Reducing Side Effects from Cannabis with a Smartphone App

Have you ever experienced side effects from cannabis? Common cannabis side effects include paranoia, dizziness, red eyes, cottonmouth, and more. In this article, we will discuss side effects from cannabis and explore how you can use the Jointly app to mitigate or eliminate them.

Purposefully Consume Cannabis to Eliminate Side Effects

Weed is about more than getting high. For example, have you ever used cannabis to help you sleep at night? What about to stimulate your appetite?

The cannabis plant produces a variety of compounds that you can help you achieve your wellness goals. Whether you want to sleep better, eat more, replace other substances, melt into your couch at the end of a long day, or energize and uplift your mind, there is a cannabis product that is perfect for that goal. And the Jointly app can help you find it.

Jointly is a new cannabis wellness app that helps people discover purposeful cannabis consumption so they can achieve their wellness goals with cannabis and CBD. On the Jointly app, you can find new cannabis products, rate products based on how well they helped you achieve your goals, and track and optimize your cannabis consumption so that you can enjoy your ideal experience every time.

To enjoy your ideal experience every time, you need to figure out how to eliminate or mitigate adverse side effects from cannabis.

How the Jointly App Improves Your Cannabis Experience

Have you ever noticed that the same cannabis product can produce different effects (or side effects) from one day to the next? Or that a weed strain that consistently stimulates your mind has a sedating effect on your friend? How is it possible that the same product has such varied effects?

Cannabis experts believe that there are at least 15 factors that can impact your cannabis experience. These factors include your dose, your hydration level, how much sleep you got the night before, whether you are alone or with friends, whether you are using cannabis in the morning or at night, and more.

When you track your cannabis consumption on the Jointly app, you can report on these 15 factors to determine how each factor impacts your experience. Over time, the Jointly app will use your reports to make suggestions that will help you get more consistent results and eliminate adverse side effects from cannabis.

How Does the Jointly App Help You Eliminate Marijuana Side Effects?

Cannabis can help you sleep better, eat more, relax after a long day at work, stimulate and uplift your mind, enhance your creativity and focus, and reduce mild daily stress. Purposeful cannabis consumption is a highly effective wellness tool that can help people improve their health and wellbeing.

However, some people might experience adverse side effects when using cannabis to achieve their wellness goals. The Jointly app can help you mitigate these side effects by teaching you how to turn the dials on the 15 factors that can impact your cannabis experience.

For example, perhaps you will notice that when you consume cannabis after a night of poor sleep, you are more likely to experience anxiety and paranoia from weed. Or you may find that when you exercise before, during, or after consuming cannabis, you don’t experience any disorientation or coordination issues from weed.

Does Smoking Weed Have Side Effects? Do Edibles Have Side Effects?

Most marijuana side effects are caused by THC. So, any cannabis product that contains THC may cause these side effects.

However, different weed ingestion methods have different pharmacokinetics, meaning that different ingestion methods can produce distinct effects and side effects, and even objective measures like levels of THC in the blood.

When you eat an edible, you digest it. As a result, the THC goes through first-pass metabolism in your liver, where it is converted into a more potent compound: 11-OH-THC. This metabolite has greater and longer-lasting psychoactive effects, which may cause you to experience greater or longer lasting side effects.

In short, different ingestion methods may produce different side effects, but any product with THC has the potential to cause adverse side effects for some individuals. You should choose the ingestion method that is best suited for your wellness goals.

Does CBD Have Side Effects?

While the side effects of CBD are much milder than marijuana side effects, there are still some potential side effects to watch out for. Some people have reported experiencing gastrointestinal distress, dry mouth, reduced appetite, drowsiness, and fatigue after using CBD.

How to Mitigate Side Effects from Cannabis

Here are some general suggestions on how to mitigate side effects from cannabis, and then we will explore some specific suggestions about how to fix cottonmouth.

Try a new product

Different cannabis products will contain different chemical compounds like cannabinoids and terpenes, which may exert distinct effects. Use Jointly’s Product Finder to discover new top-rated products.

Try a new ingestion method

Additionally, the way you ingest a product will change how it affects you. Smoking a joint of cannabis flower may produce slightly different effects from vaporizing it, although both ingestion methods involve heating cannabis and inhaling the active compounds.

Each ingestion method has its own advantages and may produce different effects or side effects. To learn how different weed ingestion methods produce different effects, read our article The Best Way to Take Cannabis for Wellness Purposes.

Add in a companion food

Did you know that weed companion foods can enhance your cannabis experience in different ways? Mangoes, dark chocolate, green tea, and thyme are all weed companion foods. Chemical compounds in these foods may alter your cannabis experience, and potentially mitigate adverse side effects like drowsiness.

To learn about these foods and how to add them into your cannabis wellness routine, check out our article Do These Foods Get You Higher?

Find your minimum effective dose

Most adverse side effects from cannabis are caused by ingesting too high of a dose of THC. While you cannot die from ingesting too much cannabis, a THC overdose is a real risk. The single most effective way to mitigate side effects is to microdose and titrate up your dose until you find the minimum effective dose of cannabis to get the effect you want.

