ShinePay Laundry Payment App

By Hannah DiPilato

The new app ShinePay brings laundry payment to your pocket with the new convenient app. This is a way for apartments or laundromats to easily add phone payments for their customers.

Customers download the ShinePay app and add a payment method. Each washer and dryer will have a unique QR code that customers will scan to view prices and submit wifi. Funds are then transferred to the owner’s ShinePay account which can be securely withdrawn.

ShinePay installs with new or existing units with ease and the ShinePay Bluetooth Spark installation can be completed in just a few minutes. The ShinePay Bluetooth Spark installation can work by itself or be installed to work in conjunction with other existing ways to pay. The system does not require wifi or any equipment besides the customers’ smartphone. There’s even a video that shows how easy the installation is.

The ShinePay Bluetooth Spark only costs a one-time payment of $149 per unit for the price of each hardware. The transaction fee, which only applies to electronic transactions, is 3.9%. ShinePay also helps to reduce the cost of coin transportation when transitioning to a coin-free laundry service.

ShinePay also brings a new level of safety and security to the laundry room. By going coinless thieves have nothing to steal, so you can own your machines with peace of mind. The company also keeps data security as a top priority and keeps all customers’ data safe. ShinePay also stores, decrypts, and transmits customers’ card numbers in a hosting infrastructure that is entirely separate from ShinePay’s primary services.

Certified to the most rigorous Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), ShinePay ensures security. The company has also obtained global regulatory licenses. The payment technology the company uses has a PCI DSS Level 1 certification which is the most stringent level of certification in the payment industry. There is also advanced fraud detection put in place to protect against imposters.

Support is given to both owners and customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week by phone, chat and email. This provides around the clock support for any questions regarding ShinePay. The brand is always improving its platform and continuously adds new features.

ShinePay has also introduced ShineKiosk, a payment system where customers don’t need to download an app. This system is perfect for hotels, laundromats or apartment buildings where people are just passing through. The ShineKiosk requires a one-time hardware payment of $899 and a monthly cost of $25. There is the same 3.9% transaction fee for ShineKiosk transactions.

Customers can type their card information into the secure system and payment is wirelessly sent to the selected machines. All you need to host a kiosk is a wall, power outlet and internet connection. ShineKiosk has the same security as the ShinePay app, so all credit card information is secure.

Is the gaming industry slightly taking over the entertainment world?

When someone talks about the entertainment industry, most of us think about music and cinema. Our very first associations to entertainment shows would be the Oscars, Grammys, talent shows, BRIT Awards, Music Awards and so on. The glamour in the film and music industry is undeniable. But would you be surprised to know that these are not the top-grossing entertainment sectors?

To be clearer, these two put together do not even match the revenue that the gaming industry is earning.  According to the latest figures, the video game business is larger than both the movie and music industry combines, making it an entertainment industry leader.

This year, the global gaming market is expected to generate more than $150 billion from more than 2.5 billion gamers worldwide. To compare the numbers, the global box office industry was worth $42.2 billion, while global music reached around $20 billion in revenue.

From blockbusters to classic TV series and music idols – they all have been gamified into popular online and console game characters. The casino gaming industry has embraced this potential and opportunity, offering various themes and types of the popular and traditional slots games.

When it comes to offers, gameplay and rules of this game, check out the latest choice of online slots and SlotsWise, varying from entertainment to adventure and futuristic scenarios.

The creation of these games is seen as a profitable plan for franchise owners to increase their revenue. However, these games are often thoroughly enjoyed by fans who get the chance to interact with characters and immerse in the themes of their favourite entertainment shows.

TV, film and gaming industries have been working closely for decades to deliver great entertainment and layered experience to the audience. Let’s take a look at how PC, mobile and console gaming as the main operational platforms of this industry evolved through the years and generated the revenue and attention that has today.

The smartphone revolution

Mobile gaming which involves smartphone and tablet gaming stands as the largest segment in this industry accounting for $69 billion of the total estimated revenue growing with 10% from 2018. This niche is expected to take up to 60% of the global gaming market by 2021, while console and PC gaming will go with 22% and 19% respectively.

