From the mid-70’s to the mid-80’s, Daryl and John scored six #1 singles, including Rich Girl, Kiss on My List, Private Eyes, I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do) , Maneater and Out of Touch from six multi-platinum albums Bigger Than Both of Us, Voices, Private Eyes, H2O, Rock in Soul, Part 1 and Big Bam Boom. Sneak Peak Episode of “That’s My Jam”

IT’S GAME TIME ON NBC AS JIMMY FALLON INVITES ‘THE VOICE’ COACHES TO PARTICIPATE IN A SNEAK EPISODE OF ‘THAT’S MY JAM’ 

Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, “That’s My Jam” is an hour long music and comedy variety game show that draws inspiration from the most popular “Tonight Show” games. Each episode features two teams of two celebrities competing for a charity of their choice in a series of music, dance, and trivia-based games and musical performances. Kicking off the show on a high (musical) note, “The Voice” Season 21 coaches – Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend – will appear in a sneak episode of the show on Monday, Nov. 29 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, bringing their A-game on behalf of their chosen charities. 

Signature games to be played include “Launch the Mic,” “Air Guitar,” “Don’t Drop the Beat,” “Perfect Mash-Up,” “Wheel of Impossible Karaoke,” “Slay It, Don’t Spray It” and many more.   

Following the Nov. 29 telecast, the season will premiere on Monday, January 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

I ❤️ Beirut

Mika announced Wednesday that his “I ❤️ Beirut” concert, which was live-streamed Sept. 19 on his YouTube channel, raised more than €1 million for the people of Lebanon.

An explosion at a Beirut warehouse on Aug. 4 killed more than 200 and injured more than 5,000.

Ticket sales, sponsors and public donations all contributed to the large sum that will be split between the Lebanese Red Cross and Save the Children.

Tickets were purchased in 120 different countries via Ticketmaster, the most in the ticketing giant’s history. Donations also poured in from 48 different countries via a GoFundMe page.

The show featured megastars like Salma Hayek, Danna Paola, Rufus Wainwright, Kylie, Mashrou Leila, Louane, Etel Adnan, Fanny Ardant and Laura Pausini. It has also picked up interest from major television stations across the world.

Mika joined Georges Kettaneh, the secretary general of the Lebanese Red Cross, and Kevin Watkins, CEO of Save the Children UK, on a video call Wednesday to make the announcement. He thanked everyone who helped the fundraiser cross the €1 million mark.

“I also wanted to say how amazing this statement of solidarity for the situation in Beirut has been, with tickets for the stream selling to over 120 different countries around the world,” Mika said. “This has been a project that was born out of and made possible by love, and a huge amount of collaboration with friends and many new friends made in the process.”

The certified gold and platinum artist was born in Beirut and is now celebrated around the world.

Kettaneh also thanked donors, saying the Lebanese Red Cross would continue to use the funds to support the people of Beirut.

“The people of Beirut face a long road to recovery, with this generosity and the continued support we have received from around the globe, we can continue to stand alongside them for as long we are needed,” Kettaneh said.

Watkins also chimed in to say Save the Children would work to help children and families affected by the explosion.

“All donations will be going toward our emergency response efforts in Lebanon, which include weather proofing damaged homes, supporting vulnerable and displaced families with food and cash grants, and providing ongoing psychological support for children and families,” Watkins said.

K-POP CONTENT MEDIA APP

theQoos Inc. has launched a data-based media service app platform that targets English reading K-Pop fans. Through aggregating K-Pop content, theQoos attempts to lock-in users and create communities among K-Pop fans. theQoos Inc. was established in February 2019 with a Seoul office established in April. The venture founders are composed of experienced members from Kakao, Samsung Electronics and, YG Entertainment USA. An investment by SK Group, South Korea’s third largest conglomerate, was completed earlier this year.

2019 has been yet another record-breaking year for K-Pop with BLACKPINK signing to Interscope/Universal Records and being the first K-Pop girl-group to perform at Coachella. BTS became the first Korean act to perform on “Saturday Night Live” and followed up with performances on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” “Good Morning America” and “The Voice.” A new study by Hyundai Research Institute found that the boy band is worth more than $3.6 billion yearly to Korea’s economy. Both acts contributed to the “Hallyu” (or Korean wave) fanbase which is estimated to grow to 100 million fans by 2020 and leading the way for other acts globally such as Monsta X and NCT. In the first half of 2019, there were over 50 concerts taking place in North America and as STYLE put it, “K-Pop is now more popular and profitable in the West than ever before.”

With the increased interest in K-Pop globally, theQoos set out to build a roadway for content by gathering as many select English-written sources of K-Pop into one feed. The idea is that fans who have an enthusiastic passion for K-Pop are called “theQoos” and want to consume all of the content that exists out there without having to search or open multiple applications. These content sources include K-Pop news sites, reputable global news sites that cover K-Pop, artists’ official social media, and YouTube but also fan-made content such as reaction videos, and fancam footage. Since many K-Pop fans usually find their news through K-Pop sites, theQoos also gathers in-depth coverage from respected major media outlets so users can see content they might not normally come across. theQoos also gathers album and concert reviews from various lesser known sites/blogs that deserve to be read as well as fan-made content that are meant to entertain and be enjoyed.

In 2018 BTS was the most tweeted about account worldwide and a tweet featuring BTS member J-Hope participating in the #InMyFeelingsChallenge was the Most Liked Tweet worldwide last year with 1.8 million Likes. Since K-Pop thrives on Twitter, we also gather many official and non-official Twitter accounts into our feed.

Users are able to “Save,” “Like,” and “Share” content but also organize the feed based on their favorite artist(s). Artist pages also include discography and links to music videos. theQoos promises this release to be their minimal viable product and has already planned for many features including in-app commenting and a community section so that Users can have “real interaction”.

In just three days, “you were good to me” amassed more than one million Spotify streams and is currently featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday, It’s A Hit and Pop Rising playlists. brent was written and recorded by Zucker and Cutler in a remote cabin in upstate Connecticut last December. When Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler joined forces for “you were good to me,” it was much more than two rising stars combining their natural-born talents; it was two friends sharing their personal conversations (set to music) with the rest of the world. Over the past few years, Zucker has galvanized a dedicated fan base with his early independently-released EPs and continued with his breakout singles “talk is overrated” ft. blackbear in 2017 and “all the kids are depressed” in 2018. He’s continued his upward mobility by outdoing himself with “comethru,” which has reached a staggering 80 million Spotify streams and 35 million video views. Combining the soulful melodies of her angelical voice with the dynamics of acoustic elements and contemporary sounds, Bibi Saboia brings a new experience into the young generation of indie electro-pop music artists.

Brazilian singer/songwriter based in the United States, Bibi is the 3rd generation in a family of professional musicians and songwriters, having her talent unveiled in 2016, at the early age of 13, when she signed with Warner Music Brazil.

In 2017, after the release of her first single “Vc Só Sabe De Vc” followed by the EP “Tão Certa”, Bibi moved to the United States to pursuit for wider artistic possibilities and started to write her new songs in English.
