Queen’s Greatest Hits

Queen’s cornerstone “Greatest Hits” album is, once again, in the Top 10 of Billboard’s 200.

Released in 1981, the album has been on the charts for 412 weeks, finally landing at No. 8, up from its previous spot at No. 36. It previously peaked at No. 11 in 1992, the year following front man Freddie Mercury’s untimely death.

The now nine-time platinum album is also No. 1 on Billboard’s Vinyl Albums Chart with the second-largest sales week of 2020 for any vinyl release.

With monster hits from the iconic rock band like “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You,” “We Are The Champions,” “Fat Bottomed Girls,” “Another One Bites the Dust” and so many more, it’s no wonder the album has stood the test of time.

Queen recently teamed up with both Target and Walmart to release brand new vinyl exclusives. Both are two-disc LPs, 180 gram.

Those opting for the Target exclusive will be treated to ruby blend marble vinyl while those who purchase from Walmart will receive red and white vinyl. The biggest fans of Queen might even be found purchasing both.

The band also recently released a live album with American Idol alum Adam Lambert at the helm. The album is titled “Queen + Adam Lambert Live Around The World,” and it landed at No. 1 on the UK’s official albums chart.

It was the first time a Queen album topped a chart since 1995’s “Made in Heaven.”

Queen is no stranger to the top ten, as this is their ninth album to land there. It will join the soundtrack for “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Greatest Hits I, II & III: The Platinum Collection,” “Classic Queen,” “The Game,” “Jazz.” “News of the World,” “A Day at the Races” and “A Night at the Opera.”

Queen’s “Greatest Hits” is still the best-selling album of all-time in the UK.

Gorgon City – Burning

Gorgon City, a UK and Chicago-based DJ duo of Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson Scott, released a brand new video for their song “Burning,” which features EVAN GIIA.

The release of this video follows their recent drop of the Terrace Dub remixed version of the song.

You can see the video by clicking right here.

Shot in Wyoming and directed by Eric Maldin, two young women find love in Laramie. They share an attraction to each other, but they only show it in public with slight gestures, like pinky touches.

A heart made of flames finally represents burning love and desire, allowing the two to reconcile and embrace.

The Terrace Dub Remix is a rework of the song with more driving energy, hypnotizing filters, slow beautiful builds and solid sharp drops while still featuring EVAN GIIA’s vocals.

Gorgon City has amassed more than 1.4 billion global streams and 9 million singles sold throughout their career. They’ve also topped international radio station charts and landed the No. 1 spot on US Dance Radio.

Lee Brice Hits No. 1

Country star Lee Brice hit No. 1 on the Mediabase and Billboard charts Tuesday with his latest single “One Of Them Girls.”

This is Brice’s eighth No. 1 hit and his third in a row. It’s also his fastest climb to No. 1.

This news follows Brice’s announcement of his newest album “Hey World,” which will release Nov. 20.

Brice said the song was embraced by the fans from the beginning.

“It has flown,” Brice said. “We felt there was something special about it on the night we wrote it, and to see how it has resonated is such a blessing and humbling. We are over the moon.”

Brice is one of the most successful country artists currently on the scene with more than 2.2 billion streams. His previous solo single, “Rumor,” also hit No. 1 and was nominated for Single of the Year at the 55th Annual ACM Awards.

With gold and platinum singles and 11 consecutive RIAA certifications, Brice will look to continue his success with “Hey World.”

One Of Them Girls,” “I Hope You’re Happy Now” and the title track “Hey World” are already available to stream.

Lewis Capaldi – Before You Go

Lewis Capaldi‘s hit song “Before You Go” finally hit No. 1 Monday on Mediabase‘s Top 40 and Billboard‘s Pop Songs and All Format Radio Songs charts.

Its 36-week climb to the top of Mediabase’s Top 40 and 37-week climb to the top of Billboard’s Pop Songs chart are the longest of both respective lists. The previous record was a 31-week climb up the Billboard Pop Chart set by “Eastside,” the 2018 hit from Benny Blanco, Halsey and Khalid.

Capaldi also joins Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Bruno Mars as the only artists to reach No. 1 with each of their first two entries, as “Someone You Loved” reached No. 1 in Dec. 2019.

