TA3 Swimwear

By: Leila Shams

As we near the end of winter, I’m sure we are all highly anticipating spring and summer. With the beautiful, warm weather rolling in comes the overwhelming need for a perfect beach body. What if we could eat whatever we want, work out less, and still look amazing on the beach? That’s where Leila Shams steps in and says “you can!” With her new swimsuit line, TA3 Swim, everyone can look and feel like a “Baywatch babe” walking down the beach.

Leila Shams is a seasoned fashion designer. She is founder and CEO of TA3 Swimwear–a fashion line that offers a newly innovative type of swimsuit that flatters your shape, regardless of body type. After a lot of hard work and dedication, she has created the world’s most sculpting swimsuits. Her exciting career has involved working for top brands such as DKNY, Express, and Tommy Hilfiger, but launching her newest swimwear line, TA3, has been the highlight of her career.

Leila created TA3 because she wanted to look good in a swimsuit and was inspired by her own insecurities. She wondered why women invest in shape wear for under their clothes, but then when they’re the most exposed on the beach, they wear some of the flimsiest garments ever.

“I see so many ‘inclusive’ swimwear brands showing a suit on a plus-sized woman that just doesn’t fit. If her bust isn’t supported, if there are bulges everywhere, then you’ve just sized up but you haven’t bothered to flatter her body” says Leila. Leila believes we should all be able to eat and still look hot at the pool or beach without having to stress. This is why she named the company TA3, which is “EAT” backwards.

It took Leila almost three years, hundreds of prototypes, and fittings to create a waterproof swimsuit that squeezes your body into a beautiful hourglass shape. TA3 suits are created from compression fabric, which Leila discovered after surgery when she had to wear a compression suit. Her swimsuit is a patent-pending construction that snatches your waist, flattens your tummy and lifts your bust.  Leila is a long-time fashion designer whose designs have clothed the biggest celebrities in the world including Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kelly Clarkson and Nicki Minaj. Her products are sold in some of the best boutiques and on-line retailers. Even with her rich designer past, Leila feels that the greatest thrill of her career and life is being the reason that women loving the way they look in a swimsuit, and instilling a newfound confidence in her customers.

TA3 suits are sexy, fashionable, and give every woman the shape and curves they have been striving for their entire lives. Leila’s current, one-piece suit collection comes in all-black , and features three trendy styles: zippy, lacey, and high-cut zippy. The suits are so versatile that women can even wear this matte swimsuit as a bodysuit with a skirt or jeans–making TA3 swimsuits the “little black dress” of this years’ Summer wardrobe. This will be your new go-to piece. You no longer need to buy several different bathing suits.

TA3 Swim has customers raving about their new self-esteem boost. Whether it’s a postpartum mother or victim of the “Covid-15” weight gain, TA3 is bringing women back to the beach and pool by making them feel confident. TA3 swimwear is handing women back their power. Women can now confidently strut their stuff without a worry in the world.

Leila’s creativity, relentless drive, and sense of humor make her the perfect female disruptor who is reimagining the concept of a successful apparel industry. Leila claims, “the way we usually fit women’s clothing is so backwards.” Models are tall, hourglass shaped and “perfect”–but this is not what the average, everyday woman looks like. Women’s bodies can vary and differ in so many ways. What sets Leila’s apparel apart from other brands is that her suits are not very stretchy, and she molds her styles on women of all shapes and sizes. Over the past two years, she has taken in her customers’ feedback and tweaked the design to make necessary changes, which has led to the development of her current collection. Leila explains that making clothing used to be expensive and slow, which was annoying because trends would die out before companies were even able to launch a product. Nevertheless, she realized that clothing should be expensive and slow, because although you may like to design and shop, creating stuff that is quick and cheap is merely fun. In fast fashion, workers aren’t paid what they should be paid and companies produce a lot of waste. On top of that, people end up buying a bunch of clothing that they wear once and then quickly throw away.

Swimsuits are not where it ends for Leila Shams. She fully expects to expand and incorporate more categories focused on ultra-flattering fits for your body shape. She is adding more lengths and fits to her best-selling styles, as well as adding bodysuits. She is also expanding her team. Now with Leila’s new swimsuit line, TA3 Swim, women no longer need to worry about their bodies, jump on crazy diet fads, or work out until their limbs fall off trying to achieve an unrealistic, nearly unattainable body. Leila wants to be known as “the fashion designer that stopped shoving women into thin, stretchy, and unflattering clothing.” She is determined to change the way we fit and size clothing. We can now live in and be proud of our own bodies.

