Lil Baby – My Turn

Lil Baby declared 2020 as his year, and he continues prove not just that, but that he owns 2020 as he goes from strength-to-strength. This week the Grammy-nominated rapper is the first and only artist of 2020 to go RIAA-certified double-platinum in the U.S. with his release of “My Turn” (Quality Control Music, Wolfpack Global, Motown Records). “My Turn” is both 2020’s highest selling & highest streaming album in the U.S.

Lil Baby also hit #1 at urban radio for the 7th time — with his important and powerful single “The Bigger Picture,” hit 20 Billion streams globally, and was named Vevo’s Top Performing Hip Hop Artist of 2020.

All in a week’s work for Lil Baby who is celebrating his many milestones by giving fans the video release of “Forget That (featuring Rylo Rodriguez).” Rodriguez himself is an artist signed to Lil Baby’s 4PF label, where Baby continues to support artists and share his knowledge of being successful while staying authentic and true to himself.

WATCH: FORGET THAT (FEATURING RYLO RODRIGUEZ) HERE

Earlier this year, Lil Baby graced the cover of Rolling Stone; tied Prince and Paul McCartney for Billboard Hot 100 hits; saw his February #1 release of “My Turn” return to the top of the Billboard 200 three months later; spent 5 weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (tying Taylor Swift for most weeks atop the list in 2020). In June, Lil Baby dropped the powerful record, “The Bigger Picture,” articulating frustration, confusion, and a call to stand up for something much bigger than himself.

With such a rapid rise and a relentless stream of critical and commercial hits, it’s clear that Lil Baby is one of the greatest and most important success stories in hip-hop. At 25, has been one of the most dominant and critically acclaimed names in rap since his first release in 2017, and with just 3 years under his belt, it’s clear his run is far from over.

Neil Diamond x 2 L.P Set

On August 7, 2020, Capitol/UMe will celebrate some of Neil Diamond‘s most electrifying live performances with the release of his 5 Hot August Night albums as a 2 L.P. black and limited-edition color vinyl set. The iconic performer’s mastery combined with the palpable excitement of the crowd is evident throughout the Hot August Night canon, which includes Hot August NightLove At The Greek, and Hot August Night II, as well as Hot August Night III, and Hot August Night/NYC, available on vinyl for the very first time. Neil Diamond’s All-Time Greatest Hits, a 23-track, standard weight 2LP collection, will also be released on black vinyl on August 7.

Hot August Night -The legend of Neil Diamond was unquestionably born on August 24, 1972, when the young singer/songwriter took over Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre for ten sold-out nights. Diamond and his band were at the peak of their game that summer, a night that would be captured forever on the two-record set Hot August Night. On one of these nights, Robert Hilburn of The Los Angeles Times declared, “His 1972 Hot August Night stand at the Greek remains among the most celebrated series of shows by a mainstream pop-rock performer ever in Los Angeles.”

As one of Diamond’s most successful releases worldwide, the album was multi-platinum in the U.S. and spent a mind-blowing 29 weeks on the top of the Australian charts. Hot August Night is one of the most celebrated and acknowledged albums of Diamond’s career and arguably one of the greatest live albums ever recorded. The original Hot August Night (the title of which was gleaned from the opening line to one of Diamond’s most celebrated tracks, 1969’s “Brother Love’s Travelling Salvation Show,) will be available as a black 2LP or crystal-clear limited-edition 2LP. Listen to Hot August Night, HERE.  Love At The Greek (the 1977 live double album) was Diamond’s second album recorded at famed Hollywood venue and the second album produced by Robbie Robertson. Love At The Greek (which features standout tracks such as “Holly Holly” and a fifteen-minute version of “Jonathan Livingston Seagull”) will be available on vinyl for the first time in 30 years as a black 2LP or a translucent non-metallic gold limited-edition 2LP. Listen to Love At The Greek, HERE.

The Platinum-certified Hot August Night II (the follow up to the original Hot August Night album) was recorded in August of 1986 and initially released in 1987, reaching #59 on the Billboard 200 chart.  Hot August Night II features twenty of Diamond’s biggest hits, including “Love On The Rocks,” “America,” and “Song Sung Blue” and will also be available on vinyl for the first time in 30 years as a black 2LP or a white limited-edition 2LP. Listen to Hot August Night II, HERE.

