Maine’s Harvest on the Harbor Returns

Harvest on the Harbor returns November 4-6, 2021 with multi-day food, drink, and Maine-maker events. This year’s main events will take place at O’Maine Studios on Danforth Street with fringe events at select Portland-area locations. A plan for virtual festival components is in the works and details will be announced later this month.

In light of the ongoing pandemic, this year’s celebration of Maine’s farmers, fishermen, distillers, and food community will require proof of vaccination or negative COVID tests at the events. The Meet Your Maker and OysterFest at O’Maine studios will take advantage of the venue’s large garage bays and courtyard space, allowing for plenty of airflow and movement. All events are designed to keep the health and safety of everyone in mind.

Rockefeller Productions – Winnie The Pooh

Rockefeller Productions Announces Safety Protocol For their Record-Breaking Disney Winnie The Pooh The New Musical Stage Adaptation

Performances begin at Theatre Row on October 21, 2021

A leader in family entertainment, Rockefeller Productions announces one of the country’s most thorough and considerate safety protocols for their highly anticipated new musical, Disney Winnie The Pooh, beginning performances on October 21, 2021, at Theatre Row. The new protocols will ensure the safety of every audience member and performer.

Keeping in line with current CDC and industry safety standards, all patrons will be required to wear a mask inside the theatre, and every person 12+ will be required to show proof of vaccine before entering the theatre.  Those under 12 years old will be required to show evidence of a negative PCR COVID test within 3 days of the performance or a negative COVID rapid antigen test from a doctor or testing site within 6 hours of performance.

To make it easier for families to return to the theatre, Rockefeller Productions has partnered with Dr. Karen Thornton to provide free rapid on-site testing, good within six hours of the test. The testing van will be located directly outside of Theatre Row (410 W 42nd Street) up to 1.5 hours before curtain time. It will be equipped with trained nurses to administer the non-invasive swab rapid test with results in 15 minutes. Parents should arrive at least thirty minutes before curtain time to ensure a negative test before entering the theatre. Rockefeller Productions will also provide activities for young people to assist families while they wait for the results.

Additionally, Rockefeller Productions will be introducing Seating Bubbles during certain performances distancing family units throughout the theatre. Finally, in its most comprehensive and definitive safety measure, they are also offering the Ultimate Winnie the Pooh VIP Experience with the privacy and comfort of a complete theatre buy-out accommodating up to 190 guests, as a way to enjoying the magic of Winnie the Pooh with the confidence and comfort of personally knowing every other patron attending the performance.

These safety measures are the most complete and thoughtful plan to bring audiences back to the theatre with confidence.

“We are excited to welcome audiences back to the theatre, but we also understand the difficulties that parents face in trying to adhere to current guidelines. Rockefeller Productions is happy to partner with Dr. Thornton and her team of professionals to make testing easy and convenient.  These efforts are well worth it to ensure the safety of our patrons while making sure they have complete confidence returning to live theatre once again.”  Rockefeller Productions’ Jonathan Rockefeller

Breaking box office records, Rockefeller Productions will debut its newest and most anticipated production Disney Winnie the Pooh: The New Musical Stage Adaptation, featuring songs by the Sherman Brothers and A.A. Milne, on October 21, 2021. This beautifully crafted musical stage adaptation is set deep in the Hundred Acre Wood and told with stunning life-size puppetry through the eyes of the Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin, and their best friends Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Rabbit, and Owl (and Tigger too).

Winnie the Pooh: The New Musical Adaptation is developed and presented by renowned family entertainment creator Jonathan Rockefeller (whose spectacular puppetry is omnipresent in the acclaimed productions of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show and Paddington Gets in a Jam).  Performances will take place at Times Square’s Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street) beginning October 21, 2021.

Tickets are now available here.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Winnie the Pooh has been enjoyed by millions of readers and viewers ever since English author A.A. Milne first chronicled the adventures of Christopher Robin’s friends in the Hundred Acre Wood in 1926. The books, featuring illustrations by English illustrator E.H. Shephard has sold over 50 million copies worldwide. The theatrical rights to the Pooh stories were acquired by Disney in 1961, with an original intent to produce a feature film, but after production began, Walt Disney decided to make short featurettes instead. The three featurettes were subsequently incorporated into the feature The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.  This was the last film in the Disney canon in which Walt Disney had personal involvement. The first featurette, Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree was released during his lifetime, while Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day was still in development.  Disney’s Winnie the Pooh has since become one of the best-loved and most successful franchises in history.

