With lodging available on-site, including 30 cabins, 222 campsites and a new hotel opening this fall, it makes for the perfect outdoor weekend with dad.

Only accessible by hiking, LeConte Lodge is located within the Smoky Mountains National Park where its guests can enjoy breathtaking views, a quaint atmosphere and delicious family-style meals. Unplug from the world for the weekend and enjoy the spectacular sunsets and sunrises atop the mountain while basking in the sounds of nature. Dad can drift the day away along one of the natural wonders of the world, Reelfoot Lake, while reeling in one or more of the 50 species of fish in the lake including largemouth bass, catfish, bream and crappies. Guests can take in the beauty of west Tennessee by canoeing or kayaking along the 20-mile lake showcasing bald cypress trees while keeping a lookout for the area’s birds up high in the trees. Reelfoot Lake also offers boat cruises, deep swamp canoe trips and duck hunting trips.

For all the sport-lovin’ dads out there, Tennessee has plenty of fun. Have dad join in on the history-making debut of the Ally 400 NASCAR Cup Series Race at Nashville Superspeedway Sunday, June 20. This inaugural event will be filled with all the family-fun entertainment for racing lovers. Make it a weekend of racing with tickets not only to the NASCAR Cup Series race but also to the Xfinity Series June 19 and Rackley Roofing 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series June 18 all located at the Nashville Superspeedway.

Take dad out to the ballpark Father’s Day weekend with tickets to the Chattanooga Lookout vs. Tennessee Smokies baseball series. The two teams are set to play all weekend long with games June 15-20 at the Tennessee Smokies’ stadium. For more information on the upcoming series, click HERE.

OBSERVAMÉ Apparel Line

ATTORNEY AND FORMER LAW SCHOOL ASSISTANT DEAN LAUNCHES INNOVATIVE ATHLETIC, ATHLEISURE, AND HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL APPAREL LINE OBSERVAMÉ

After a year of research and development, ObservaMé launched a line of sports, athleisure and healthcare professional apparel that sets the company apart from other brands in the industry. Karen D. Fultz-Robinson, a former attorney now fashion designer, has chosen the United States, specifically Tampa, to be the headquarters for all activities involving the design, manufacturing and distribution of the ObservaMé clothing lines for men and women.

The ObservaMé brand was developed to meet the demands of those living active lifestyles while addressing the need for easy access to personal fitness trackers and watches while training. All active wear shirts include a provisionally patented, one-of-a-kind, design that allows for easy viewing and access to fitness devices directly through the sleeve. Recently, Fultz-Robinson also learned that there was a need for the patent design to allow access to watches in the medical field, which led to the development of the ObservaMé compression sleeves.

As a marathon runner, Fultz-Robinson knows that training happens under many weather conditions and access to fitness tracking devices should not be a distraction. The ObservaMé design concept was born during a 15-mile run. Fultz-Robinson developed sketches and assembled a team to help her put together the mock-ups and final patterns.

“As an athlete, regardless of weather, I wanted to track my progress – pace, heart rate, and distance, and sometimes you just want to know what time it is,” said Fultz-Robinson. “Why should something seemingly so simple be difficult to access?  Athletes or anyone living an active lifestyle shouldn’t have to struggle to view their devices.”

Today, the product line has grown to include the signature shirts along with vests and performance pants and a variety of accessories. ObservaMé’s brand name was also chosen by Fultz-Robinson to explain the company’s purpose for its customers. ObservaMé means “watch me” in Spanish.

“We help the consumer watch their performance and provide a stylish look that draws others to watch them as they compete or overcome performance barriers,” said Fultz-Robinson. “It references the clocks (watches) on our wrists but also encourages accountability, which helps us strive to maintain our fitness goals.”