Turn the dials on 15 factors

According to cannabis experts, there are at least 15 factors that can impact your cannabis experience and play a major role in whether a cannabis product is giving you the feeling you want, or producing adverse side effects like cottonmouth. These 15 factors include your dose, the time of day you ingest, how much sleep you got the night before, and more.

The Jointly app lets you to track the 15 factors that can impact your cannabis experience. As you optimize how you consume cannabis, your favorite cannabis products will perform better for you.

Maryam Henein – Q×A

Here at 360 Magazine, we were lucky enough to be able to speak with acclaimed journalist and activist Maryam Henein. We got to speak with her about her controversial and brave ongoing investigations as well as her work with her company HoneyColony. Read the entire conversation below.

So, you have a reputation as the most censored woman, even more censored than Laura Loomer, what aspects of your investigations and reports do you think have led to this?

I started feeling the wrath of technofascism, which is a term that I’ve popularized, as early as 2017, and in this case, it was in regard to selling CBD before mostly being on the front lines. Now today, everyone and their mother sells CBD, but back then it was novel. I started feeling censored for sharing information on the health benefits of CBD. Initially, we got shut down several times by different merchant processors, including PayPal, Stripe, and QuickBooks. My first ban was PayPal back in 2018. Then as I started doing investigations into the politics of CBD, I experienced even more censorship. I was a victim of Google’s ‘Medic Update’ and my website, HoneyColony was buried. Then I started doing research into Google and I was already covering vaccine safety, which is not a topic that the mainstream embraces. I discovered that Google is basically a drug company. And I went and reached out to Google whistleblower Zach Vorhies when I came upon his disclosure. As a result of Google’s algorithmic changes, we lost 67% of our traffic on HoneyColony. I was getting 500,000 unique visitors a month on our magazine and that all went to hell. And then slowly, as I started covering the Coronavirus, given that medical freedom and health are my beats, I got censored even more for peddling supposed “medical misinformation” because YouTube takes its directives from the World Health Organization, a.k.a “China.” I started covering politics and today I’m shadow banned on Twitter. I’m on my second strike on my second YouTube channel and banned from PayPal, Kiva, and GoFundMe. Square booted me the day of the “Deadly Insurrection.” I was a part of their CBD beta program and had signed an NDA, and for absolutely no reason, we lost our account. We went four months without being able to generate money. I soon learned that Dorsey owned Square up until a few months ago. So, I have been digitally assassinated, or they’ve tried to digitally assassinate my voice and my work. Back in 2017, I was telling people, Roseanne Barr today, you tomorrow. Well, here we are.

The topics of your stories have a wide range of backgrounds, from police brutality to animal extinction. It is obvious these issues are near to your heart. What inspires you to move on to a new and wildly different topic or area?

Just to set the record straight. I’m not really looking at police brutality, per se, that’s a subtopic of this multilayered psycho that I call George Floyd. Sometimes I cover stories by accident. I caught a lie by CNN or a kind of lie rather than by the mainstream media and I was driven to learn the truth. I am driven to show people how the mainstream media lies and deceives and doesn’t give a shit about details or accuracy. As far as the bees, they flew into my life and kind of stuck. Pun intended. Bees are wonderful teachers, they feed us, and they are working for the greater good. So, I am not sure what triggers my interest other than injustice, or something that I see will impact people on a global scale and it’s very hard to decipher fact from fiction. So, one has to be discerning and there’s a lot of corruption out there from actual journalists that are supposed to share the news with you. So, I’m an eclectic person, a lot of interests, I’m an intellectual. And I’ve also really dedicated many years of my life to empowering people to be their own best health advocate, having suffered from a chronic illness. Consider that today more and more information regarding health and wellness is buried.

Your film, Vanishing of the Bees was a massive success, what inspired you to convert your journalism into film?

At that point, I was already working on independent projects of many kinds as a researcher and a producer, I wanted to make my own project and I decided. George Langworthy and I decided to collaborate and then the bees flew into our lives, and I had just recovered from a near-death experience where I was given a second chance and I wanted to cover something that is pertaining to all of us because we all eat, and we all take bees for granted. I wanted to give back and be in service to make the most out of my life.

Your current cases and investigation on the George Floyd case, what inspired you to research and investigate on your own?

