The New Regime, the innovative solo project of acclaimed songwriter/multi-instrumentalist and Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame member Ilan Rubin, shares two live videos off the album HEART MIND BODY & SOUL (DELUXE EDITION) which was released this past fall by The Orchard. “Turning A Blind Eye” and “Feel No Pain,” both directed by Matt Thompson, are both available now via YouTube. More videos in this series will be made available later this year.
“Turning A Blind Eye” and “Feel No Pain” showcase the more aggressive side of Heart Mind Body & Soul” says Rubin adding, “both songs have an edge rooted in discontentment with riffs that were always fun to play live. I’m proud of the combination of heaviness and melody with harmony.”
The youngest-ever living artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Ilan Rubin is one of modern rock’s most in-demand musicians thanks to his longtime role as drummer in both Nine Inch Nails and Angels & Airwaves. Rubin began his tenure with Nine Inch Nails in 2009 and soon proved an invaluable member of the band, serving as drummer and multi-instrumentalist on multiple tours and studio recordings through the past decade. As if that weren’t enough, in 2011 the San Diego native joined forces with Angels & Airwaves, collaborating with founder Tom DeLonge as co-writer, drummer, and multi-instrumentalist. Despite his busy schedule, Rubin somehow found time to continue his own extraordinary project, recording as The New Regime in the limited space between recording sessions and tours supporting Muse, The Killers, Alice In Chains, and The Used, to name but a few.
The New Regime’s third full-length and new LP, HEART MIND BODY & SOUL was recorded in two epic sessions at El Paso, TX’s world-famous Sonic Ranch, with all songs entirely written and performed by Rubin. Both sessions were co-produced, engineered, and mixed by Rubin’s brother (and manager) Aaron Rubin. Highlights include such wildly anthemic tracks as “It’s Gonna Be OK,” “Turning A Blind Eye,” “A Way To Feel Again,” and the euphoric title track.

Before his position at the Fairfield Conference & Visitors Bureau, Patel worked as the General Manager of the Hawthorn Inn & Suites in Napa, CA and also the General Manager and managing partner of the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in Fairfield, CA.
Patel’s ambition for hospitality traces back to his childhood as his family was involved in the hotel business and still, as of today, continues to own and operate hotels all over the country.
As for his other involvements, Patel was on the formation committee for the original tourism business improvement district (TBID) originally formed under the 1989 Act in 2003, creating the Fairfield Conference & Visitors Bureau with a 2% assessment.
For his undergraduate years, Patel earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an option in Finance and minor in Economics (B.S.). Furthering his education, he later received his Master’s in BA at Summa Cum Laude.
During school, Patel became a life member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity where he held positions such as the Secretary, Treasurer, and President.
With all of this accomplished, Patel maintained his his commitment to his organization and soon served for the Alumni Corporation Board President each year.
Patel’s leadership involvement continues as he is involved with various non-profit organizations such as the Governmental Affairs Committee (Calif. Hotel & Lodging), Chairman of the Board of Directors (Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce), Treasurer (Fairfield Conference & Visitors Bureau), and Treasurer (Central Valley Tourism Association).
Patel is an outstanding individual with a high professional and experienced background. He possesses a career and volunteer history that exemplifies his ability to multitask and prioritize. His numerous leadership positions prove nothing but greatness and absolute devotion to what drives him. With his experiences and accomplishments, it is to no surprise of how an inspiring person he is today.
Here is the most damaging boss behavior: A manager who has mood swings.
A recent study from University of Exeter found that leaders who exhibited “Jekyll and Hyde” behavior (switching between friendly and kind to volatile and critical) created the highest level of disengagement among employees.
“You might think that a boss who was sometimes friendly and magnanimous with his staff would earn some brownie points that would help ease hurt feelings when he later lost his temper,” says leadership coach Jack Skeen, who is the co-author (along with Greg Miller and Aaron Hill) of a new professional development book, The Circle Blueprint. “However, it’s just the opposite. Instead, employees begin to view their boss as unpredictable. Since they never know which boss they are going to encounter (the nice guy or the grouchy guy), they are constantly walking on eggshells and afraid to be themselves or voice their ideas.”
However, Skeen assures managers that they don’t have to be ‘one-note’ happy managers all the time, either. “Employees understand that their bosses are human and that they have bad days,” says the Fortune 500 coach, “But you can be disappointed or displeased with your staff without losing control and attacking your employees on a personal level.”
To help leaders grow into their full potential, Skeen has co-created a self-assessment tool to help leaders assess themselves in key areas, including their power, purpose, humility and independence. This assessment is available for free here, to anyone who has purchased The Circle Blueprint. “Until leaders are aware of how they are impacting the people around them, specifically their employees, they are going to continue hitting a professional plateau.”

We all love Sharon Osbourne for her charming, cheeky and opinionated personality, but guess what?! She’s also an experienced house flipper! Sharon has flipped dozens of homes – big and small – and made millions selling to celebrities. Premiering Friday, October 6th at 10pm ET/PT, viewers will see an entirely new side of the television host and media personality on an original special, “Sharon Flipping Osbourne.”
On the one-hour special, Sharon makes a deal with a couple in Los Angeles who were looking to sell their home but had no idea who would be knocking on their door to help! She offers to put her own money into the mix to update the house, but this means she’s in charge: from hiring the contractors, decorating with décor from her own warehouse to working with her favorite realtor. In the end, if they get an offer that works, she splits the profits with the seller…it’s flippin’ awesome!
“What most people don’t know about me is that I flip houses, and I’m damn good at it,” comments Osbourne, who also serves as an Executive Producer along with her son, Jack Osbourne. “Most people don’t know how to get their max price, but I do because I’m Sharon F$&:@ing Osbourne.”
“Sharon Flipping Osbourne” is produced by Osbourne Media and T Group Productions and Executive Produced by Sharon Osbourne, Jack Osbourne, Peter Glowski, Jenny Daly and Rob Lobl. Executive Producers for WE tv are Lauren Gellert and Angela Molloy.