While all long-sleeved ObservaMé apparel has been designed to stop the need for tugging or placing straps over the sleeve, each article of ObservaMé active wear is hand-made with high-quality dry wick material and some provide UV protection for active lifestyles (i.e., running, cycling, hiking, boating, golfing, hunting, and etc.). The streamlined designs contour to all body types for easy flexibility during any activity and all-day comfort, and the fabric is soft to the touch which prevents chaffing. The compression sleeves, which also provides easy access to watches and fitness trackers, can be used by athletes for sun protection or quickly convertible warmth, but have also been tested for use by those in the medical profession to prevent skin contact with inadvertent splashes from contaminants while allowing for monitoring vitals and staying warm.

The ObservaMé apparel line for men includes half-zip and crewneck shirts, hoodies, vests, full-zip jackets with hoods and performance pants. Women’s athletic/athleisure wear includes half-zip and V-neck shirts, full-zip jackets with hoods (with a high/low option), vests, hoodies, and long and capris style performance pants. All apparel is available for purchase at www.observame.net, and during various athletic events nationally.   ObservaMé has previously appeared at the Boston and Detroit Marathons.

All products are manufactured at ObservaMé’s headquarters in Tampa, located at 14260 Carlson Circle, under Fultz-Robinson’s supervision to ensure the quality of each product meets the high standard set by the company.

Before founding ObservaMé, Fultz-Robinson practiced state and federal commercial and business litigation with the Tampa office of Sheehe & Associates, P.A., and was an assistant dean and professor at Cooley Law School’s Tampa Bay campus. Before moving to Florida, she was a partner and practiced commercial, business, subrogation and recovery litigation, as well as family law at the law firm of Cozen O’Connor in Atlanta, Georgia, and was an assistant vice president at Bank of America in the Estate Settlement Division. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Fultz-Robinson earned her bachelor’s degree in International Relations at Michigan State University and juris doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s Lansing, Michigan campus.

Matt Kuchar Wins #8

Bridgestone Golf star Matt Kuchar kicked off his new season with a ‘working vacation’ he’ll never forget. Having recently been fit into the lower spinning TOUR B X ball and new JGR Driver, Kuchar proved the new combination to be a winning one, taking the title at the 2018 Mayakoba Golf Classic. The win south of the border was Kuchar’s first since 2014 and the eighth of his career.

Kuchar said about the win and about Bridgestone, “That Bridgestone ball is really something. How many wins is that for the TOUR B family in the last few months? Thanks to Bridgestone for being in my corner. I am excited to get back to the Tournament of Champions in a few weeks.”

The most unique golf courses in the world

Golf is no longer the sole preserve of retired couples in Florida or middle-aged men discussing business deals over the 19th hole. Millennials are fast becoming one of the largest demographics enjoying the world of golf, and there are a number of reasons for that. Not only is golf a great way to get outside and enjoy some light exercise, but it can also be a low-cost hobby. With 6.5 million millennials playing roughly 100 million rounds of golf a year, young golfers are becoming a much more common sight on the green. If you’ve been looking at your hobbies and wondering what to try next, these unique golf courses reveal that every location is different. If you’re keen to try something new and experience a game somewhere unusual, then these unique golf courses might inspire you to start working on your backswing.

1. The longest course

The Nullarbor Links Golf Course in Australia is not for the impatient. If you prefer your games to be short and sharp, then you might want to avoid the world’s longest golf course. Roughly 850 miles long, it can take an astonishing four to six days to complete a single round. It’s nice to know that there’s time between holes to rest and relax, with some holes needing a 30-mile drive before you can tee off. One of the best features of Nullarbor is that completing the course means that you have crossed two time zones, and that’s one for the bucket list. If you’ve got the dedication, then a round of golf here might just give you the sense of real achievement that you have been missing.

2. For winter lovers

If you fancy having a go at the coldest round of golf in the world, then you might need to head 500 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Uummannaq Greenland Golf is where they host the World Ice Golf Championships, and competitors are required to learn how to spot the first signs of frostbite before starting their game. Players are also warned about the dangers of seal dens and crevasses as well, so this is not a course for the faint-hearted! This is a long way from those warm conditions in Florida, and you’ll need to look at some quality golf clubs that can cope in the extreme conditions.

