OMB Peezy of 300 entertainment releases new song via 360 Magazine

OMB Peezy – MisGuided

OMB Peezy delivers his highly-anticipated new project MisGuided today [via An Overkill Ent/ 300 Entertainment] for Gangsta Grillz’ latest installment hosted by DJ Drama. Including features from fellow heavy-weight artists, NLE ChoppaMorray, and G Herbo, Peezy rises to a pinnacle point with diamond-encrusted lyrical flexes and storytelling that certifies his artistic magnetic appeal. MisGuided is made available to stream on all music service platforms HERE

I came up with this title thinking about my childhood and the things I used to see as a kid. I saw things dat I didn’t know were wrong until later on in life. Things that the older people around me made seem cool or ‘The way of life’ as I always looked at it. Dat made me realize dat I’m not the only kid who went through this, it’s kids goin’ through this right now and don’t even kno. I just want to show them that they are being misguided before it’s too late.”
– OMB Peezy

The sixteen-track mixtape is the product of the prodigious rising Rap star whose natural talent as an artist has thrived from self-growth, being a father, and in-studio collaborations with elite producers Murda Beatz (Drake, Gucci Mane), Hitmaka (Lil Wayne, Chris Brown), HicksMadeThat (Young Boy Never Broke, Yung Bleu) and more. In addition to the project acclaimed track, “Mufasa” featuring G Herbo, released earlier his year, MisGuided features an array of tracks that magnify the lack of education OG’s passed down to the youth as Peezy takes complete charge to end the cycle speaking from a newly adapted perspective from being a father. Peezy paints a vivid picture of the pain and struggle he’s faced leading to this point; however, in the end, proves that all trials eventually lead to triumphs. The project comes to a cinematic end with a triumphant, base-knocking outro reminiscent of nostalgic Rap splendor made to inspire and evoke the energy of the streets to the global masses. OMB Peezy turns a new page as once being MisGuided to standing tall masterfully in his craft and the man he’s become today.

Slated to take his victory lap on the heels of his latest release, the Mobile, Alabama native prepares for this tour with  Kevin Gates via ‘Big Lyfe’ tour kicking off on 8/23/22. For additional tour information, visit HERE.

Mitchell Park Heights Community Fellowship Grant, awarded by Park Heights Renaissance, will be recognized with a special presentation from the Winner’s Circle. The iconic race was renamed in 2020 to highlight the extraordinary legacy of Mitchell himself and to create a platform for the recognition of those in the Park Heights community who share in Mitchell’s vision and leadership towards revitalization of the Park Heights community.

“The Preakness 147 celebration, including everything we are doing on Black-Eyed Susan Day and on Preakness Day, will bring together entertainers, artists, lifestyle, hospitality and culinary leaders, and the community for weekend of events that will put Baltimore front and center,” said Jimmy Vargas, CEO, 1/ST EXPERIENCE. “We are thrilled to be working with Mayor Scott, Kevin Liles, Yolanda Jiggetts and some of the city’s top cultural shapeshifters to reaffirm and evolve the connection between the Preakness and the people of Baltimore.”Tickets for Preakness LIVE go on-sale April 13th and range from $49-$175. Interview with Maria Becerra

Maria Becerra, or “the Girl from Argentina”, is an up-and-coming pop star, who despite only being 21 years old has become Argentina’s most-streamed artist. Starting off as a YouTuber, she quickly rose to fame and is now signed to 300 Entertainment (Young Thug, Meghan Thee Stallion.) 360 got the opportunity to talk with her about her life and rise to fame.

  1. How would you describe your style of music?

I think that I have a very melodic and versatile musical style. In the studio, we always try to ensure that each song has a varied melodic line, with different nuances, that above all… sounds familiar to the public. I have [traversed] several genres and in all of them, I was able to find how to make my style fit. I heard out there that they call me “The queen of weeping” [laughs] because I have many songs that are for dogging and dancing, and others that are a bit sad.

