoyWithUke yet, but we do know he’s an artist everyone is talking about.

Amber Mark – Softly

Today New York based singer, songwriter and producer Amber Mark releases a brand new single ‘Softly’ via PMR/Interscope Records. Sampling Craig David’s ‘Rendezvous’, the new single is the fifth preview of her long-awaited debut album ‘Three Dimensions Deep’. Due for release on January 28th, the album will be followed by huge UK, EU and US spring tours including a night at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in March.

Amber’s debut album arrives almost 4 years after the release of her second EP ‘Conexão’, an extended process that has proved central to its thematic development. The 17 track album can be divided into three main acts that follow the arc of Amber’s personal and musical development; WITHOUT, WITHHELD and WITHIN. Beginning by acknowledging her insecurities and anxieties before reflecting on her time in denial and spent processing them in all the wrong ways, Amber eventually widens her focus by seeking answers to the world’s negativity and trauma on a cosmic scale. Finding peace and a form of inherent spirituality in the world of astrophysics while writing the album led to a fresh perspective on life and a renewed sense of self. Amber’s debut album is simultaneously a profound concept album and a love letter to herself, richly intertwining messages of self-worth and reflections on the universe beneath a veneer of shimmering pop. In true Amber Mark style, ‘Three Dimensions Deep’ is a kaleidoscopic melting pot of influences and genres, drawing from funk and R&B, soul and hip-hop with international accents influenced by a nomadic childhood spent travelling the world with her late mother. View a trailer for the album HERE.

“Three Dimensions Deep is a musical journey of what questions you begin to ask yourself when you start looking to the universe for answers.” says Amber; “I can only go as deep as the third dimension as that’s how we see the world, but what about when you start looking to the universe within for answers.”

The three official singles previously released from the album ‘Worth It’, ‘Competition’ and ‘Foreign Things’ marked Amber’s first official singles since 2020’s ‘Generous’, though 2020 was still a hugely productive year for Amber. With her hometown of NYC hit hard in the first wave of the pandemic and placed under strict lockdown, Amber turned to her simple home studio to create an acclaimed series of home-produced covers and originals titled ‘Covered-19’, each accompanied by a homemade video and artworks. The series was followed by a collaboration with longtime friend Empress Of on the protest song ‘You’ve Got To Feel’, earning Annie Mac’s Hottest Record, ‘Tune Of The Week’ and a spot on the Radio 1 playlist. Earlier this year Amber was featured on legendary DJ Paul Woolford’s new piano-house track ‘HEAT’, again snagging Annie Mac’s Hottest Record and a long run across the Radio 1 and 2 playlists. Having already amassed over 300 million streams since the release of her breakout debut EP 3:33AM in 2017, Amber has built a global fanbase eager to hear her debut full length – pre-save it HERE.

Joy Crookes – Skin

BRIT Award nominated singer/songwriter Joy Crookes releases her highly anticipated debut album, Skin.  The 13 track body of work includes previously releases singles, “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now,” “When You Were Mine,” “Skin,” and the newest, “Trouble.” Get it HERE via Epic Records/Insanity.

With Crookes credited as an executive producer on the album, alongside the formidable Blue May (Blood Orange), Skin is a hugely personal, game-changing body of work from one of the UK’s boldest and brightest young talents. A collection of songs built and honed throughout her adolescence and into her early twenties, and finished last year within the most turbulent of circumstances, Skin touches on topics such as mental health, relationships, and politics all with grace and sensitivity. Crookes has created a truly special body of work that is both perfectly of the moment, and entirely timeless. Skin’s album artwork is shot by Carlota Guerrero, who has previously worked with Arca, Chloe x Halle, and Solange for all of her imagery for A Seat At The Table.

