Talia Goddess – Poster Girl

As a pioneer of Brooklyn youth culture and a multifaceted creative, Tayahna Walcott, professionally known as Talia Goddess, releases her newest self-produced single Poster Girl on all streaming platforms off her forthcoming, debut EP.

Talia Goddess is a nineteen-year-old multi-hyphenate creative: singer-songwriter, rapper, producer, DJ, model, and community leader. Poster Girl is the third single off an EP of the same name to be released in Fall 2021. This track, like the EP, serves as a time-capsule of her teenage/high school years and experiences with love, identity, sexuality, loss, and growth. It is a reflective body of work on where she was mentally, emotionally, and spiritually the songs’ creation span from 2018 to 2020, and it’s also a reflection of her growth as an artist and my journey of finding her sound and avenue. Of the track, she says:

“Poster Girl has been long in the making, written and produced by me, and explores a theme of coming into an identity as a public figure or “Poster Girl” whose exterior is adored and idolized by many but in reality, is only the surface level to who I am.”

Talia Goddess merges her many talents as a self-taught singer-songwriter, rapper, music, producer, DJ, model, creative entrepreneur, and community leader to galvanize the next generation of creatives and push culture forward. Co-signed by the likes of A$AP Ferg, at the forefront of global campaigns with Converse, Tommy Hilfiger, MCM and editorials with Vogue, Refinery29, i-D, the queer vocalist-rapper hybrid seeks to leave her mark in a tangible form, impacting people through the words and rhythms that ultimately mirror how they feel inside, but can’t find the words to adequately express.

Determined to not be confined by the bounds of societal pressures, industry standards, and social conditioning, Talia has cultivated her own identity and seeks to bring various forms of art and expression under one umbrella in an unconventional way. An alchemist of words, an astute leader and cultural innovator, Talia Goddess is determined to help foster a safe and inclusive space for queer, black people such as herself and redefine and challenge the norms and expectations placed upon youth.

KSUBI ANNOUNCES A$AP TYY AS FACE OF THEIR FIRST GOLD JEWELRY LINE KSUBI GOLD

CAMPAIGN FEATURES SINGLE 100 ROUNDS

Rising Harlem rapper from the A$AP Mob collective, A$AP TyY unveils new single 100 Rounds, released via AWAL.

Click HERE to listen to 100 Rounds.

In tandem with the single release, A$AP TyY has been officially announced as the face of Australian streetwear brand, Ksubi’s first gold jewelry line KSUBI GOLD which launched yesterday, August 10th. In the newly formed partnership, TyY is featured prominently in the brand’s campaign imagery as well as providing the soundtrack for the official campaign video with 100 Rounds. Watch HERE.

As a longtime fan of KSUBI and a regular at their Greene Street store in NYC, the partnership was a natural fit for A$AP TyY. Working alongside Ksubi Creative Director, Brad Triffitt, the campaign visual depicts TyY in a high-octane heist of the new Ksubi Gold line, where he flexes his passion and skill for quad biking as he flees the scene through the streets of Harlem and New York City. 100 Rounds provides the perfect backing soundtrack for this thrilling chase, given its gritty sound and rebellious energy. Furthering the partnership, the 100 Rounds track artwork is designed by Triffitt to coincide with the Ksubi campaign visual.

The release of 100 Rounds follows TyY’s return to music earlier this summer with his emotive track 1990. Written and recorded during the pandemic, the track reflects on the past and present and what it feels like to have your world crumble around you and shifting focus to rebuilding. Click HERE to listen/watch.

A$AP TyY is next up out of the infamous Harlem collective and he’s bringing back grit and hard-hitting rap sounds back to New York. His previous releases have received acclaim from Hypebeast, Complex, HotNewHipHop, and more.

About A$AP TyY

A$AP TyY tells a different kind of Harlem story. His story has all of the hustling, heart, and triumph over adversity you might have come to expect from the borough, but thereߣs much more to it. He quietly grew into a diverse and dynamic presence just as proficient on an ATV as he is on the mic. In 2015, he fueled a pair of bangers O Well and Chamber Lock with the late A$AP Yams. Locking into a groove, he unleashed the 2016 Best Kept Secret mixtape followed by the 2018 Troubles of the World mixtape. He also appeared on chart-busting projects such as A$AP Mobߣs Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy, which bowed at #6 on the Billboard Top 200. In between, he headlined packed shows on three continents, touring the U.S., China, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Simultaneously, he hosted an art exhibit and established himself as a style icon, delivering everything from a goggle collaboration with KidSuper to opening Shanghai Fashion Week 2019 in his first runway appearance for INXX and walking in NYFW 2019 for Woo Lee Studios. He joined forces with Milan-based designer Guntas for a line featured in the Spring 2018 Guntas collection. Along the way, he picked up acclaim from Hypebeast, Complex, HotNewHipHop, and more.

