Danny A. Abeckaser Next To Be Seen In Lansky

ACTOR PROFILE: DANNY A. ABECKASER: NEXT TO BE SEEN IN LANSKY, THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED SUMMER CRIME FEATURE OUT JUNE 25, 2021

You may recognize him from The Irishman, Mob Town or The Iceman, even Holy Rollers. NOW, see him in LANSKY.

The much buzzed about film, starring Harvey Keitel, Sam Worthington, Danny A. Abeckaser, David James Elliott, Minka Kelly, David Cade, John Magaro, AnnaSophia Robb, among others, hits theatres and digital streaming channels on June 25, 2021. LANSKY, by writer/director Eytan Rockaway, is set to be the crime-drama for summer 2021.

Rockaway’s script was inspired by actual conversations that took place between Eytan’s father, Rob Rockaway and gangster Meyer Lansky before his death. Danny departs his often-seen mobster and nightlife character roles for the other side of the law, playing an FBI agent.

Film Synopsis: David Stone (Sam Worthington), a renowned but down-on-his-luck writer, has the opportunity of a lifetime when he receives a surprise call from Meyer Lansky (Academy Award nominee Harvey Keitel). For decades, authorities have been trying to locate Lansky’s alleged nine-figure fortune and this is their last chance to capture the aging gangster before he dies. With the FBI close behind, (Abeckaser as one of the lead FBI Agents), the Godfather of organized crime reveals the untold truth about his life as the notorious boss of Murder Inc. and the National Crime Syndicate.

Abeckaser, last seen in The Irishman, is expected to show us new range as an actor in the feature, alongside Worthington and longtime friend Keitel, who starred in his directorial debut, First We Take Brooklyn (2018). Abeckaser’s next film, I LOVE US, is a feature romantic drama that he stars in and directs, due out in September 2021, further showcasing his depth in the emotional film. LANSKY co-star David James Elliott also appears in the film.

LANSKY was directed and written by Eytan Rockaway, produced by Jeff Hoffman, Robert Ogden Barnum, Lee Broda, and Eric Binns, with cinematography by Peter Flinckenberg, editing by Steven Rosenblum and Martin Hunter, and original music by Max Aruj.

Producer Jeff Hoffman says “All of the performances are incredible – Keitel is masterful and penetrating, Worthington is gritty and determined, and Magaro was the perfect choice to play the younger Lansky/Keitel. Abeckaser brings dynamic presence in his role as an FBI agent. Rockaway does a sensational job telling this remarkable story portraying the complex personality of an historically important gangster known as the Mob’s Accountant.

Danny A. Abeckaser (“Danny A”) is an Israeli born and Brooklyn raised actor, director, and producer. Danny can most recently be seen in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman alongside Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, as well as his own directed film Mob Town alongside Jamie-Lynn Sigler, David Arquette and Jennifer Esposito, both currently on digital streaming.

Under 2B Films production and distribution company, Abeckaser has directed four films to date since his directorial debut in 2018 and produced over 13 films including several documentaries. Selective when it comes to the projects he works on, Abeckaser’s first major foray into cinema was 2010’s Sundance favorite Holy Rollers directed by Kevin Asch, where Danny stars alongside Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Bartha, also a producer on the movie. Following the film’s success, Danny went on to land one of his better-known roles as Dino Lapron in The Iceman, appearing alongside Ray Liotta, Winona Ryder, Chris Evans, and James Franco. To date, he regards the part as one of his favorite and most challenging roles. Abeckaser continued momentum completing a longtime project writing and co-producing the film Club Life, which was loosely based on his life as a New York nightclub power player. Danny also had small roles in The Wolf of Wall Street, HBO’s Vinyl, and many other notable film projects, before his first leading role in The Stand Up Guy. Other films produced and released from 2B Films include The Last Shaman, First We Take Brooklyn, Blackjack: The Jackie Ryan Story (December 2020), The Curse of Sleeping Beauty, Davi’s Way and The Experimenter.

VOD and DVD release of the feature-length film, Lady of Guadalupe from Director Pedro Brenner, Producer Robert Hymers and Pinnacle Entertainment on April 6. Following Galaxy Theaters’  December theatrical release across the U.S. and Mexico, Nova Vento Entertainment will be re-releasing the film into theaters across the U.S. beginning in April. Presented in both English and Spanish, the film depicts the revered religious and cultural icons (the Virgin of Guadalupe and Juan Diego) and is the first modern production of Juan Diego’s story. It will be available on all major cable and VOD platforms in the US and Canada and on DVD on April 13. 

