JAX – 90s Kids

JAX does it for the “90s Kids”

Multi-talented singer-songwriter premieres nostalgia anthem, available now via Atlantic Records

STREAM “90S KIDS” HERE

Singer-songwriter Jax has premiered her highly anticipated new single “90s Kids” – available now via Atlantic Records. The nostalgia-fueled anthem became an instant fan-favorite after being previewed on TikTok late last year, packed with all the quintessential decade references from Tamagotchi to Britney Spears.

“I’m obviously a 90s kid, and grew up with all these amazing trends that I’m still obsessed with today” said Jax. “One night at 3am I was just thinking of all the times I’d watched ‘Saved By The Bell,’ played Super Smash Bros, danced to Britney Spears and I just put it all in a voice memo. Next thing I knew by sunrise I had this anthem to rep all my fellow 90s babies.”

“90s Kids” follows the release of “Ring Pop,” Jaxs major label-debut which yielded a massive viral response and high-profile appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Access Hollywood & more. Initially teased on TikTok, “Ring Pop” instantly captivated fans with its honest lyrics that perfectly encapsulate the emotions being felt by so many in today’s predicament. Her warm delivery coasting over dreamy guitar and snappy percussion as she croons to her boyfriend, “Don’t need no diamonds, you’re my rock, and I’m okay with a ring pop.

Raised in New Jersey by way of New York, Jax got her start by performing a wide variety of genres and in bands growing up. At the age of 18, she developed cancer above her vocal cords, which returned following a couple months of remission right as she relocated to Los Angeles in pursuit of her music. Left unable to sing herself, Jax turned to songwriting for others and found industry success behind-the-scenes.

As her ability to perform returned, Jax needed to pivot yet again when the COVID-19 pandemic struck. This time she turned to TikTok, posting a hilarious response to the pop gem “Stacy’s Mom” from “Stacy’s Mom’s Perspective” which exploded with nearly 9 million views in just a few months and “Update from Avril Lavigne & Sk8er Boi 18 years later” which became her most successful parody to date with over 14.5 million views. She continued to go viral a dozen or more times over, eventually amassing over 1.6 million followers on the platform, 200 million total views and 28 million “likes.” With a massive online audience under her belt, Jax began sharing her own original music in late 2020 to an overwhelmingly positive response – ultimately leading to her singing with Atlantic Records for her forthcoming debut full-length.

GIGI VEGA INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:

1. How has your family inspired you and your music?

GV: I would always do little shows and auditions. My father is a jazz musician. He would play the piano, so I was always surrounded by music, and theater as well.

2. What or who inspired your song “Watchu Tryna Do?”

GV: It just happened. Actually, had it for a while, but was finally able to come back to it. Originally, the lyrics were supposed to be “in the club”, instead of “in the crib”. But I had to make adjustments due to COVID 19

3. Talk about your producer on this song?

GV: Jack London. He has worked with the Chainsmokers.

4. Where do you get your ideas for songwriting?

GV: Melodies just come to me. Melodies come first for me. Lyrics come from everyday life experiences. I’ve always been into dancing and singing. It’s something that just clicked for me, but I got more into it once I started composing my own songs.

5. What charities are you aligned with and why?

GV: Anti-bullying programs.

6. What acting projects will you be involved with in the future?

GV: I will be in The Drone That Saved Christmas. Production begins in March. After that, I hope the COVID situation improves, so I can be touring.

7. Who are your biggest influences?

GV: Janet Jackson. Definitely into anyone who is super full out, and she is one of them.

8. What advice would you give to a singer starting out?

GV: Don’t let anyone steer you in the direction of what they want you to be – it is not worth it, ever.

9. Talk about your training as a triple threat, what do you do to stay on top?

GV: Just take a look at my Music video, it is all there. Acting, dancing, singing. I have trained in all three disciplines since I was very young. My dance training was focused on modern dance, but I am schooled in all disciplines. I have always been on stage or behind the camera, so it is second nature.

10. How do you take care of your voice?

GV: Regular training, like an athlete. Lots of lemon and pineapple juice, as well.

11. If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?

GV: Chris Brown or Jason Derulo. Dancer/singer like I am. Janet – anyone who is full out, as mentioned before.

