Grammy-winning producer, Songwriters Hall of Famer, and cultural architect Jermaine Dupri officially set the tone for Grammy Week with the launch of his first-ever pre-Grammy celebration, So So Def Recordings Presents: Jermaine Dupri & Friends — After Dark, an exclusive, invite-only experience held Wednesday, January 28th at the legendary Troubadour.

Inside the full-capacity, invite-only room, Dupri delivered the kind of once-in-a-generation, only-in-LA moment that fused legacy, community, and the timeless soul of R&B music. The venue transformed into a So So Def playground—complete with a custom-branded cushioned photobooth—while Casamigos fueled the night with specialty cocktails.

The musical energy was curated from the moment doors opened, with dynamic DJ sets from DJ Derek Monteiro (@djderekmonteiro), Lathon (@lathon_macon), Mix Master David, DJ Mos (@djmos), Paul (Nineteen85) and more, creating a seamless soundtrack that moved between eras, genres, and generations. The evening’s host, Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Bryan-Michael Cox, guided the packed house through a celebration that honored the golden era of R&B and hip-hop while showcasing So So Def’s ongoing influence.

The live performances kicked off with a soaring, deeply soulful set from Ari Lennox, who recently released her third studio album Vacancy, a project shaped heavily by Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox. Following the success of their hit “Pressure,” the performance offered an intimate, full-circle moment between collaborators.

The stage then shifted to DVSN, the So So Def signee who delivered a medley of fan favorites, raising the temperature inside the room with their signature blend of R&B and late-night sensuality.

But the night’s biggest eruptions came from a series of unannounced superstar appearances that instantly turned the Troubadour into a time capsule of early 2000s greatness. Bow Wow, Trey Songz, Amerie, B2K, Jon B, and more stepped onto the stage to perform the hits that defined an era—tracks that still live rent-free in playlists, nostalgia, and Culture at large. Each surprise brought the crowd to its feet, creating a communal celebration that was felt as much as it was heard.

Visit Vietnam’s Largest Lavish Island Phu Quoc

Nestled inside the Gulf of Thailand and in close proximity to Cambodia is Vietnam’s largest island, Phu Quoc. The tropical paradise, also known as Pearl Island, is a visa-free destination for most international tourists for a 30-day period (guaranteed for many visitors arriving via air plane). Long Beach, Sao Beach, and Ganh Dau Beach are some of the most beautiful white-sand beaches in this resort town, which has a population close to 400,000. Many of them offer water sports and relaxing activities alongside jungle hikes in Phu Quoc’s National Parks, which offer jaw-dropping waterfalls. It’s a great spot for young backpackers and travelers seeking a luxurious lifestyle.

The bustling Duong Dong market and district offers a wide variety of pubs, seafood, and nightlife. Phu Quoc Prison, Vinpearl Safari, and VinWonders are among the most popular historical sites to visit. At the most southern tip of the oasis, An Thoi Sunset Town (dubbed Mediterranean Town) is located. The European-themed entertainment complex is nothing short of epic. It possesses 5-star accommodations, a night market, a kissing bridge, and one of the world’s longest cable cars, which drops you off at a newly developed smaller island with a massive amusement/water park. Every night, they display a huge fireworks show alongside The Kiss of Sea Show, which is an electrifying laser light show performed live at a water amphitheater.

Points of Interests

The Hon Thom Cable Car traverses 4.9 miles across various islands to a theme park that features water rides, restaurants, beautiful resorts, and breathtaking beaches. At the southernmost tip of Phu Quoc’s Suntown in Vietnam, it is possible to book a ride. We were literally hypnotized by the magnificent panoramic views.

Kiss of the Sea Show is a spectacular live experience that uses pyrotechnics, fireworks, laser lights, and projections onto a seawater screen. For $38, it’s the perfect activity for all ages. An amazing pool of talent has been hired for this award-winning production to engage in stage combat, acrobatics, and dance choreography. If you want to leave Phu Quoc’s Suntown with a jaw-dropping impression, you should check out this venue.

La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton, is a 5-star hotel situated in the heart of Phu Quoc’s Suntown and offers a variety of services. There are many restaurants available in different cuisines, including Vietnamese, Mediterranean, Parisian, and Western. We were fond of the viewing room located just outside the hotel lobby, which showed enchanting glimpses of the kissing bridge and The Kiss of Sea Show amphitheater. The facility provides a variety of lite bites with an extensive wine menu. In summary, the waitstaff was friendly and the food was delicious.

Qatar Airways Debuts Swizz Beatz–Designed F1 Aircraft With Flypast at the Qatar Grand Prix

Qatar Airways – the F1 global partner and title sponsor of the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix – in collaboration with global creative visionary Swizz Beatz and The Dean Collection, unveiled the first-ever Swizz Beatz–designed F1 aircraft with a powerful flypast over Lusail International Circuit during day one of the Qatar Grand Prix.