DickPrint has the Best Gift for National Boyfriend Day

As a society, we love to celebrate the important people in our life and those things we enjoy the most. For that reason, we have a national day for most everything. From fries and pie to our parents and significant others. We have so many special dates, there is a website to help you keep track of those things and people you want to celebrate: National Day Calendar.

This October 3rd is National Boyfriend Day to “recognize the sweetheart in your life.” People usually celebrate this day by gifting their boyfriends any items they would enjoy. In 2020, you should consider buying your boyfriend premium underwear, swimwear, or t-shirts from DickPrint, the brand that encourages every man to become as desirable as he wants to feel.

When DickPrint was founded, they had three very special motivators to create a high-quality menswear brand that would stand out from the rest. The first one was to create premium high-performance clothing for men. How are they doing this? By designing products made out of premium performance fabrics that are more comfortable, longer lasting, and better for maintaining your manhood.

The second motivator was to empower men to feel sexy and confident. Clothing can be empowering every time you wear something you feel makes you look good. DickPrint’s goal is to design outfits to help men feel sexy and at the top of their game. They want you to “stop wasting money and mojo on cheap clothing that does not last and that you are not proud to wear.”

Last but not least, they are looking to inspire men to greatness through their own actions. Their main goal is men to be desirable, have manners, and live an exciting successful life. So, what would be better than gifting your boyfriend clothes that will help him feel confident and sexy while making him look good? It sounds like the perfect gift!

For this occasion, you can buy your man one of their sexy underwear options to keep their sweaty parts cool day and night. Their boxer briefs come in different sizes and colors to fit what your boyfriend likes. Or you could buy him one of DickPrint’s soft, flexible, and board swimming shorts. Those come in black, but also in fun and vibrant colors like orange and red. And if your boyfriend is more into t-shirts, they have four different designs. These are soft, breathable, classic cuts that fit perfectly and make bold statements.

DickPrint is a brand that believes in the power of men to be great. For them, the best kind of man is one who is a gentleman who does not succeed through the arrogant, sexist, racist use of force. They represent the men who are confident and respectful. The ones who are sexy and have manners. This is exactly why they should be your first gift option on this National Boyfriend Day. Buy your boyfriend a piece of clothing that will empower him, give him confidence, and push him to be the best version of himself. What are you waiting for? Which item will you buy for him?

The Men’s Guide to Swimwear

Even if you don’t swim, everyone needs to pack some swimwear on their summer holiday. Lounging by the pool or tanning on the beach demands comfortable, cool and quick-drying clothing that won’t fill up with sand and keeps you looking stylish while relaxing abroad. Bondi Joe men’s swimwear is by far the best alternative to get a lightweight, soft, smooth, and eco swimwear. Made with materials that ensure you a quick-dry, and thick but comfortable fabric that protects you and makes you feel good wearing them. All the company’s merch is made from recycled bottles fabrics, that means you can be fashionable and eco friendly at the same time.

So, here’s our quick guide to picking out the best men’s swimwear this season:

Styles of swimwear

Different holiday destinations have different style codes: for example, in Ibiza swim shorts of all types are seen everywhere while, in some countries, most notably France, if you go to a public pool you may be required to wear tight-fitting swimwear.

Briefs, trunks and jammers

These tight-fitting lycra models are ideal for sport swimming as they don’t fill with water. Briefs (aka “Speedo style”) offer the least coverage, trunks are more square cut and may extend down the thigh, while jammers are the longest cut and some designs reach down to the knee. Most people usually leave this sort of swimwear at home and prefer something looser and less fitted for holiday swimming.

Swim shorts

Swim shorts come in varying lengths and cuts from a skimpy high-leg cut (often referred to as classic, retro or volley short) to a long length Bermuda or boardshort style that reaches to the knee. Most fall to mid-thigh and have an internal mesh brief to offer additional support, while some come with handy zip pockets which can be useful for a few coins or keys.

Board shorts are a type of swim short that is usually a longer length and has a drawstring waist. They often don’t have the internal mesh, and some prefer to wear brief-style swimwear underneath.Trunks can refer to tight cut swimwear or a type of swim short that is mid-thigh in length, often with an elasticated rather than drawstring waist.

