ANTARA MOVIE OWNERS TO SELL RIGHTS VIA NFT

In a groundbreaking move, film distributors must pay the owners of the Antara Movie NFT to distribute the film in theatres and streaming channels

Arabian Camels today announced the launch of an ‘Antara Movie NFT,’ that will grant buyers up to 50 percent of the intellectual property rights to “Antara,” a $50 million dollar feature film. Antara is based on the life of Antarah Ibn Shaddad, an ancient Arabian knight and poet, famous for his adventurous life. Prospective film distributors would pay the owners of the Antara Movie NFT to distribute the movie in theatres and/or streaming channels, tying the Arabian Camel community into millions of dollars worth of value in the real world. The NFT drop is anticipated this December.

The Arabian Camels envision merging Movies and NFTs with DeFi, Gaming, and the Metaverse, with a focus on community, extracting value from the booming transmedia space, and sharing the value entertainment properties with the Arabian Camel community.

“While other NFT projects were busy manipulating their floor price and buying up their own NFTs, the founder of Arabian Camels, stayed low key, quietly working on building long-term quality. The result is game-changing tokenomics and strategies that enable the Arabian Camels to define a new era of the movie business,”  said Alexander Amartei, Producer of Antara, and inventor of Movie NFTs. “The Arabian Camels is the only NFT community that has managed to position itself uniquely between movies and NFTs. As a new pop culture brand, we are now ready to launch our movie strategy, gaming strategy, and token launch on major exchanges.”

Arabian Camels have also collaborated with Dominic Ryder, CEO of vEmpire, whose token has recently rocketed 1500 percent and reached a market cap of $100M. Dominic Ryder’s protocol is in the process of designing and creating the ANTARA Play-To-Earn game, which has already gotten the attention of very prominent VC firms. The multiplayer raiding game is expected to plant the Arabian Camels brand and the Antara IP firmly into the Metaverse, and add another layer of value for Arabian Camels holders. The game is set to bring fun and reliable income to thousands of players in developing countries and will run off a scholarship model. The Arabian Camels NFTs are now to be a commodity and have functionality within the game. In conjunction, they will also be launching their very own gaming token, the in-game currency that is set to be listed on major Cryptocurrency exchanges.

The production of the movie was meticulously put together with the help of professors of Arabic Literature from Oxford, Cambridge, Yale, and the School of Oriental and African studies, meaning it’s not another Marvel. It has a very rich, intelligent, and powerful historical appeal. It was originally set to be shot in NEOM, Saudi Arabia, but Abu Dhabi, as a modern tech hub, has also shown a keen willingness to accommodate the production, to be credited as the ones that helped to bring this epic story to the world. The production team is currently assessing which of the Middle Eastern regions can offer the best incentives and working conditions for the production.

The story of Antara is reminiscent of both Alexander the Great and Romeo and Juliet, of the Middle East. His story has been told repeatedly for the past 1,500 years. He was a black slave in ancient/pre-Islamic Arabia, who won his freedom and became a lofty knight. He rose to stardom in the 5th century, not only due to his character and prowess on the battlefield but also, his miraculous talent as a poet. His poetry was held in such high regard, that it was actually sewn in gold, and suspended on the Kaaba in Mecca before the days of Islam. To this day, if one studies Arabic Literature in Oxford or Cambridge, the poetry of Antara is still studied and revered.

Antara is a feature film directed by one of the most sought after Hollywood Directors, that covers the life and adventures of Antara Ibn Shaddad, a desert warrior from ancient pre Islamic Arabia. The film is the first big-budget film to be funded by an NFT, before its theatre and streaming debut, as well as the first NFT to facilitate this type of royalty sharing. As part of the ‘Antara IP’ a transmedia rollout, the film is a part of a franchise that includes 3 sequels, a crypto infused ‘Assassins Creed Styled’ multi-player game, a comic, and a strong brand with a long term merchandising and licensing strategy.

About Sing 2

This holiday season, the new chapter in Illumination’s smash animated franchise arrives with big dreams and spectacular hit songs as the ever-optimistic Buster Moon and his all-star cast of performers prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza yet …all in the glittering entertainment capital of the world. There’s just one hitch: They first have to persuade the world’s most reclusive rock star—played by global music icon Bono, in his animated film debut—to join them.

Buster (Oscar® winner Matthew McConaughey) has turned the New Moon Theater into a local hit, but Buster has his eyes on a bigger prize: Debuting a new show at the Crystal Tower Theater in glamorous Redshore City.

But with no connections, Buster and his cast—including harried mother Rosita (Oscar® winner Reese Witherspoon), rocker Ash (Scarlett Johansson), earnest Johnny (Taron Egerton), shy Meena (Tori Kelly) and, of course, provocateur Gunter (Nick Kroll)—have to sneak their way into the world-famous Crystal Entertainment offices, run by ruthless mogul Jimmy Crystal (Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale).

