ROLLS-ROYCE SPECTRE: FIRST FULLY ELECTRIC CAR

A PROPHECY FULFILLED, A PROMISE KEPT, A REMARKABLE UNDERTAKING UNDERWAY

ROLLS-ROYCE MOTOR CARS ANNOUNCES FIRST FULLY ELECTRIC CAR, SPECTRE, COMING IN 2023

In an historic announcement, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced today, that on-road testing of its first fully electric motor car is imminent. In announcing this seminal moment for the marque, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Chief Executive Officer, Torsten Müller-Ötvös, said:

“Today is the most significant day in the history of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars since 4 May 1904. On that date, our founding fathers, Charles Rolls and Sir Henry Royce, first met and agreed that they were going to create ‘the best motor car in the world’.

“Using the most advanced technology available to them at the time and by applying their remarkable engineering minds, these two pioneers elevated early internal combustion engine cars, from noisy, uncomfortable and rudimentary means of transportation, by setting a completely new benchmark of distinction.

“The cars they created, introduced to the world a true luxury experience and secured for Rolls-Royce the ultimate pinnacle position that it continues to occupy, unchallenged, to this day. The marque has continued to define the very best in internal combustion motoring for more than a century.

“Today, 117 years later, I am proud to announce that Rolls-Royce is to begin the on-road testing programme for an extraordinary new product that will elevate the global all-electric car revolution and create the first – and finest – super-luxury product of its type. This is not a prototype. It’s the real thing, it will be tested in plain sight and our clients will take first deliveries of the car in the fourth quarter of 2023.”

A PROPHECY FULFILLED

“The use of electric motors is not a new concept for Rolls-Royce. Sir Henry Royce was fascinated by all things electrified, and his first venture, named F. H. Royce and Company, created dynamos, electric crane motors and patented the bayonet-style light bulb fitting.

“However, it was Charles Rolls who truly prophesied an electrified future for automobiles. In April 1900 he experienced an early electric motor car named the Columbia and declared its electric drive to be ideal.

“Rolls said, ‘The electric car is perfectly noiseless and clean. There is no smell or vibration, and they should become very useful when fixed charging stations can be arranged. But for now, I do not anticipate that they will be very serviceable – at least for many years to come.’

“Charles Rolls’ prophecy has been the subject of constant consideration during the marque’s Goodwood era. But we have not been satisfied that available technology could support the Rolls-Royce experience. Until now.

“Now is the time to change the course of the future of luxury.

“We embark on this bold new future with a huge advantage. Electric drive is uniquely and perfectly suited to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, more so than any other automotive brand. It is silent, refined and creates torque almost instantly, going on to generate tremendous power. This is what we at Rolls-Royce call ‘waftability’.

“At Rolls-Royce, we have been experimenting with an electric powertrain for some time. In 2011 we revealed 102EX, a fully operational all-electric Phantom. We followed this in 2016 with our fully electric 103EX, which represented our vision for the marque several decades into the future.”

A PROMISE KEPT

“These extraordinary products prompted a huge amount of interest in electric powertrain technology amongst our clients. They considered it as the perfect fit for Rolls-Royce. And, over the past decade, I have been repeatedly asked, ‘When will Rolls-Royce go electric?’ and ‘When will you produce your first electric car?’

“I answered with an unambiguous promise: ‘Rolls-Royce will go electric, starting this decade.’ Today, I’m keeping my word.”

A REMARKABLE UNDERTAKING

“Charles Rolls’ prophecy and my promise have led us to a seminal moment for the marque. Rolls-Royce has embarked on an historic and unique undertaking, which today becomes a reality. Our designers and engineers have worked relentlessly to bring us here: we are now ready to commence road-testing of the first all-electric Rolls-Royce in history.

“This fundamental change in our powertrain technology requires that we challenge every single aspect of the product before we offer it to the most discerning and demanding individuals in the world – our Rolls-Royce clients.

“To do this, we have conceived the most demanding testing programme in Rolls-Royce’s history. We will cover 2.5 million kilometres – a simulation of more than 400 years of use for a Rolls-Royce, on average – and we will travel to all four corners of the world to push this new motor car to the limit.

“You will see these test cars on roads, around the world. Look out for them – they will be in plain sight. They will be tested in all conditions and over all terrains on their multi-million-mile journey – that will literally accelerate Rolls-Royce into the future.”

TRULY FLEXIBLE ARCHITECTURE OF OUR OWN

“In 2017, we debuted Phantom, and with it the marque’s proprietary aluminium architecture: a scalable and flexible spaceframe that would underpin all forthcoming Rolls-Royce motor cars. This unique technology – developed for Rolls-Royce by Rolls-Royce and reserved for the marque’s exclusive use – was created to form the foundation of not just different internal combustion engine models, as it now does with Cullinan and Ghost, but models with completely different powertrains.