Console gaming, on the other hand, is expected to generate $48 billion in revenue or growth with a 13% growth rate from last year. PC gaming is seen earning around $35.7 billion or growth of 4% compared to last year.
Clearly, mobile games have gone a long way since the very beginnings in the 90s when the famous “Snake” was pre-installed in over 400 million Nokia phones.

Although mobile gaming was interrupted in the growth process when the trend switched back to consoles, known as the “console wars” period, the development of the smartphone, coupled with advancements in the internet, connectivity and applications, has paved the way for more exciting experiences with RPG ( role-playing game) and MMORPG ( multiplayer online role-playing game), becoming accessible to mobile phones.

What is e-sports?

E-sports stands for electronic sports which is a type of competition that involves the use of video games. A typical e-sports tournament takes the form of multiplayer video game competitions between professional gamers and their teams. Most common genres played today are online battle arenas and real-time strategy games. The most prestigious e-sport competitions today are Dota 2, League of Legends and Fortnite. With its growing popularity over the years, e-sports has raised casual gaming into a profession, making it a game of skill, strategy and team play. Today, being a professional gamer can be an attractive career choice, as numerous competitions are being organised in a different part of the world.

Thousands, to millions of dollars, have been given away as winning prices. For example, the prize pool for the most recent Dota 2 tournament reached over $30 million

Although e-sports is now a billion-dollar industry, not many mass media companies have been covering the competitions and expansion of this market. This situation significantly changed this year, as many sports competitions and disciplines including the traditional sports betting turned to e-sports in order to adapt the business model.

Gaming is no longer a hobby and to describe it as a niche market would be an understatement. This is an industry with a wide potential for growth and continuous innovation. The rapid rise of technology already brought this industry to other platforms such as cloud gaming and VR /AR gaming.

5G Car Connection

5G Will Shift C-V2X into High Gear

By 2035, 83 million 5G connected cars will be on the road, making them safer and greener

While the commercial rollout of 5G for consumers is in full swing, the new generation of cellular connectivity will also have a transformative effect on roadways worldwide. Soon, in 2023, cars will start to communicate with each other to increase overall road safety and traffic. According to recent figures published by global tech advisory firm ABI Research, a total of 41 million 5G connected cars will already be on roads by 2030. That number will rise to 83 million 5G connected cars by 2035. By then, 5G connected cars will make up more than 75% of the total C-V2X equipped cars.

“These numbers underline the huge momentum for cellular connectivity, and particularly 5G, in the automotive sector,” says Leo Gergs, Research Analyst for 5G Markets at ABI Research. “As a consequence, we will see a rising number of automotive OEMs start developing C-V2X modules for their cars during 2020. We can then expect the first 5G connected cars on the roads in 2022.”

While leading car manufacturer Ford already announced new car models equipped with C-V2X for 2021, other automotive heavyweights like Audi, BMW, and Volkswagen have all partnered up with the likes of Ericsson, Huawei, and Nokia to commence large-scale trial projects to test the capabilities of cellular technology for connected car use cases. The results of these proof-of-concept projects are auspicious and show that, through enhancing traffic efficiency, 5G can reduce fuel consumption by up to one third. “More importantly, however, the sharing of sensor data will make overtaking much safer and will be critical to protecting vulnerable road users (such as pedestrians or cyclists). Therefore, bringing 5G-based cellular connectivity into cars will be critical in making the vision of zero road traffic deaths a reality,” Gergs emphasizes.

In total, ABI Research has quantified the contribution of 5G to global GDP to reach US$17 trillion by 2035. A large part of that global GDP will be through increasing the safety of road traffic, which will reduce health care expenditure drastically and take pressure off doctors and hospitals.

“To unlock all these benefits, public authorities and transportation infrastructure owners need to realize their responsibility to fund the installation of cellular networks and enable the widespread deployment of C-V2X to make road traffic safer and greener,” Gergs concludes. “Recent developments around the FCC’s decision to open up the 5.9 GHz frequency for C-V2X technology is a first step in the right direction. Now, other regulators need to follow. Furthermore, both infrastructure vendors and network operators need to wake up and work closely with automotive manufacturers to make 5G a success for connected cars.”