The Sherman Brothers are the multi-talented Oscar® and Grammy® Award-winning American songwriting duo of Richard M. Sherman and Robert B.   Sherman. The Sherman Brothers wrote more motion-picture musical scores than any other songwriting team in film history.  Among these are the Disney classics Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and The Aristocats. The Sherman Brothers worked directly with Walt Disney on the first two Winnie the Pooh featurettes:  Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (which garnered a Grammy Award nomination) and Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day. The brothers won a Grammy Award for the third featurette:  Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too.  All three featurettes were incorporated into the 1977 musical film The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. The duo also wrote songs for Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore and The Tigger Movie, with their music also featured in the movie Christopher Robin.

Jonathan Rockefeller and Rockefeller Productions embraced the challenge of re-imaging Disney’s Winnie the Pooh for a new audience by bringing it to life on stage in puppet form. The company has garnered global accolades, from critics and audiences alike, for their production of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, with 14 productions playing on four continents. An extended run of the show in New York City culminated in Drama Desk and Off-Broadway Alliance nominations, as did their production of Paddington Gets in a Jam, which tours China and the US later this year. Other projects include Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, which plays on three continents, Mr. Men and Little Miss Show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the award-winning short film, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, written by preeminent author/illustrator Eric Carle.

Produced in association with Disney Theatrical Productions.

Marcel Spears × The Neighboorhood

Marcel Spears stars as Cedric the Entertainer’s son “Marty” in the CBS hit-comedy The Neighborhood. The popular series is currently in production for season 4, and will return on September 20th.

The Neighborhood continues to use its platform to address systemic racism in the U.S., beginning this season by confronting the federal government’s promise to give reparations to its oppressed citizens. The show gives audiences a feeling of community but also addresses these heavier, sometimes uncomfortable, topics, with a creative delivery utilizing comic relief to provoke discourse in people’s homes. Marcel’s character “Marty” will return home this season with a variety of circumstances that audiences are excited to unpack.

In addition to The Neighborhood, you may have seen Marcel as the scene-stealing “T.K. Clifton” on the ABC comedy The Mayor and co-starring in the BET film Always a Bridesmaid, on Netflix.

Marcel was forced out of his hometown of New Orleans by the devastation Hurricane Katrina brought to his beloved city. To this day, his strong affinity for New Orleans remains along with his second home, New York City, where he attended and received a Master of Fine Arts in acting at Columbia University. Marcel spent many years delving into meaty theater roles, including the title role of the Classic Stage Company’s production of Shakespeare’s Othello,  A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by Tyne Rafaeli, for which he was awarded the Rosemarie Tichler Fund Grant for his performance, and a prominent role in an adaptation of August Wilson’s ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’.

California – New State Parks Program

California State Parks, First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom and the Natural Resources Agency today announced the opportunity for fourth graders to apply for a free California State Parks Adventure Pass. Effective today, they can apply for the pass that will give them the opportunity to explore 19 select state parks free for a full year.

“The California State Park Adventure Pass is an incredible new program that will help promote a healthier, more equitable California for all—a California where every child has the opportunity to explore, learn and benefit from our state’s natural wonders,” said First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom.

Championed by the First Partner, whose California for All Kids initiatives support children’s physical, mental and social-emotional well-being, the California State Park Adventure Pass Program expands the opportunity for fourth graders and their families to enjoy the benefits of connecting with nature, with each other and with their communities.

Applying for the free pass online is simple. All that is needed is a name, address, phone number and an email address. For individuals who do not have access to a smartphone, computer or printer, and/or do not have an email address to use when applying online, they can still apply for a pass by visiting a State Parks Pass Sales Office—click here for a list of locations—or by calling (800) 444-7275. For detailed information on the program and the list of participating park units, please visit parks.ca.gov/AdventurePass.

Assembly Bill 148, signed by Governor Newsom in July, established the California State Park Adventure Pass Program, a three-year pilot program that waives day-use entrance fees to 19 state parks for fourth graders and their families for a full year. Earlier this year, the governor also signed Senate Bill 129, legislation that includes $5.6 million to fund the new Pass program.

