Nick Cannon Anti-Semitic Comments

ViacomCBS has fired TV personality Nick Cannon after decades of partnership following anti-Semitic remarks that he made on his podcast, Cannon Class. The episode, allegedly filmed last year, featured Professor Griff, ex-member of the rap group Public Enemy who had been kicked out in 1989 over anti-Semitic comments before rejoining. The two discussed Jewish dominance in media and that they have robbed the identity of the original Hebrew people, who are black.

“You can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people,” he said on the show, agreeing with Professor Griff. He even went as far to suggest that “The people that don’t have [melanin] are a little less,” and that “They had to be savages” (referring to Jewish, white, and European people.

Cannon has faced ample backlash from the conversation, and he apologized afterward, asserting that “I do not condone hate speech nor the spread of hateful rhetoric,” in one of many tweets. However, when ViacomCBS cut ties with him, he defended himself in another lengthy Facebook post, saying “I will not be bullied, silenced, or continuously oppressed by any organization, group, or corporation.”

He condemned ViacomCBS and demanded full ownership of his MTV show Wild N’ Out Cannon will keep his stint as host of “The Masked Singer”, but a planned talk show will be on hold until next year, according to a statement from Lionsgate and Debmar Murray today. He also personally announced that he will take a hiatus from his LA radio show Nick Cannon Mornings for a period of personal reflection.

Alec King – Weekends

Buzzing Los Angeles-based artist Alec King releases his new video “Weekends” today via The Heavy Group/Republic Records.

Who doesn’t like dogs? Alec King’s latest video pulls at our heartstrings as he chills under a tree in a dog park (socially distancing, of course). Between leafing through a diary, Alec plays with various pups—some of whom remain six feet away from him. The scene underscores confessional rhymes and a catchy chorus, reflecting on the boredom of the moment and trying to get over a breakup.

“Weekends” follows the video release of “Way Up” and his song “Dangerous,” which received heavy radio support in his hometown of Denver and 2 million streams in a few months. At the end of last year, Alec King went on his debut US tour with diva on the rise Kiana Ledé. He performed to sold-out venues, including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Washington DC and more, winning the crowd over with his infectious charm, incredible stage presence, and catchy songs.

Is there any line this guy won’t cross? Alec King is the kind of dude who rips bars about Wisconsin and god-awful ex-girlfriends with the same passion. He considers Curb Your Enthusiasm his “Torah.” He jumps into bathtubs with Porn Stars in music videos that he directs himself. He even went so far as to name his official debut EP, Greatest Hits, Vol. 1, and its successor, Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 (he backed up the latter with some heat). On the ‘gram, you’re just as likely to catch him in the shower as you are to catch him coloring with sidewalk chalk. This sort of personality endeared him to fans and peers alike. Posting up 10 million-plus streams under-the-radar and attracting acclaim from Dancing Astronaut, he has collaborated with legends such as Biz Markie and modern stars a la Rich The Kid and Kiana Ledé. Not to mention, he did all of this D.I.Y. primarily relying on an in-house team. In 2020, he floods the game with a series of singles and more surprises.

Blindspotting

Republic Records and global content leader Lionsgate have released the video for “Easy Come, Easy Go”, a track from the official soundtrack for the critically-acclaimed feature film Blindspotting from Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment label. The soundtrack is being released in three installments with the first, The Collin EP, available at all digital retailers now, while the second and third releases, The Miles EP and The Town EP are coming soon. RELEASE OF “BLINDSPOTTING” SOUNDTRACK

Starz Releases Three New Images from “Ash vs Evil Dead” Season Three

Today at New York Comic Con, Starz premiered episode 301 of original series “Ash vs Evil Dead” to a crowd of 2,200 at the Hammerstein Ballroom. “Family,” written by showrunner Mark Verheiden and directed by Mark Beesley finds that Ash has gone from zero to hero in Elk Grove! With evil defeated and humanity saved, there was only one thing left to do: open a hardware store. His peace is short lived when evil returns with a new target close to his heart.
 
