WELTHE Guy LLC

Robert Pauley III is the founder of WELTHĒ Guy LLC – a lifestyle brand. The WELTHĒ (pronounced wealthy) Guy was began when Robert was seeking a classic men’s jacket with a fur collar and he couldn’t find anything. So, he decided to contrive his own coat and have it made by custom tailors. When Robert started wearing his coat, he would get stopped along the street by people inquiring who the designer was. Once he told people he was the architect, they started placing orders. Soon after, Robert got the opportunity to present his designs in Atlanta, Chicago and in New York during Fashion Week. In less than 2 years, the WELTHĒ Top Coat has appeared in numerous online and print publications as well as in an independent film.

Being a startup business, Robert knew he needed great images to showcase his fabrications and decided to take up photography to showcase the WELTHĒ Top Coats the way he wanted them to be seen. This led to the creation of WELTHĒ Images Portraits. Guests began to book photo sessions with Robert and he would create portraits of them that would become their legacy. He wanted his portrait business to be a contemplation of the WELTHĒ Guy and he began offering ‘celebrity-style’ photoshoot experiences. He helps to style the clients, offers hair and makeup as well as complimentary champagne. After the shoot, the client comes back for an ‘Image Reveal’ and dicovers their images exhibited in a distressed leather box, handmade in Italy.

Prior to starting the WELTHĒ Guy LLC, Robert worked in finance for two of the top banks in the world. He applies the skills he’s acquired in the financial world to enhance his business.

Robert holds a BA in History from Baruch College (City University of New York). He loves to travel and has been to over 25 countries and has lived in mainland China, Hong Kong and Spain. Robert believes that “your style is your life” and the way you dress is a reflection of your life experiences.

Reebok x ComplexCon

Today, Reebok unveiled the first sneaker in their highly anticipated limited edition, R58 capsule collection with the release of the Aztrek R58, which was available only at ComplexCon.

The series, which encompasses three of Reebok’s key sneakers, nods to the brand’s heritage as well as the grit and attitude of their co-founders — encouraging wearers to be unafraid and push the limits beyond the conventional. The Aztrek R58 ($120) also nods to the brand’s 90s heritage as the original off-road runner and features shades of black, yellow and red with all three Reebok logos artfully placed throughout.

To celebrate the shoe’s debut, Swae Lee (Rae Sremmurd) stopped by the Reebok booth and got a custom tattoo from artist Miryam. Brand partner Trevor Andrew also stopped by.

In partnership with basketball legend Allen Iverson, Reebok also debuted the long-awaited follow-up to the Answer XIV, the Iverson Legacy. Featuring an entirely new design, the sneaker is the first collaboration between the two in four years and pays tribute to Iverson’s life and career. Championing his legacy both on and off the courts, the Legacy features design elements from his first five Reebok models and reinterprets them for today. Fans of Iverson will recognize details like the ghillie lacing system, iconic I3 jewel logo and woven heel tab from the Question, Answer I, Answer II, Answer III, Answer IV.

Officially launching November 17 on Reebok.com for $160, Allen Iverson made an appearance at the Reebok booth to officially unveil the sneaker. Along with the black/white colorway, a custom version from sneakerhead and former Complex editor, Russ Bengtson was offered as an exclusive for ComplexCon attendees. Bengtson’s shoe, which nod’s to Iverson’s unprecedented legacy, is inspired by classic Iverson models as well as his various tattoos — featuring a bold, red and camo pattern throughout. The red leather nods to the Question and Answer I, while the multiple patches bring in a lot of other Iverson-themed graphics, an easy way to let people personalize their own pairs.

EBONY Magazine Reveals Annual EBONY Power 100 List

EBONY magazine, the authentic perspective on the African-American community, has announced its annual EBONY Power 100 List, celebrating those whose work and heroism continue to inspire and influence society. For more than 30 years, the EBONY Power 100 List has been curated by the editors of EBONY magazine and its staff, and is determined by the work, accomplishments and influential reach of each of the honorees.

The past year has been an epic period of accomplishment and triumph for the African-American community. Black Panther became a cultural phenomenon that swept the globe, becoming the biggest-grossing movie directed by a Black filmmaker; social activist Tarana Burke continued to represent #MeToo movement as a global icon for victims of sexual harassment throughout the world; and several African-American lawmakers across the country made history, among them London Breed, the first Black female LGBT mayor.

