Discovered by K-Pop superstar artist/producer Teddy Park and YG Entertainment (the multi-faceted South Korean entertainment company responsible for the breakout successes of Big Bang, PSY, and 2NE1, among many others ), BLACKPINK’s lineup includes Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé. The group made its debut in August 2016 with a massively popular pair of singles: “Boombayah” and “Whistle,” which debuted at #1 and #2 on Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart. That November, BLACKPINK delivered their singles “Stay” and “Playing with Fire,” their second single to reach #1 on World Digital Songs. Kyrsten Sinema Wins Arizona’s U.S. Senate Seat

By Reid Urban

Arizona is finally getting its first female U.S. senator.

Democrat Krysten Sinema rode a wave of Maricopa County voters, as well as voters from her opponent Martha McSally’s congressional district in Tucson, to give her the edge and the eventual win for the Arizona U.S. Senate seat that was being vacated by Jeff Flake.

The Associated Press called the race for Sinema Monday night and McSally ceded, tweeting congratulations to Sinema.

Sinema will become the first woman in the state’s 106-year history to take a seat in the U.S. Senate.

So how did Sinema manage to win? She played towards the moderate Republican voters, the independent voters, and the suburban women, who were anxious about the polarizing politics in the era of President Donald Trump. That gave her the advantage in the urban areas of Arizona. It was too great for McSally to make up.

Sinema maintained that lead on Monday and grew even more with the latest batch of early ballots. With that, she defeated the Republicans’ hopes of maintaining the seat.

Wisconsin Osthoff Resort

Wisconsin

By Krishan Narsinghani

Wisconsin is known for their cheese and ice creams. A major food one may overlook is the Wisconsin cranberry. 360 Magazine had the opportunity to visit their tourism team for an exploration of lodging, dining, cranberry wonders and more.

The trip began at the Osthoff Resort at Elkhart Lake, a quaint fairytale land that makes a city kid feel free. The plot roots back to the age of the Potawatomi Native American Tribe, where the area still inhibits the same wholistic lifestyle. In 1885, the Osthoff Resort was built by Auto Osthoff and reimagined 100 years later to the four Diamond AAA rated majestic lodge guests see today. The 248 room boasts 1, 2, and 3-bedroom suites that fancy a kitchen (or kitchenette) and an individual private balcony. The grand hotel is the perfect family getaway, especially in the Summer. With a three-tear lake deck and Mirror Lake, there’s no disappointment when it comes to adult and kid-friendly activities. The deck includes a bar, live entertainment along with water sports open to guests and the public – aqua cycles, power boats, sailboats and pontoon cruises.

The resort offers a handful of different restaurants to try, Lola’s On The Lake being the choice for media on their first night. Lola’s infuses their dishes with fresh ingredients from the Osthoff Gardens that harvest over 11,000 pounds of produce including edible flowers available in 2019. It’s a farm to table atmosphere while the menu is consistently changes. 360’s personal favorite was the Rib Eye Steak Special with Potato Donuts. This mouth-watering meal introduced savory and sweet for new flavors that will wow your tastebuds.

360 Magazine enjoyed an afternoon cooking class inspired from their wellness menu that featured nutrient dense and natural sugar items. The foods prepared are purposely chosen so more guests with dietary restrictions can participate and indulge. Courses included a Lemon and Raspberry Chia Seed Pudding, Overnight Oats, Egg Shakshuka (Baked Eggs with Feta, Garden Tomato Sauce and Cilantro) and a Quinoa Salad with Halibut. The Shakshuka wafted aromatic Middle Eastern flavors that start your pallet off right and finishes with a taste of creamy tomato sauce and powerful spices.

Others enjoyed a natural spa and wellness treatment at Aspira, which translates to “infused with spirit.” Guests rejuvenate themselves through a variety of specials such as the meditation sanctuary that binds water from Elkhart Lake and hydrating cranberry facials.

In 1857, Wisconsin birthed Steven’s Point Brewery, the third-oldest independently owned and continuously operating brewhouse in the United States. The guided tour and tasting throughout the facility showcased new craft beers and history that withstood the Civil War, prohibition and The Great Depression. Their pilot brewing system has the capacity to make ten barrels of beer at one time essentially creating a microbrewery inside of a craft brewery. Enjoy a refreshing pineapple flavor, white chocolate stout or Octoberfest.

Ride along Cranberry Highway to Gottschalk Cranberry Marsh to witness a breathtaking sea of red fruits. Throughout the Fall season, visitors can drive around 50 miles of these beds from Wisconsin Rapids to Warrens. This antioxidant rich treat is grown on low running vines at bogs and later flooded with water. The berries float to the top and are harvested by picking machines. Local restaurants like Great Expectations (originally a fully women-owned business) incorporate these cranberries into nearly all their dishes. These partnerships make for signature items like their House-Made Ginger-Cranberry Moscow Mule and Unforgettable Grilled Cheese with Cran-Pepper Jam.