“To this end, our forthcoming electric car benefits from the Rolls-Royce architecture and therefore the extraordinary experience of a Rolls-Royce on the road. Free of any group platform sharing strategy, we were able to integrate our plans for an electric powertrain into the architecture’s initial design and ensure that this extraordinary new product meets the extremely high expectations of our clients.”

A NEW NAME: A NEW LEGACY

“This Rolls-Royce is the fulfilment of a prophecy and it represents a promise kept as we embark upon a unique undertaking. It is the beginning of a new legacy for our brand. In that spirit, we have decided on a completely new name for this car. A name that is as powerful and evocative as the nameplates that have served us so perfectly for the past century – names like Phantom, Ghost and Wraith. It’s a name that perfectly fits the ethereal and other worldly environment within which our products exist – a name that we have reserved especially for this moment: Spectre.

“Spectre is a name given to otherworldly beings synonymous with great power and apparition; creatures of an alternative realm that make their presence felt through fleeting manifestation. A spectre forces the world to pause. It dominates the space it occupies. Then, as quickly as it appears, it dissipates, leaving a wake of exhilaration, energy, and intrigue.

“This name perfectly matches the extraordinary Rolls-Royce that we are announcing today – a motor car that makes its presence felt before disappearing into a world inaccessible to all but the very few. As a quintessentially British brand, we have selected the British spelling, however the meaning is universal.

AN EXTRAORDINARY FUTURE

“With this new product we set out our credentials for the full electrification of our entire product portfolio by 2030. By then, Rolls-Royce will no longer be in the business of producing or selling any internal combustion engine products.

“Spectre is the living fulfilment of Charles Rolls’ Prophecy. My Promise, made on behalf of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, is kept. Now we begin a remarkable undertaking. I am proud that we will continue to propel the world’s most progressive and influential women and men into a brilliant, electrified future.”

MASN says, ““Strawberry Huracan” is the breath of fresh air on this EP. Continuously listening to sad songs would drown you in sadness, so you need the contrast to balance everything out. I wrote “Strawberry Huracan” because I wanted a good driving song and it reminds me exactly for what I’m grateful for. That contrast alone is so vital to this EP as a whole”.

Last year MASN released his debut EP “How To Kill A Rockstar  as well as “Mountains,” a collaboration with label mates Lost Kings. MASN’s debut EP received critical praise – the track “Hate Me!” was featured on Billboard’s “10 Cool New Pop Songs To Get You Through The Week” and Ones To Watch “#NowWatching” playlist and “Fire” which PAPER called “compelling.” The EP also included previously released tracks “Psycho!,” “Psycho!” feat. New EP “That Was Then” To Be Released in November

“Trevor Daniel’s Emotive Music Is Selling Out Shows and Topping Charts” — Rolling Stone

“Chartbreaker Artist of January 2020” — Billboard Magazine

Houston bred/LA based singer, songwriter Trevor Daniel releases his new single “Alone” along with the music video today via ALAMO/RCA Records. The video is directed by Danny Ghost. “Alone” is the first release for Trevor through his new ALAMO/RCA Records deal. “Alone” which interpolates the Alice DJ smash “Better Off Alone” follows Trevor’s most recent release Fingers Crossed” with Julia Michaels which was released to much celebration earlier this year. Additionally, Trevor has announced his new EP That Was Then” will be released this November.

When asked about “Alone” Trevor says, “The original song by Alice DJ was a song that I’ve listened to nonstop since elementary school. On the way to a studio session, I was listening to the song and got inspired to do an interpretation of it because of the feelings I was going through from a breakup at the time.”

About “That Was Then,” Trevor says, “This project is essentially a bunch of things made throughout quarantine, inspired by the random points and emotions of where my head was throughout the year in comparison to where I’m at now….THAT WAS THEN”.

Fresh off of star-turning performances at both Lollapalooza and Life is Beautiful, Trevor is slated for additional performances at Firefly this weekend and Outside Lands next month.

Earlier this year Trevor released his debut album Nicotine,  a ten track, tightly produced album which includes the anthemic single “Past Life” which was co-produced by Grammy winning songwriter and Billie Eilish collaborator, Finneas O’Connell. The Billboard Magazine “Chartbreaker” artist titled the album Nicotine to reflect on the addictive nature of love and heartbreak.  Originally from Houston, TX, (now based in LA) Trevor became an artist to watch with the success of his melancholic trap-infused single “Falling” — which after a second boost on Tik Tok, peaked at #25 on the Hot 100 charts and in the Top 20 in over 40 countries becoming a Global artist almost overnight.