When determining which park units would be selected to participate in the pilot program, State Parks reviewed several factors including a diverse list of park units that span the state geographically. By spreading the park units throughout the state, the department will be able to maximize participation by limiting the distance that would need to be traveled to the nearest participating park. State Parks was also mindful of including a diverse collection of park units in terms of park features. The final list includes beaches, museums, redwoods, off-highway vehicle recreation, hiking trails and important cultural history.

The State of California believes in the right of all Californians to have access to recreational opportunities and enjoy the cultural, historic and natural resources found across the state. Too many Californians cannot access the state’s parks, beaches and outdoor spaces, nor the state’s array of museums and cultural and historical sites. Given this, the California Natural Resources Agency and California State Parks are prioritizing efforts to expand all Californians’ access to park, open space, nature and cultural amenities. This priority requires reshaping funding and programs to expand opportunities to enjoy these places. Doing so advances Governor Gavin Newsom’s strong personal commitment to building a “California for All.”

Aston Martin – No Time To Die Edition

The Little Car Company, Aston Martin and EON Productions today announced the launch of a No Time To Die special edition Aston Martin DB5 Junior. Inspired by the 25th James Bond film, No Time To Die, released in cinemas from September 30, the film sees the return of the iconic Aston Martin DB5. This unique collaboration with The Little Car Company has created a gadget-laden collector’s item. The two-thirds scale version of the original comes with a fully electric powertrain.

Specifications

The No Time To Die edition will pay homage to the rich shared history of the brands, with Silver Birch paintwork, Smiths instruments, individually numbered chassis plates, and complete with Aston Martin badging. In true Bond style, this special edition boasts even greater power and range over the standard DB5 Vantage Junior, giving it a higher level of performance.

After extensive development and months of collaboration between the three companies, the car is a truly authentic homage to both the Aston Martin and 007 brands. The original Aston Martin DB5 was 3D-scanned for reference, allowing a completely accurate reproduction. Whilst some elements of the car have been replicated, such as the Smiths instruments on the dashboard, some elements have been reimagined for the modern era. The fuel gauge has been converted into a battery meter, while the oil temperature now monitors the motor temperature.

The No Time To Die Special Edition has been designed as a convertible, and not the fixed head coupe drove by 007. This is to offer seating for an adult and child side by side, allowing all generations of Bond fans to share the love of driving. With multiple driving modes and a range of up to 80 miles, aspiring secret agents should be able to escape any situation. There are also some secret ‘Easter Eggs’ hidden within the car for the lucky owners to find.

A quick-release steering wheel allows for a speedy entry and exit for the driver, and when they need to stop in a hurry, they can rely on both regenerative braking and high-performance Brembo disc brakes. Bilstein dampers and coil-over springs make sure the suspension can handle the performance squeezed into this two-thirds scale marvel.

No Time To Die Specification

James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 has become a much-loved character in its own right. No Bond car would be complete without Q-style gadgets, and the Aston Martin DB5 Junior No Time To Die edition is no exception. 360 Magazine is pleased to see this big collaboration in a huge style.

Chris Corbould OBE, the Oscar®-winning special effects supervisor, has worked on fifteen James Bond films since the early 1980s, and he consulted with The Little Car Company on the development of the car’s complex gadgets in miniature;

“When I saw the DB5 Junior in the flesh, I was amazed at how identical it is to the full-sized car – it’s stunning. It’s an amazing feat of engineering.”

All the gadgets are operated by individual controls in a hidden switch panel in the passenger door. At the push of a button, the headlights drop to reveal a twin set of simulated Gatling guns, complete with imitation barrel blasts and flashes.

As witnessed in the No Time To Die trailer, the skid mode comes in handy when caught in a tight spot. The No Time To Die special edition has a unique digital number plate activated through the hidden control panel.

Just like the original car, this special edition can produce a smokescreen to aid a successful getaway. Ejected through the rear ‘exhaust’, the smoke has a supply tank that supplies an hour of safe smoke before it needs topping up.

Although the DB5 Junior is not road legal, as an authentic Aston Martin model, every owner will receive automatic membership of the respected Aston Martin Owners Club. In addition, all clients will receive complimentary membership of The Little Car Club, allowing them to take part in exclusive events where they, their children, and their grandchildren can drive their DB5 Juniors on the most prestigious racetracks.

