McLaren 720S Spider

Up and coming multi-hyphenate filmmaker, Ruslan Pelykh has been commissioned by luxury dealership McLaren Beverly Hills to direct a one-of-a-kind video featuring the McLaren 720S Spider. The 720S Spider has the best of both worlds as it combines the adrenaline pumping rush of a supercar while sporting a retractable roof allowing the driver to enjoy its smooth ride under the sun to fully embrace the Los Angeles lifestyle. 
 
The video, which was launched on McLaren Beverly Hills’ YouTube channel, features a captivating Helios Orange 720S Spider and models Michael Yerger, Ari Welkom, and Brittany Phillips, and was produced by Adam Maffei. Similar to the McLaren designers, Pelykh is inspired by the human form and captures close-ups of the models’ body parts in movement, illustrating the correlation to different components of the vehicle. To Pelykh, a woman’s curves mirror the ergonomically designed outer shell, a shoulder morphs into the hood of a car, and a spinal cord resembles the spoiler. Pelykh masters the art of creating powerful yet graceful imagery by contributing an innovative and cutting edge perspective, unlikely to be seen by supercar connoisseurs.
 
As such, this production marks Pelykh’s first supercar-focused project. The video also accentuates the intricacies of the car as well as the unique interiors and views of the dashboard from the driver’s seat. The glossy exteriors are beautifully highlighted and the distinctive details that are exclusive to the McLaren design are brought to the spotlight. The video comes to an end with a sensual display of the power of touch, concluding with an invitation to the viewer to climb into the driver’s seat.
 
“As a child, I was fascinated with cars and as I grew older that passion turned into sketching them, specifically coming up with my own designs. I drew cars nonstop and to now be able to create a video for McLaren Beverly Hills is a very special project for me. When I look at a McLaren I see not only hard work, high technology, and a perfectly made vehicle, I see it as artwork and the emotions people put into the process from design to completion. This specific model, the 720S Spider immediately made me think of the human body so I went with that route and started shooting the model’s bodies against different components of the car. All of my videos are shot by hand and I handle the postproduction, which is not very typical in the industry, but McLaren Beverly Hills gave me the full freedom to develop my idea and vision and because of that, I was able to create a video how I imagined.”

Ukranian born, New York City-based Pelykh is known for his artistic vision and handheld camera usage. He has worked with brands such as Alexander Wang, British Vogue, L’Officiel Italia, Rag & Bone and models including Alexina Graham, Doutzen Kroes, Elsa Hosk, and Hailey Bieber amongst others.
 
The McLaren 720S Spider performs like no other as it is exceptionally fast yet still boasts a phenomenal driver engagement. At the heart of the 720S Spider is a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that generates 720PS and 770Nm allowing the speed to go from 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds and 0-124mph in just 7.9 seconds. The Retractable Hard Top is a new design by McLaren with a one-piece carbon fibre roof panel as standard. For open-air driving, the roof can be lowered in just 11 seconds at speeds of up to 31mph.

This week marked the first-time Los Angeles has played host to a Formula 1 event. The Formula 1 Hollywood Ride of Fame took place on a closed down Hollywood Blvd over the course of two days, beginning Tuesday, October 29th, and ending on Wednesday 30th. Leading luxury car dealership group, O’Gara Coach Beverly Hills, sponsored the event as well as provided three of the participating vehicles, a McLaren GT4, McLaren 600LT, and an Aston Martin DBS.

Formula 1 kicked off the event by featuring a static display of past and present F1 cars, giving enthusiasts the opportunity to take an up-close and personal look at the vehicles. The O’Gara Coach vehicles were also on display at this time, garnering attention from the crowds hoping to snap a photo and peek at the models. By 4 pm on Wednesday, the live festivities officially began and thousands of spectators were lined up on Hollywood Blvd to watch the live show. O’Gara kicked off the show by driving their cars through the track driven by world-class professionals including Parris Mullins, Mark Proto, and Geoff Reeves. The crowd was mesmerized as these dazzling vehicles exhibited a true pinnacle of supercars in the hustle and bustle of Hollywood Blvd. Following O’Gara’s presentation, Red Bull provided an extravagant display of dare devil’s parachuting from the sky to arrive right on the track, stunt bikers, and acrobats. As a special delight, a live orchestra led by composer Brian Tyler performed the F1 theme song.

