SAFE – All I Need

Rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer SAFE confessed his love in new single “All I Need” (Bando Recordings/RCA Records). Produced by Diego Castro, this new track shows SAFE’s sweet vocal range as he declares, “I’ll be by your side each and every day, any day, anyway.” Listen to “All I Need” HERE and watch the Jimmer-directed music video HERE.

SAFE on “All I Need”: This song is about the thrill of being in love with somebody, there’s nothing better than the first kiss.

Earlier this year, SAFE released the first installment of his new EP Get Home SAFE (Part 1) which features Kaash Paige on “By My Side” and Kiana Ledé on “Contagious.” The 7-track EP unlocks a unique sonic space, creating a delicate balance of contemporary R&B and hip hop. He received praise from NPR, Billboard, Teen Vogue, and Uproxx, receiving comparison to Drake and Brent Faiyaz. Listen to Get Home SAFE (Part 1) HERE.

About SAFE

In 2016, the then 18-year-old SAFE became Toronto’s secret weapon, working closely with Drake and Oliver El-Khatib. SAFE came up through the Halal Gang collective, consisting of Mustafa The Poet, Puffy L’z and Smoke Dawg. On June 30, 2018, Smoke Dawg was killed, sending the city into a state of shocked mourning. “He was the voice of the streets,” mentioned SAFE in an interview with Vice. After the tragic loss, SAFE took some time to himself and relocated to New York. Since then, the city of Toronto has been waiting to hear what’s next. In 2019, he released “Paid In Full” featuring Playboi Carti. Pitchfork reviewed the single, stating “his light and buttery melody shines over the gloomy instrumental.” Now in 2022, SAFE is looking to elevate. The impact he made in Toronto back in 2016 still remains and he is looking to spread that impact to the rest of the world.

ABRA × Playboi Carti – Unlock It

The dynamic Alt-R&B singer/producer ABRA announces that she has inked a recording deal with Bryan Leach’s Polo Grounds Music and RCA Records. To coincide with the exciting news, ABRA released “Unlock It” featuring Playboi Carti, her first major label debut single. Click HERE to listen.

Produced by ABRA and Boys Noize, “Unlock It” reunites the longtime friends for an addictive, repeat-worthy song that highlights her distinctive sound and adoration for retro sounding production and whimsical lyrics.

“‘Unlock It’ means so much to me for more reasons than I can count, and as someone very sentimental and nostalgic, it is truly a blessing to be able to unlock the next level of my career with a friend,” states ABRA. “I’ve always been so proud of what Carti’s been able to achieve and having the fortune of reuniting with him for this song specifically feels like a trophy to what the song is about—validation for the long winding journey it took to get here and makes me feel a little more at home in this crazy new world I’m about to step into!”

As an independent artist, ABRA has put in the work to build a solid foundation of praise and achievements, including being tapped by Bad Bunny directly to appear on “Sorry Papi” for his recent Billboard #1 debut album El Ultimo Tour del Mundo (“the collaboration that fits best on the album…” according to Rolling Stone). Her two EPs, Princess and Rose have created a loyal fanbase (with celebrity love from Ty Dolla $ign, Steve Lacy, Frank Ocean, G-Eazy, Solange and more), she has toured the world with acts such as Charlie XCX and performed at several major festivals in Europe and America. In 2019, ABRA’s song “Roses” was featured in a Revlon campaign and throughout 2020 her music has been used in Hulu and YouTube ads. In addition to her notoriety within the fashion industry, ABRA made her acting debut in the 2018 film Assassination Nation.

“Making music as an independent artist has been a lot of fun, but I’m excited to start this new chapter with a team to see how high this vision can really fly,” comments ABRA. “As they say, ‘if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.’ I’m looking forward to finally sharing more music and seeing where this path with Polo Grounds Music and RCA takes me.”

Stay tuned for more news on ABRA as she prepares for the release of her debut album on Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records.

About Trippie Redd:

One of the most versatile and creatively daring artists in hip-hop today, Trippie Redd makes music that’s both wildly experimental and massively appealing. Since delivering his debut mixtape A Love Letter to You in 2017, the multi-platinum-selling, chart-topping rapper, singer and songwriter has continually defied genre boundaries, embedding his melodic take on rap with frenetic elements of rock-and-roll and heavy metal. And with his penetrating lyrics and nuanced but hard-hitting vocal performance, the 21-year-old Ohio native matches that endless ingenuity with a powerfully raw emotional impact.