Ben Hedley, CEO of The Little Car Company, said: “Regarded as the most famous car in cinematic history, the gadget-laden Aston Martin DB5 awed audiences around the world over fifty years ago. Now, that story continues. As part of an exclusive partnership with EON Productions and Aston Martin, we have had the opportunity to create something truly unique for James Bond fans and collectors. We can’t wait to see the adventures these cars take with their owners.”

Bond fans worldwide are able to secure one of the limited-edition No Time To Die editions of the DB5 Junior by visiting 007junior.com. With only 125 cars being built, build slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, by placing a fully refundable deposit.

Pricing for the car has been set at £90,000, plus local taxes. Existing Aston Martin DB5 Junior clients will be given the first refusal on upgrading to a No Time To Die edition, and remaining build slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Aiways New U5 SUV

The all-electric Aiways U5 SUV has driven its way to multiple victories and prestigious awards this month, taking on three long-range endurance challenges across Europe and winning the Riviera Electric Challenge (14-16 September). 37 vehicles from 11 established brands took on the Riviera Electric Challenge driving 200km from Cagnes-sure-Mer, France, through Italy’s mountain scenery and ending in iconic Monaco. Aiways was the only Chinese manufacturer to enter the all-electric challenge, now in its seventh year. Live energy consumption data was tracked for each vehicle along the demanding route, and the Aiways U5 SUV outperformed the competition to take the top spot with French former rally driver Bernard Darniche behind the wheel alongside teammate Philippe Dupuy.

The former European Rally champion commented: “I have won many races and taking part in the Riviera Electric Challenge was a chance to experience the future of racing. It was great to test my competitive skills in a new way where winning was not about being fastest. The Aiways U5 SUV was a responsive and easy drive, and it was an absolute pleasure to be behind the wheel of this electric car for the 200km journey. We were not leading at the end of day one, but through consistent driving on day two, we secured first place in the Aiways U5 SUV.”

The weekend just gone; three Aiways U5 SUVs also participated in the famous E-Cannonball endurance drive. This prestigious event among the electric vehicle community attracted celebrity drivers and over 70 teams who had to cover the distance between Berlin and Munich, accumulating points for kilometers covered, number of charging stops and average energy consumption. One Aiways U5 SUV was ably driven by model and influencer Nicola Cavanis, who took her 860,000 followers along for the ride keeping them updated with live conversations during the entire trip. She stated: “It was great fun, and I enjoyed the drive in an all-electric car very much. Our team did well, we went smoothly between the challenges, and I got a lot of great feedback from my followers.” The second Aiways U5 SUV was entered by Aiways’ German retail partner and the main event sponsor, Euronics. The third Aiways U5 SUV was entered by an enthusiastic and loyal customer team. Both corporate teams and the private one arrived ahead of the time limit without any problems reaching the finish line in Munich.

Earlier in September, three electric U5 SUVs successfully completed the ED1000 endurance event, journeying 1,000km across Germany from Berlin via Bielefeld and Fulda to Munich in less than 14 hours – proving that electric mobility is a viable option for day-to-day and long-distance driving. Aiways entered two vehicles which finished only an hour apart. The third Aiways U5 SUV was entered by Aiways’ German service and mobility partner A.T.U who provided technical support for all brands participating in the endurance drive.

At the wheel of one Aiways U5 during the ED1000 was Dr Alex Klose, Executive Vice-President of Overseas Operations at Aiways. He commented, “We are very pleased with the consistent and impressive performance from the U5 during these long-distance tests, particularly because we competed against and outperformed many vehicles from mainstream car brands.

“Our ‘September success’ has been a fantastic illustration of the U5’s capabilities and its suitability as the main family car. Aiways’ future in Europe looks strong and we’re excited about participating in, and winning, more endurance races in the coming years.”

The positive and consistent performance from the Aiways U5 SUV across multiple long-range events this summer demonstrates the vehicle’s highly competitive real-world range of 330km – 82.5% of the official WLTP figure. With Level 2 autonomy and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including active cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot warning and the emergency braking assistant, every journey in U5 comes with safety and peace of mind.

With a starting price of $41,746*The Aiways U5 SUV offers a compelling price-to-range ratio and can charge from 30% to 80% in just 27 minutes, making zero-emissions driving a welcome choice for any adventure.