Hot August Night Ill chronicles Diamond’s triumphant return to the legendary Greek Theatre in Los Angeles in August 2012. The magical evening was Diamond’s 40th-anniversary celebration of the original multiplatinum-selling Hot August Night collection that was recorded at the very same venue in 1972. Following the 2012 shows at The Greek, Billboard Magazine said of Diamond’s performance, “His voice remains powerful and accurate; he reaches towards the baritone register for emphasis, just as he did in the 70’s. …he never falters in delivering every line with conviction.” From the fine acoustic twang of “Forever in Blue Jeans” to the pure Americana swing of “Kentucky Woman” to the eternal sing-along sunshine of “Sweet Caroline” to the raw emotionality of “I Am…I Said” to the welcoming arms of “America.”

Hot August Night Ill cements Diamond’s mastery of the live stage and his unique connection with audiences the world over. This is the first time that Hot August Night Ill will be available on vinyl and will be available as a black 2LP or a sea glass limited-edition 2LP. Listen to Hot August Night III, HERE.

Hot August Night/NYC – Recorded live at New York’s Madison Square Garden in August 2008 (originally released in 2009, the album includes 25 career-spanning hits from Neil’s phenomenal four-night sold-out run at the fabled concert hall. Hot August Night/NYC debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 in 2009 and is certified Platinum. This is the first time Hot August Night/NYC will be available on vinyl and will be available as a black 2LP or translucent red limited-edition 2LP. Listen to Hot August Night/NYC, HERE.

All-Time Greatest Hits marks the Grammy^® winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s most comprehensive hits collection, encompasses the artist’s entire body of work, from the earliest recordings through the present-day. Neil Diamond’s All-Time Greatest Hits black 2LP features the original studio recordings of such standards as “Sweet Caroline,” “Holly Holy,” “I Am…I Said,” and chart-toppers like “Cracklin’ Rosie,” “Song Sung Blue,” and the rarely heard original solo version of “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers.” The set captures his beginnings as a songwriter-turned-singer in New York to his multi-platinum days in Hollywood. Listen to All-Time Greatest Hits, HERE.

Throughout his illustrious and wide-ranging career, Neil Diamond has sold over 130 million albums worldwide and has dominated the charts for more than five decades with 38 Top 40 singles and 16 Top 10 albums. He has achieved record sales with 40 Gold albums, 21 Platinum albums, and 11 Multi-Platinum albums.

A Grammy Award-winning artist, Diamond is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, and has recently received The Johnny Mercer Award and the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award, two of the highest honors bestowed upon songwriters. Diamond’s many other achievements include a Golden Globe Award, 13 Grammy nominations, ASCAP Film and Television Award, Billboard Icon Award, American Music Award, and 2009’s NARAS’s MusiCares Person of the Year Award. Mae Muller – “I Don’t Want Your Money”

MAE MULLER DEBUTS NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO, “I DON’T WANT YOUR MONEY”

WATCH/LISTEN HERE

COMBINED GLOBAL STREAMS OF MULLER’S SONGS SURPASS 52 MILLION

“Unapologetic, self-assured and fiercely independent, Mae Muller is the next big British sensation.” – PAPER

Today, Capitol Records released Mae Muller’s new single, “I Don’t Want Your Money,” and the accompanying video. The song’s soft, soulful vibe contrasts sharply with her very direct lyrics. Muller makes it clear that money can’t buy her love – after all, she’s financially self-reliant and looking for something deeper. Download/stream “I Don’t Want Your Money” HERE.

Mae Muller says, “I wrote ‘I Don’t Want Your Money’ just under two years ago now, and I’m so happy it’s finally out! I just wanted to show that there are other ways to be treated, rather than just materialistically, especially if you have your own money! I’m financially independent, so you have to find other ways to impress me, I don’t need anything else apart from love and affection. Treat me with respect and we’re GOOD.”  The track, which was included in Spotify’s RADAR: First Listen program, was co-written by Muller and Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith, Khalid, Alicia Keys), who produced it along with Steve Fitzmaurice. Mae shot the official video herself on her iPhone while quarantined at home. The video was directed remotely by Sophie Muller (No Doubt, Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Beyoncé). In the light-hearted clip, Mae takes viewers on a colorful virtual journey of different looks, setting the scenes and displaying the emotions that come with having to explain what you do (and don’t!) need from a relationship. Watch the video HERE.