As I mentioned earlier that kind of accidentally fell into the story when Zach Vorhies, the Google whistleblower, asked me about a year ago in Costa Rica, while we were under lockdown to recreate the George Floyd kneeling on his neck. So, he asked me to put my knee on his neck. And I asked, who’s George Floyd?  I don’t think anyone’s going to ever ask that question again and I interviewed the medical examiner’s office because I said, if you really want to look at how he died, let’s look at the death certificate autopsy report. I was told that it would take weeks and weeks, and I found another local publication that had said the same thing. Then, the next thing I saw was CNN had put out this preliminary report. So, they were trying to sow discord in the narrative. Soon, we had this tale of two autopsies that emerged and with Benjamin Crump and Michael Baden on the scene, which raised some suspicions that I was collecting. I just didn’t tap out of the story, and I was covering it. The different hearings and such and keeping a close eye. Then I decided, well, I’m probably suited to write the most comprehensive book out there because I’ve looked under lots of rocks, and I’m very detail oriented. So, I will have a lot of very interesting factual tidbits to offer people to show what really happened, and not what the mainstream wanted you to see, and what the corrupt government officials wanted you to see by sitting on the camera, body worn camera for four months.

What do you think is the biggest misconception about the George Floyd case? And what is the source of that misinformation?

The sources, definitely the mainstream media and the government officials behind the narrative and their objectives, whether it’s to defund the police, to destabilize America, to give the illusion that there’s systemic racism across the country. So, the biggest misconception, which is not really a misconception, because Keith Ellison, after all of this, went on 60 minutes and stated that this had nothing to do with race. This case has nothing to do with race. And that’s how it was painted. And while it could have characteristics of police brutality, it had nothing to do with race. And then you have the Attorney General. He also puts this emphasis on the many talking points that I discovered or that are obvious, but he believes in what you see with your eyes. Well, that’s a crock of shit, hello, movie magic, hello, eyes can deceive you. So many things are happening behind the surface. And that’s part used to trick human beings and to have them make decisions based on a lack of proper information and emotion. If you don’t have all the information your perception is skewed and you’re not able to make a proper conclusion or decision. So just really like many multi layered SOPs are just great examples of the lies, whether you want to call it the deep state or the mainstream media, which is the deep state bitch. They work hand in hand to deceive the people.

We know you got to speak with medical examiners to the 911 transcriptsand other information concerning the police department’s handling of the case, what were you able to find? And what was the most shocking piece of evidence you can speak on?

Well, I’m still gathering, still conducting investigations. So right now, I’ve uncovered a cover up. I’m not quite sure what the cover entails if it entails an informant. Clearly, someone I’m trying to speak to is gatekeeping the story and I’ve found some lies. I’ve done 911 calls. Well, there’s three, one from the store and two of the bystanders to the bystanders. Those were released and featured in the trial, but the main call has not been released. And in Minnesota, there’s a statute that only the caller can release the call. So, what is the prosecution asked for those bystanders to release the call, not the call from cut foods. I know who made the call. I know who identified the people in the store. And I’ll leave it at that for now. I have also obtained the death certificate. Just basically showing that George Floyd died of a heart attack while being restrained not because of being restrained. That one word has a big impact and can be debated emotionally and viciously. Probably I’d like to just pose well would have George Floyd died if he had not gathered lots of drugs. In that position now, Derek apparently had his knee on the neck of a team for 17 minutes and not much smaller child person survived. George Floyd was at least six foot four, 230 pounds. It took for three people to restrain him. So, would he have died? Without the drugs? Would he have died without the knee on the neck? Maybe not. So that was interesting to see what the death certificate is. I’m, I’m still trying to obtain some other records. I’ve just obtained the actual archival exhibits pretrial exhibits, so it’s much clearer and I’m putting together a short documentary.

What significance did the George Ford case have on you personally and your brand HoneyColony?

It has no impact on my brand HoneyColony. As far as on me it’s been very revealing to see how information in this day and age is scrubbed by the Ministry of Truth and if you’re not there, covering it, and paying attention to the details, you will probably be a victim of what I call narrative supremacy, and you’ll probably be bamboozled. I’ve seen people who are well versed in this case, repeat a slight of numbers. For instance, George Floyd was arrested for aggravated robbery. The tale says the woman was pregnant, but the actual court document that I’ve read does not saying anywhere that she was pregnant. So, I don’t know where that piece of the puzzle or sorry that that detail started. But you have to be very, very detail oriented and specific. So, it’s, it’s taught me more than more than ever reminded me how the media lies, and how you have to be paying attention and really look at details because they should matter.

What did you learn about George Floyd’s life that you think more people should know about?

Well, George Floyd isn’t innocent and that doesn’t justify his death. But George Floyd was a career criminal, he spent the last 20 years of his life in and out of jail, and he was, according to some, bad news. He has appeared in at least one porno; he’s pretended to be a part of the water department and dressed in costume to help carry out this robbery. And so, we know that he can kind of act, play act and take on different personas if need be. So, let’s just keep that in the back of our minds. I do believe he was not an evil, or rather, you know, I think Lester, his friend, was a much bigger stand back. So, he certainly apparently was meant to change America, as one person stated. I don’t know what that means, but he was not supposed to die, and he was supposed to change. So do what you will with those phrases right now.

What was the most difficult part in gaining sources and information about George Floyd’s life and death?