These findings are from ABI Research’s 5G in Automotive and Smart Transportation application analysis report. This report is part of the company’s 5G Markets research service, which includes research, data, and analyst insights. Based on extensive primary interviews, Application Analysis reports present in-depth analysis on key market trends and factors for a specific technology.

APPLE × SAMSUNG

OF SMARTPHONES AND SUPREMACY —THE NEVER ENDING RACE BETWEEN APPLE AND SAMSUNG

Written by: Amardeep Singh

2016 and 2017 have been strange years for smartphone giants that seem to show no signs of backing out on every front. From Samsung‘s gadgets being seen as potential explosive bombs to Apple admitting its dirty tactics in slowing down its older phones for better sales, from Nokia making a valiant return with the 3310 to Google releasing Pixel. But before techies and phone savants declare their opinions on the best phone for the year as 2017 comes to an end, it’s important to review two of the most happening smartphones that had gripped everyone in hype.

IT’S ALL IN THE SPECIFICATIONS

The iPhone X debuted with a staggering size of 43.6 × 70.9 × 7.7 mm (5.65 × 2.79 × 0.30 inches) showing an absent home screen button when compared to the Note 8’s size of 162.5 × 74.8 × 8.6 mm (6.40 × 2.95 × 0.34 inches).

Initial advertisements by Apple boasted several of the phone’s  features such as a stunning 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display that shows a beautiful 2,436 × 1,125 pixels (458 ppi) home screen. Apple wasn’t just betting on visual appeal to be the main selling point but it seems that the new animated emoji( called animoji) clearly took the stage at the keynote speech.

The phone runs on an A11 Bionic  64-bit architecture with a 2716 mAh battery that Apple promises to power 12 hours of internet, 13 hours of video playback, 21 hours of talk time and up to 60 hours of audio playback. Cameras have seen a vast improvement in the latest release with a M10 motion co-processor being coupled with a dual 12MP rear (both with OIS) and a 7MP True Depth front that captures images up to 4K at 60fps. Video making too has been augmented with users now being able to shoot 1080p at 240fps. Beneath the silver or space Gray exterior the, the provides up to 64GB or 256GB of storage space and the newest iOS 11 framework.

All this for a standard price of nearly a $1000 which is likely to increase in the coming months as Apple hints the possible release of more color variants and even a rumored iPhone 9.

The Note 8 too isn’t much far in that regard when it comes to technology. While slightly heavier than its counterpart, the phone still takes the lead with a 162.5 × 74.8 × 8.6 mm (6.40 × 2.95 × 0.34 inches) size with a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display and a 2,960 × 1,440 (522 ppi) resolution. While the rear camera is no different than the iPhone ‘s12 MP feature, the front has an 8 MP capability. Early reviews stated that the phone hosts features to create videos at 4K at 30fps and 720p at 240fps. The Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 (U.S.)/Samsung Exynos 8895 (international) processor allows for 22 hours of talk time, 13 hours of internet, 16 hours of video playback, and up to 74 hours of audio playback.

Available at three storage spaces of 64GB (U.S.) 128, 256GB (International) and two colors of midnight black and orchid gray, the phone will cost buyers $ 930.

VERDICT— WHAT THE PUBLIC HAS TO SAY

The iPhone X launch brought some radical changes to its generation of smartphones which were welcomed by some but ridiculed and criticized by most. Despite showing some amazing sales figures when compared to the iPhone 7 which was considered to be no less than disastrous on the public front, the Note 8 still holds a competitive edge against the former.

Buyers are specifically amazed at the uses for Google Assistant and the S pen along with several other features such as Bixy, peripheral ports and its special lock-in procedures.

However, newer versions of the Note 8 have attracted some hindrance after users reported that they were unable to charge even on plugging after using them for the first time. Users are also dissatisfied with facial detection, screen burning and short battery lives on the latest iPhone. And the company too seems to be on thin ice as it revealed details about slowing down ageing phones which took a big crunch at its stock prices.

But only time will tell if either company can maintain a stronghold of their investors and consumers as the year comes to another end.