In a desperate attempt to get Mr. Crystal’s attention, Gunter spontaneously pitches an outrageous idea that Buster quickly runs with, promising that their new show will star rock legend Clay Calloway (Bono). Problem is, Buster has never met Clay, an artist who shut himself away from the world more than a decade ago after the loss of his wife. Even worse, Buster has failed to realize that Mr. Crystal is an egocentric gangster who would rather drop somebody off the roof of a building than be lied to.

As Gunter helps Buster dream up an out-of-this-world theatrical masterpiece, and the pressure (and sinister threats) from Mr. Crystal mount, Rosita’s leading role in the show gets ripped away and handed to Mr. Crystal’s spoiled daughter, Porsha, played by Grammy-nominated artist Halsey. Desperate to save the show, and his life, Buster embarks on a quest to find Clay and persuade him to return to the stage.

What begins as a dream of big-time success becomes an emotional reminder of the power of music to heal even the most broken heart.

Sing 2 is written and directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Garth Jennings and features additional new characters played by music superstar Pharrell Williams, Black Panther’s Letitia Wright and comedians Eric André and Chelsea Peretti. The film is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and by Janet Healy. Sing 2 combines dozens of hit songs from pop to rock, K-pop to Latin, and from artists including Billie Eilish, Drake, U2, The Weeknd, Prince, Taylor Swift, BTS, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello. With electrifying performances, breathtaking artistry and Illumination’s signature humor and heart, Sing 2 is sure to be the definitive feel-good cinematic event of the year.

VOD and DVD release of the feature-length film, Lady of Guadalupe from Director Pedro Brenner, Producer Robert Hymers and Pinnacle Entertainment on April 6. Following Galaxy Theaters’  December theatrical release across the U.S. and Mexico, Nova Vento Entertainment will be re-releasing the film into theaters across the U.S. beginning in April. Presented in both English and Spanish, the film depicts the revered religious and cultural icons (the Virgin of Guadalupe and Juan Diego) and is the first modern production of Juan Diego’s story. It will be available on all major cable and VOD platforms in the US and Canada and on DVD on April 13.

Based on true events, Lady of Guadalupe is a moving religious discovery juxtaposing folklore and present day. Historically significant recreations are used to illustrate the origin of her prevalent and powerful symbolism of Mexican identity and faith. When a young and ambitious reporter (Guillermo Iván) is assigned an article on faith, he finds himself enmeshed in the legend of Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Skeptical of miracles and the importance of modern-day Christianity, the reporter’s investigation takes him from cynic to true believer as his personal limits are tested.

ISCHIA FILM FESTIVAL 2018

The XVI edition of the Campania island festival opens with Gabriele Salvatores and his diptych of the invisible boy. But it will only be the beginning.

Oscar winner Gabriele Salvatores will open the XVI Ischia Film Festival. A great start for the event that sees a very rich program unravel from June 30th to July 7th. The Mediterranean director is the Italian author who has most explored the genres of cinematography, and will tell the audience of Ischia his constant desire to change. He will do this by presenting The Invisible Boy and The Invisible Boy – Second Generation, his diptych dedicated to the adventures of a young superhero.

Diversity, courage, even sound unconsciousness. These are some of the key words that characterize this Ischia Film Festival 2018, built magnificently by the artistic directors Michelangelo Messina and Boris Sollazzo and that will develop through the one hundred and thirteen selected films, including thirty-three previews, including eight world titles. Important numbers, as are the thirty countries that these works represent, from Burkina Faso to the Dominican Republic, passing through Iran, Turkey and Italy. Many of these works will compete for the prizes of the five official competitions: feature films, short films, documentaries, Location Negata and Scenari Campani, the latter promoted to a competitive section thanks to the support of BPER Banca. Others will be the Best Of this year and this edition, and will be accompanied by directors and actors who have made this year of Italian cinema very special. The list of guests who will parade on the red carpet of the Aragonese Castle is very long. Beyond Salvatores, Alessandro Aronadio and Edoardo Leo, director and interpreter of Io c’è, are expected for the opening night of 30 June. Leonardo Di Costanzo, who with his L’intrusa is a fresh winner of the Golden Globe. Anna Valle, who will accompany the imperfect age. And then Manetti Bros, Fabio De Luigi, Roberta Torre, Guglielmo Poggi, Renato Carpentieri, Fabrizio Gifuni, Claudia Gerini, Giulia Michelini, Vinicio Marchioni, Nicola Giuliano, Alessandro Rak, Federico Buffa, Sandra Milo, Carlo Delle Piane, Caterina Murino, Caterina Shulha, Lillo Petrollo, The Jackal, Laura Bispuri, Massimiliano Gallo, Nicola Nocella, Bruno Oliviero, Berardo Carboni, Matilda De Angelis, Concita De Gregorio, Antonello Piroso, Fabio De Caro, Gigione, Milena Mancini, Daniele Vicari, Nicola Guaglianone, Pippo Mezzapesa, Yvonne Sciò, Michela Andreozzi, Massimiliano Vado, Giancarlo Fontana, Giuseppe G. Stasi.
And then great authors who will receive the right tribute. Gabriele Muccino, Carlo Verdone, Peter Greenaway and, for his seventy years of career, Carlo Delle Piane, extraordinary actor in our history of cinema.

