Vermont singer and songwriter Noah Kahan releases his anxiously awaited sophomore album, I Was / I Am, today—listen HERE. The 10-track album features his newest single, “Someone Like You” feat. Joy Oladokun, accompanied by the official video also out today—watch HERE.

On the album, Noah says, “I can split my life into two parts. There is a defined and pronounced before and after within my consciousness that has become ever so clear to me in these long months of forced self-reflection. I started my journey here so fearful of changing, of losing the part of me that I felt was vital to staying grounded and unique. Somewhere in the last few years, I’ve had to let go of that fear, and allow growth, for better or for worse, to happen. This album is about examining that growth and measuring the difference from who I was when I started and who I am still becoming now. I’ve spent 4 years touring, traveling, experiencing things I would have given limbs for when I was a kid. I’ve lost friends. I’ve made lifelong connections with people I would never have otherwise gotten a chance to meet. I have failed so often and have had small successes that make it all worth it. I’ve fucked up, and I’ve lost people close to me. I don’t know if I’m ‘better’ or if I’ve regressed, I just know that I’ve grown. This album is about acknowledging that growth.”

On collaborating with Nashville singer and songwriter Joy Oladokun, Noah says, “Working with Joy on this song was one of those experiences that I’ll always remember and be grateful for. She is an incredible artist, and she was really natural on camera which made me jealous! I love her and her music and am so grateful for her involvement on this song.” Joy chimes in, saying, “When a folk-pop god like Noah Kahan calls, you come running.”

Noah Kahan took two years of milestones and transformed them into I Was / I Am, alongside his Busyhead collaborator and Grammy Award-winning producer Joel Little (Taylor Swift, Lorde, Shawn Mendes, Jonas Brothers, Khalid) and engineer Mark Rankin. Preserving his commitment to vivid lyricism, Noah crafted the new music with faster tempos and sweeping hooks, recharging his overall vision.

He says, “While writing this record, I’ve taken stock of who I am as compared to who I was when I started and what that means, for better or worse. I do have some perspective. I’ve also lost a lot. I’ve lost people close to me for different reasons. I’ve lost friendships. I lost my dog. Those experiences haven’t necessarily hardened me, but they’ve made me incredibly grateful for what I have now. The biggest change is a little bit of clarity in terms of who I am and the person I want to end up being. The songs on the record represent a new understanding of myself.”

I Was / I Am features Noah’s previously released anthemic singles, “Part of Me” and “Godlight,” and “Animal,” which capture his signature storytelling and evocative lyrics. The tracks have amassed over 12 million combined streams to date and received praised from the likes of BillboardSPINEntertainment Tonight, and many more.

This fall, Noah will embark on the I Was / I Am North American headline tour. Kicking off in St. Louis on October 14th and running through mid-December, the tour includes shows at New York’s Webster Hall and Los Angeles’ The Fonda Theatre, which are quickly selling out—see the complete list of tour dates below. Tickets are available now HERE. Noah Kahan has quietly emerged as a homegrown phenomenon with a combination of vivid songwriting and powerful performances (as well as a razor-sharp sense of humor on social media). He’s racked up over one billion streams across his catalogue, picked up a Gold Certification for “Hurt Somebody” feat. Julia Michaels, and performed on television shows such as The Late Show with Stephen ColbertLate Night with Seth Meyers, and TODAY. His 2020 Cape Elizabeth EP garnered critical praise from across the globe, and not to mention, he’s collaborated with a slew of artists, from Chelsea Cutler to mxmtoon to Quinn XCII to Gryffin.

Pethub Introduces New Rabies Tag

PetHub, the industry leader in pet identification technology since 2010, has announced the launch of a digital rabies “smart tag” program. The company’s newest offering in cloud-based pet protection will be unveiled at the annual Veterinary Meeting & Expo (VMX)–the world’s leading veterinary conference–beginning June 6 in Orlando, Florida.

The PetHub rabies tag, which will be utilized by veterinarians as a value-added service to pet owners, includes an individual, free online pet profile registered with PetHub. Each tag is customizable and features a QR code and/or NFC RFID chip that makes it easy for anyone to scan with a smartphone and identify a lost pet with its home address and owner contact information. The service offers 24/7 access to PetHub’s Found Pet Call Center and other benefits that are free to pet parents and veterinarians.