Wednesday also featured demonstrations from three Formula 1 world champions Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen. The trio was accompanied by their respective teams; Mercedes AMG Petronas Racing, Renault F1, and Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, before heading to Austin Texas to compete in the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. All three riders also took part in an inaugural “F1 Donut Competition”, and with the help of the crowd, guest judge Brian Tyler chose Valterri as the champion. To close out the festivities all three world champion riders took to the track and all completed donuts with their race cars at the same time. Safe to say, the crowd went wild!

On Sunday morning (August 11th), high-end car dealership maven O’Gara Coach Beverly Hills hosted its summer edition of the Sunset Granturismo: “Road to Pebble Beach”, bringing Southern California’s car community together to enjoy a morning of cars and coffee at Sunset Plaza. To kick off the anticipated Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance drive beginning this Thursday, August 15th, O’Gara brought out the old and the new, spotlighting cars such as the Koenigsegg Agera RS1 and Agera S HH Edition alongside classics from the O’Gara family including Bugatti, Lamborghini, McLaren, Rimac, Rolls-Royce, amongst others.

Car lovers were given the opportunity to mingle and enjoy their coffee while admiring the incredible line-up of approximately 250 luxury cars, including multiple Bugatti Chiron’s, Rimac Concept One and Concept Two, Ferrari LaFerrari, Ferrari F40, Pagani Huayra BC and Roadster, and Lamborghini Miura all in extravagant color palettes. In addition, car aficionados had the chance to view the iconic 1939 Bugatti Type 57, courtesy of the Petersen Auto Museum.

Sunset GT welcomed over 3,000 spectators with a special appearance from automotive fanatic Tim Burton aka Shmee150, whose iconic “Shmee mobile” Ford GT was brought in from Miami to LA. Sunset GT additionally welcomed automotive influencers such as Supercar Blondie, Vehicle Virgins, Seen Through Glass, Effspot, Whitesse Jr, and Matt Farah.

360 Magazine had the opportunity to try L.A.’s hottest vegan restaurant, Nic’s on Beverly. Nic’s is a fairly new eatery pioneered by Stephan Bombet and Nic Adler, the man who first opened Monty’s Good Burger and featured his arsenal at Coachella Music and Arts festival in Palm Springs.

Upon entering the establishment, a modern indoor dining area accented with a bar in blues and a patio can be found. The Hollywood heat is cooled by a gaping tree, sprinkled with lights, that shades most of the courtyard. With the smiles of the staff urging its patrons on, picking a seat has never felt more welcoming.

Start your afternoon right with handcrafted cocktails, a signature frozé or a Bloody Mary (for you spice lovers). Vegan waffles, tofu eggs benedict, and falafel burgers are just the start of Nic’s madness. The falafel burger particularly has meat-eaters covered and gets health nuts just a little more nutty. What means the most is the craftsmanship of each dish whether it be the four-step process fries or an in-house jelly. Farm-to-fork is deemed an understatement and perhaps the most overlooked dish would be the summertime peach salad which leaves your pallet refreshed with aromatic tomatoes.

At the end of the day, a foodie trying this establishment won’t care whether they are eating meat or not – the flavor says it all. The fresh gem can be found at 8265 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048, and their Instagram here.

Petersen Automotive Museum

Everyone else uses transporters, but not Petersen founding chairman Bruce Meyer. Watch as Bruce and friends take to the streets of Beverly Hills to personally deliver some of his winningest cars to the Petersen Automotive Museum ahead of the opening of “Winning Numbers: The First, The Fastest, The Famous.”

On Saturday, February 23, 2019, the Petersen Automotive Museum opened its newest exhibit featuring 10 groundbreaking race cars, each with a unique story of triumph and victory. Titled “Winning Numbers: The First, The Fastest, The Famous,” the exhibit is comprised of Le Mans winners, land speed record setters, dragsters and road racers from the personal garage of Petersen Founding Chairman Bruce Meyer.

Key vehicles on display include the winningest Ferrari road racer of all time, the 1957 Ferrari 625/250 Testa Rossa, which claimed first prize in more than half of the 50 competitions in which it was raced; the first production 1962 Shelby Cobra, CSX2001; the 1962 Greer Black Prudhomme, which was raced by drag racing legend Don Prudhomme who won 237 of the 241 races in which he piloted the car; the renowned 1952 So-Cal Speed Shop Belly Tank Racer, which was fashioned from a P-38 Lightning fighter belly tank from World War II by hot rod racing icon Alex Xydias; the 1979 Kremer Porsche 935 K3 that took first place overall at Le Mans; and the 1929 Ford “747” Bonneville Racer that Meyer ran 204 mph at Bonneville Salt Flats.