A self-professed workaholic who’s now debuted five consecutive projects in the top 5 of the Billboard 200 chart —Trippie got his start as a teenager “living in a basement with roaches recording music,” as he tells it. Born Michael Lamar White IV and raised in Canton, Ohio, he grew up on hip-hop icons like Tupac Shakur, Nas, and Jay-Z, but later became fascinated with the shock-rock of Slipknot and Rob Zombie. As he recalls, the urge to create his own music arose soon after his older brother (an aspiring rapper who went by the name Dirty Redd) died in a car accident when Trippie was 10. (“I took his dream and did it myself,” Trippie says now.) Drawing much of his inspiration from the free-flowing style and inventive lyricism of Lil Wayne, Trippie began recording in his cousin’s basement and later relocated to Atlanta to further hone his skills, quickly landing a record deal with 10K Projects.

Though 2020 brought its fair share of adjustments, Trippie used his time in quarantine to make some of his boldest career moves yet, including making his acting debut during an episode of Lil Dicky’s critically acclaimed DAVE and headlining Rolling Loud’s Loud Stream. Trippie also dropped his highly anticipated album, Pegasus, on Halloween. The mythical LP, which debuted at #2, included the intoxicating “Excitement” featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR and highlighted Trippie bridging the generational gap with the legendary Busta Rhymes on “I Got You.” The deluxe version of Pegasus comes in the form of NEON SHARK: Presented By Travis Barker, released in February.

BUKU Music + Art Project, New Orleans’s premiere multi-faceted boutique music festival, announced the lineup for BUKU: Planet B, a one-time-only fall iteration of its flagship spring event. Planet B offers up an alternative way to dance through the rabbit-hole of BUKU on the banks of the Big Easy. Aiming to celebrate the resiliency of New Orleans and the triumphant return of live music, BUKU: Planet B is purposefully boutique in size but captures the expansive multi-genre curatorial ethos of BUKU, welcoming over 50 acts to its creative playground on October 22-23, 2021.

For the past decade, BUKU has fostered a boutique festival experience that proudly reflects the diverse and progressive subculture of New Orleans. It’s birthed the #BUKREWE, a community of festival lovers, carnival kings and queens, ragers and twerkers, that come in all shapes and sizes, flowing together along the banks of the Mississippi. Those in the know can attest to the wild costumes, unhinged self-expression, and myriad of personalities that set the BUKU vibe from start to finish and have made it one of North America’s most authentic places to party.

Continuing its melting pot approach to curation, BUKU: Planet B welcomes a lineup that spans genre and style. Topping the bill are some of modern music’s biggest stars like powerhouse hip-hop icon Megan Thee Stallion, melodic bass music’s ultimate champion Illenium, pop-punk vocalist Machine Gun Kelly, experimental rapper Playboi Carti, and Memphis rap chart-topper Pooh Shiesty

As you would expect in New Orleans, dancing takes center stage at Planet B with the cutting-edge eclecticism of producers Kaytranada and Jamie xx, Australian dance music producer and vocalist Alison Wonderland, and the trio of bass titans Zeds Dead, Subtronics, and SVDDEN DEATH: VOYD. Adding to the diverse vibe, Chris Lake and Purple Disco Machine will also treat the #BUKREWE to their discography of genre-defining house heaters.

Forward-thinking live performances remain in focus at Planet B with feel-good frequencies from singer Still Woozy, bone-crushing vibes from industrial rap/metal artist Ghostemane, next gen star British singer-songwriter and poet Arlo Parks, genre-bending rap/electro-pop performer Ashnikko, and high-energy rappers EARTHGANG, Flo Milli, slowthai, Yung Baby Tate, and $NOT.

As a barometer for the sounds taking over tomorrow, BUKU: Planet B welcomes breakout stars like Remi Wolf, Dua Saleh, Moore Kismet, VNSSA, 박혜진 Park Hye Jin, TVBOO and others, plus over 20 local New Orleans acts in an effort to showcase and support the local arts community, including the first festival performance by Pell’s GLBL WRMNG collective.

“For the past year, we’ve watched our fans step outside of their comfort zones and persevere through weird times,” said Dante DiPasquale, BUKU’s co-creator.  “PLANET B is the result of us being inspired by them to do the same, and all of us at Team BUKU are excited to finally party with them again.”

Set against the uniquely New Orleans backdrop of the haunting Market Street Power Plant and the historic grounds of the old TwiRoPa venue, Planet B aims to harness the chaos of the last year and release it in the form of raw creativity. Attendees will be guided between multiple stage environments, a dizzying landscape of art installations, street-artist performances, and a multitude of surprises. Fans may find themselves mesmerized by a local graffiti artist, enhancing their costume with a custom face painting, joining a marching band procession, catching a pop-up breakdancing crew or just hanging with friends while gazing at the New Orleans skyline. It’s an urban oasis as much about oddities and community as it is about the headliners.