More than 70% of lost pets are wearing a rabies tag, but traditional stamped metal tags have not changed in decades and offer little useful information to return pets home safely. Vets are looking to replace outdated rabies tags with tags that provide real value. PetHub’s customizable, database-supported rabies tags provide protection and support at a substantial cost savings compared to traditional tags. Additionally, to make veterinarians’ jobs easier, lost pet calls are answered by PetHub’s expert staff so that vets are able to focus on helping patients.

PetHub revolutionized pet ID tags when it introduced its pet license smart tag featuring similar technology. There are currently 3.5 million PetHub digital IDs in circulation, with 700 to 1,000 new pets joining the site daily.

“We are proud to revolutionize rabies tags the same way we have with pet license tags,” said Tom Arnold, PetHub founder and CEO. “Over 95% of lost pets found through their PetHub tag and online profile are returned home within 24 hours. Our new rabies tag program offers significant value to both veterinarians and pet parents, and we look forward to providing another powerful lost pet recovery tool that not only saves vets time and money but saves lives.”

Available in multiple shapes, the PetHub tags can accommodate a variety of type and logos, in addition to basic vaccination information. The tags are competitively priced, with volume discounts and bonus offers available to vets. PetHub’s award-winning, simple-to-use online platform will substantially enhance the value of existing rabies tag programs.

About PetHub

PetHub was the first company to launch a QR code ID tag in October 2010. Over 700,000 pet parents have trusted PetHub for the last 11 years to get their pets home fast. Over 96% of PetHub recovered pets are home within 24 hours. PetHub is helping licensors and shelters move into the 21st century with a technology-driven solution that not only protects pets better and recovers lost pets more quickly, but also saves money by reducing the costs of sheltering animals. With PetHub digital ID tags, licensing compliance is up as much as 15%, and shelters, most of which are non-profit, report cost savings as high as $40,000 per year. PetHub was founded in 2010 by former Microsoft employee, technical author, repeat entrepreneur and pet parent Tom Arnold.

Lauren Auder – Animal

LAUREN AUDER SHARES NEW SINGLE ANIMAL

LISTEN HERE

A real talent for creating music that expertly walks the line between boundless and bracingly intimate… -The FADER

Lauren Auder has been slowly building a pop world of her own a wide landscape of lush rolling orchestral layers and soft trickling piano, cut through by Auder’s slow, deliberate verses. -Consequence of Sound

Elegant baroque-pop an air of thrilling melodrama them. Meet Lauren Auder complex and poetic deep baritone, genre-bending sound, and rich lyricism. -Office

Subdued, world-weary stringsߪutterly ethereal. -Billboard

Today, singer/songwriter Lauren Auder releases her epic and exhilarating new single Animal via True Panther and Harvest Records. Made with up-and-coming producer mmph, Animal showcases the lavishly inventive sound and commanding vocal presence that have made Auder one of 2020’s most exciting breakout artists.

Download/stream Animal HERE.

Although it unfolds with a powerful splendor, Animal first began as an a cappella voice memo saved on Auder’s phone, its lyrics both self-effacing and defiant. In her collaboration with mmph (a classically trained musician known for his orchestration work on David Byrne’s American Utopia), Auder transformed her raw outpouring into a piano-driven ballad that perfectly spotlights her kaleidoscopic sensibilities. To that end, Animal mines inspiration from the moody volatility of seminal industrial acts like Current 93 while also revealing the more timeless elements of her musicality (I’m a sucker for a classic piano song, she points out).

Animal serves as the follow-up to Auder’s recent single Quiet, a stormy and spellbinding track that premiered in early October, hailed by Idolator as a deceptively majestic love song. The track was written by Auder and produced by Danny L Harle (Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek, Superfruit). Originally from Albi (a town in Southwestern France), Auder creates emotionally potent and transportive pop music inspired by everything from hip-hop to post-rock to classical. With a sound akin to Scott Walker singing Lorde songs, Auder’s distinct aesthetic was first glimpsed on her critically lauded 2018 debut EP Who Carry’s You. Released in March 2020, her sophomore EP two caves in delivered the widely adored singles june 14th and meek, two tracks centered on Auder’s intricate lyricism and mesmerizing vocals.

With her live experience including international tours with Christine and the Queens and Amen Dunes, Auder has also emerged as a captivating new presence in the fashion world, working for the likes of Gucci and being tapped as the face for Hedi Slimane’s debut collection for Celine in 2018.

Listen to Animal above, and stay tuned for more from Lauren Auder coming soon.