The custom Boeing 777-300ER, featuring the new Creative 100* livery, made its public debut as it passed over the start/finish line just before race action, creating one of the most striking visual moments of the weekend. The aircraft represents a rare crossover between aviation, design, and motorsport similar to an F1 special uniform reveal, but executed on the scale of a wide-body jet.

The exterior was brought to life by aviation designer and Creative 100 inductee Aurora Saboir who translated Swizz Beatz’s creative direction into a refined, technically precise livery. She developed the trim lines, color palette, and visual language in close collaboration with the Qatar Airways brand team, overseeing its execution onto the Boeing 777-300ER. Specializing in luxury private jet design, this marks Sabo’s first commercial aircraft and the largest exterior project of her career.

The FORMULA 1® CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX has revealed an all-new hospitality centerpiece for the 2026 event: a spectacular MSC Yacht Club experience, presented by MSC Cruises, is set to debut at the Miami International Autodrome for the Formula 1 weekend across May 1-3, 2026.

The MSC Yacht Club will become the highlight of the Marina on the inside of Turns 5-9, representing a bold evolution of one of the most recognizable areas of the FORMULA 1® CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX. Designed to reflect the scale, sophistication and energy of the event itself, the lifelike super yacht will measure 264ft in length, have a width of 96ft and will be 50ft tall at its highest point. It will stand as a premier trackside hospitality destination, offering guests a multi-level experience unlike anything else on the Formula 1 calendar.

Since its debut in 2022, the Marina presented by MSC Cruises has become synonymous with the FORMULA 1® CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX, and the MSC Yacht Club builds on that legacy, bringing together successful elements of the Marina into one striking, purpose-built structure. Positioned at one of the circuit’s most dynamic sections, the MSC Yacht Club will place guests directly alongside one of the most exciting corners on the track’s layout, delivering dramatic views of up to five turns (Turns 5-9). In a one-of-a-kind musical moment, two of the most influential voices in global Latin music, Maluma and singer-songwriter Kany García join forces to release “1+1,” a vibrant romantic salsa that invites listeners to embrace love freely and without hesitation. Listen HERE.

“1+1” is more than a song; it’s a celebration of loving boldly and speaking from the heart. With a playful, daring lyric, the track sets up a seductive exchange leaving “guilt outside the room” to “solve the equation” of love and desire. Maluma’s unmistakable voice and signature charisma intertwine with Kany García’s emotional depth and lyrical honesty, creating a magnetic vocal chemistry that feels both natural and compelling.

The release marks a unique cultural bridge between Colombia and Puerto Rico, infused with authenticity and flavour, an ode to the richness and diversity of Latin music today.

Written and produced between Turks and Caicos and Miami by Maluma, Kany García, Rafael Arcaute, Ily Wonder, MadMusick, Jonathan Rivera, and Richi López, “1+1” delivers a fresh yet timeless sound.

The music video shot in Medellín and directed by Stillz, the influential Colombian-American creative director and photographer known for shaping the visual language of global artists perfectly complements the spirit of “1+1.” Built around the creation of a traditional bandeja paisa, the video embraces a fast, analogue energy filled with expressive gestures, textures, and rhythmic movement that mirror the song’s pulse.

From Kany García leaving a rural finca during golden hour to a near-folkloric farewell ritual led by Maluma, the visual narrative becomes a love letter to Colombian culture. The journey unfolds through everyday scenes and natural ingredients, farm life, transporting produce, the local market, the butcher shop culminating in Maluma’s kitchen, where the iconic dish is prepared with humour, pride, and passion.

The closing moment shows Kany enjoying a classic paisa breakfast while Maluma and his team prepare a traditional lunchbox symbolising the final equation: food made with love, shared with intention.

In celebration of Art Basel’s first ever edition in the Middle East, this February The Ned Doha will unveil Old to New,  a thoughtfully curated exhibition that explores the transformation of time, culture and creative practice. As the global art world turns its gaze to Doha, The Ned Doha, housed within one of the country’s most architecturally and historically significant buildings, takes its place at the heart of this landmark moment, welcoming visitors to experience the intersection of international and local creativity and the city’s vibrant cultural scene.

Curated by Moza Al Kurai and Fatima Mohammed, and presented in collaboration with Sana Art, Old to New brings together a selection of Qatar’s most talented artists whose practices bridge heritage and innovation. Including works by Sara Al Naimi, Noora Al Hardan and Mubarak Al Thani, across painting, textiles, sculpture and digital media, the exhibition traces a dialogue between past and present, honouring cultural memory while embracing the evolving language of today’s art. 

Set against the richly layered interiors of The Ned Doha, the exhibition becomes an immersive experience as the building’s own transformation mimics the works on display: a historic civic space reborn as a hub of contemporary gathering and creativity. Visitors can move through rooms where woven and block-printed textiles, recycled materials and mixed-media urban forms sit side by side offering a perspective on renewal and reinvention.