They will all meet at the Terrace which will host the aperitifs with the stars, before the evening’s program on the five screens of the festival. Programming enriched with two great Italian premieres. On July 1st I, God and Bin Laden, crazy comedy with Nicolas Cage directed by Larry Charles, the man behind Borat (in Italian cinemas from July 27th distributed by Koch Media). July 4th will be the turn of Gringo, who will arrive in Italy with the title Cannabis: budding scammers (Vision Distribution), black comedy with Charlize Theron. Speaking of charm and talent, there is plenty of it in Ocean’s 8, scheduled for July 3 for the second Italian screening. And this year there will be the international convention on Cineturismo, Friday 6 July, in the presence of the Director-General Cinema Nicola Borrelli. An appointment now traditional, strongly desired by the founder of the festival Michelangelo Messina, to take stock of a sector that is now a central reality in our cinema system.

As already stated, Oscar winner Gabriele Salvatores will open the XVI Ischia Film Festival. The director of the Mediterranean will present The Invisible Boy and The Invisible Boy – Second Generation, his diptych dedicated to the adventures of a young superhero. In perfect contemporaneity, at 8:45 pm, Alessandro Aronadio will tell the public the genesis of Io c’è, a mystical and earthly comedy, a return to Ischia for the winner of the best director award last year. The program of the Cathedral of the Assumption is completed with the doc in competition Eu Sunt Hercules, a curious trip to the most popular spa resort in Romania. Also at 8:45 pm, Leonardo Di Costanzo will present at La casa del sole The intruder, fresh winner of the Golden Globe for best film. Following the Israeli doc in competition The Island, set in the French hospital in East Jerusalem St. Louis. At the Bourbon Prison we will find Anna Valle who will introduce the film that opens the feature film competition, L’imperfetta age, followed by Revenir, a story of migrants that inaugurates the Location Negata section.

Sick To Death!

This first of its kind film shows the filmmaker’s personal struggle with thyroid disease and the medical confusion and negligence that surrounds it.

The award-winning documentary Sick to Death! exposes the medical incompetence surrounding the treatment of one of America’s most common illnesses as experienced by New Orleans filmmaker Maggie Hadleigh-West, and debuted online January 18, 2018.

Sick to Death! has received a Guggenheim Award and three Impact Doc Awards prior to the world premiere sold out screenings at the 2017 New Orleans Film Festival.

“Thyroid disease is THE MOST misdiagnosed disease in American medicine, ” said New Orleans physician Dr. Charles Mary, II in Sick to Death!

“I cried when I realized I should have been diagnosed as a child, but when I realized that millions of people were sick, undiagnosed or misdiagnosed despite medical information being available, I was angry and change became my mission.” said Hadleigh-West. “The purpose of the film is to expose the problem through many people’s stories, experts, historians and statistical data.”

In Sick to Death! Hadleigh-West unflinchingly exposes her 30-year struggle to regain her health. Sick to Death! is both a call-to-action and a quirky, raw film which examines the maze most patients face in seeking treatment in today’s disturbing medical reality. This film uses thyroid disease as a metaphor for all illnesses and provides the viewer a roadmap for how to negotiate their individual health challenges.

Sick to Death! is available on VIMEO

About Maggie Hadleigh-West:

As early as 1991, Maggie Hadleigh-West created the first film on the sexual harassment of women in public, War Zone (1991/1998). Her film Player Hating (2011) was praised by SLANT magazine as “one of the more intimate and revealing looks at American (housing) projects ever made.” Sick to Death! is the first feature length documentary on thyroid disease and complications that surround it.

Hadleigh-West is a 2017 Impact Doc Awards winner, a 2013 Guggenheim Fellow Award Winner, 2010 Indie Fest: Audience Impact Merit Award Winner, 2010 Accolade Merit Award Winner, 2009, 2006, and 2005 Alcyon Foundation Fellow, a 2004 New York State Council on the Arts Fellow, 2001 University of Louisville Distinguished Professor Nominee, 2000 Rockefeller Fellow Nominee and a 1998 Berlin Film Festival Caligari Nominee. Over the course of her career, Maggie Hadleigh-West has been internationally recognized as an activist, independent filmmaker, public speaker and the founder of YoMaggie Productions, LLC. Sick to Death! Is her 5th film. Her fourth film, and second feature documentary Player Hating: A Love Story follows the life of hip-hop artist Half-a-Mill as he struggles to escape ghetto obscurity for fame. Her well known feature length documentary, War Zone, covers the public harassment of women, turning the lens of her camera on her harassers.