One of America’s favorite juices, Ocean Spray, is headquartered on a 70 acre manufacturing facility. Producing 3.6 millions gallons of concentrate a year, the company utilizes a complex system. Wisconsin will produce 5.9 million barrels of cranberries in 2018 making so called, “America’s Dairyland,” the nation’s No. 1 cranberry producer.

Overall, 360 left with a delightful taste and an aura revitalized. When visiting Wisconsin, come prepared with an empty stomach and an open mind for well-deserved Midwestern hospitality.

Update On The Woolsey Fire

By Reid Urban

Cal Fire authorities on Monday updated the number of structures that were set ablaze as a result of the Woolsey Fire. That number now sits at more than 370 structures.

The fire itself has burned more than 91,000 acres. Mandatory evacuation orders remain in effects for the cities of Mailbu, Calabasas and Hidden Hills, as well as the communities of West Hills, Monte Nido, Gated Oaks and Topanga. Meanwhile, the evacuation orders have been lifted for both Agoura Hills and Westlake Village.

Structures that have burned include vineyards, historical sites and homes, including residences of many popular celebrities like Gerard Butler, director Scott Derrickson, and musician Miley Cyrus. More than 250,000 people have displaced as a result of the fires. Three firefighters have sustained injuries battling the flames.

Malibu City Councilman Skylar Peak said on Saturday about the fire, “This is the most destructive and devastating fire that I’ve witnessed since the 1993 fires.”

California Governor Jerry Brown requested a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration to bolster the ongoing emergency response battling the major fires in both the LA and Ventura Counties, as well as in Butte County where the Camp Fire continues to spread.

Taste on Melrose, 360 MAGAZINE, la

Taste On Melrose

Taste On Melrose is one of LA’s hippest brunch spots. Ultra chic Hollywood hopefuls alongside of handcrafted cocktails with a Kobe burger make this place popping. Yet, the sweet tasting crispy bacon inside a viscous side of macaroni and cheese still isn’t enough to cover up some of the front of house issues. With no reservations, expect to wait up to an hour or so. Once seated, our beverages and appetizers still didn’t make it to our table until another hour. Don’t fret because management is cognizant of their spotty service and will amend your bill to make up for any misadventures. Nevertheless, this Parisian-style sidewalk dining experience is still worthy of your patronage, especially if you have a flair for fashion and enjoy people watching.

How To Identify A Rolex Watch

The vast majority of people are unable to tell a genuine Rolex watch from a fake one. This is a critical feature whenever products with a significant market value are concerned.

A record was achieved in October of 2017, as the Rolex Daytona watch model that belonged to famous actor Paul Newman was auctioned off for 17.8 million at the Philips Auction House in New York. This extraordinary amount allowed this watch to become the most expensive Rolex watch ever auctioned.

Despite the celebrity and refinement of this watchmaking process, about 70% of the people are unable to notice the difference between a genuine Rolex model and a fake one. That is also important because Rolex watches are among the most forged items in the world, due to their worth and charm.

When it comes to identifying genuine Rolex watches, there are six elements that you should know to help identify these watches:

Magnifying A Rolex Watch

Many Rolex watches feature a calendar within the quadrant (usually near the 3). In order to warrant the optimal working of every element, this calendar is small and, in order to read it correct, genuine Rolex models feature a 2.5x magnifying glass (called a Cyclops). Fake Rolex models usually feature no lens, mount a smaller lens, or have a simple, non-magnifying, glass element.

Weight of a Rolex Watch

It often happens that fake Rolex models weigh less than the genuine ones. This is because genuine Rolex models are created with materials of the highest quality having a greater weight.

Water Test

Rolex watch models are watertight and fully hermetic. They can resist being immersed in water for a few seconds. Usually, fake Rolex models do not have this feature, and this allows water to seep in. Specific Rolex models, like the Submariner, have been specifically created for deeb scuba diving.

Engraving of a Rolex

Perfection lies in the details. That details allows those to identify and tell a genuine Rolex model from a copy of one. In the vast majority of cases, the engraving featured in fake Rolex models is imperfect and confirms the lack of percision by the producers of fake Rolex watch models.

Rear of a Rolex Watch Case

Besides some very rare models, many produced during the 1930s, the rear of a Rolex watch case is never made of glass, crystal, or plastics. Therefore, they are not see-through. Many producers of fake Rolex watch models usually make the rear of their watch case of transparent materials, in order to cheat buyers by showing them the “precision” of the inner gears.

Furthermore, genuine Rolex watch models feature engraving within its watch cases rather than in the rear.

Hands of Rolex Watches

The gears of Rolex watches have a fluid movement, and their hands do not spring nor move irregularly. Even the ticking of a Rolex watch is both fluid and constant, being very homogeneous in nature. This does not happen with fake Rolex models, as they have an evident and irregular ticking instead.

Rolex watches are a symbol of luxury and elegance. As a result, they are subject to significant faking and forgeries. The differences between genuine and fake models are not so evident. The presence of more shoddy elements may be detected by carefully examining a watch when it is a fake, but only acutal experts are able to ascertain the authenticity of any given Rolex watch model.