  1. How did you first become interested in creating music?

From a very young age, art was important to me. I learned how to sing, act, and dance. In my house, [we] listened to a lot of music. For a while I did covers and interpretations of famous songs, I think I was absorbing that and at one point I felt the need to start expressing myself with something of my own and I did. I was not 100% sure, I had many insecurities, I was afraid to know how… [people] …were going to receive my music, and also if this was really my path. Luckily things turned out… [positively] …and today I have no doubts that yes, I was born for this and I am very happy [making a] living from music.

  1. Which songs are you most proud of?

Mm, they are all special and fill me with pride. You can’t say just one. If I have to think quickly… [about] …which one I like the most, maybe… “Close to You” or “My Debility.” That song is very special. I cried a lot while making it and recording the video.

  1. You were a Youtuber before becoming a singer. How was the experience of transitioning from an influencer to an artist?

It was a beautiful experience, and I am grateful that it was like that. The change in my life was… [immense]. Being [on] YouTube gave me the opportunity to get to know me and lose my fear of exposure. …having had the experience of being a YouTuber served as the basis for everything that happened to me later.

  1. What is your favorite fan moment?

My favorite moment is when… [fans] …tell me… that my music… [is relatable] …to them. It’s amazing how something I do with all my love in the studio can reach so many people and positively influence their lives. ….we would…talk to …different fans, and at one point a girl told us that with “Tell me how I do”, one of my songs, she had declared her love to her girlfriend. I found it beautiful. Those moments fill me with happiness.

  1. How does it feel to have reached this level of popularity so young?

I still don’t think… [I’m famous]. It seems incredible to me, but I take it easy. I do not despair and try to have the same life as always. I surround myself a lot with my friends, my family, and my pets who are my ground wire and remind me of where I come from.

  1. Why do you refer to yourself as ‘The Girl from Argentina’?

In general, it is known that many discoveries have occurred accidentally in the world, and this was no exception. [laughs] When we recorded “Animal” with Cazzu, at last, in the part of the song’s guidelines I said “Las Nenas de Argentina”… referring to the two of us. Apparently, people heard “La nena de Argentina” and everyone loved that I refer[red] to myself that way. From there I started to use it as my brand, and I feel that it gives me a special power for transmitting to everyone that my music is made and is from Argentina.

  1. Who are your influences?

Wow, many! But especially Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, and Rihanna. I think they are very important to me. I watch their shows and videos a lot.

  1. How did it feel to join a label as prestigious as 300 Entertainment?

[It was] an honor, I am very happy with them. They are also always very affectionate with me. Since their office is in Los Angeles, we don’t see each other that often, but when we do it’s very nice because they always surprise me. I know the whole team takes care of me and they want the best for me, so I respect them and thank them very much.

  1. Your most recent EP blended many different genres. Which genres would you like to experiment with in the future?

I like “Bachata”, I think more songs like… [that] …are coming, but as I said before, I don’t want to pigeonhole myself and today I am here to experiment. So, in 2022, you can be surprised.

  1. What can we expect to see from you in the future?

I feel like it’s going to be a great year this year. We are working to make it so. I’m locked in the studio; some songs are coming out that are tremendous. I am already anxious for you to listen to them, so a new album is coming, trips and several shows in Argentina and Europe. We will be on the move. We hope to reach many places and have everyone dance and sing my music.

SPOTLIGHT ON MARÍA BECERRA

María Becerra is a tour de force. The Argentinian songstress, known as “la nena de Argentina” released her second EP in 2021, embracing and experimenting with hip-hop, reggaeton, trap, R&B, salsa, and more to craft her new sound. Described as a “leading voice in Argentina’s urban pop movement,” Becerra is a star on the rise. As the first Latin artist signed to indie American record label 300 Entertainment and with a Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist pending, it is clear despite her successes already, she is only just beginning. She sat down to answer a few questions for 360 Magazine including how she got her start in music, the story behind her nickname, her influences, and what to expect from her in 2022.

How would you describe your style of music?