Hailed as “a clear pop sensation in the making” by Wonderland and the “new queen” by NYLON, Muller’s music pairs self-assured lyrics with strong narratives and entwined soulful pop melodies – a style that is quickly cementing the young London-based artist as a spokeswoman of her generation. She brings the same lively sensibility to her weekly #STAYHOME Instagram series, “Muller’s Corner,” featuring a mix of other artists and fans. It can be seen each Friday at 11:00 AM PT.

Prior to the stay-at-home order, Muller had completed a sold-out UK/EU headline tour and a 32-date run with Little Mix. Combined global streams of Muller’s song have already surpassed 52 million. “I Don’t Want Your Money” comes on the heels of her early 2020 single, “Therapist,” which landed on over 45 Spotify playlists as well as Apple Music’s A-List Pop, In My Room, Future Hits and more.   Muller notes, “I know what I want to say, and I know what the message is that I want to get across. I want women and young girls going through hard shit to put on my songs and feel better. We’re going through this together…”

Adam Hambrick – “Between Me and the End of the World”

ADAM HAMBRICK RELEASES COVID-19 INSPIRED SONG “BETWEEN ME AND THE END OF THE WORLD”

FEATURED BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS’ ‘REFLECTING THE TIMES’

Capitol Records Nashville / Buena Vista Records’ Adam Hambrick released his new song, “Between Me and the End of the World,” today. Listen HERE.

The song is a heartfelt tribute to Adams’s wife, a physician assistant who has been treating patients throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, and what it has been like for Adam watching her help those in need despite the risk to own self. “This song is for all the people who step in and serve people when things go horribly wrong,” says Adam. “I have spent this quarantine watching my wife go off to work as a physician assistant to do her version of that, testing and treating people for the virus. It has given me a new appreciation for all the people who spend their lives serving others in difficult times. It’s terrifying seeing someone you love do what they were made to do but have to do it in harm’s way.”

In a departure from the norm, Adam wrote “Between Me and the End of the World” during a solo write and recorded the vocal in his bedroom while his wife was working alongside him. All of the additional recording was done remotely from each musicians’ home studio. The track was featured earlier this week by The Associated Press in their piece ‘reflecting the times’ describing the song as “a tearjerker.”

Duke Dumont’s Debut – “Duality’

DUKE DUMONT UNVEILS DEBUT ALBUM DUALITY

THE 10 TRACK RELEASE INCLUDES HIT SINGLES “THERAPY,” “THE POWER” AND “LET ME GO”

BUY/STREAM DUALITY HERE

Multi-platinum hit-maker Duke Dumont has released his highly anticipated debut album DUALITY. Listen HERE.

Channeling his years of experience into a cohesive record that epitomizes his core beliefs, DUALITY is an honest, cathartic expression of Dumont’s desire to embody the mentality of a true artist, liberated from genre specifics and scored with his own sonic fingerprint.

With the LP split into two halves – one dancefloor-oriented and one introspective – it’s heart on sleeve, vocal house record “Therapy” opens proceedings, a track that was released as a single at the start of the year. Next up is club anthem “The Power,” a collaboration with UK singer-songwriter Zak Abel that was also released as a single, and “Obey,” a cut that sees Dumont link up with New Jersey artist Roland Clark. With no fewer than six collaborations across the LP, “The Fear” and “Nightcrawler” then feature US singer, songwriter and pianist Niia and Australian duo Say Lou Lou respectively.

The second half of the record is where Dumont’s more introspective and personal tracks blossom. There is an appearance from Colorado singer-singer songwriter How to Dress Well on “Together,” before latest single “Let Me Go” an emotion-drenched track stitched together with the soaring vocals of Australian artist Ry X, closes things out in the most poignant way possible.

The ten-track release is a long-player in the traditional sense, produced to be listened to in its entirety, rather than a collection of radio-friendly singles. Besides his own production and vocal features, the album incorporates live string arrangements, guitar players, drummers, and piano keys.

A production dynamo responsible for a stunning back catalogue that includes international chart-topping hits, multi-Grammy nominations and bumpin’ Chicago-influenced underground productions, Dumont is a contemporary electronic music powerhouse. He has amassed over 2.5 billion streams across his back-catalogue of previous anthems, scoring platinum-selling UK #1s with timeless records such as “Ocean Drive.”

A career-affirming release, DUALITY is a staggering album and the culmination of all of Duke Dumont’s previous work.