Already, the album has garnered Crookes a massive amount of acclaim worldwide. British Vogue has dubbed her, “undoubtedly one of the most exciting artists to emerge in the music scene this year,” while The Guardian has praised her “effortlessly nuanced and individual melodic sensibility.” I-D has praised her music as “powerful” while Complex has noted her “soul-stirring vocals,” and Billboard has similarly highlighted her “unfaltering vocal performance.”  The New York Times in a recent profile may have summed up Skin best:  “Crookes offers listeners a nuanced and candid exploration of her multiracial identity. At a time when many conversations about race in the arts and calls for change have only recently begun, Crookes’ commitment to vulnerability in her storytelling has helped her connect with a growing—and loyal—fan base.”

Up next, Joy Crookes will tour the UK later this year in celebration of the new album; the run kicks off in November in Brighton and extends into next year when she will take the tour to Europe. Full list of dates below.

Aiways New U5 SUV

The all-electric Aiways U5 SUV has driven its way to multiple victories and prestigious awards this month, taking on three long-range endurance challenges across Europe and winning the Riviera Electric Challenge (14-16 September). 37 vehicles from 11 established brands took on the Riviera Electric Challenge driving 200km from Cagnes-sure-Mer, France, through Italy’s mountain scenery and ending in iconic Monaco. Aiways was the only Chinese manufacturer to enter the all-electric challenge, now in its seventh year. Live energy consumption data was tracked for each vehicle along the demanding route, and the Aiways U5 SUV outperformed the competition to take the top spot with French former rally driver Bernard Darniche behind the wheel alongside teammate Philippe Dupuy.

The former European Rally champion commented: “I have won many races and taking part in the Riviera Electric Challenge was a chance to experience the future of racing. It was great to test my competitive skills in a new way where winning was not about being fastest. The Aiways U5 SUV was a responsive and easy drive, and it was an absolute pleasure to be behind the wheel of this electric car for the 200km journey. We were not leading at the end of day one, but through consistent driving on day two, we secured first place in the Aiways U5 SUV.”

The weekend just gone; three Aiways U5 SUVs also participated in the famous E-Cannonball endurance drive. This prestigious event among the electric vehicle community attracted celebrity drivers and over 70 teams who had to cover the distance between Berlin and Munich, accumulating points for kilometers covered, number of charging stops and average energy consumption. One Aiways U5 SUV was ably driven by model and influencer Nicola Cavanis, who took her 860,000 followers along for the ride keeping them updated with live conversations during the entire trip. She stated: “It was great fun, and I enjoyed the drive in an all-electric car very much. Our team did well, we went smoothly between the challenges, and I got a lot of great feedback from my followers.” The second Aiways U5 SUV was entered by Aiways’ German retail partner and the main event sponsor, Euronics. The third Aiways U5 SUV was entered by an enthusiastic and loyal customer team. Both corporate teams and the private one arrived ahead of the time limit without any problems reaching the finish line in Munich.

Earlier in September, three electric U5 SUVs successfully completed the ED1000 endurance event, journeying 1,000km across Germany from Berlin via Bielefeld and Fulda to Munich in less than 14 hours – proving that electric mobility is a viable option for day-to-day and long-distance driving. Aiways entered two vehicles which finished only an hour apart. The third Aiways U5 SUV was entered by Aiways’ German service and mobility partner A.T.U who provided technical support for all brands participating in the endurance drive.

At the wheel of one Aiways U5 during the ED1000 was Dr Alex Klose, Executive Vice-President of Overseas Operations at Aiways. He commented, “We are very pleased with the consistent and impressive performance from the U5 during these long-distance tests, particularly because we competed against and outperformed many vehicles from mainstream car brands.

“Our ‘September success’ has been a fantastic illustration of the U5’s capabilities and its suitability as the main family car. Aiways’ future in Europe looks strong and we’re excited about participating in, and winning, more endurance races in the coming years.”

The positive and consistent performance from the Aiways U5 SUV across multiple long-range events this summer demonstrates the vehicle’s highly competitive real-world range of 330km – 82.5% of the official WLTP figure. With Level 2 autonomy and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including active cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot warning and the emergency braking assistant, every journey in U5 comes with safety and peace of mind.