Well, it’s still currently difficult. I’m still under undertaking an investigation. And the hardest thing is people who can talk on behalf of Derek Chauvin. Nobody wants to say anything because they might wake up with a pig’s head on their doorstep. I’m not able to find any family members, very weird. So that’s been a challenge, contacting people from the force. I mean, I haven’t started trying to reach people on George Floyd’s side. I can tell you, for instance, I didn’t have any luck getting the initial second autopsy, independent from Michael Baden and Alicia Wilson. So where is that actual report? Was it just a verbal press release? He’s just the Hollywood medical examiner? Why wasn’t his autopsy even used in the trial of Derek Chauvin? Okay, sorry, I’ll just add that a lot of information has disappeared. I’ve been able to catch some of it because I was doing it in real time and when this first happened, but now it’s not like who owned that SUV Mercedes Benz. It’s not George. And you can’t find who the owner is. Although I do have a name. But yeah, so basically just information scrubbed, addresses. Very interesting that George lives in Texas at 3333. There’s a lot of three threes in this story. And six sixes.

The Murder of Fort Hood Soldier, Vanessa Guillen

By Emmet McGeown

“How can this happen on a military base? How can this happen while she was on duty? How can this just happen and then let it go under the rug like it was nothing?” These were the words of Mayra Guillen, sister of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen, who has been missing for months and is now confirmed dead.

On April 22nd, Pfc. Vanessa Guillen, a 20-year-old Hispanic Small Arms and Artillery Repairer, went missing. She was last seen alive at a parking lot at squadron headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas. For months, Pfc. Guillen’s family held out hope that their beloved was still alive, yet the discovery of remains near the Leon River, north of Austin, has vanquished that hope. While the FBI is still awaiting a positive DNA analysis, the family believes that the remains belong to Vanessa.

Yet, this story does not begin with her disappearance nor does it end with her death. Prior to her vanishing, Pfc. Guillen, according to her sisters, was having difficulties with sexual harassment while stationed at Fort Hood, outside Killeen, Texas. The attorney representing the family in the case revealed that Guillen had confided to her sisters and several other soldiers that a superior had walked in on her while taking a shower and that he proceeded to sit down and watch her. Other relatives and Pfc. Guillen’s boyfriend have noted on social media that something is “not right” and that Vanessa felt unsafe at the military base.

However, during a press conference on Thursday, July 2nd, senior special agent for the Fort Hood Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID), Damon Phelps, reported that there was no evidence backing the claim that she had been sexually harassed. He affirmed that “there has been no information — and we have interviewed hundreds of people… There is no credible information about that.” Despite this rebut by CID, family attorney, Natalie Khawam said, in an interview with PEOPLE, that she believes Pfc. Guillens was sexually harassed by Spc. Aaron David Robinson.

Spc. Robinson was the leading suspect in Vanessa Guillen’s disappearance, and as authorities caught up with him on Tuesday evening, he shot himself. It has since been revealed that Robinson was, in fact, responsible for the murder of Pfc. Guillen’s. Guillen’s was bludgeoned to death with a hammer in the armory where she worked, according to the family’s attorney. They made this discovery through an extensive investigation, in which witnesses divulged that they saw Robinson transporting a large box labelled “very heavy in weight.”

Then, after consenting to an examination of his cellphone records, court documents reveal, it was discovered that Robinson made several phone-calls to his girlfriend Cecily Aguilar on the night of Apri 22nd and into the early hours of the April 23rd. After being interviewed multiple times, Aguilar finally told investigators that her boyfriend had murdered Guillen. She also revealed how she and her boyfriend had met up and dismembered Guillen’s body together with a “hatchet or machete type knife” and, after attempting to set her corpse on fire, buried Guillen’s body parts in three different holes. Texas Rangers have since arrested Aguilar and she now faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

The issue of sexual harassment within the Army remains a problem in this case, given that Guillen’s family, according to their attorney, claimed that Vanessa was planning on reporting Robinson the day after she was murdered, and had delayed over fear of reprisal and inaction. Yet the Army says there exists no credible evidence that she was sexually harassed before her disappearance, and in a statement from the Fort Hood Press Center, officials said that the criminal investigation “has not found any connection between sexual harassment and Vanessa’s disappearance.” They plan to continue their investigation in light of new revelations.

Lupe Guillen, another sister of Vanessa’s, told NPR that her sister wanted to be in the military since she was a little girl, “she wanted to be a fighter. She wanted to be a hero. She wanted to be someone in life. … The military failed her.

The family is now pushing for legislation to create an independent agency for soldiers who are victims of sexual harassment and assault.

After a year Vanessa’s fiancé speaks out claiming “They failed us,” see the full ABC interview here.

It has been a year since Vanessa’s body was found and her family members, friends, and fellow military members still have many unanswered questions. While it is assumed that Vanessa’s killer was one of another soldier stationed at Fort Hood in Texas, Aaron Robinson, the army is still investigating. Her fiancé spoke to ABC last week, discussing his anger and frustration at the lack of answers and closure he, her family and friends have. Many are upset with how the Army handled the situation and investigation. Interrogating her friends instead of going after Robinson, who many suspected from the beginning.