12. What is on your playlist right now?

GV: Omarion, Michael Jackson, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Pop Smoke, Jason Derulo.

13. Who are you currently watching on TikTok?

GV: Everything that comes across my feed.:)

14. When did you know you wanted to be an entertainer?

GV: Never thought about anything else. I was on stage from an early age. I made the move from stage to commercial work in my teens. Once I learned how to write solid music, I knew I wanted to record music. It was a process. I spent hundreds of hours in the studio as a kid.

15. What artist did you admire as a child?

GV: I loved watching Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson is my absolute favorite.

16. Do you play any instruments?

GV: I pluck out notes on the piano and guitar to help my melodies. Had many lessons and music theory, but I won’t be accompanying myself just yet.

17. What’s your fashion style?

GV: I like more tropical vibes, or casual, put-together vibes, but I always like to switch it up. I can be glam or a Tomboy. Get a girl who can do both.

18. What do you do to relax?

GV: I love fashion, always putting fashion pieces together. I learned to sew as a child, went to classes and camps for years. I was one of those kids who got a new shirt, and then I would go to my room and change the shape and design. I love listening to music and writing. Honestly, writing is my happy space.

19. What other businesses do you plan on starting to promote your brand?

GV: I am very into sneakers and shoes. I have so many different designs in my head that need to come out.

20. What’s the one thing you think everyone could do to make the world a more positive place?

GV: Less judgment of others, especially strangers.

Christine Englehardt

Christine Englehardt: Marathon runner. Nursing student. An animal lover. Manager of Jules Thin Crust. A daughter and a friend with a laugh that lit up a room. Much like many other young people, Christine traveled to Miami Beach for Spring Break, looking forward to a relaxing vacation. Unfortunately, she traveled alone to The Magic City and was met with an unforgivable turn of events.

Christine was just 24 years old when Dorian Taylor and Evoire Collier drugged and brutally raped her on March 18, 2021. Miami Harold stated Christine was left for dead while her rapists stole her phone and credit cards before heading out to continue their night of partying. Christine was later found dead inside of her hotel room. Miami-Dade Medical Examiner is determining her cause of death.

Taylor and Collier continued to make purchases with Christine’s credit cards while Taylor was found with her phone days later. Miami Beach Detectives were able to track the men down with help from the hotel’s surveillance footage.

Vigil for Christine Englehardt

Please join us in honor of Christine Englehardtwho tragically lost her life this week. Residents of Miami Beach stand with the family of Christine Englehardt and vow for justice and these crimes to come to an end.

Jamaica International Airport Covid Testing Technology

As the World Rushes to Develop a Travel Passport, Jamaica’s International Airport is Already Using TPT MedTech’s Mobile QuikLAB(TM) End-to-End Testing, Monitoring, Vaccination App and QuikPASS(TM) Check and Verify Passport Platform to Screen.

We believe this Partnership is the first fully operational, comprehensive advanced testing platform in effort to keep travel open.

As the world searches for a complete testing solution regarding travel during Covid, Jamaica’s International Airport has already partnered with TPT Global Tech, Inc. (OTCQB:TPTW) and its subsidiary, TPT MedTech. The company is looking to deploy its QuikLAB™ and QuikPASS™ technology platforms as the “Check and Verify” Passport system for travelers. Already, Jamaica is checking travelers daily in and out of the country by the thousands.

The TPT/Jamaica Airport partnership allows tourists in the country to obtain the completely private and HIPPA compliant QuikPASS App from the TPT MedTech website and get tested at the Baywest Hospital and Clinics or another QuikLAB testing site on the island in order to receive their results electronically via the QuikPASS app. Once cleared to travel, a tourist is free to enter the airport, show or scan their QuikPASS QR code, which displays their HIPPA compliant testing records, in order to verify that they have been tested in the past 72 hours and are free and safe to travel home.

“While the world itches to get back to safe travel, we have been helping Jamaica’s airports achieve that for an entire month. From the UK to the US and beyond, our test and verify platform provides complete, safe and fully secure testing that is already being used to get travel back to normal in Jamaica and we look forward to working with airlines, cruise lines, hotels and entire countries to help them do the same,” said TPT Global Tech CEO Stephen J. Thomas III.