The 2018 EBONY Power 100 List recognizes the most influential and inspiring from the African-American community in the following eight categories: “Community Crusaders,” “Disruptors,” “Entertainment & Arts,” “Entrepreneurs,” “Innovators,” “MVPs,” “Power Players” and the coveted “Women Up.” .

“We are delighted to announce this year’s coveted EBONY Power 100 List of exemplary honorees,” says EBONY Media Operations CEO Michael Gibson. “Each year, we select the most outstanding individuals and prolific leaders who represent today’s African-American community and excellence in their respective fields. Over the past year we have witnessed pioneers from Hollywood, professional athletes from numerous sports, politicians and lawmakers throughout the country, business leaders from close-knit neighborhoods and heroic community activists all emerge as trailblazers and firebrands, each of whom who has made a significant impact on a national or international scale. In 2020, we will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of EBONY magazine, and we look forward to this year’s pre-cursor of what will be a momentous occasion. I would like to congratulate all our 2018 Power 100 honorees.”

Former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama lead the Entertainment & Arts category, with a focus on Mrs. Obama’s book tour for her new memoir, Becoming. Barry Jenkins, director of the Academy Award-winning Moonlight and the upcoming film If Beale Street Could Talk, is also being honored in the Entertainment & Arts category for his achievements in the film industry. Tony Award-winning actor Billy Porter is another Entertainment & Arts honoree for his role in the television series Pose. Other notables being honored in the Entertainment & Arts category include the cast of Black Panther, and rappers Cardi B, Drake and Travis Scott. Athletes being honored in the MVPs category include Houston Rockets guard James Harden, Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry and professional WWE wrestler Thaddeus Bullard aka WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil.

2018 EBONY Power 100 List also includes politicians and lawmakers who made the news over the past year. These include Stacey Abrams, the first Black Georgia Democratic gubernatorial nominee (honored in The Disruptors category); Andrew Gillum, Mayor of Tallahassee and the first Black candidate for governor of Florida (honored in Disruptors category); Keisha Lance Bottoms, the second Black female mayor of Atlanta (honored in the Women Up category); and London Breed, the first Black female LGBT mayor of San Francisco (also honored in the Women Up category).

Other honorees run the gamut of industry, community activism and more. Tarana Burke needs no introduction as an African-American civil rights activist from The Bronx who achieved global acclaim after starting the #MeToo movement. Tarana will be recognized in the Community Crusaders category. Rosalind Brewer will be recognized in the Women Up category as the first African-American woman to the hold the position as Group President and Chief Operating Officer at Starbucks. Stacey D. Stewart, President, March of Dimes, will be recognized in the Disruptors category as the first African-American female president to lead the charitable organization. Junior Flip Kids, recognized in the Entrepreneurs category, is a company made up of six schoolchildren aged 7 to 13 years old, who met with Oprah Winfrey before starting their business to transform distressed properties into renovated single-family homes in Washington D.C, and Maryland. Cheryl “Action” Jackson will be recognized in the Community Crusaders category for Minnie’s Pantry, an organization that has provided over 6 million meals to families in need.

Honorees are recognized each year at the EBONY Power 100 Gala, presented by Nationwide. The event will take place this year Nov. 30 in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton. During the gala, the prestigious EBONY Power 100 Award recipients will be recognized for their contributions to business and industry.

“Nationwide is pleased to once again partner with Ebony magazine to honor and celebrate this year’s distinguished Ebony Power 100 honorees,” says Nationwide Chief Administrative Officer Gale V. King. “Congratulations to these men and women for leading extraordinary lives — for making a difference in their chosen fields – and being a force for good. We look forward to celebrating their accomplishments and contributions at the November gala.”

The 2019 Civic Type R and Civic Hatchback return with upgraded interior features, standard Honda Sensing®on Civic Hatchback, and Sonic Gray Pearl available on Civic Type R for the first time in the U.S. The changes build on the edgy styling, fun-to-drive nature, versatility and premium features that made Civic Hatchback and Civic Type R instant hits last year after joining the award-winning 10-generation Civic lineup. The 2019 Civic Hatchback and Civic Type R go on-sale at Honda dealerships beginning Saturday, November 3 with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP1) starting at $21,450 for Hatchback, and $35,700 for Type R (excluding $895 destination and handling).