Her family now hopes that the “I Am Vanessa Guillen” bill, which will make sexual harassment a crime in military law will be approved and help prevent other soldiers from being harassed while defending their country, and other families from feeling the loss they do.

ABC will also be airing coverage every week until someone is convicted.

6 Best Recommendations to Avoid Online Dating Scams When Looking for a Girl

It is an excellent idea to look for a future wife on dating websites, but also a little bit risky one. No, when you use a verified resource, you can rely on it, but frauds can dwell everywhere, so it is nice to know how to protect your money or (sometimes it is even more important) your heart.

#1 Chat with a Girl On the Site Only

The most common scammer tactic is to switch from chatting on the hot Russian brides for marriage site to other communication channels, such as email or messenger because that way the service moderators can’t help you if you get scammed. Of course, if you are suggested to switch to Whatsapp, it does not mean that there is something wrong, especially if you communicate not for the first day and you are interested in each other. Nevertheless, if your interlocutor is not a cheater, she will not be embarrassed by your request to continue chatting for the time being.

#2 Be Suspicious

It may sound like bad advice – to see a double bottom in everything – but remember that an ordinary nice girl won’t be embarrassed by your suspicions and she will calmly be able to explain everything you don’t understand in her behaviour. But scammers will brazenly and aggressively demand your money or on the contrary, very pitifully ask for help, cause your sympathy, but all lead up to one thing – the transfer of funds to their bank card.

#3 Turn on Your Inner Detective

Of course, you shouldn’t be stalking anyone, but it wouldn’t hurt to do a little research. First of all, check if the girl’s picture is real – you can do this with the picture search service on the Internet. Also, google her name. Maybe you’ll find her social networking page, and you can make sure that the other information (her job, studies, etc.) she tells you is true, too.

#4 Tell Your Friends About Those With Whom You Communicate

Some people are too shy to talk about their personal lives, and some are too private by nature, but keep your family and friends in the loop if you can. Yes, you shouldn’t talk about every girl whose picture you like, but if you’re already in a closer relationship, it’s okay to tell. The whole point is that you may not notice any suspicious things because of sympathy, but from the outside, especially to people who care about you, they can be seen.

#5 Keep Personal Details to Yourself

Chatting with maybe your wife-to-be, you want to talk about everything. And it’s okay to talk about what you think, what you dream about, etc. But if they start asking you some numbers, numbers and facts, it’s already suspicious. For example, “the name of your first pet” is one of the most common secret questions to get into someone’s personal account without a password. So be careful what you notify your new acquaintance about.

#6 Admit it If You’re Wrong

Yes, it’s unpleasant to realize that you’ve been the victim of fraud, but if it did happen, it’s a bad idea to just forget about it and never remember. Analyze what happened and what mistakes you made. If you also lost a lot of money, you can go to law enforcement and let them investigate. Whatever you choose, remember that this is one such case, and if you are careful, you may find your love on the site. After all, it’s difficult and risky even in real life, but we all take risks and make mistakes so that we can end up happy with our loved ones.

Also, feel free to ask the site managers for help. Good, trusted resources try always to make sure that their customers are happy. Of course, dating service is a specific niche, because here people build personal relationships and accordingly communicate in private chats, but, for example, if you found out that your companion is a cheater on your own, you can complain about her and save other site users from this mistake.

Are Online Casinos Dominating the Gambling Industry in 2021?

Having the opportunity to do multiple tasks “on the go” is considered a groundbreaking technological advancement as well as one of our generation’s greatest privileges. From making video calls while traveling on the train to online wagering and earning a massive fortune, the virtual reality has already conquered our world. Speaking of massive fortune, by the way, Wildz Casino NZ can get you in a winning streak in no time. By grabbing the generous bonuses that they offer in addition to the 200 free spins on the table, even luck itself wouldn’t bet against you.

But why should you take advantage of iGaming when you can walk right into your familiar casino on the corner?! Sure, you can save yourself the trip, but is that reason enough? No doubt your doctor recommends a little bit of daily walking and exercise, but online betting offers some great benefits and you shouldn’t rule it out just yet.

In this article, we will examine how the increasing popularity of online casinos has changed the gambling industry, how it all started, and what are the pro and cons of virtual betting.

The Beginning of Online Gambling

Betting from the comfort of your sofa has improved quite a lot since the launch of the first online gambling website back in the 90s. This innovative industry took its first steps in Antigua and Barbuda where the Free Trade and Processing Act allowed for up-and-coming businesses to get the necessary licenses thus marking the beginning of virtual wagering in all history books.

Microgaming, the most prominent software provider at the time, is known for completely transforming the way we gamble and serving as the founding father of internet betting. Moreover, Microgaming has kept their esteemed place within the ever-changing industry and has managed to remain more than relevant by constantly improving their software so that all types of online gambling games are supported.