TPT MedTech developed its QuikPASS™ Check and Verify passport system and Covid 19/vaccination monitoring platform for corporations, governmental organizations, schools, airlines, hospitals, sports venues & arenas, restaurants, hotels, and nightclubs. The all-in-one mobile system checks and verifies that an individual has been tested for Covid-19 or vaccinated, providing proof individuals are able to travel or gain access to venues with the idea that everyone inside that venue would be Covid-free. The QuikPASS Check and Verify passport-style platform works with third-party testing labs and organizations that participate on the QuikPASS Network and will be offered for free to US domestic and international business commerce and governmental organizations around the world.

GLASS ANIMALS FEAT. IANN DIOR – HEATWAVES

GLASS ANIMALS RELEASES NEW VERSION OF “HEAT WAVES” FEATURING IANN DIOR

“HEAT WAVES” HOLDS #1 AT ALTERNATIVE RADIO AND #1 ON BILLBOARD ALTERNATIVE CHART FOR SECOND WEEK

“HEAT WAVES” CONTINUES TO CLIMB SINGLES CHARTS – HOLDS #1 IN AUSTRALIA AND #36 ON SPOTIFY GLOBAL TOP 50

LISTEN TO “HEAT WAVES” FEATURING IANN DIOR HERE

Heat Waves” by UK band Glass Animals was first released in June 2020, ahead of their third album Dreamland, which was put out later that summer. An instant hit with the established fan base, “Heat Waves” paved the way for the album. But this new version, which features rap star iann dior, is the tipping point of a song that has been on a serious journey of growth these last eight months. Listen to “Heat Waves” featuring iann dior HERE.

Since its initial release, “Heat Waves” has experienced a global rise in support that shows no signs of stopping. Having originally resonated with their fans, word of the song quickly spread, and the track started getting healthy traction on radio stations globally. Next came a sync placement on FIFA, which opened up a whole new audience for the band and helped the track begin to climb charts all over the world. “Heat Waves” was then notably crowned number 1 on Triple J’s Hottest 100 – an accolade not given to a UK band since 2009, with previous winners including Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish. A third surge in attention came more recently with an organic Minecraft affiliation. YouTuber LoverFella (2.3M subscribers) rebuilt a Glass Animals fan’s base and surprised her with a meet-and-greet with the band, who were waiting inside. Watch it HERE and the Extended BTS HERE. Dave Bayley recently sat down to chat about the track’s creation with Hrishikesh Hirway on the coveted Song Exploder Podcast. Listen to the interview HERE.

“Heat Waves” currently sits at #1 on the Alternative Radio Chart for the second consecutive week, a first for the band in their career. The song also climbed to #1 on Mediabase, #1 on Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart and #1 on Apple Music’s Alternative Genre Chart. The track continues to grow in popularity on the Top 40 Radio Chart (currently sitting at #23) and made its debut on Apple Music All Genres Chart.

Currently “Heat Waves” holds the #1 spot on the ARIA Official Singles Chart in Australia for the fourth consecutive week (the second longest positioned #1 song in 2021 for Australia after Olivia Rodrigo) and is holding strong on Spotify’s Global Top 50 Chart. It has over 2 million global adjusted single sales and 310 million global combined streams (200M on Spotify / 80M in the US). To date, “Heat Waves” peaked at 1.88 million daily streams and has received 14 million views of the video on YouTube. Glass Animals recently hit a new Spotify monthly listener peak of 16.3 million, surpassing the likes of Tame Impala, Gorillaz, The 1975 and The Strokes.

Bursting with all the wonderful tricks that we have come to expect from Glass Animals’ enigmatic front man and producer Dave Bayley, “Heat Waves” is a scorching, bass-heavy pop-trip hit, and the addition of iann dior brings a refreshing new dynamic to the track.

iann dior was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Texas. He found instant success with the first song he ever wrote. In early 2019, he signed a deal with Elliot Grainge’s 10K Projects and established himself as a lo-fi hip hop artist to watch, with early songs like “cutthroat” and “emotions.” iann went on to release “gone girl,” featuring fellow 10K Projects signee Trippie Redd, which provided a perfect lead up to his debut album Industry Plant. In mid-2020, iann dior featured on 24KGoldn’s “Mood,” and the single immediately began to climb the charts, becoming both 24KGoldn and iann dior’s first #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart.