I believe I have a very melodic and versatile musical style. In the studio, we always try to ensure that each song has a varied melodic line, with different degrees of nuances. Above all, we aspire to make a melody that sounds familiar and enjoyable to the public. I have experimented with several genres and in all of them, I was able to find how to make my own style fit within them. I hear they call me ‘the Queen of Weeping,” which makes me laugh. I have many songs that are for dogging and dancing, and others that are a bit sadder.

How did you first become interested in creating music?

From a very young age, art was important to me; I learned how to sing, act and dance as a child. In my home, we listened to a lot of music. For a while, I did covers of famous songs as I learned. I think I was absorbing different music and styles to the point where I felt the need to start expressing myself with my own works. Despite this desire, I was not 100% confident in my abilities yet and had many insecurities. I was afraid of how the public would receive my music and doubted if this was my true path. Luckily, things turned out in a positive way. Today, I have no doubts that yes, I was born to create music and it brings me a lot of joy.

Which songs are you most proud of?

Mm, they are all special to me and fill me with pride. It is difficult for me to pick just one. If I had to choose one, my first instinct is to say Ademas De Mi or Mi Debilidad, that song is very significant to me as an artist. I cried a lot while making it and recording the video.

You were a Youtuber before becoming a singer. How was the experience of transitioning from an influencer to an artist?

YouTube was a beautiful experience, and I am grateful that the opportunity was a positive one. The change in my life was progressive over time. Being on YouTube allowed me the chance for people to get to know me, while I gained confidence and worked on my own fears as a public person. Obviously, my life and my career are now on another path but having the experience of being a YouTuber served as the foundation for everything that has gone on to happen in my life.

What is your favorite fan moment?

My favorite moments are when my fans tell me everything in my music speaks to them. It’s amazing how something I pour so much love into in the studio can reach so many people and positively influence their lives. In live concerts, we would raise up different fans to speak with them, and at one performance a girl told us that with my song ‘Tell Me How I Do,’ she declared her love to her girlfriend. I found it beautiful. Those moments fill me with incredible happiness.

Maria Becerra by Christian Garfa 2

How does it feel to have reached this level of popularity so young?

It still doesn’t feel real. It is incredible to me, but I just try and take things one day at a time. I try to appreciate the small things and remain the humble girl I’ve always been because that’s still who I am. I surround myself a lot with my friends, my family, and my pets who are my rocks – they remind me of where I come from and who I am.

Why do you refer to yourself as the Girl from Argentina?

In general, it is known that many of the best discoveries occur accidentally, and this was no exception. When we recorded Animal with Cazzu, in the song’s lyrics I sing “Las Nenas de Argentina,” as if referring to the two of us. Apparently, when people listened, they heard “La nena de Argentina” and everyone loved that I referred to myself that way. From there, I started to use it as my brand, and I feel it gives me a special power for communicating to the world my music and I are made and from Argentina.

Who are your influences?

Wow, so many artists! I especially love and admire Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, and Rihanna. They are very important role models to me. I watch their shows and videos a lot.

How did it feel to join a label as prestigious as 300 Entertainment?

I am honored and very happy to work with them. They have always been supportive, even affectionate, towards me. Unfortunately, their office is in Los Angeles, so we don’t have the opportunity to see each other that often, but when we do it’s always a special moment. I know the whole team at 300 takes care of me and wants the best for me, so I respect them and thank them very much.

Your most recent EP blended many different genres. Which genres would you like to experiment with in the future?

I like Bachata, and I think more songs like this are coming from me. Yet as I said before, I don’t want to pigeonhole myself. I love to experiment with different genres and different sounds, and that is what is important to me as I create music today. So, in 2022 you and all my fans can be surprised with what I come out with next.

What can we expect to see from you in the future?

I feel like 2022 is going to be a great year. My team and I are working hard to make it so. I’m locked in the studio, and many of the songs we are currently working on are tremendous. I am already anxious for people to listen to them. This year, a new album is coming, as well as trips and several shows in Argentina and Europe. We hope to reach many places and have everyone dance and sing to my music.

