SG Lewis New 5-Track Project ‘Dark’ Out Now

Today, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist SG Lewis releases the highly-anticipated new five-track project ‘Dark’ via Casablanca/Republic Records. The new record serves as the second chapter of his upcoming three-part concept album Dusk, Dark, Dawn, which chronicles the trajectory of a night out through its different moods and genres and serves as a tribute to club and youth culture.

While Dusk (released earlier this year) blended disco, smooth electro and funk, the second chapter in the trilogy Dark explores distinctly heavier yet still diverse sounds. Nowhere is this more present than in latest single ‘Again’, which sees SG collaborate with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs to create a euphoric slice of deep-house. In stark contrast, previous single ‘A.A.T’ is a skittering, bass-laden trap/R&B crossover featuring Drew Love of acclaimed American hip-hop duo THEY, while new EP track ‘Release’, a collaboration with London Grammar’s Dot Major, is a driving, blissed-out bass groove. Further collaborations on Dark include lead single ‘Hurting (feat. AlunaGeorge), which was Clara Amfo’s ‘Track Of The Week’ and topped the iTunes electronic chart, as well as ‘Dreaming’, featuring North London singer/songwriter Bruno Major. SG has previously collaborated with Col3trane, Raye, Ray BLK, The Neptunes’ Chad Hugo, Gerd Janson, Conducta and more as well as producing Dave’s ‘100M’s’ proving his worth as a producer not limited to any genre or style.

It’s been an incredible twelve months for SG that has seen him sell out an expansive run of dates in Europe, Australia, Asia and North America, including two nights in NYC, Toronto, Chicago and LA.

Following his recent massive US tour, SG brings his live show back to Europe for a string of dates starting in late November including Bristol and Manchester shows and culminating in a special sold-out headline show at London Printworks on December 7th.

Timberwolves Trade Jimmy Butler To Sixers

By Reid Urban

The Jimmy Butler era in Minnesota has finally ended.

The Timberwolves have agreed to send their star, along with Justin Patton, to the Philadelphia 76ers for Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless, and a 2022 second-round pick. A trade call with the league to finalize the deal has been set for Monday.

For Sixers GM Elton Brand, this is his first major move since being named the GM a few months ago. This move will now allow the Sixers to have a third star on the team alongside Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid without luring an impact player in the 2019 free agency period.

Mark Suleymanov of Hoops Rumors believes that this move could also take pressure off their 2017 first overall pick Markelle Fultz, as many had expected him to be the third star on that team. That has not worked out the way Philadelphia wanted it to yet.

Assuming that all goes well in Philadelphia, it could signal the way for both sides to reach an agreement on a long-term. In fact, it is believed Philadelphia wants to have the big three of Butler, Simmons, and Embiid around long-term. However, a major injury or poor play from Simmons and Embiid alongside Butler could diminish that possibility.

As for Minnesota, this trade ends the two-month saga of Butler asking for a trade request. This all started before training camps got underway before the season began, and this news of a trade request broke during a meeting between Butler and Timberwolves coach and president of basketball operations Tom Thibodeau. Although Butler didn’t initially report to camp, he eventually rejoined the team after the Wolves couldn’t find a trade partner right away. However, things took a somewhat sour turn with Butler’s expletive-filled rant in a preseason practice. Now, things have resolved themsleves, as Butler’s departure will give the team an opportunity to focus on a future centered around their young core in both Karl Anthony-Towns and Andrew Wiggins.

The Wolves will now add both Covington and Saric to their long-term plans. Saric won’t be a restricted free agency until 2020 and Covington is locked up through 2022. The team understandably didn’t want to take a step back in their roster-building process, having made the playoffs last season after a long absence out. As for Bayless, if the team can’t find a plan for him, he’ll be most likely bought out by the Wolves.

Looks like both teams got what they wanted in this deal. It gives Butler an opportunity to play with some stars and potentially become a long-term asset for the Sixers, while the Wolves get some players and a pick, in hopes that this trade will help them continue where they left off.

For the third annual year, ComplexCon takes over the greater LA area. Set in Long Beach, California, major brands and celebrities flooded their convention center to witness spectacular musical acts, speakers, brands and art. Over the two days, 360 Magazine visited various booths – Puma, Champion, Reebok, Pink Dolphin, 1800 Tequila, Cadillac and more. Takashi Murakami, contemporary artist on the host committee, sprinkled his aesthetics across the summit (in addition to a collaboration with Drake’s OVO). 1800 Tequila partnered with artist Adam Lucas and streetwear designer Nicky Diamonds for custom-made vintage denim jackets which were raffled at this year’s program. Dita Eyewear Collaboration

DITA EYEWEAR is thrilled to announce an exciting new collaboration with the ever-dazzling Queen of Burlesque, DITA VON TEESE, as they bring a fresh twist to iconic eyewear. The bridgeless cat-eye frame, rendered in lightweight titanium and appointed with contemporary details, represents the convergence of two creative talents at the peak of their influence.

Dita Von Teese is uniquely suited to the challenge of revitalizing the classically styled frames with an exquisite modern twist. “The cat-eye is a well-worn style, a silhouette that rarely transcends the era in which it was created,” she explained. “My goal was to keep within the spirit of the 1950’s, but to craft our version in a slick, new way as a secret weapon for the modern Femme Totale.”

High-end craftsmanship and technology from DITA EYEWEAR’s creative studio provided the tools to achieve a distinctive new shape for the landmark partnership. A slender expanse of titanium spans the brow in a single, sinuous line, stripping away extraneous elements for the illusion of a floating lens. Sculptural details, from the hinge mount to harlequin-point titanium temples, were inspired by selections from Von Teese’s vast collection of vintage couture and curiosities.

Von Teese herself will also appear in the season’s advertising campaign, “SEEING DOUBLE,” which shadows a mysterious encounter with a doppelgänger in a sultry noir atmosphere.

DITA EYEWEAR FOR DITA VON TEESE arrives November 1st, 2018 and will be available at DITA.COM, DITA flagships, Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and other fine eyewear boutiques.

Stars Acquire Taylor Fedun From Sabres

By Reid Urban

The Dallas Stars have gone out on the trade market to get some defensive depth.

Today, the team announced that it has acquired defenseman Taylor Fedun from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a conditional 2020 seventh-round pick.

That pick will only happen if Fedun plays 25 or more games with Dallas this season. So far, he’s only played nine games and all with Buffalo’s AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans. He has five assists with them. As for right now, he will remain at the AHL level, having been assigned to the AHL Texas Stars.

For the past five seasons, he’s bounced around a lot at the NHL level, having played in 46 games between the Oilers, Sharks, Canucks, and Sabres. His overall numbers are two goals and 13 assists, while averaging 14:08 per night on the ice. He’s also in the final deal of a two-year, two-way deal that pays him the league minimum at $650K at the NHL level and $300K in the AHL.

This move was necessary for Dallas, since they needed depth at the back end. They’ve had multiple injuries to players like Connor Carrick, John Klingberg, Stephen Johns, and Marc Methot. With that, it’s very likely that Fedun could be called upon if the injuries continue to mount.