“Before You Go” was first released Nov. 2019 on the extended version of Capaldi’s album “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent.” Since then it has done nothing but grow and spread, even cracking a billion streams.

Capaldi said “Before You Go” is about his aunt who died of suicide, also calling it the most honest and personal song he has ever written.

“It’s about loss, regrets and the fear that we sometimes never understand what someone is going through despite our best want to be everything that person needs,” Capaldi said.

Capaldi picked up a GRAMMY nomination for his song “Someone You Loved” and performed “Before You Go” at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards where he was nominated for PUSH Best New Artist.

Instead of taking time to sit back and enjoy praise from outlets like Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Entertainment Weekly, the Glasgow-born singer-songwriter is now working on his second album.

Big Sean – Detroit 2

Big Sean is once again on top.

His brand new album “Detroit 2” is his third consecutive album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. It’s also his fifth consecutive album to debut at No. 1 on the rap chart and his fourth consecutive album to debut at No. 1 on the R&B/hip-hop chart.

“Detroit 2” features artists like Nipsey Hussle, Lil Wayne, Ty Dolla $ign, Post Malone and Travis Scott. Big Sean premiered the music video for his song “Lithuania” Sept. 4 and performed “Harder Than My Demons” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Sept. 8.

Before the album’s release, he also released videos for songs like “Deep Reverance,” “Don Life,” “Body Language” and “Everything That’s Missing.”

“Detroit 2” garnered critical acclaim from outlets like Vulture, Rolling Stone, Billboard and Detroit Free Press.

“In the world of Detroit 2, there’s always an answer. It’s a place where every pain can be fixed, any heart can be mended, and all obstacles are surmountable,” Rolling Stone said.

Detroit Free Press said, “Shimmering, textured and often explosive, ‘Detroit 2’ finds the rapper born Sean Anderson in a confident creative space.”

Since signing with G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam,  Big Sean has become one of the most popular artists in the rap game, amassing more than 1.7 billion YouTube views on his songs.

5 Seconds of Summer Premiere of “YOUNGBLOOD” Video

Open up your YouTube app because the heartthrob boy band 5 Seconds of Summer just released their video for new song Youngblood.

The track has a relentless thumping rhythm where the members are shown to switch from a delicate verses to a booming chorus that will have you singing at the top of your lungs. Their new song is a mixture between pop and EDM–getting the best of both worlds.

Their new album is out now on Capitol Records. The video, directed by Frank Borin, was filmed in one of the most beautiful places in the world, Tokyo. Check out this masterpiece of a video right here.

Not only do the band members find Japan aesthetically pleasing, but it has a much deeper meaning to them spiritually:

“There are many wonderful, interesting, and captivating subcultures all over the world. In every corner of this earth there are groups of inventors, visionaries, thrill seekers, and boundary pushers…The Japanese Rockabilly culture is that of a renaissance and a beautiful flare of passion for everything old and new and that makes this particular subculture so interesting and amazing to us. We hope you enjoy this video. Thank you for allowing us to be explorative with the concepts we choose to visually express our songs to you. Thank you to everyone that brought this video to life,” says the band’s vocal artist and drummer, Ashton Irwin.

Along with Irwin, the video’s director, Borin, shares:

“About 10 years ago I was shooting in Tokyo and was walking through Yoyogi park when I came upon this huge group of Japanese rockabilly guys and girls. Every Sunday, they were dressed to the nines in full rockabilly gear, doing their hair out in public, taping up their decades old boots, and dancing the day away to 50’s music blasting on their boombox. Flash forward to 10 years later, 5SOS was releasing Youngblood and the band and I were collaborating on another video together. The band were really into the ideas of highlighting the rockabilly crew and we hung out with them for a couple days. They took us around Tokyo and gave us a peak into their world which really lent itself to the spirit of the song and ultimately became the video.”

You can order tickets for 5SOS’s Meet You There Tour here as they are on sale now at LiveNation.com. It will be a 25-city North American headline outing that launches August 27 in Toronto, ON. The full itinerary can be found here.

Already, Youngblood is recorded to have debuted as No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. What’s cooler is that 5SOS is now the only band in chart history to see its first three-length studio albums enter the chart at No. 1.