“Affectionately called ‘the car guy’s car guy,’ Bruce Meyer epitomizes true automotive passion,” said Petersen Automotive Museum Executive Director Terry L. Karges. “The charisma with which Bruce shares his passion is what sets him apart. ‘Winning Numbers’ reflects his discerning tastes as a collector and motorsports enthusiast, and we’re proud to share his fervor for the hobby with the community.”

The exhibit’s public opening was preceded by an evening reception and media preview on February 22, 2019. Guests of the exclusive event were treated to passed appetizers by the Petersen’s exclusive catering partner Drago, a full cocktail bar and a Fireside Chat discussion between Meyer and Karges.

O’Gara Coach Beverly Hills Hosts Sunset GT “Porsche Takeover” Edition

On Sunday morning, high-end car dealership O’Gara Coach Beverly Hills hosted its first Sunset Granturismo of 2019, bringing LA’s car community together to enjoy a morning of cars and coffee at Sunset Plaza. To kick-off the new year with a twist, O’Gara hosted a “Porsche Takeover Edition”, spotlighting four Vintage 90’s Porsche cars among others alongside classics from the O’Gara Coach family including Aston Martin, Bentley, Lamborghini, McLaren and Rolls-Royce. In addition, car aficionados had the chance to view an original Lancia Stratos from the swinging 1960s.

In celebration of the first Sunset GT of the year, car lovers were given the opportunity to mingle while admiring the incredible line-up of 201 luxury cars, including 85 Porsche, 35 Ferrari, 30 Lamborghini in an extravagant color palette, 25 McLaren including the 720S, 10 Roll-Royce, 8 Aston Martin, 7 Bentley and 1 Lancia Stratos.

Upon arrival, car enthusiasts were guided through 4 rows of hypercars and rare classics including the 1969 Porsche 911S and three 1997 993S, two Carrera GT’s and two 918 Spyder hypercars, and a Ferrari GTC Lusso and 488 GTB. Driving in, guests were mesmerized with quite the visual spectacle beginning with the Porsche GT, Cayman and Boxter, onto the Porsche and Lamborghini hypercars, over to  Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Aston Martin for the more classic fans, and ending with a rainbow of Vintage 911s and McLaren’s.

Sunset GT welcomed over 500 spectators and special appearances from musicians Macklemore and Laura Wilde, who arrived at the event with her Porsche Cayenne and hosted a live stream takeover on the O’Gara Coach and Sunset GT Instagram account.

Happy Lunar New Year from Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Beverly Hills hosted the Fourth Annual Lunar New Year: Year of the Pig Celebration presented by The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, Asian Business Connection Committee at the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and McLaren Beverly Hills Showroom. The event featured traditional Lunar New Year entertainment including an assortment of epicurean delights from many of the Asian and Indian cultures, extravagant performances, and spectacular surprises that added the Beverly Hills touch.

In celebration of this remarkable initiative, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars unveiled three specially-commissioned Year of the Pig Rolls-Royces commissions exclusively for their guests, including Ghost, Wraith and Dawn. The three special edition cars were on display in Lunar New Year colors including Aurum, Mugello Red, and Diamond Black. Each car featured a Rolls-Royce Year of the Pig nameplate and a hand-stitched ‘Lunar New Year’ embroidery on the headrest in Mugello Red. The vehicles are now exclusively available through Rolls-Royce Beverly Hills.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group welcome the Lunar New Year, honoring Asian heritage with luxurious immersive moments. In celebration of the holiday, which officially starts on February 5, 2019, Mandarin Oriental properties will offer a stellar lineup of packages and offerings including a chance to experience ‘Rolls-Royce Cullinan in Red,’ the most luxurious SUV ever.

Mandarin Oriental’s properties in Boston, Miami and Washington, D.C. will ring in the Lunar New Year with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, offering guests special access to the brand’s first-ever SUV, the ultra-luxury Cullinan. The cars will make a special appearance at each property from February 4 to 8, and will be a fortuitous red, selected for its symbolization of good luck and happiness in the Chinese culture. A Rolls-Royce White Glove Product Specialist will be onsite for drives and chauffeured rides. Guests at the Mandarin Oriental will also have the opportunity to win a week-long first-hand experience with a Rolls-Royce motor car in select U.S. luxury destinations.

To celebrate, Rolls-Royce has commissioned three special Bespoke Cullinan. Guests in Washington D.C. and Miami will have a chance to experience a splendid Cullinan in Magma Red exterior with a Tan interior, while visitors in Boston will have a chance to take a very special journey in Cullinan in Scala Red exterior and Black and Mugello Red interior. All three vehicles are hand-crafted in Goodwood, England, the Home of Rolls-Royce.