About Trevor Daniel

Trevor Daniel inhabits his songs like a method actor. He recalls exactly where he was, what he saw, and how he felt as he replays each moment and memory with a vivid level of lyrical detail, projecting a first-person perspective and immersing his entire being within smoked-out alternative pop soundscapes boosted by trap grit. Through the haze, the Houston, TX multi platinum singer, songwriter, and producer forges an unbreakable bond with listeners. In 2018, he caught the attention of Internet Money Founder and super producer Taz Taylor [XXXTentacion, Juice WRLD]. Together, they cooked up “Falling” along with KCsupreme and Charlie Handsome.  The track took the internet and the culture by storm, generating 1.1 billion Spotify streams, going triple-platinum, and cracking the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. During 2020, he dropped his full-length debut, Nicotine. It immediately incited tastemaker praise from OnesToWatch and Teen Vogue, while Rolling Stone christened him “a truly modern star.” On its heels, he teamed up with Selena Gomez for “Past Life,” generating hundreds of millions of streams in the process. Along the way, he contributed to the Spongebob Soundtrack and performed at LollapaloozaOutside LandsFirefly Festival, and more. Collaborations followed with everyone from Ty Dolla $ign, Bebe Rexha, Becky G and Tainy to Zara Larsson, Travis Barker, and Don Diablo before he served up “Fingers Crossed” with Julia Michaels in 2021. Now, Trevor welcomes audiences deeper into his world on a series of 2021 singles for ALAMO/RCA Records ignited by “Alone.”

JC STEWART SHARES NEW SINGLE

JC Stewart Shares New Single “Don’t Say You Love Me”

“Expect even bigger things to come from the Elektra signee.”Billboard

“JCs distinctive sound has captured the attention of many.”Uproxx

“Worthy of your attention.” – E! News

Fresh off a nomination at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, Elektra Recording artist JC Stewart has shared his brand-new single ”Don’t Say You Love Me.”  The new song will appear on the singer-songwriter’s eagerly anticipated second EP, which will be released later this year.

“Don’t Say You Love Me” is already an established fan favorite after being the opening song in JC’s live show for several year. After listening it’s clear why he choses to introduce himself to new audiences with this track. It amasses everything that makes his status as a rising star undeniable, into a three-minute pop package. It simmers with drama, as it escalates from introspective verses before erupting into a memorable hook.

Meanwhile, JC’s talent for delivering vulnerable stories of lost love into songs of huge appeal reaches new heights. It’s a simple message about something that almost everyone goes through: if we have to split up, lets at least limit the pain we’ll put ourselves through by making it a clean break.

“Don’t Say You Love Me” is a song I wrote over three years ago. I opened the live set with it for years and it always made me feel alive as soon as the first beat kicked in, JC shares. I wrote it about needing to leave someone and having to stand up for yourself and have the courage to walk away from something when it would probably be easier to stay. This song has been something I have been planning to get out to the world for a long, long time and I am so glad that that time has finally come,” he adds.

JC Stewart wrote “Don’t Say You Love Me” with Sam Merrifield (Mimi Webb) and the songs producer Nathaniel Detonate Ledwidge. It was subsequently completed with mixing from the Grammy-nominated Matty Green (Dua Lipa, Dermot Kennedy).

The emotions behind “Don’t Say You Love Me” fuel JCs impassioned and heartfelt performance in the accompanying video, which was directed by Nathan BarlowBut its overall atmosphere is one that instead builds excitement for his live show. JC begins the song alone before his band is revealed, as the climate around them builds into a tumultuous storm. It ends with him crowd-surfing above an audience of real fans. Before he drops to the ground, the storm has passed and a new ray of optimism shines through.

JC Stewart started 2021 on a high when he was named as MTV’s first global Push artist of the year. His single “Break My Heart” then continued to fire his momentum forward. Co-written with Niall Horan, the track broadened his already engaging pop appeal. His most recent single, “Loud”, again reiterated his phenomenal ascension. JC recently performed at the Latitude Festival and supported The Vamps on a run of UK tour dates. Details for his next run of headline shows will be revealed soon

Emerging from Northern Ireland, JC Stewart possesses all the traits needed to become a globally recognized artist. His music is powered by a voice as real and powerful as the heartfelt emotions he explores. Yet while his talent is remarkable, his personality is relatable. His sharp wit and inclusive nature are immensely popular at social media, a following which exploded after Jennifer Aniston shared his quarantine-themed twist on the Friends theme last year. The video quickly surpassed 5 million views and resulted in JC appearing on Good Morning America, TODAY, Access Hollywood, and more

That growing following includes some famous fans too. Last year saw him release his big collab, teaming up with 220 Kid for “Too Many Nights”, while his debut EP When The Light Hits The Room was co-written with the BRIT / Ivor Novello winner Tom Odell. His first major collaborator came when he co-wrote Hollywood, a song which later featured on Lewis Capaldi’s debut album.