With a starting price of $41,746*The Aiways U5 SUV offers a compelling price-to-range ratio and can charge from 30% to 80% in just 27 minutes, making zero-emissions driving a welcome choice for any adventure.

Aiways U5 SUV – safe, efficient, and comfortable

Sales partner Euronics is the main sponsor of the event and is sending another Aiways U5 SUV to the start

A factory standard Aiways U5 SUV, a team from Euronics, and a private customer team will enter the now legendary E-Cannonball rally on Saturday, 25th September in Berlin.

Along the route from Brandenburg, Berlin to Munich, this year’s participants will be making scheduled pitstops in Mühlhausen / Thuringia and in Bayreuth / Bavaria. The E-Cannonball is an endurance drive during which each participant tries to achieve the optimal ratio between driving speed / energy consumption and charging speed/battery size. The deciding factor will therefore be the individual teams’ tactics to find the ‘sweet spot’, meaning drivers will not be able to rely on the engine power or battery size of their EVs. Instead, the most efficient driving style, route selection, availability of charging stations, and traffic conditions will be the deciding factors.

The factory standard Aiways U5 SUV will be driven for the first time by Nicola Cavanis. The young woman from Munich, who is usually seen on the catwalks of the fashion world for Louisa Models, is looking forward to this ambitious task in a battery-electric vehicle. “I am really looking forward to this exciting challenge, especially driving more efficiently and economically. But I also have respect for the length of the journey and for the unpredictable roads and conditions,” said the 22-year-old model. “Of course, I will take my 860,000 followers with me on the trip, I am grateful for any helpful tips and will report regularly from the car,” continues the ambitious influencer.

Dr. Alexander Klose, Executive Vice President of Overseas Operations for Aiways said: “I am thrilled that three Aiways U5 SUVs are taking part in the E-Cannonball, particularly as one is a customer team.  It shows that we are on the right track with our range of vehicles and that our brand is growing in popularity among the EV sector. We pride ourselves on offering an affordable entry point into the electric vehicle market, especially since we are a young brand.  As we bring a new product to the European market each year, we hope to continue developing our customer base.”

Klose continues: “Nevertheless, I keep my fingers crossed for all the teams on the trip and wish them all success. Everyone should have enough incentive: after all, when else could you show your taillights to the former Formula 1 driver Heinz Harald Frentzen, who is also participating?”

From € 35,993 * the Aiways U5 SUV offers a convincing price-performance ratio, covering  400 km on a single charge. On longer journeys, such as the E-Cannonball, the Aiways U5 SUV will be able to recharge its battery from 30% to 80% in just 27 minutes. The bright and spacious interior of the Aiways U5 SUV will also impress on this long-distance journey. The SUV has been designed to offer the best-in-class space ensuring a comfortable ride for all passengers, the cabin alone provides up to 970mm of legroom. All safety features of the Aiways U5 SUV are operated easily and intuitively on the large, central infotainment screen. Innovative driver assistance systems including the lane departure warning system, the blind spot warning system, and the emergency braking assistant come as standard.

Euronics has been the exclusive German sales partner of the Aiways U5 electric SUV since 2020, making them the first electric retailer in Germany to sell electric vehicles as well as offering additional services. Euronics’ sponsorship of the E-Cannonball expands their brand awareness and aptitude in the field of electromobility.

“The Aiways U5 electric SUV is very important for Euronics and our commitment to electric mobility. As its exclusive sales partner, we are thrilled to be going on the e-mobility offensive again this year and to show that the driving range of electric cars has long ceased to be a problem, ”says Phillipp Neuffer, Head of Multichannel Marketing at EURONICS, who is also at E-Cannonball attends.