The Fear (feat. Niia)

Duke Dumont is a contemporary electronic music powerhouse. Deeply committed to creating high quality music imbued with emotional depth, Dumont is versatile, extremely adept and hard working. His illustrious career has taken him on tour around the world, many times over, and placed him in the top tier of electronic music artists of his ilk.

Since 2007 Duke Dumont has channeled his deep love for electronic music into a variety of acclaimed releases, moving through pumping electro and vibrant techno to conquer the UK charts with “Need U 100%.” His early releases on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings helped establish his reputation for producing high quality club music that moves the dance floor, physically and emotionally. By 2012 he’d produced two career-defining EPs – For Club Use, Vol 1 and For Club Use, Vol 2. Tracks like “The Giver” cemented Dumont’s rep for catchy hooks, precision arrangement and powerful emotion. A year later he hit the No.1 spot in the UK charts with “Need U (100%) (featuring A*M*E),” demonstrating his ability to merge classic house motifs with first-rate songwriting.

“Need U (100%)” was followed with another UK No.1 “I Got U,” both songs achieving platinum sales. Between 2013 and 2020 he hit the Billboard Dance Chart No.1 with seven singles, including “The Power,” “Won’t Look Back” and “Ocean Drive.” With each release Duke Dumont stayed true to his club roots, achieving widespread success.

ASHTON TRAVIS & CHASE B RELEASE NEW SINGLE “CASINO”

LISTEN HERE

“The song is its own acid trip of pure feeling, melody and memory…equally forlorn and uplifting. It’s a vibe that keeps you undoubtedly on edge, in the best way.”

“Ashton Travis has the buttery vocals that could make just about anything sound appealing.”

“Armed with a sharp, melodic set of deliveries, the liveliness and determination behind this offering act as an unbreakable foundation for Travis’ career.”

ABOUT ASHTON TRAVIS:
Ashton Travis is from the best city in the world. He knows he’s biased, but the charming poet-turned-singer from Houston, TX is more than sentimental about his hometown—he has the facts to make his case. “Houston has a strong style and culture, from music, to food, style, the cars we drive, and some of the most beautiful black people in the world; We’re champions in sports, and we put out legendary music acts from DJ Screw to Beyonce to Ashton Travis,” he boasts. To Ashton, being from Houston means having an ear for “slow, loud and banging” beats oozing from the stereos of unhurried cars on gravel roads—vehicles affectionately known as slabs. In that regard, Ashton’s sound is uniquely Houston. You feel it just as much as you hear it, his catchy, soulful melodies over atmospheric production firmly rooting him within a legacy of music talent from the city.

Born to parents from Guyana and Antigua, Ashton was a curious kid with a wandering mind. His father brought him to barbershops where he would see the old school Cadillacs and hear the bass-heavy chopped and screwed hip-hop so quintessential to Houston. Growing up in their Seventh-day Adventist household, Ashton went to church every weekend and followed the Sabbath. With friends, he played basketball, rode bikes along the bayous, and made pseudo professional mixtapes that they would burn to CDs and pass around. A poet at heart, Ashton was a member of the city’s National Poetry Slam team and grew up writing stanzas before turning his focus to lyrics. After watching his cousin make beats on Fruity Loops, he was encouraged to write raps.

For Ashton, his curiosity was rooted in a desire to see the world. Ashton went to Howard University, making a name for himself on campus before dropping out to pursue music full-time. His wanderlust took him to Los Angeles and New York City, but forging a path as an artist wasn’t without its challenges. Fast forward to today, and Ashton is more confident than ever in his gift. A self-described overthinker, Ashton’s songs explore the complexities of relationships and the depths of his mind, from dreams to aspirations, fears and insecurities. “I want people to empathize because I feel like I’m empathizing through my music—I’m talking not just for myself,” he says.

Ashton’s debut EP Almost There is born from the perspective of someone seeing life with new eyes. “Since that day, it’s like I’ve been reborn or something,” he says about a recent encounter with death that shed new light on his life. Single “Death Row”, an excavation and release of inner demons left unaddressed, speaks most clearly to Ashton’s newfound outlook. “I’ve overthought a lot of things and I’ve held myself back from different opportunities because I’ve been living in my mind, worried, focusing on what could be,” he confesses. “With the music I have now, it just feels like a collection of songs that scream I’m here, I’m alive, I’m happy to be alive, and I’ma talk about shit that moves my spirit, hoping that it moves the next person’s spirit that listens to it because we ain’t got all day. We could be dead tomorrow.”