NEIKED X MAE MULLER X POLO G

NEIKED X MAE MULLER X POLO G PREMIERE MAGNETIC NEW SINGLE “BETTER DAYS”

British singer/songwriter Mae Muller has joined forces with Swedish hitmaker NEIKED and platinum-selling rapper Polo G for a euphoric new single calledBetter Days. Out via Capitol Records, the track is a high-energy pop anthem whose optimistic outlook is undeniably catchy.

Produced by NEIKED, “Better Days” delivers a dance-ready collision of radiant horns, glittering synth, and pulse-pounding beats, an irresistible setting for Mae’s lush and lovely vocal work. As she voices her longing for a brighter future, Polo G drops in for a heart-on-sleeve verse that perfectly amplifies the tracks hopeful mood.

“Me and NEIKED have been sitting on this song for so long I can’t believe it’s out everywhere, and with Polo G,” says Mae. “I’m such a big fan of him, so to work together was such a dream. I want people to listen to this song and feel happy, to dance, to sing, and just enjoy life. We’ve earned that.

NEIKED adds, “I feel privileged to work with amazing artists like Mae Muller and Polo G. Two great people, and together we’ve created something special! I have been working hard on my upcoming music this year and now is a perfect time to finally share the first piece of the NEIKED puzzle. ‘Better Days’ is like a gracefully cooked palak paneer.

The video for “Better Days,” directed by Tom Dream, is due out soon.

“Better Days” arrives as the latest in a series of exciting collaborations from Mae, including tracks like “When You’re Out” (a June release created with chart-topping British duo Billen Ted). Last year, Mae made waves with her much-acclaimed debut EP, no one else, not even you,” an eight-track project built on her fearlessly honest yet free-spirited approach to songwriting. Made with producers/co-writers like Rick Nowels (Madonna, Lana Del Rey), Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith, Alicia Keys), Skyler Stonestreet (Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa), and Kenny Beats (FKA twigs, Ed Sheeran), the EP brings Mae’s raw vulnerability to an immaculately composed but unpredictable brand of pop music.

About Mae Muller

North London singer-songwriter Mae Muller is intent on telling it precisely like it is – she’s frank, funny, and endlessly relatable. Mae’s debut EP “no one else, not even you,” offers a rarely glimpsed look at the tension between the thrill of new love and the fear of losing your sense of self. It showcases the fearlessly honest yet irresistibly fun song writing that’s hailed Mae as “a clear pop sensation in the making,” by Wonderland and the “new queen,” by NYLON. The year 2021 has seen her team up with chart-topping duo Billen Ted for “When You’re Out,” renowned rapper Big Zuu for “I Did It” and rising UK talent Master Peace for “Boyfriend”. To date, Mae has amassed over 200 million streams globally, with her songs featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday and Apple Music’s A-List Pop, In My Room, Future Hits, and more. She’s also stormed her way through the live world, selling out an early 2020 headline tour of the U.K. and earning an adoring worldwide following who’ve come to rely on her uncompromising self-expression. Ahead of her 2022 rescheduled UK tour (including the O2 Forum Kentish Town) this summer has seen Mae take to festival stages across the UK to huge crowds including the likes of Reading & Leeds, Bestival, Latitude and Sundown Festival.

ABOUT NEIKED

Hailing from Sweden, producer and songwriter NEIKED is widely known for his smash hit “Sexual,” which has surpassed 600 million streams globally and garnered over one million UK sales. The track also cracked the Top 10 in 11 countries (including reaching #4 on the Official UK and Australian Charts) and received over 105K radio plays in the UK alone. NEIKED followed up with global smash hit What Lovers Do in collaboration with SZA and Maroon 5, generating a massive Top 10 placement in 39 countries (#3 in the US) with an impressive 2.5+ billion streams across all platforms. Scientists Mapping Next Pandemic

An international team of scientists has created a powerful new resource to speed the development of vaccines and treatments to battle the next pandemic.

