Rising pop-punk trio Meet Me @ The Altar have announced their major label debut EP, Model Citizen. The news is heralded by the release of anthemic single Feel A Thing, which is available now on all streaming platforms. The group, whose name was inspired by a mutual love for Mortal Kombat, has their skills put to the test in the track’s official video, which finds them fighting their way out of an arcade game. The Model Citizen EP arrives August 13th via Fueled By Ramen.

“We are SO incredibly excited about Model Citizen being our first major release on Fueled By Ramen, these are absolutely our best songs to date, the band shared. Model Citizen was originally a different set of songs, but we decided to throw it all out just days before the EP was due because we knew we could write a more cohesive story with lots of energy. With a heavy easy core influence, we hope Model Citizen knocks everyone out of their seats!”

This summer, Meet Me @ The Altar will embark on a massive U.S. tour supporting Coheed and Cambria & The Used and appear at Riot Fest in Chicago. In the fall, they will return to the road with labelmates All Time Low and nothing, nowhere. for a tour of North America. A complete list of upcoming live dates can be found HERE.

Meet Me @ The Altar announced their Fueled By Ramen signing last October in an exclusive interview with Billboard and unleashed their critically acclaimed major label debut single Garden. The song’s vibrant music video premiered on The FADER, and Garden graced best songs of 2020 lists by NPR Music, The FADER, Refinery 29, and more. Earlier this year, the band debuted the powerful single, Hit Like A Girl in partnership with Facebook’s Women’s History Month campaign. Meet Me @ The Altar has already been named an artist to watch in 2021 by Rolling Stone, NYLONand more.

Crossing state lines and breaking all kinds of boundaries, the group’s members Edith Johnson [vocals], Téa Campbell [guitar], and Ada Juarez [drums] initially met online, bonding over the likes of Paramore and Twenty One Pilots and agreeing on a need for more representation in pop punk. Instead of waiting for somebody else to do it, they stepped up and became that representation as three proud women of color playing lightning-fast riffs, pounding out double kicks, and chanting huge hooks.

Stay tuned for more new music from Meet Me @ The Altar soon.

ABOUT MEET ME @ THE ALTAR:

Meet Me @ The Altar present a new musical and cultural paradigm for pop punk. The Florida trio Edith Johnson [vocals], Téa Campbell [guitar], and Ada Juarez [drums]ߞcertainly rip just as hard as the forbearers who inspired them, but the group also speak from a position rarely, if ever, heard in the genre as proud women of color. With Ada from New Jersey, Téa from Florida, and Edith from Georgia, the three-piece would meet in the Sunshine State and practice for hours nonstop just before gigs, morphing into a formidable force on stage. Booking their own tours, the band canvassed the country to promote their debut Changing States EP in 2018. Dozens of shows endeared them to a growing audience as they continued recording. MM@TA’s independent releases drew admiration from Halsey and All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth and landed them a deal with their dream record label Fueled By Ramen. In 2020, the band released their major label debut single Garden, and followed up with Hit Like A Girl this spring, earning praise from Rolling StoneBillboardThe FADERNPR MusicNYLON, and more.

Sum 41 x Catching Fire

Sum 41 has dropped a reimagined version of their previously released track “Catching Fire” featuring nothing, nowhere. Deryck Whibley wrote this ballad for his wife, Ari Whibley, after her suicide attempt and they are& talking about it for the first time ever in hopes to raise awareness during Mental Health Awareness Month.

Sum 41 fans from all over the world collectively submitted their stories of loss seen in the beautifully shot black and white video for “Catching Fire.” The vision behind the powerful video-turned-memorial is to shine light on suicide prevention and help tackle the stigma behind mental health head on. The video was directed by John Asher, who previously directed Sum 41’s music video for “Never There.”

On the new single, Whibley shares “Writing this song was cathartic for me in dealing with my emotions for the first time about almost losing my wife to suicide. When I first played it for her, it was the beginning of us having an open conversation about what she went through. In sharing her story, we are hoping to let others know they are not alone and that if you need help, there is no shame in saying so.”

