NEXT TOWN DOWN RELEASES VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “ROCK”

Next Town Down’s latest video leaves everything on the dance floor as the New Edition inspired vocal group showcases both their dance moves and rhythmic R&B vibes. The video which is set inside what looks likes a Hollywood mansion plays on how a video of themselves leads to the thoughts and dreams of them one day making it big.

Although the video shows them working as cleaners, The members of NTD are no stranger to working a few crazy jobs of their own. In fact, the video’s inspiration gives a nod to those jobs they worked (i.e Dominoߣs, Subway, the corn fields, bill collection, and the Atlanta airport) before meeting over social media.

I think it’s safe to say, they wanted to let you know in a fun, smooth way that some dreams are just hard to shake. Or in their case, “ROCK.”

The Economist x Midterms

Today The Economist launched its first real-time midterm model, which uses statistical forecasting to predict how many seats in the House of Representatives each party is likely to win in this year’s US midterm elections.

View the model here:

Applying cutting-edge machine-learning techniques to political science, the model combines information from polling, past elections, special elections, fundraising, ideology and “fundamental” factors like the economy and incumbency.  It has been trained on every election cycle since 1942 and nearly 6,500 historical district races. The model will conduct 4.35 million simulated elections every day until the vote, live-updating to incorporate up-to-the-minute data.

The Economist’s midterm model currently predicts that Democrats have a 2 in 3 (or 65%) chance of taking the House, and holding an average of 222 seats, or 4 more than is needed for a majority.  It shows that there is a 95% chance that the Democrats will hold between 206 and 241 seats.

The Economist’s data team plans to launch a similar model to forecast Senate results later in the year once primaries are complete and more polls become available.

DONNA MISSAL’S NEW SINGLE, “GIRL” OUT NOW

Missal Announces June Shows In Brooklyn And Los Angeles

View Official Video HERE

Donna Missal’s new single, was given its world premiere today by Zane Lowe on Beats 1. Lowe said, “I love the modern production, the feel of it. But it also has like a timeless, latter-day Prince vibe to it.”

Listen/embed the segment at:

<iframe src=”http://embed.itunes.apple.com/us/embedded-player/idsa.5a04cac0-5f86-11e8-95da-16ced885557c” width=”560″ height=”315″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen scrolling=”no”></iframe>

AvailableHERE “Girl” touches on a subject that’s rarely discussed in any forum, the emotional damage inflicted when, as Missal sings, “women hate on other women.” The stripped-back yet intricately textured track unfolds with both gentle playfulness and piercing vulnerability.

“It’s been amazing to see this huge influx of art, music and media by women and for women intended to support and encourage every kind of women to claim our space. I think it’s important to identify what makes us stronger and louder, and we have proven that we can shift the culture around us by coming together to address our common issues and goals,” says Donna Missal. “When we criticize and attack one another, we diminish our voice in the conversation for equality and social change, so I wanted to write something that speaks on that experience. I don’t know a single woman who hasn’t experienced this in some way, and I want to see that change.”

The official video, directed by Justin Bettman, can be viewedHERE.  Bettman  who has earned acclaim for the ongoing art project Set in the Street, which repurposes found materials to create interior sets on city streets  also helmed the video for Missal’s,Driving.”

“Girl,” which was produced by Tim Anderson (Solange, BANKS, Halsey), is the third in a series of two-track singles from Missal. The A-side is a studio version of “Girl” while the B-side is a stripped-down live take. Today, Missal also shared a live performance video of the song. ABOUT SOUTHERN HALO

Natalia (principal songwriter, guitarist, lead vocalist), Christina (drums) and Hannah (bass) are SOUTHERN HALO.  Since their hypnotically-upbeat Country radio debut, “Little White Dress,” caught the attention of U.S. radio and press (spending eight weeks at #1 on the International Hotdisc Chart) this sibling trio has broken down doors and shattered glass ceilings.  Their sophomore single, “Rewind,” was a U.S. Top 40 MusicRow CountryBreakout™ Chart hit that also held the #1 spot on the Hotdisc Chart for two weeks.  The group’s third single, “Living Like That,” quickly found success of its own. Those three singles, from the group’s previous CD, SOUTHERN HALO (2015), further bolstered the trio’s profile. Since landing in the National Finals of the 2014 Texaco Country Showdown as the youngest competitors ever, the band has opened for Maren Morris, Phil Vassar, Deana Carter, Love and Theft, Brantley Gilbert, Eric Paslay, Tyler Farr, Parmalee, Old Dominion, American Young, Blues immortal B.B. King and legendary chanteuse Dionne Warwick, among many others. The Cleveland, Mississippi natives have performed at a pre-show on the rooftop terrace of the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles and launched Townsquare Media’s Say It With Pepsi Concert Series. They entertained fans at CMA Music Festival 2016, and have twice toured the U.K. When they are not on the road, the Morris sisters now call Nashville home.

KAILEE MORGUE’S NEW SINGLE

Kailee Morgue debuts her new single, “Do You Feel This Way” (feat. Whethan)—listen & share here. The track premieres today on Zane Lowe’s World First.

Of the song, Morgue says, “This is one of my favorite songs I’ve made because it is off axis just enough to blur my perspective between haunting and inviting. Teaming up with Whethan brought the perfect blend of hazy lethargy and upbeat skepticism to the track. It captures the unease of that feeling of not knowing how someone truly feels about you, and it still always makes me want to move when I hear it—it’s so fun to perform.”
KAILEE MORGUE
“Do You Feel This Way” (feat. Whethan) follows Morgue’s latest single, “F**k U” and her 2017 breakout track, “Medusa,” which catapulted her into an overnight success after she posted a live performance of the song on Twitter. “Medusa” became the title track from her debut EP, which was also released last fall and features her hit single, “Discovery.”

Tattooed, multi-color haired and anime-obsessed 19-year-old Phoenix-born and Los Angeles-based gothic pop siren, Kailee Morgue, casts a sonic spell with her music. A self-described “introvert” and the second oldest of six kids, she found solace in the sounds of fellow sonic sorceresses, such as Stevie Nicks and Gwen Stefani, as well as bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and more. By the age of ten, she picked up her first guitar, began quietly penning music and eventually started posting tracks on Soundcloud.

Between a gig at Jack In The Box in 2016, an 18-year-old Morgue found the beat for her breakout track, “Medusa,” on YouTube and cooked up the single. She first teased the track with a brief Twitter video, and it ignited a viral reaction garnering 100,000 “likes” overnight. Over an airy, minimalistic soundscape, Morgue creates a hypnotic and heartfelt melody with haunting and powerful lyrics. “Medusa” peaked at #1 on Hype Machine, was hailed as “Best Track of the Week” by The New York Times, MTV, The Line of Best Fit and Coup de Main and its video premiered on The FADER. As “Medusa” became an underground phenomenon, Morgue inked a deal with Republic Records in the summer of 2017. Further music is set for release this summer.