University of Virginia School of Medicine researcher Wladek Minor, PhD, and collaborators in China and Poland have developed an Internet information system, called virusMED, that lays out all we know about the atomic structure and potential vulnerabilities of more than 800 virus strains from 75 different virus families, including SARS-CoV-2, influenza, Ebola and HIV‑1. Several of the collaborators, including the lead investigator, Heping Zheng, are former students and members of Minor’s lab at UVA.

This new panorama of the proteins of potential threats will help scientists respond quickly and effectively against the next pathogen poised to wreak havoc on humanity. Minor and his collaborators compare the resource to Google Maps, in that it organizes and annotates major points of interest on a virus that scientists can use as a roadmap in drug and vaccine development.

“The battle with COVID-19 is not over yet, but we cannot wait to start preparing for the next pandemic. VirusMED is a step towards an advanced information system that brings together researchers with diverse expertise to tackle complex biomedical challenges,” said Minor, the Harrison Distinguished Professor of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics at UVA. “The information contained in virusMED will help viral researchers from many disciplines, especially those working on drug design or anti-viral therapies. We provide novel structural analysis and integrate pertinent information from various resources to provide a comprehensive picture of the proteins’ most important and vulnerable regions.”

Virus Hotspots

By quickly unlocking the SARS-CoV-2 virus mechanism of action, scientists were able to develop safe and effective vaccines for COVID-19. Minor’s new database aims to put that type of critical information at scientists’ fingertips in one convenient location.

VirusMED contains extensive information on virus species and strains, hosts, viral proteins and antibodies, as well as drugs that have already been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, among other important scientific data. The researchers call the points of interest on a virus its “hotspots,” and these hotspots make for strong starting points for drug and vaccine development.

“One of the most promising strain-indifferent antibody therapies developed for the treatment of COVID-19 used this type of information to improve upon a unique antibody isolated from a survivor who was infected by the SARS virus back in 2003,” said David Cooper, PhD, research faculty in Minor’s lab. “People who are surprised by rapid drug and vaccine design don’t realize that researchers today are building upon decades of previous research.”

One of virusMED’s major advantages is that it brings together the extant knowledge about viruses in one location, Minor said. Previously, that data was spread across multiple resources and often “siloed” so that it was not easily accessible. With virusMED, researchers can browse the information by virus or by their hotspot of interest.

The free and accessible database can be found HERE.

“One of the goals of my lab is to make tools that other scientists can use. We look at the forest and find ways to help others focus on the trees,” Minor said. “Resource generation is not glamorous, but the ultimate goal of science is to make life better. One of the anonymous peer-reviewers of the paper claimed they instantly became an enthusiastic user of the system. We expect virusMED to really make a difference.”

Findings Published

The researchers have published their findings in the scientific IUCr Journal. The work will be featured on the journal’s cover. The research team consisted of HuiHui Zhang, Pei Chen, Haojie Ma, Magdalena Woinska, Dejian Liu, Cooper, Guo Peng, Yousong Peng, Lei Deng, Minor and Zheng. .

We are delighted that by living up to our ‘Fund your passion’ mantra, we were able to help so many enthusiasts get out on the open road in the car they’ve always promised themselves.”

Nayan V Kisnadwala, Chief Executive Officer, said: “The ending of lockdown in March opened the floodgates.  JBR Capital’s unmatched knowledge of the high-end automotive sector, combined with the fact that we had already initiated a recruitment drive to further bolster our highly motivated, customer-focused, and passionate workforce, meant that we were ideally placed to meet the demand. We have increased our workforce by 50% since the start of the year to ensure we continue providing the very best personalized service to our customers as we foresee demand for today’s high-performance cars remaining exceptionally strong. At the same time, further growth will be fuelled by forthcoming models yet to be released. In the months ahead, JBR Capital will continue to help customers fund their automotive passion.”

Released last Monday, the song “BRIGHTSIDE” is quickly making an impact with well over two million streams and is the #1 most added song on the Alternative radio this past week.

The album BRIGHTSIDE was produced by longtime collaborator Simone Felice and produced, mixed, and engineered by David Baron over two sessions in winter and spring 2021 at Sun Mountain Studios in bucolic Boiceville, NY. BRIGHTSIDE marks The Lumineers’ first new music in more than two years as well as the band’s most joyous and spontaneous piece of work thus far. The nine-song collection sees The Lumineers’ co-founders/co-songwriters Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites performing virtually all of the eclectic, effervescent instrumentation, with Baron on a wide variety of keyboards and backing vocals and more by Simone Felice, touring members Byron Isaacs and Lauren Jacobson, famed backing singer Cindy Mizelle (Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews Band), The Felice Brothers’ James Felice, and acclaimed singer-songwriter Diana DeMuth.