Glass Animals’ album Dreamland entered UK charts on its opening week at #2 (their highest ever scoring chart position, a massive 21 spots above their last album, the Mercury Prize-nominated How To Be A Human Being) and charted inside the top 10 in the US, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. The album clocked up 160 million streams in its first week of release.

Daily Thrive by Vicky Justiz

By: Emily Bunn

Accomplished personal trainer and digital entrepreneur, Vicky Justiz, is taking her workouts to the next level with the debut of her fitness app, Daily Thrive by Vicky Justiz, now available on the App Store, Google Play, APPLE TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire, and ROKU.

Justiz started her career on her YouTube channel, where she has grown an impressive following of 1.69M subscribers, and is one of the platform’s top trainers. The fitness guru is now expanding her brand to her very own app, which features full-length workouts organized by difficulty, body part, and length, as well as hosts challenges, exercise schedules and fitness programs. A new exclusive workout is updated every Monday, granting users the versatility to switch up their routines and target different areas of the body. All of the workouts require zero equipment or commitment, so you can work out from the comfort of home alongside a professional personal trainer and community of like-minded individuals with similar fitness goals. Daily Thrive’s workouts can be downloaded from the app, so you can bring your virtual personal trainer everywhere you go.

Justiz demystifies nutrition and fitness in an approachable and exhilarating way, leaving users feeling and looking their best. Here at 360 Magazine, we chatted with Justiz about the exclusive content on her very own app, her dream of hosting a post-pandemic bootcamp workout, and her best tips regarding staying motivated to follow a consistent workout routine:

What inspired you to transition from only making videos on YouTube to creating content on Daily Thrive?

“I always knew I wanted to have my very own platform with the freedom to grow and expand and inspire others. I love YouTube and I owe all my success to that amazing platform, but at the end of the day, being on YouTube leaves me to the mercy of their algorithm. The YouTube algorithm is set up in a way that many creators have to resort to clickbait to be seen by a bigger percentage of their audience. For vlogs and entertainment videos, this is more than fine, but in the world of fitness, using clickbait can be damaging and harmful. It can make people feel like they can take quick fixes to get fast, drastic results. But that’s not how wellness and fitness works! Having Daily Thrive by Vicky Justiz, my very own workout app, allows me to focus on the stuff that truly matters-which is creating effective, fun workouts and content that will get people excited to be active, make them happier, and help them build habits! My focus is now on quality content that people truly need and want rather than what can get more “clicks” or more attention.”

Do you plan to keep creating YouTube videos, or do you see yourself transitioning into only using the Daily Thrive app?

“Absolutely! I do not plan on leaving YouTube any time soon. I will be putting most of my workout content exclusively on Daily Thrive, but leaving YouTube open to educational content, nutritional content, vlogs, etc. And of course, I will still be uploading workouts here and there for all my ladies (and gentleman) that cannot afford or do not want to commit to an app.”

Do fans who buy the app have access to any exclusive content that isn’t available on your YouTube?

“Oh yes! Absolutely–that’s the point. So far, we have about 30 full length workout classes that cannot be found anywhere else. These range anywhere from 10 mins to over an hour long. I also release a brand new, exclusive workout every single Monday. I was originally planning to have ONLY exclusive videos on the app, but I made a last-minute decision to import (most) of my YouTube content into the app as well. This will make it easier for those who want to use Daily Thrive but still have their favorite YouTube workouts they like to do. A key difference is that for the Daily Thrive app, we have removed any ads or sponsors from the YouTube videos. This way, you can go straight into the workout with no distractions!”

Obviously the classes on Daily Thrive are virtual. When COVID allows, would you be interested in guiding in-person workout classes as well?

“It is literally my dream to host a huge bootcamp workout class. You just can’t compare the energy you get in-person to virtual. It would be super hard to decide where to do these because my audience is very diverse. I literally work with someone in every single country in the world! It’s definitely a dream post-covid though…”

What is your biggest tip regarding sticking to a consistent workout regimen?