By the year 1997 the internet was crawling with more than 200 online betting websites, including internet poker games and sports wagering. All seemed to be going great for the industry until the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act was enacted which threw all online casinos into frenzy. Depositing and withdrawing funds was now illegal and the USA was no longer a welcoming territory for developing iGaming activities so most gambling companies took their business elsewhere.

Things were put on hold for the gambling industry for quite a while. However, America wasn’t the only country affected by the new regulations. In 2021 most European countries like Italy, Germany, Austria, Finland as well as China in Asia prohibit all forms of gambling.

Google’s New Policy for Online Betting Apps

A black cloud was hanging over the industry’s head but things took a turn when Google’s Play Store made a shift in restrictions back in March 2020. Up until now digital betting apps were available only in Brazil, France, Ireland and the UK, but thanks to this new policy 15 more countries (Australia, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, and the United States) will get the chance to wager on their mobile phone 24/7.

Naturally, all current laws in the respective countries must be taken into account when attempting to do some online gambling but nevertheless, internet betting seems to be on the rise. So what’s all the fuss about?

Online Gambling vs Land-based Casinos

There is no denying that dressing up, spraying the most expensive perfume you own all over yourself, and walking into a flashy casino in all small hours with a James Bond kind of confidence, is a thrilling experience. However, dominating a mobile betting game in your pajamas while eating Doritos, has its own perks, so hear me out:

IGambling Offers a Wide Variety of Games

A land-based venue, no matter how glamorous, is restricted by the laws of physics – you simply can’t cram all betting games that should be explored, into so few square meters. The Internet world, on the other hand, is limitless. A gambling fanatic can grab his/her mobile phone and dive right into an endless ocean of exciting games – from card and roulette games to sportsbooks and slots. In our constantly evolving online reality, it’s a daunting task to keep the user’s attention for more than 5 minutes, so infinite game supply sounds like a jackpot for the iGambling industry.

Online Casinos Provide Tutorials for Beginners

Taking up gambling can be quite challenging, especially for total newbies. There are so many different games to choose from, not to mention the overwhelming rules each game abides by. Luckily, the online betting platforms are packed with tutorials that are super easy to access by anyone interested in mastering some gambling skills. By contrast, in traditional casinos no one would rush in to teach you the ropes. On the contrary, people might get mad if you try to pull them out of their betting mind zone, and ask them questions.

Bonuses Are a Given When Wagering Online

Land-based establishments don’t provide the same luxurious experience to customers as they once did. Regardless of the posh atmosphere in traditional casinos, the player would rarely get more than one free drink in contrast to the high paying bill at the end of the night. Cultural history of marijuana

One of the most controversial and talked about topics over the course of recent human history has been marijuana and its consumption. It has been the topic of debate for a number of years now as it was always considered a drug that could be potentially dangerous to a person’s health, much like any chemical drug might do.

All of this controversy led to the recreational use of marijuana being banned practically worldwide, and the medicinal use only available to those who were absolutely desperate for it. Today, many states in America have legalised both just the medicinal use and even the recreational use as well, making the market grow insanely and be massively successful. This has led to exciting new inventions for those with an interest in the marijuana culture, like vaporizers, electric grinders, or even electric dab rigs. While people may know these basic facts, they might not know the actual cultural history that comes surrounding marijuana, so if you want to learn more, here is some information about the cultural history of marijuana.

Ancient times

Marijuana, also known as weed, cannabis, or pot, has an incredibly long history that could consider it to be an ancient drug. Most countries and cultures didn’t intend to grow the plant and make use of it in order to feel a high, but rather for medicinal purposes. It is said that it was most likely to have been discovered somewhere in Asia all the way around 500 BC.

Earlier hemp plants are known to be native to Asia and are slightly different to the cannabis plants that we make use of today that have been specially grown with different strains to feel different and more intense highs. Typically, beyond its medicinal use, hemp fibre was used to make paper, clothes, and ropes and even provide food from the seeds.

It has also been seen to have been used ceremonially with the graves of shamans in both Siberia and china having burned cannabis seeds in them, dating all the way back to 500BC

The 19th century

Moving forward with technology and research, in the early 1800s an Irish doctor who was studding in India discovered that marijuana extracts would help people with severe stomach pain and nausea who were likely suffering from cholera. Throughout the 1800s these extracts were sold by doctors and pharmacies all over Europe and the USA as treatment but there were problems that had been noticed.

Through further research is was discovered that the source of the problems was THC, a chemical compound within the marijuana plant that has psychoactive properties. Before this discovery, marijuana was considered a miracle plant that as curing people of all sorts of ailments.

The 20th century

Moving in to the 20th century, this is when things started going downhill for the marijuana industry with the Marijuana tax Act being imposed in 1937 as a way to heavily tax those who sell, are in possession, or use marijuana and ultimately ban the product. Later on in the 1900s there was a big stigma placed around the use of marijuana classifying it as a drug in the same category as that of heroine, LSD, and cocaine, all of which are chemical that can be harmful to the body.