Hirschvogel at IAA Mobility in Munich

The automotive industry is in a state of upheaval. The demands on mobility are changing. This is a development that Hirschvogel, as a global automotive supplier, is actively addressing. Jörg Rückauf, who has been CEO of the Group since July 1 and who will assume responsibility for Future Business, says: “The mobility industry is undergoing a transformation. We want to take advantage of the resulting opportunities and help shape the change together with our customers.”

Hirschvogel, a family-owned steel and aluminum processing company headquartered in Denklingen, Upper Bavaria, has been systematically expanding its range of products and services over the years. In the automotive industry, it is moving into innovative products that are independent of the combustion engine. At the same time, the company is opening up to new sectors in the mobility environment and investing in other business areas by acquiring stakes in technology companies. These efforts have resulted in the generation of a partner ecosystem.

This year’s IAA Mobility in Munich will see Hirschvogel exhibiting for the first time together with some of those ecosystem partners. Under the name “Hirschvogel Mobility Network”, they will be presenting components and services for mobility concepts of the future. Among the partners present: Eatron Technologies, a specialist for intelligent software in electric and self-driving mobility concepts; Usaneers, experts for the development of innovative human-machine interfaces for the automotive industry; Automotive Synergies, supplier of electronic systems for passenger cars and commercial vehicles; and the Hirschvogel Innovation Center, which coordinates the innovation projects.

Developed for the short haul

The centerpiece of the Hirschvogel Mobility Network’s presence at the IAA will be the new AXIMO (derived from the Latin words for axis and movement), with which it is breaking into the micro-mobility market. AXIMO combines the expertise and services of the individual ecosystem partners to form a component platform for three- or four-wheeled micromobiles. The platform, which encompasses forged and machined components as well as operating displays and software applications, is a modular system. The modules can be used on the customer side to implement different concepts for micro-vehicles in a cost-efficient way. At the IAA Mobility, a delivery robot and a cargo bike will be showcased as application examples.

Tailored to E-mobility

In the automotive supply industry, the Hirschvogel Mobility Network has a growing portfolio of components for E-mobility. These encompass heat sinks for power electronics which, as forged components, demonstrate improved thermal conductivity. Other product highlights include stator housings and ready-for-assembly rotor shafts for electric motors in micromobiles, passenger cars or commercial vehicles, as well as forged and machined electric transmission shafts for passenger cars and trucks. In conjunction with the differentials and components for half shafts that have likewise been added to the portfolio, Hirschvogel can thus cover the entire electric powertrain.

Independent of the powertrain concept

These ready-for-assembly differentials and differential bevel gears expand the range of Hirschvogel components that are independent of the powertrain concept. An augmented reality presentation will make their advantages tangible for the audience at the IAA Mobility. Another focal point will be the chassis. Here, arms and struts, steering knuckles as well as wheel carriers made of forged aluminum will be presented. Compared with cast aluminum, their forged counterparts demonstrate improved mechanical properties and, as lightweight components, help reduce vehicle weight.

“Mobility is becoming more diverse. So is the range of products and services at Hirschvogel. We want to support our customers with suitable components and services when it comes to designing and implementing their mobility concepts. In so doing, we bring our manufacturing know-how–and gladly also our design expertise–to the table,” says Rückauf.

The Hirschvogel Automotive Group

The Hirschvogel Automotive Group is one of the largest manufacturers of forged parts made of steel and aluminum worldwide. As a development partner for modern mobility concepts, with a focus on the automotive industry, and as a production specialist in forging and machining, the core competencies of Hirschvogel include powertrain applications based on all drive technologies, as well as transmissions and chassis in passenger cars and commercial vehicles, and components in off-highway applications. Together with its network of partner companies, Hirschvogel is also active in the fields of electromobility, micro-mobility and software.

Hirschvogel is an independent family company and has approx. 5,700 employees worldwide. Total sales in 2020 amounted to 1.04 billion euros. The headquarters of the Group are located in Denklingen, Upper Bavaria. Likewise located there are Hirschvogel Umformtechnik GmbH and its parent company Hirschvogel Holding GmbH.