Both models benefit from multiple interior updates designed to provide drivers with a more comfortable and efficient in-vehicle experience. Enhancements to technology and connectivity include an updated Display Audio system that now features physical buttons and a volume knob for more intuitive control, improved voice recognition and Bluetooth® connectivity, a USB sub-cord and, similar to previous models, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration standard on EX trims and above. In addition, steering wheel controls have been upgraded for simplified operation, the electronic parking brake has an indicator light for when it’s engaged, the center console sports larger cupholders, and there are physical buttons for fan speed on models with dual-zone climate control.

Civic Hatchback
At 20 percent of all Civic sales, Civic Hatchback is a key player in the Civic lineup, which continues as the top-selling retail car in America this year2 — a position it has held in each of the past two years. Civic Hatchback Sport, with its combination of eye-catching good looks and a dynamic driving feel, was named a 2017 AUTOMOBILE All-Star, a list dominated by sports cars and luxury marques. Civic Hatchback Sport, along with Civic Type R and Civic Si, also earned a coveted spot on the Car and Driver 10 Best list for 2018. Perhaps best of all, Civic Hatchback’s lively demeanor doesn’t detract from excellent EPA fuel economy ratings of 31/40/34 mpg3(city/highway/combined) for the LX, EX & EX-L Navi trims with continuously variable transmission (CVT).

For 2019, Civic Hatchback again will be available in LX, Sport, EX, EX-L with Navigation, and Sport Touring trims. It’s powered by a 1.5-liter DOHC direct-injected turbo in-line 4-cylinder with peak output of 174 horsepower4 in LX, EX and EX-L Navi trims. Civic Hatchback Sport and Sport Touring trims bump peak power to 180 horsepower4

For the 2019 model year, Civic Hatchback includes Honda Sensing® safety and driver-assistive technologies as standard equipment on all trims. Honda Sensing®includes Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow.

Civic Type R
Civic Type R stormed onto the U.S. market last year, with an exclusive 2.0-liter 306-horsepower direct-injected VTEC® Turbo 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed manual transmission with automatic rev matching. With an adjustable suspension that includes Comfort, Sport and +R modes, Civic Type R is suitable as a civil and practical daily driver, with 22/28/25 city/highway/combined EPA fuel economy ratings, or an aggressive track star that has shattered records at some of Europe’s most celebrated racing circuits, including the famed Nürburgring.

Civic Type R has won numerous accolades since its introduction, including being named a 2018 AUTOMOBILE All-Star, and a 2018 Editor’s Choice by Car and Driver. On the racing front, Civic Type R TCR dominated the Pirelli World Challenge series by way of 11 podium finishes over the 12-race season en route to the championship.

In addition to the interior updates, the 2019 Civic Type R adds Sonic Gray Pearl to its palette of exterior color choices that also includes Championship White, a color exclusive to Civic Type R.

The 2019 Civic Hatchback and Civic Type R for the U.S. market are both manufactured exclusively by Honda’s Swindon, UK plant. The 2.0T engine for Civic Type R is produced in Honda’s largest automobile engine plant, in Anna, Ohio, using domestic and globally sourced parts.

ASHS CONFRONTS TURBULENT RELATIONSHIP

ASHS is back with her new single “Without You” via Wax Records/ Casablanca Records/Universal Music Canada. “Without You” is a poignant look at a duplicitous relationship, with cutting lyrics: “Boy you say you love me but it’s only for pretend though. F*** your stupid games, you play my heart like a Nintendo.”

“Without You” follows the debut EP 3AM, which included the viral sensation “More Than Friends” (peaked at #4 on the Spotify US Viral Chart).

“’Without You’ is about that moment when the smoke clears and you’re finally able to acknowledge that the person you were with wasn’t as good for you as you first thought,” said ASHS. “It’s the realization that you have put in more than you got out, and that you just need to take a step back and breathe. The feeling of numbness and uncertainty of what life is now going to be like without that person. That first breath of air.”