Featured artist nothing, nowhere. continues, “As someone who has had to deal with mental illness throughout my life – it was a no brainer when Deryck approached me to get on this song. I think it’s important to let those close to you know that you love them and that you are there for them unconditionally. I’m a lifelong sum 41 fan and I’m honored to be a part of something like this.”

Fans can stream “Catching Fire” now and check out the music video here: smarturl.it/Sum41CFVideo

Armed with the most honest and intimate songs of his career, Whibley poured everything he had into Order In Decline. Producing, engineering, and mixing the album in his home studio, he painstakingly crafted and fine-tuned each song, highlighted by fast and full riffs, guitar solos from lead guitarist/backing vocalist Dave Brownsound, harmonious chords from guitarist Tom Thacker and the heavy, heart-thumping rhythm section of bassist/backing vocalist Cone McCaslin and drummer Frank Zummo. Looking back at the band’s storied 23+ year career, Order In Decline is undoubtedly Sum 41’s heaviest and most aggressive album to date, while also being their most dynamic and raw.

Order In Decline is available now at http://smarturl.it/OrderInDecline.

After over 15 million records sold worldwide, a Grammy Award nomination, 2 Juno Awards (7 nominations), Kerrang! Award in 2002, as well as multiple Alternative Press Music Awards, Sum 41 is quite simply a rock band uncompromising and honest with no intention of slowing down.

Duckwrth – Coming Closer

Critically acclaimed Los Angeles rapper Duckwrth releases his new track “Coming Closer” feat. G.L.A.M. and Juliana Romana today.

Listen to “Coming Closer” feat. G.L.A.M. and Juliana Romana HERE.

On the track, which is produced by LA based twins Two Fresh and G.L.A.M., Duckwrth once again instigates unpredictable and unprecedented genre alchemy. He threads together bouncy rhymes while G.L.A.M. fires back with a seductive counterpoint as their bars come together before the dancefloor-ready hook sung by Juliana Romana. This anthem glides between hip-hop and electronic only to border on unexpected pop bliss.

“Coming Closer” arrives hot on the heels of his buzzing feel-good anthem “Find A Way” feat. Alex Mali, Radio Ahlee, & Bayli. HipHopDX praised its “melodic message of perseverance,” and Brooklyn Vegan described it as “powerful.” HYPEBEAST wrote, “The single serves as an uplifting anthem during these troubling times, featuring lyrics that showcase the artist’s ability to reminisce about the past and see a way forward.” Earmilk put it best, “The single plays as a welcome beam of light during a dark time.”

Over the last five years, LA-based wunderkind Duckwrth has quickly risen up the ranks as a promising star of the future of music. His collection of critically acclaimed projects including Nowhere (2015,) I’m Uugly (2016), Xtra Uugly (2017) and The Falling Man EP (2019), have transcended streaming platforms and landed in films, TV series, and brand ad campaigns and have received critical acclaim from a vast amount of outlets including NPR, The FADER, Complex, XXL and more. This cumulation has led the rapper to become an international touring staple, headlining shows globally and performing at Austin City Limits and opening for superstars Billie Eilish and Anderson .Paak. Duckwrth’s music has appeared on shows like CW’s All American, HBO’s Insecure and Real Time with Bill Maher and his song “Start A Riot” was featured on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack. His music has appeared in campaigns for the likes of Cadillac, Microsoft, Peloton, Amazon and Apple Music, and he’s worked with fashion legacies like Levi’s, Vans and Fila, as well as high fashion men’s suit designer Paul Smith.

Day Two of Lollapalooza

The BMI Stage at Lollapalooza rocks on for day two of the famous festival. From pop and rock to hip-hop and EDM, the BMI Stage has a little something for everyone. Post-punk/rock band Mainland hits the stage first, followed by hip-hop blending emo rocker nothing, nowhere. Infamous trio CKY are prepared to show how far they’ve come since their days on the hit TV-series Jackass and Australian exports Chase Atlantic will keep the music pumping with their alt-pop vibes. Rising rap star, Buddy, will hit the stage next with a high energy set before R.LUM.R rounds out the performances with his signature smooth soul grooves.