Strick

Strick Land Album Release Party

By Krish Narsinghani, Yash Thadani

Strick, American rapper and singer, recently released his new album “Strick Land.” As a North Carolina native and an affiliate to Young Thugs infamous label Young Stoner Life, the artist wanted to paint a picture behind his album’s influence. If you’re already familiar with the “For Sale” rapper’s past, then you know the result is an eventful evening at an intimate boujee venue. For this specific album, Strick and his team held the party at a beautiful private art gallery in West Hollywood (known as Linc) and produced by The P.M. Firm. The ambience was unmatched with two rooms with varying vibes for all personality types. The initial reaction walking into the venue was refreshing. The first room had one section where women were embellished with paint across their bodies, while the other room displayed the new merch drop.

360 Magazine had the opportunity to sit down with the producers behind the new line, Jelani James and Jessica Raven (of companies JW Capital & Holding and Amber James), who worked directly with Strick.

“This is a family thing.. tied in through Young Thug’s dad, Big Jeff. There is no third party. It’s direct to manufacture. Strick has been really involved in every step of the process – making sure that his designs are in line with the album and the fits hit right. He wants to make sure everything has a certain aesthetic before being released.”

Nostalgic to say to the least. A room with vintage Pac-man, arcade style basketball and lemon pepper wings brought back memories of those middle school days. The real climax was when the DJ started playing songs from “Strick Land” with guest appearances from Nav, Metro Boomin and Asap Rocky. It’s safe to say this was a night to remember.

More on Strick:

Strick is a robust and multifaceted recording artist hailing from North Carolina and currently splitting his time between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Best known for honing his skills as a clever wordsmith and adept songwriter, Strick has garnered a reputation for tapping into his diverse professional background both in business and in the U.S. Air Force to elevate both his business acumen and genuine creative output alike.

After relocating to Atlanta in 2012 and founding his own branding agency for aspiring musicians Foundation 86, Strick moved to Los Angeles to pursue his own career as an artist. He then landed his first official placement on Kanye West and Juicy J’s “Ballin’,” leading him to work with artists such as Travis Scott, Jeremih, K. Michelle and Wiz Khalifa. In 2016, Strick earned his first platinum record “coordinate” off Scott’s Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight album, further igniting his hunger to continue developing his skills as a songwriter. That same year, he went on to join Young Thug on several tours, including the Hi-Tunes tour (2016) and the Hi Horse’D tour (2016/2017). Later, he was invited to join Young Thug and J. Cole on the K.O.D tour (2018), and Young Thug and Machine Gun Kelly on their co-headlining tour (2019). Most recently, Strick partook on the Justin Bieber Big Tour (2019).

In July 2017, Strick dropped his debut EP, Risk=Reward. In 2018, he released January’s Risk=Reward 2 and April’s Pairadice, going on to ink a deal with YSL Records and 300 Entertainment. Additionally, single “WokStar” feat. Skepta is featured on the Billboard #1 album Slime Language 2. Next up, Strick is preparing for Strickland, a full-length album to be released in 2021. With features from Young Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, Gunna, Swae Lee + more, this album paints a holistic image of who Strick is and what his world looks like through his eyes and ears. True to his genre bending approach to hip-hop and  alternative twist to R&B, “Dreamcast” is the perfect vibe. In Nue’s words, “It’s what you put on when you’re lit at 2 AM and not ready for your night to be over. You just feel the energy — it hits right from the jump and keeps up throughout the song.”

ABOUT NUE

Nobody does brooding, moody, rap/R&B hybrid quite like Toronto, and NUE is the latest in a string of artists taking the “Toronto sound” and adding to its legacy with his own unique brand of the city’s greatest export. NUE made waves in 2017 with his critically-acclaimed mixtape, Iroquois and more recently with his latest EP U Met Me At A Strange Time. NUE just finished up the Canadian tour with Grammy-nominated hitmaker, Fetty Wap. His dark style and unpredictable social media has garnered Nue the attention of Hypebeast, PAPER, Noisey, Complex, The Fader, Pigeons and Planes, Earmilk, and more.