3. Extreme wildlife

The Legend Golf and Safari Resort in South Africa is known as one of the world’s top luxury destinations, and for golf lovers, it’s perfect. Not only is the course located in the center of a large wildlife preserve, but it also has a wide range of challenging holes to play. That’s because each hole was designed by a famous golfing legend, meaning each one is unique and challenging while being located in the heart of the African spectacle. For those truly wanting a challenge, the par-3 Extreme 19th hole is only accessible by helicopter and requires a tee shot that ends in a green shaped like Africa, with a 1,200-foot drop.

The face of golf is slowly changing. If you’ve always thought of the game as something for other people, then it might be time to have another look. Great for your health, the perfect way to get outside, and suitable for all skill levels, golf could end being the next big millennial trend that you end up falling in love with.

CULLINAN

CHANGE IS GOOD.

by Vaughn Lowery

As of late, Rolls-Royce invited a slew of journalists and digital influencers from around the globe to test out their newly introduced SUV. Jackson Hole, Wyoming is notably recognized for it’s elite residents and celebrity visitors alike, including Kanye West, Sandra Bullock and Harrison Ford. Yet, this time around the Snow King Resort and one of its steepest slopes had become acquainted with the Cullinan. Not the largest rough diamond found in South Africa in 1905 but the manufacturer’s first-ever sport utility vehicle. Yes, we couldn’t conceive that a Rolls could ever climb a mountain but seeing is believing.

As we ascended to the top with the 6000 lb gem, she started to metamorphose from a stately Caterpillar into bodacious butterfly. We went over unpaved trails and ruts all the way to the summit (8010 ft above sea level) for pastries and coffee. On the way down with merely a switch of a button we descended with ease over gravel and dirt all while being enamored by the Spirit of Ecstacy with her wings throwing caution to the wind.

On the road, we felt every bit of 563 hp (627 lb-ft torque @ 1600 rpm) as we swiveled through the two-lane main road with minimal traffic. Just as graceful as her siblings and as celebrated as the Phantom we witnessed tons of townies gawk at her effortless design and styling. Her grill kept in line with the overall DNA of the brand but its standard 22″ part polished shadow wheels matched her midnight sapphire exterior nicely.

Our deep scarlet red leather interior was enunciated with the usual technology and innovation of their BMW iDrive-inspired infotainment system as seen in the Ghost; however, in the back we had separate seats and access to tablet-like screens which erupted by the touch of a button. Along the back top panels were buttons to dial up or down the 22-speaker bespoke sound system which mimicked an IMAX theater. We bopped around the back in comfort and chit chatted with no outside noise due to their 200 lbs of sound-deadening insulation and privacy glass which lurks behind your head.

Like most automobiles in this segment, her dual-pane sunroof opened up wide enough for you to want to hop up and cleave your head out while screaming all the way to prom. Our model didn’t feature the tailgate retractable seats; but nonetheless this vehicle will most likely end up at some stadium for playoffs with a chilled champagne bottle and scotch in the back middle console with custom etched snifters.

This vehicle’s MSRP is $325,000 but our model tested was approximately $400,000. Is the price worth it? Hell yes! After all, this is the first in its family, which can conform to most terrains and excursions. Go figure, the youngest in its batting order can be used to pick the kids up from school, off-road and be chauffeured to Rihanna’s Annual Diamond Ball. It’s highly probable you may see this truck at a Costco’s as well as Jay-Z and Beyonce’s next On The Run tour. Having said that, this is most decidedly one of Rolls-Royce’s more practical vehicles as it will and can be used on an everyday basis. With its dynamic all-terrain capabilities, safety features and height, you’ll have more command of the road that any of its tribe members.