“My biggest tip is to start small. I like to go by something called the 5-minute rule. When you don’t feel like doing a workout, when you are coming up with a million excuses as to why you can’t, just show up and do something for 5 minutes.  Many times, we talk ourselves out of doing things, we let the idea of working out overwhelm us, but if we just show up, we get through the hardest part, and many times we muster the energy to keep going and finish through the actual workout. But my motto has always been that ‘something is better than nothing.’”

Do you have any tips for readers who may be interested in your app now that they’ve heard of it, but are new to working out?

“Start with the 28 Kickstart Challenge. This is a great challenge for any fitness level, and we have two “pre-retraining” workout classes that go very in depth on the form for each exercise. To stay motivated, join in on the fun in the Facebook community, on Instagram, etc. Seeing other likeminded women doing the challenge and workouts right alongside with you will give you motivation and you won’t feel alone! Daily Thrive also has a 7-day free trial with no commitment, so you can always try before you buy to make sure you love it (but I absolutely know that you will!).”

What is your favorite feature of your app?

“I wouldn’t necessarily call it a feature – it’s more of an approach. I am never ever afraid to show my struggle in my workouts. You will see me red faced, hair all over the place, having to stop to take a breath, cursing the workout, laughing at myself, and more. Its real and raw and I want you to feel like you are doing the workout with a friend rather than a robot fitness instructor. I want you to know that it’s absolutely okay to take a pause, to struggle, and to find it difficult. This is where growth comes from.”

Tips for Tax Filing in the Future

Tax time is near, and soon everyone will be rushing to get their taxes filed. Last year, Americans were met with quite a few delays in getting their refunds with the onset of the pandemic.

If you have a refund coming, the sooner you file, the sooner that refund will make its way into your bank account.

If you’re like most tax filers, you probably want to do everything you can to reduce your overall tax bill. We know that taxes are needed to run the government, but there’s no need for you as an individual to pay more than you need to.

Here are a few areas to consider or understand for future tax filing years:

  • Funding tax-preferenced accounts. One way to save on taxes is by putting money in various tax-preferenced savings accounts such as an IRA, a 401(k), and others. Depending on the account type, you can deduct your contribution each year, defer paying taxes on growth or take withdrawals tax-free. In health savings accounts (HSA), you can do all three. There are eligibility requirements you need to meet. An HSA can only be used for medical expenses.  With a traditional IRA, you don’t pay taxes on your contributions, and you defer taxes on the account’s growth. You do pay taxes on withdrawals you make in retirement. A Roth IRA has different advantages. You can’t deduct your contributions now, but your money grows tax-free, and you aren’t taxed when you make withdrawals.
  • Using a 529 for K-12 private or college education. Many people are familiar with 529 plans, but they often think of these solely to save for a college education fund. But a 529 can also be used to pay for a private school in elementary and high school. The significant tax advantage with a 529 is that you don’t pay federal income taxes on the account’s growth. However, you must spend the money on qualified educational expenses and nothing else. This is essential to remember and understand because if you use the money for other reasons, you will pay taxes on that withdrawal, and you will also pay the penalty. A 529 account is something to consider if you have children or grandchildren and want a tax-efficient way to save for K-12 or college education.
  • Making charitable donations. Charitable donations are a great tool for reducing your tax bill. They come with the bonus of allowing you to make a positive impact in your community. Through charitable donations, you can reduce your income tax, capital gains tax, and estate tax. Some people view this most straightforwardly – you choose an organization that qualifies under the tax rules to donate to. There are other ways to contribute as well: You can establish a donor-advised fund, which is a personal charitable account opened in the name of the donors and held by a nonprofit organization. For example, let’s say you sell a stock and, instead of paying the capital gains tax, you choose to place the proceeds in a donor-advised fund. You can claim the total amount as a charitable deduction, although you don’t have to donate the money in one lump sum. The money remains in the fund and can be donated in small amounts over a period of years while drawing interest.

These are just a few things you can consider as you look for ways to reduce your tax bill. Your financial professional will be able to help you work your way through the process and find what works best for you and your situation.