Highlights from the exhibition include Sara Al Naimi’s tactile textile tapestry ‘Between Forms Flow,’ where traditional craft techniques are reinterpreted through a contemporary lens; whilst Hind Al Saad’s ‘Earth Machine’ merges copper and printed circuit boards to reflect the intersection of cultural systems.

The Ned Doha quotes “The timing of Art Basel Qatar, Old to New enforces The Ned Doha’s position as more than just a hospitality destination but a cultural platform where art, design and conversation converge. The property’s very own ambitious art collection of 350 pieces, is largely made up of works by female artists and is curated to reflect themes of identity, heritage, ecology and cultural transformation.”

The collection brings a living gallery to the property which underscores their commitment to championing the region’s emerging creative scene. During Art Basel the space will welcome guests, collectors and creatives in the industry into an inspiring setting that encourages connection and discovery.

Since opening, The Ned Doha has emerged as Qatar’s most dynamic lifestyle property, offering a refined blend of hospitality, art, design and culture. Home to seven restaurants, 90 bedrooms and suites. And Ned’s Club – a member’s only space spread across multiple floors, the property has rapidly established itself as the capital’s social hub. Set against the backdrop of Qatar’s growing global prominence, hosting events from the FIFA World Cup and Formula 1 Grand Prix to the Design Biennale and now Art Basel – the property sits at the centre of a region in creative ascent.

After decades of anticipation, Light-Years is a 30-year working legacy reborn, further cementing their status as one the greatest rapper-producer duos of all time. Nas and DJ Premier’s partnership is embedded in the DNA of Hip-Hop. Their origin story began in 1994 with Illmatic, which resulted in hits such as “N.Y. State Of Mind,” “Memory Lane” and “Represent.” Illmatic helped establish Nas as a generational talent and furthered Premier’s then burgeoning legacy. Their chemistry deepened over the next decade through classics like “I Gave You Power,” 2nd Childhood,” “Nas Is Like” and “N.Y. State Of Mind Pt. II.” 

The prolific duo revealed the album’s tracklist earlier this week further building the excitement and anticipation around the album. The 15-track album notably features a sole guest appearance from Nas’ longtime collaborator AZ. Full tracklist below.

DOECHII DROPS ‘girl, get up’ f/ SZA

Doechii closes this iconic chapter and prepares to work on her album but first takes a necessary exhale on “girl, get up.” With SZA. With raw, unapologetic lyricism, she gets it all off her chest, unpacking everything from her life, her career and her nonlinear climb from hunger to the heights. She confronts the noise head-on, addressing doubters, believers and the tired “industry plant” narrative with sharp honesty, wit  and self-awareness. The result is a fearless statement piece – part testimony, part reckoning – that underscores how you can’t manufacture destiny, only answer its call. Listen to “girl, get up.” With SZA – released today via Top Dawg Entertainment / Capitol Records – HERE. Doechii wrote the new track with SZA, Jahlil Gunter and Darius Scott. Produced by Jay Versace (Tyler, the Creator, SZA), the song also features a sample of “What Happened To That Boy” by Baby ft. Clipse, which was written by Charles Hugo, Gene Thornton, Terrence Thornton, Bryan Williams andPharrell Williams. “girl, get up.” is the final song from Doechii’s “Swamp Sessions” series, which paired eye-catching visuals with equally compelling bars and included such tracks as “NISSAN ALTIMA,” “BULLFROG” and “CATFISH.” The concept behind the sessions was to set a timer for an hour and write a song. Each conveyed a single sonic idea and, taken together, revealed a kaleidoscopic artist.

Doechii’s tour de force single “Anxiety” received GRAMMY® nominations in five categories: Record of the Year; Song of the Year; Best Rap Performance; Best Rap Song and Best Music Video. In February 2025, she won her first GRAMMY Award for Best Rap Album for Alligator Bites Never Heal. The album ranked at No. 1 on Rolling Stone’s list of “The 20 Best Hip-Hop Albums of 2024” and placed in the top 10 of their overall “Best Albums of 2024” tally. Critics at NPR, Paste, Consequence of Sound, Stereogum andUPROXX also hailed Alligator Bites Never Heal as one of 2024’s best albums. Listen HERE.

Her fall 2025 “Live from the Swamp Tour” of North America was completely sold out, shattering records for largest single day sales demand in history for Live Nation shows at numerous venues. In a review of her show at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, The New York Times said, “Throughout a relentlessly energetic hour-and-a-half set, Doechii rapped and vamped exuberantly…at once laser-focused and cartoonishly animated, driven by dexterous wordplay and sudden pivots into entirely different flows, intonations and characters…[She] has the charisma, imagination and drive to become a superstar…”

Doechii was named Woman of the Year at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event, Best Female Hip Hop Artist at the BET Awards, Outstanding New Artist at the NAACP Image Awards and Outstanding Music Artist at the GLAAD Media Awards. “Anxiety”won Social Song of the Year at the 2025 American Music Awards and took Best Hip Hop and Best Choreography honors at the MTV Video Music Awards.