Based on true events, Lady of Guadalupe is a moving religious discovery juxtaposing folklore and present day. Historically significant recreations are used to illustrate the origin of her prevalent and powerful symbolism of Mexican identity and faith. When a young and ambitious reporter (Guillermo Iván) is assigned an article on faith, he finds himself enmeshed in the legend of Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Skeptical of miracles and the importance of modern-day Christianity, the reporter’s investigation takes him from cynic to true believer as his personal limits are tested.

The Fader – Digital FORT 2.0 × Dolby

Earlier this week, The FADER announced its line-up for their Digital FORT 2.0, with over 30 + exclusive performances from both acclaimed and emerging artists in support of several charities, including Trap Heals, the NAACP, For The Gworls, Arts & Parts, Gideon’s Army United and more.

In addition to the set times, today the FADER is excited to announce their new partnership with Dolby.  

New to Digital FORT is a short film featuring acclaimed jazz artist and producer Terrace Martin as Dolby and The FADER explore the places, the process, and the people that inspire his creative hustle. The film kicks off the “Inspired to Inspire” Artist Spotlight Talent Search.  Additionally, The FADER, in collaboration with Dolby, will host a social media talent search, encouraging artists to create and submit a performance using the free Dolby On recording app for a chance to win an Artist Spotlight interview and video premiere on The FADER, written by our award winning editorial team.  

The submission contest aims to champion creatives to use their voice by giving them a once-in-a-career opportunity to align with some of the biggest names in music. All entries must be of original material up to five minutes in length and entered through the submission form HERE. Submissions must be made using Dolby On, a free app, available HERE. Entrants are also encouraged to post their submissions to social media using the hashtag #DolbyInspiredToInspire. Each year, Austin’s SXSW draws hundreds of thousands of visitors from across the globe – and many share the same goal: Score a pass to get into the invite only FADER FORT. Due to the spread of the worldwide pandemic, COVID-19, Austin cancelled SXSW and all other live music events followed suit. Devastated by the festival’s cancellation along with the nation on lockdown, globally renowned brand, The FADER, along with 100 musicians came together to bring FADER FORT to their fans living room with a one-time digital broadcast event. The film debuted for digital streaming on Amazon and iTunes, along with VOD after the theatrical run was abandoned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many other films, they adjusted their roll out to digital. It released across digital and VOD platforms on April 10th, starring Alexandra Daddario, Maddie Hasson, and Johnny Knoxville, and with Tanner Beard as the sheriff.
 
Tanner has acted in a slew of notable projects, such as Robert Rodriguez’ From Dusk Till Dawn The Series (action horror), Barracuda (thriller), Deported, Hidden In The Woods (horror), Thunder Broke the Heavens, Legend of Hell’s Gate, 6 Bullets To Hell (retro grindhouse western) and many more. He is also founder and president of Mammoth Film Festival.

In We Summon The Darkness, the heavy-metal horror thriller which premiered earlier this year at Screamfest Horror Film Festival in Hollywood, Tanner Beard plays the sheriff, a memorable role for Beard.

Film Synopsis: 

On the way to a heavy metal concert, Alexis (Alexandra Daddario) and two girlfriends hear a news report of a local murder believed to be tied to a series of satanic killings. After the show, the girls invite three guys to join them at the estate owned by Alexis’s father, a fire-and-brimstone preacher (Johnny Knoxville). What starts as a party suddenly turns dark and deadly in this devilishly entertaining thriller.

Working in the industry as an actor, writer, director and producer, Tanner Beard created Silver Sail Entertainment, an all media based production company during the industry strike in 2008 as a source to create professional media content. Tanner has since produced projects including: a travel show, award winning short films, award winning documentaries, commercials, music videos, two seasons of a web-based television series and feature films such as the critically acclaimed ‘HELLION’ starring Aaron Paul and Juliette Lewis, ‘THE LEGEND OF HELL’S GATE’, starring Eric Balfour, Henry Thomas, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Summer Glau, Kevin Alejandro and Lou Taylor Pucci and others.

Tanner himself has recently completed Executive Producing four films under icon Terrance Malick and producer Sarah Green, starring talent such as Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender and Natalie Portman. One of which is a documentary, ‘VOYAGE OF TIME’, produced alongside Brad Pitt, who also narrates the film. As a producer, he has had films and documentaries in competition at top festivals around the world including Sundance, Berlin, Cannes, Venice, SXSW and Toronto, as well as his own Mammoth Film Festival.

Along with RIPTIDE, Tanner’s other upcoming projects are an animated feature entitled ‘FRIDGEPORT’ he co-created with Paul Khoury and produced alongside Liam Hemsworth and Ashley Greene, and his latest passion project; a new Christmas comedy ‘JUST BE CLAUS’, which Beard co-wrote with director Tim Skousen and is producing with Jeff Kalligheri and Jared Hess of “Napoleon Dynamite”.