With every single part of the marijuana plant now being illegal, some people lost their means of natural medication and had to go through a lengthy process and fight in order to get the right to at least have marijuana for medicinal purposes. To this day, some places will still only allow people to buy marijuana from dedicated dispensaries and only if they have a medical marijuana card allowing them to do so.

2021

2021 has seen the insane growth of the marijuana market practically worldwide. Today, there are states all over the US and countries around the world that have started to legalise the recreational use of marijuana. Now, because we are living in a time where technology is ever evolving and research is more easily done than ever, there are so many new and innovative ways to consume marijuana and so many different accessories available on the market for cannabis lovers to make use of and try out.

There are many different methods of delivery from oral, to inhalation, to even topical. With all this, there are more and more health benefits being discovered almost daily making marijuana a great alternative to modern medicine and for those who would rather be using something more natural.

NIKE vs MSCHF

Nike has filed a federal trademark infringement lawsuit against MSCHF shoes that released a controversial customized version of its sneakers “Satan Shoes” with rapper Lil Nas X. In the lawsuit filed today, Nike accused MSCHF Product Studio, Inc. of trademark infringement over the designer’s 666 pairs of modified Nike sneakers made in collaboration with the “Old Town Road” singer. All 666 pairs sold out Monday.

Fara Sunderji is a partner at the international law firm Dorsey & Whitney in its New York office. Sunderji has extensive expertise in all stages of trademark, copyright, clearance, prosecution, maintenance, enforcement, and litigation. Of the lawsuit she says,

“Nike’s swoosh is probably one of the most recognizable non-word trademarks in the world.  You see it and you automatically think of Nike as the source of the good on which it appears.  This is how trademarks are supposed to operate, as a source identified.  Nike’s case here is pretty simple to understand:  MSCHF is selling Nike Air Max 97’s that have been modified in a way in which Nike does not approve.  People see these “Satan Shoes” and think they come from Nike and some people don’t like that.  Nike, therefore, claims that the release of these “Santa Shoes” is harming its valuable brand,” Sunderji says.

“MSCHF will likely argue that they are protected under a theory called the First Sale Doctrine, which allows third parties to resell trademarked goods that have already entered the marketplace.  But the doctrine is limited to the sale of genuine goods.  The doctrine is based on the premise that consumers are not being deceived because they are receiving what they have bargained for, the trademarked good. Under Second Circuit case law, goods are not genuine if they do not conform to the brand owner’s quality control standards, and it is easy to guess Nike’s take on this issue – Just don’t do it,” Sunderji says.

According to NBC News, the lawsuit states “We don’t have any further details to share on pending legal matters,” Nike said. “However, we can tell you we do not have a relationship with Lil Nas X or MSCHF.”

Trademark attorney Josh Gerben of Gerben Perrott PLLC stated to CNN Business that “It’s a legal rationale that grants artists who purchase and repurpose individual copyrighted products the ability to express and profit off their own creativity.”. He also pointed out Nike shoe redesigners like MSCHF commonly sell their work on online marketplaces. “You’ve got all kinds of artists that go out there and they take a shoe, and they’ll do a whole bunch of custom art on the shoe and maybe resell it for $1,000-3,000,” Gerben said. “This is something Nike is well aware of and has done absolutely nothing to mess with because there’s a sneaker culture here.”

Lil Nas X isn’t named as a party in the lawsuit. Representatives for the musician did not respond to calls or emails requesting comment.

The backlash from social media is incredible with thousands of people expressing their opinions with the shoes and the representation they bring:

  •  South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem tweeted “Our kids are being told that this kind of product, is not only okay, it’s “exclusive.” But do you know what’s more exclusive? Their God-given eternal soul. We are in a fight for the soul of our nation. We need to fight hard. And we need to fight smart. We have to win.”.
  • NBA star Nick Young tweeted “My kids will never play Old Town Road again… I’m still debating about wearing Nike after this come Nike a drop of blood for real”.
  • On Instagram, celebrity musician Miley Cyrus shares a photo proudly wearing the controversial sneakers, captioning the post “Can you see Satan?”.

The controversial ‘Satan Shoes’ were strategically dropped after the release of Lil Nas X’s music video for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”, which has already been viewed more than 54 million times.

Lil Nas X took to Twitter in his true fashion posting “I spent my entire teenage years hating myself because of the shit y’all preached would happen to me because I was gay. So I hope u are mad, stay mad, feel the same anger you teach us to have towards ourselves.”

Blink and You’ll Miss it!

Canadian Ice Hockey

Watch just one professional ice hockey match and we guarantee you will be hooked for life. It’s one of the most exciting and fast-paced sports in the world; with players skating at up to 25mph and a puck flying towards the goal at 100mph, you will understand why you can’t afford to blink!

Betting is a huge part of Canadian ice hockey culture and one that is featured heavily by all of the best sports betting sites on wetten.com, where you are certain to find a bookmaker that fits the bill.

You can certainly add even more excitement by betting on ice hockey matches, although we don’t recommend some of the in-play options until you are fully conversant with what’s happening on the ice!