The surprise screening was followed by the previously announced “Ash vs Evil Dead” panel, moderated by Entertainment Editor, Terri Schwartz. Panelists included: Bruce Campbell (executive producer, star), Ray Santiago (Pablo Simon Bolivar), Dana DeLorenzo (Kelly Maxwell), along with newcomers Arielle Carver-O’Neill (Brandy Barr) and Lindsay Farris (Dalton – a Knight of Sumeria).

Starz also released three new images from “Ash vs Evil Dead” Season Three featuring a variety of scenes from the new season including Lucy Lawless as Ruby in a new look, Arielle Carver-O’Neill as Brandy Barr, Ash’s long lost daughter, as well as a group shot with Ray Santiago (Pablo) and Dana DeLorenzo (Kelly).
 
About “Ash vs Evil Dead” Season Three
“Ash vs Evil Dead,” a 10-episode half-hour series, is the highly acclaimed follow-up to the classic horror film, The Evil Dead.  

 
The third season finds Ash, having gone from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero, discovering that he has a long lost daughter who’s been entrusted in his care. When Kelly witnesses a televised massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returns with a new friend to warn Ash and Pablo that evil isn’t done with them yet. GapKids Back to School Season

GapKids is celebrating kids returning to the classroom with the “Forward with” campaign and short film series by highlighting the people who help shape kids’ futures. In partnership with global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), the final short in the series, ‘Forward with Kindness,’ is inspired by the studio’s eagerly anticipated feature film Wonder, and features star Jacob Tremblay and R.J. Palacio, author of the New York Times best seller from which the motion picture was adapted.

The GapKids ‘Forward with’ campaign is a celebration of progress. It’s about extending the idea of “dressing” beyond clothing to the traits and behaviors that will lead to kids’ success. It’s about preparing kids to advance their passions by giving them the confidence, encouragement, and support they need to go forward, and it’s about calling out some amazing parents, teachers and mentors who take the time every day to dress kids with courage, kindness and possibility.

“When you think about it, kids don’t actually go back to school, they go forward in their life,” said Gap chief marketing officer Craig Brommers. “The real-life stories that we are sharing through the video series are emotional, they are optimistic, and they are what Gap is all about.”

The campaign consists of four short films, each highlighting people who are helping advance children through positive reinforcements outside the traditional educational curriculum.

  • ‘Forward with Confidence’ features third grade teacher Jasmyn Wright who believes her students can be anything that they put their minds to and uses mantras to help build their confidence and equip them with the skills to approach any challenge with a positive mindset.
  • ‘Forward with Focus’ highlights meditation mentor Andres Gonzalez who has been breathing love and self-awareness into underserved communities as co-founder of the Holistic Life Foundation, a Baltimore based nonprofit organization committed to nurturing the wellness of children through yoga, mindfulness and self-care.
  • ‘Forward with Creativity’ puts the spotlight on art instructor Sasha Sicurella who encourages self-expression through art as the founding director of the I AM: International Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works globally to provide opportunities for children to explore their identity through art and self portrait photography.
  • ‘Forward with Kindness’ stars actor Jacob Tremblay, who plays Auggie Pullman in Lionsgate’s Wonder, and New York Times bestselling author R.J. Palacio. Wonder tells the heartwarming story of Auggie Pullman, a boy born with facial differences who can’t blend in because he was born to stand out, and teaches a classroom and community to move forward with kindness. In addition to the short film series, GapKids is taking part in Lionsgate’s #ChooseKind movement leading up to the Wonder release in November.

Lionsgate, co-producer Walden Media, Random House Children’s Books, and GapKids are bringing the #ChooseKind movement to classrooms through the “Wonder Certified Kind Classroom” initiative, an educational program that focuses on teaching acts of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to third through sixth grade students.

Part of this initiative includes the GapKids #ChooseKind T-Shirt Design Contest, where students will be challenged to create a visualization of what kindness and inclusion mean to them as a design activity. Eight winning designs will be produced and sold in select U.S. GapKids stores and Gap.com starting on November 13, World Kindness Day. All profits will benefit myFace and Children’s Craniofacial Association, two non-profit organizations dedicated to supporting children with craniofacial differences.

Lastly, 400 participating classrooms will be eligible for GapKids-sponsored private Wonder screenings featuring a Facebook Q&A with select cast from the film.