Materials

Most swimwear is made from polyester or nylon as it is quick to dry and doesn’t hold water, but lycra or elastane is used for tighter fitting swimwear to stop it from going baggy. Polyester swim shorts are typically preferred for use in swimming pools, as nylon is not chlorine-resistant, which leads to colour fade and the fabric degradation.

Sizing

Swimwear is usually sized using relative sizing – small, medium, large, etc. – so if you aren’t sure which size you need, you should check the manufacturer’s size guide. Some styles are sold, like shorts and trousers, by waist size. As waists are usually elasticated or adjustable, you may find sizing up or down offers the most comfortable fit depending on your hip and thigh measurements.

Designs

Almost anything goes when it comes to swim shorts. Board shorts are traditionally brightly patterned – often with floral motifs. Stripes are fashionable this year, and if you want to choose a pair of shorts that won’t look dated, you can’t go too wrong with black or navy and white colourways.

Accessories

In Italy, it is common for swim caps to be worn, so you may wish to pack one. Lycra caps are more comfortable to wear than silicone or latex. You may also want to pack a pair of goggles, since these are essential if you are training and useful if you want to see underwater at any time. Make sure they fit and are comfortable, or they will let water in.

If you’ve got a bit of extra space in your suitcase, then an easy-to-use snorkel mask allows you to snorkel with a reduced risk of breathing in water.

King Design at LA Fashion Week

by Tara McDonough

Now a permanent feature on the international fashion week circuit, LA Fashion Week held their three-night event at the Petersen Automotive Museum this past weekend, March 22 through March 24. On the third and final night of LA Fashion Week, the events began with the unveiling of King Designs Fall/Winter Collection by female designer Jessica King.

Billie Eilish’s “Bury A Friend” vibrated through the speakers as the first two models made their way down the runway in both black and green versions of King’s Python One Shoulder Swimsuit.

The collection is full of waterproof holographic and reflective prints, python reminiscent patterns, hand dyed bralettes, leather bottoms, velvet and chains. The line combines streetwear, swimwear and sportswear in a unique and enthralling way. The body types of each model varied, reflecting the clothing line’s range of sizes from X-small to X-large and the designers inclusive views on fashion. No two models looked alike, bringing a fresh air of diversity to the runway.

Jessica King herself graciously received her applause at the end of the show in an all black ensemble featuring a one shoulder top from the Fall/Winter collection and chainwork hanging from her belted ankle-length skirt.

About the collections:
The Joya Collection (Resort 2018) – Known as the mecca of understated boho fashion during the 1970s, Peru is the main inspiration for the Joya Collection (means jewel). From its exotic fruits and flowers, Incan ruins, colonial palaces and indigenous designs, the muted jewel tones and geometric shapes, plus the rich layering of textiles, have been meticulously applied to make this one of Prey Swim’s most sultry collections yet. Featuring custom Peruvian inspired prints, the color palette incorporates pink, red and blue shimmers, glittering gold, matte black and smokey gray, along with animal prints that attribute to beautiful South American wild cats.
The Riviera Collection (Pre-Fall 2017) – Prey Swim’s Riviera collection evokes the alluring coastline and glamour of The French Riviera during the 1950s and 1960s, when it was the crown destination for elevated tourism by Aristocrats, Actors and Bohemians alike. This collection is dedicated to the woman with effortless style and an insatiable desire for inspiration and relaxation, featuring hand-drawn prints, decadent colors, and new custom silhouettes such as The Biarritz deep v one piece, The Grace Top, and Bardot Bottoms – high waisted French cut bottoms with rear bow.
The Marrakech Collection (Summer 2017) – Prey Swim’s signature styles, which continue to be available through summer 2017, draw inspiration from the colors and textures of 1960s and 1970s Marrakech, The Rolling Stones, and designer Audrina Patridge’s captivation with the influence of this artistic time period and city, reflected through the prints and silhouettes created. The line’s signature St.Tropez one-piece continues to be a best-selling style as well as the fringe embellished style.
“We are so excited to show Prey Swim to Miami Swim Week! This is something I dreamed of when planning our initial brand debut, so to be showing here so soon after launching is a dream come true. I cannot wait for Miami to see our new suits! There are so many amazing swim designers showing collections that I have been a fan of for quite some time, so to be showing my line in their company, as a fellow swim designer, is an honor. Miami is such an amazing city with so many incredible cultures represented, so it is the perfect setting to showcase our Prey collections which draw inspirations from cultures and countries all over the world,” notes Prey Swim designer and founder Audrina Patridge.