Love the sport – how do I bet?

Ice hockey is one of the rare games played over three sessions rather than two halves.  Play is three 20-minute periods, with sufficient time between each for the players to get their breath back and plan strategy, for the Zamboni to restore the ice to pristine and for spectators to grab a much-needed beer.

The most common type of bet is Moneyline, which means a straight wager on which of the two teams you think will win the match.  There are lots of others too; you could place a bet on your prediction of the score, or total number of goals at the end of each period of play, for example.

Ice hockey is both addictive and interactive. Although it is unlikely you will be able to attend a live match for a while yet, extended TV coverage and live-streaming from select bookmakers is currently bridging the NHL gap, both doing their best to keep the fan base happy until spectators are let loose again.

I want to bet – what’s the best plan?

The NHL currently comprises 31 teams, 24 located in the US and 7 from Canada. During the regular ice hockey season, each team will play 82 matches, 41 at their home rink and 41 away games. As you can see, that is a lot of matches and one hell of a lot of statistics.

If you intend to wager seriously based on studying stats, then your first port of call has to be the official NHL website, where you will find more statistics than you can comprehend, as well as all of the ice hockey rules and regulations too.

Don’t be daunted, if you only want to wager for fun, there are plenty of more ‘novel’ bets to catch your attention.  Emotions run high on the ice and players often resort to physicality to settle their differences, usually leading to penalties plus a time-out in the ‘sin bin,’ you can even bet on that aspect if you like.

I prefer to follow the Canadian teams – where can I find out more?

No country in the world loves ice hockey as much as Canada and it has more professional teams than any similarly-populated part of the US, from a per capita perspective.

There are seven NHL teams playing out of Canada, all with their own websites and fan pages, where you can find out everything you need to know about the teams and individual players:

•Montreal Canadians

•Toronto Maple Leafs

•Vancouver Canucks

•Edmonton Oilers

•Calgary Flames

•Ottawa Senators

•Winnipeg Jets

Canada undoubtedly has some of the best ice hockey teams in the world and we know exactly how seriously Canadians take this sport.  If your betting strategy is based largely around the seven Canadian teams playing in the NHL, then keeping up with all of the latest news is vital.

Particularly so for this season, as current Covid restrictions mean that changes have been made to Canadian match arrangements, which could affect your strategy.

Which bookie is best for Canadian ice hockey?

Canadian bookies come in many shapes and sizes, all of them offering betting on NHL matches.  However, there are a select few Canadian operations that specialise in ice hockey betting, which we believe can offer you the best all-round experience.

Don’t forget to have fun!

It really doesn’t matter whether you have just discovered the joys of ice hockey or you are a lifelong fan, everyone sings off the same hymn sheet in the crowds, dress up in your team jersey and be prepared to shout, cheer and stamp as necessary.

You will never find another sport where everything moves so fast and where every second counts.  Whether you are betting or not, you will certainly enjoy!

Tums’ Inappropriate ‘Camping Trip Chili’ Commercial

By: Emily Bunn

Antacid brand, Tums, recently released a commercial for Tums Naturals which features two women camping in the woods. As they heat chili over their campfire, one of the women begins to feel some heartburn. Suddenly, a towering, ominous red pepper appears behind her menacingly. The pepper is noticeably phallic, and dominates the small woman. TUMS announces, “When heartburn takes you by surprise, fight back.” The woman shown suddenly dropping her chili and defenselessly being dragged across the forest floor. As she is hauled away, she flashes the pepper her container of TUMS–almost as if she is wielding off an attacker with pepper spray.

The commercial has stirred associations with sexual assault, as the woman is dragged off without consent from the phallic figure. Tums’ commercial is an insensitive and inappropriate representation of such serious matters. To equate having some temporary heartburn to being assaulted is a far cry, and comparing the two lessens the severity of experiencing life-long trauma from sexual misconduct. TUMs ineffable lapse of judgement in creating this disturbing commercial is unprofessional, and promotes rape culture through joking about assault and brushing off the severity of such.

The commercial represents the woman as an unknowing victim, painting her in the horror trope light of the ‘final girl.’ The final girl trope in horror movies represents the heroine left standing at the end of the movie who fights off the offending villain, the most ‘pure’ woman–oftentimes a virgin–whose obedience rewards her with life. This trope is rooted in misogyny, and is an outdated sentiment of the entertainment industry’s emphasis on the male gaze. Just like in horror movies, the woman in this commercial gets to escape–thanks to her handy Tums– but this resolution begs the question: without her Tums, what would have happened to this woman? What is it that the giant pepper is threatening her life with, and why did Tums find it appropriate to relate a life-or-death situation to mere heartburn? Some may say it’s for laughs, but when situations like this actually occur– not with a giant pepper, but instead with an aggressive abuser who aims to hurt women– it’s no laughing matter. Whereas in a fictitious horror movie–or Tums commercial– the final girl gets to escape with her life, women who experience sexual assault are forced to live every day with the real life horror of their trauma.