Civic duty too remains at the heart of the BUKU spirit, as the event organizers continue their Social Responsibility Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment geared towards social justice, reducing the environmental impact of the event, and supporting New Orleans community organizations. BUKU doubled down on this commitment in 2020 alongside its charitable partner Upbeat Academy by launching their Take Action Project (“TAP”). Thus far, the project has completed three fan-mobilizing campaigns raising over $10,000 for racial justice, voting rights, and environmental sustainability organizations. BUKU will continue this mission in 2021 alongside Upbeat Academy, a non-profit that inspires and empowers New Orleans youth through music education, who also act as the beneficiary of proceeds from every ticket sold to BUKU or Planet B. Learn more about these programs here

BUKU: Planet B will be the ultimate release for music fans in dire need of connection and creative exploration. It will continue to provide an inclusive home for the technicolor characters that call New Orleans home while welcoming #BUKREWE far and wide to experience the city’s eccentric culture for themselves. Come and get it.

Trippie Redd x Playboi Carti Miss The Rage

Released on May 7th through 10K Projects/ Virgin Music, Trippie Redd and Playboi Carti’s long awaited “Miss The Rage” has debuted at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. With over 38.2M global combined streams and no music video to date, this is the highest charting single debut for both artists. Furthermore, “Miss The Rage” was the #1 most added song at Rhythm radio yesterday, and is currently the third most added song at Urban radio. Lauded by The New York Times, Rolling Stone, FADER, Complex and more, “Miss The Rage” currently occupies the Spotify playlists; Today’s Top Hits, Rap Caviar, Pop Rising, Get Turnt and more. “Miss The Rage” sits at #1 on Soundcloud’s Top 50 US and WW charts and #5 on Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Songs.

In just a few short years, rapper Playboi Carti has amassed millions of streams worldwide, with a global appeal that has steadily placed him within the upper echelon of new stars. The Atlanta native first started his career in high school under the name Sir Cartier. Raised on a cross-section of soulful Pop greats like Prince and Michael Jackson mixed with Trap stars like Jeezy and Gucci Mane, Carti found his own voice, securing local buzz with tracks like “YUNGXANHOE” and “Lost.” He graduated high school and was bound for the Bronx, where connecting with the A$AP Mob became fortuitous as he later forged a bond with leader A$AP Rocky and became a de-facto Mob affiliate. A series of viral hits followed—from “Broke Boi” to “Fetti”—as Carti later inked a deal with Interscope Records and dropped his eponymous mixtape in 2017.

The project featured the single “Magnolia,” as its meteoric rise garnered over 600 million cumulative streams with cosigns from Beyoncé and features on series like Atlanta. The following year, Carti dropped his debut album Die Lit, debuting at Number 3 on the Billboard 200, boasting collaborations like Lil Uzi Vert on “Shoota,” “Poke It Out” with Nicki Minaj, “Love Hurts” with Travis Scott and many more. In April of 2020, he returned with “@MEH,” cracking the 80 million mark already in streams. In December 2020, Playboi Carti released his highly anticipated album Whole Lotta Red. The album marked his first #1 album on Billboard’s 200 chart and received 160 Million global streams within its first week. In addition, Whole Lotta Red trended #1 upon its release on Twitter, and tracks from the album held 3 out of the top ten trending spots at YouTube including #1 upon release.  With a constant string of hits, Playboi Carti doesn’t miss.

About Gunna

When the history books open up, “Drip” will forever be associated with the meteoric and platinum rise of Gunna. Dubbed “The King of Drip” and pegged “to take over the rap world” by Interview, he generated over one billion cumulative streams and achieved one platinum and two gold certifications within a year. Now, he submerges the whole game in “Drip” on his 2019 full-length debut, Drip or Drown 2 [Young Stoner Life Records/300 Entertainment], and singles “One Call” and “Speed It Up.”

Born and raised in College Park, GA, he immediately gravitated towards innovative hip-hop from the likes of OutKast, Cam’Ron, and Future. Signed to YSL Records, he famously teamed up with label boss Young Thug and Travis Scott on “Floyd Mayweather” from 2016’s Jeffery. Shortly after, he dropped the seminal mixtape Drip Season. 2017 saw him serve up the sequel Drip Season 2 and Drip or Drown. He ascended to superstardom during 2018. Drip Season 3 put up unbelievable numbers, earned Drake’s fandom, and garnered looks from Rolling Stone, GQ, Vogue, Complex, and more. Not to mention, he joined forces with frequent collaborator Lil Baby for the collaborative Drip Harder, which bowed at #4 on the Billboard Top 200. The project yielded the platinum Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit “Drip Too Hard” and gold “Never Recover” [with Drake]. He teamed up with Travis Scott and NAV for the ASTROWORLD favorite “Yosemite,” Mariah Carey for “Stay Long Love You,” and Metro Boomin for “Space Cadet,” which they performed on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Plus, he participated in fashion shows for  Pyer Moss, Off-White, and Yohji Yamamoto.

Now that Drip Season is underway, it’s never going to end.