Day Two of Lollapalooza

The BMI Stage at Lollapalooza rocks on for day two of the famous festival. From pop and rock to hip-hop and EDM, the BMI Stage has a little something for everyone. Post-punk/rock band Mainland hits the stage first, followed by hip-hop blending emo rocker nothing, nowhere. Infamous trio CKY are prepared to show how far they’ve come since their days on the hit TV-series Jackass and Australian exports Chase Atlantic will keep the music pumping with their alt-pop vibes. Rising rap star, Buddy, will hit the stage next with a high energy set before R.LUM.R rounds out the performances with his signature smooth soul grooves.

BMI STAGE SCHEDULE – FRIDAY, AUGUST 3rd

MAINLAND | 1:00-1:40pm

Finding elegance in simplicity, California-via-Brooklyn band Mainland play a passionate blend of powerful rock rife with soaring choruses and chiming hooks that recalls garage-y New York City bands from the turn of the millennium. After independently releasing their Shiner EP in 2014, they landed a deal with 300 Entertainment as one of the label’s marquee acts. Following the release of the Outcast EP a year later, they dropped fan-favorite singles such as “Beggars” and “Permission Slip” – which both amassed over 1 million Spotify streams each. Between touring, the musicians recorded the songs comprising their 2018 full-length debut, led by the single “I Found God,” about the spiritual connection that arises when you experience real love communicated through sounds and visuals.

nothing,nowhere.2:10 – 2:50pm

The enigmatic guise of Vermont singer/songwriter Joe Mulherin, nothing, nowhere. plays an introspective blend of hip-hop and guitar-driven emo rock. While he continually hides his face in videos and promotional photographs, Mulherin’s lyrics pull out all stops in baring his soul. His most recent album, Ruiner, is an emotive exercise in catchy catharsis.

CKY | 3:20 – 4:00pm

Notorious in the 2000’s for their raucous sound and anarchic, hard-partying skate-punk aesthetic both onstage and off, Pennsylvania’s CKY are back with 2017’s The Phoenix, their first new album in eight years. While not necessarily a kinder, gentler ensemble, the CKY of 2018 is comprised of grown men who are feverishly devoted to delivering rock from its pretentious doldrums and serving up their music in as raw and authentic a manner as possible

CHASE ATLANTIC | 4:30 – 5:10pm

Chase Atlantic was formed by brothers, Mitchel Cave and Clinton Cave, and their longtime friend, Christian Anthony. The trio produces, performs, and passionately conjures up dark alternative pop punctuated by rock and R&B. This Australian group blurs the lines between a nocturnal aesthetic and primal bliss on their 2017 self-titled debut for Warner Bros. Records. Since forming in 2011, the trio has packed multiple headline tours across Australia, released two successful independent EPs, Dalliance [2014] and Nostalgia [2015], and spawned a viral single with “Friends” which garnered over 2.7 million Spotify plays. Now, their first single “Church” invites everyone to congregate in their world.

BUDDY | 5:40 – 6:20pm

While he hails from the hip-hop-heavy streets of Compton, CA, Buddy (a.k.a. Simmie Sims III) is devoted to a message of positivity. Initially signed by Pharrell and tapped for collaborations with Kendrick Lamar and Chance the Rapper, Buddy’s restless muse demanded that he pursue his own path, paving the way for his full-length album, Harlan & Alondra, a lush mix of retro R&B, chilled-out rap and jam-heavy funk, featuring cameos from A$AP Ferg and Ty Dolla Sign. “It’s beautiful day music,” says Buddy of his optimistic debut.

R.LUM.R | 6:50 – 7:30pm

Broadly praised by outlets like NPR Music, The New York Times, Complex, Vibe, Billboard and Rolling Stone (who called him “an artist you need to know”), R. LUM. R, also known as Reginald Lamar Williams, Jr., is an ascendant R&B singer/songwriter creating warm, soulful music that is resonating with listeners. Romanced and inspired by the city’s song-storytelling tradition, R.LUM.R has settled in Nashville, where he’s been steadily building a following with his acoustic guitar, piercing falsetto and original songs. On his debut EP, After Image, all six tracks were recorded live in single takes, augmented by a string quartet. Asked to describe his music, he says “it’s ‘R&B/singer-songwriter/soul/electronic, but,” he adds, “I don’t want to limit myself.”