BMI STAGE SCHEDULE – FRIDAY, AUGUST 3rd

MAINLAND | 1:00-1:40pm

Finding elegance in simplicity, California-via-Brooklyn band Mainland play a passionate blend of powerful rock rife with soaring choruses and chiming hooks that recalls garage-y New York City bands from the turn of the millennium. After independently releasing their Shiner EP in 2014, they landed a deal with 300 Entertainment as one of the label’s marquee acts. Following the release of the Outcast EP a year later, they dropped fan-favorite singles such as “Beggars” and “Permission Slip” – which both amassed over 1 million Spotify streams each. Between touring, the musicians recorded the songs comprising their 2018 full-length debut, led by the single “I Found God,” about the spiritual connection that arises when you experience real love communicated through sounds and visuals.

nothing,nowhere.2:10 – 2:50pm

The enigmatic guise of Vermont singer/songwriter Joe Mulherin, nothing, nowhere. plays an introspective blend of hip-hop and guitar-driven emo rock. While he continually hides his face in videos and promotional photographs, Mulherin’s lyrics pull out all stops in baring his soul. His most recent album, Ruiner, is an emotive exercise in catchy catharsis.

CKY | 3:20 – 4:00pm

Notorious in the 2000’s for their raucous sound and anarchic, hard-partying skate-punk aesthetic both onstage and off, Pennsylvania’s CKY are back with 2017’s The Phoenix, their first new album in eight years. While not necessarily a kinder, gentler ensemble, the CKY of 2018 is comprised of grown men who are feverishly devoted to delivering rock from its pretentious doldrums and serving up their music in as raw and authentic a manner as possible

CHASE ATLANTIC | 4:30 – 5:10pm

Chase Atlantic was formed by brothers, Mitchel Cave and Clinton Cave, and their longtime friend, Christian Anthony. The trio produces, performs, and passionately conjures up dark alternative pop punctuated by rock and R&B. This Australian group blurs the lines between a nocturnal aesthetic and primal bliss on their 2017 self-titled debut for Warner Bros. Records. Since forming in 2011, the trio has packed multiple headline tours across Australia, released two successful independent EPs, Dalliance [2014] and Nostalgia [2015], and spawned a viral single with “Friends” which garnered over 2.7 million Spotify plays. Now, their first single “Church” invites everyone to congregate in their world.

BUDDY | 5:40 – 6:20pm

While he hails from the hip-hop-heavy streets of Compton, CA, Buddy (a.k.a. Simmie Sims III) is devoted to a message of positivity. Initially signed by Pharrell and tapped for collaborations with Kendrick Lamar and Chance the Rapper, Buddy’s restless muse demanded that he pursue his own path, paving the way for his full-length album, Harlan & Alondra, a lush mix of retro R&B, chilled-out rap and jam-heavy funk, featuring cameos from A$AP Ferg and Ty Dolla Sign. “It’s beautiful day music,” says Buddy of his optimistic debut.

R.LUM.R | 6:50 – 7:30pm

Broadly praised by outlets like NPR Music, The New York Times, Complex, Vibe, Billboard and Rolling Stone (who called him “an artist you need to know”), R. LUM. R, also known as Reginald Lamar Williams, Jr., is an ascendant R&B singer/songwriter creating warm, soulful music that is resonating with listeners. Romanced and inspired by the city’s song-storytelling tradition, R.LUM.R has settled in Nashville, where he’s been steadily building a following with his acoustic guitar, piercing falsetto and original songs. On his debut EP, After Image, all six tracks were recorded live in single takes, augmented by a string quartet. Asked to describe his music, he says “it’s ‘R&B/singer-songwriter/soul/electronic, but,” he adds, “I don’t want to limit myself.”
