So talented – Justin Bieber

Rising singer-songwriter Sam Tompkins, who has been championed by Elton John, Bastille and Justin Bieber, releases brand new single (w)hole today.

Produced by Laconic, the emotionally charged (w)hole not only showcases Tompkins’ powerful vocals but also his ability to intimately convey his own relatable experiences through candid, heartfelt lyrics. We all, at times, need to find that human connection to bring us out of an ocean sized hole.

I think ‘(w)hole’ is sort of a realisation of knowing that not every problem in the world can be fixed by one person, says Sam. If there is meaning or purpose to this life, it has to come from being and working alongside one another.

The accompanying music video for (w)hole is directed by award winning TV/Film director Josef Bates and set inside an elevator. A metaphorical deep dive into Sam’s mindscape, it charts his journey from a state of disconnect from hope and the positive side of life, back to happiness but by the end once he finds an escape.

(w)hole is the first official release from Sam Tompkins in 2021, and the first cut to be taken from his upcoming third EP release. It follows his 2020 released quarantine EP Isolation Diaries and singles Charlie and Kings.

22-year-old, Sam Tompkins started out busking on the streets of his local town, Brighton, and was signed to Island Records in 2019 after he caught their attention with his independently released debut EP Coloured Emotions which garnered over half a million streams.

Sam has performed live or recorded alongside Krept and Konan, Jason Derulo, Jaykae and MNEK, and welcomed support from the likes of Elton John and Bastille through to Channing Tatum and Justin Bieber, who, in a recent IG live chat with Sam told him You’re so talented… You’re already making an impact… You’re speaking to people’s heart with your music and its pretty awesome.

Alongside writing in lockdown last year, Sam posted a string of covers on his socials including ones of Bruno Mars’ Talking To The Moon and Beyonce’s Halo, which have notched up over 10 million views on Instagram and 3 million views on TikTok. With over 450,000 followers on Instagram and 430,000 on Tik Tok, Sam is garnering an ever growing, super engaged fanbase through his socials.

In addition to releasing new music this Autumn, Sam is set to embark on a sold-out Headline Tour in UK and Europe. Kicking off in Manchester on the 8th of October at Gorilla and wrapping up in Berlin on the 27th of October at Burg Schnabel, the tour will also see Sam play in London, Birmingham, Dublin, Nottingham, Brighton and Paris (see below for full list of dates). Tickets for the tour are available to purchase HERE.

About Tesher

Tesher, a multilingual rapper, singer-songwriter, producer and mixing engineer is bringing South Asian influences to the global soundscape in ways never heard before. His Canadian upbringing and Indian heritage have led him to create genre-defying and energetic music that resonates with audiences beyond his dual identity. Following in the footsteps of K-Pop and Latin acts before him, Tesher authentically bridges the gap between the cultures – owning the narrative and his South Asian identity through his innovative music. After years of independently uploading his music to YouTube and Soundcloud, Tesher earned widespread recognition for his remix of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” ft. Billy Ray Cyrus. The remix, which sampled music and lyrics from AR Rahman’s Bollywood hit “Ramta Jogi,” became a hit on social media and grew Tesher’s online profile. Tesher’s “Young Shahrukh,” an original hip-hop song inspired by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, continued Tesher’s string of viral hits and was his first to reach #1 on the BBC Asian Music Chart following its release in 2020. Standing at the forefront of the globalization of music, Tesher equally belongs to both the East and the West. His career skyrocketed in 2020 when he added his own vocals to his remix of Justin Bieber’s “Yummy.” After his vocals blew up on TikTok and Instagram, Tesher found fans begging him to create an independent solo record. With that vote of confidence, he was inspired to create the viral hit “Jalebi Baby,” which he later reimagined with Jason Derulo.

About Jason Derulo

Forward-thinking, genre-defying, and massively creative, Jason Derulo has staked his claim as one of the most dynamic forces on the global pop landscape. Since breaking through with his five-times-platinum single “Whatcha Say,” the award-winning singer/songwriter has sold more than 200 million records worldwide. His latest triumphs include emerging as one of TikTok’s most influential users, boasting the 11th overall biggest account on the video-sharing platform, prevailing as the fourth-most-followed male, and regularly amassing over five million views per TikTok post. Now at work on his highly anticipated fifth album and full-length debut for Atlantic Records, Derulo recently delivered a series of smash singles while operating as an independent artist. Those tracks include the wildly catchy “Lifestyle” feat. Adam Levine, “Take You Dancing” (a pandemic-era love song that’s inspired over a half-million videos on TikTok), and the double-platinum “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat),” a collaboration with New Zealand-based producer Jawsh 685 that hit No. 1 on Top 40 radio, with its official BTS remix reaching the top slot on Billboard’s Hot 100. A truly multidimensional creator, Derulo has also established himself as an actor and businessman, investing in enterprises like Catch L.A. and Rumble Boxing and becoming part-owner of Bedlam Vodka. With his most recent ventures including launching an innovation-minded podcast and developing a line of supplements and fitness products with the Najafi Group and BodyBuilding.com, he’s also partnered with Z2 Comics to create a graphic novel, a project based on a superhero called Uzo, the crime-fighting character he first introduced on TikTok.

Naliya Releases Official Music Video – Handshakes

By: Ally Brewster

Earlier this year, Naliya, singer, songwriter and producer, released her dreamy debut single “Handshakes.” The debut song about heartbreak and moving on was an introduction to the artist’s personal, unfiltered songs.

On July 7th Naliya is set to premiere the music video for her debut single “Handshakes.” Being her first music video, it will establish the artist’s visual identity as she works on her first album.

As the video begins, Naliya emerges from a body of water, glitter surrounding her acting as sun-reflections, creating an ethereal feel. The scene then cuts to Naliya in a setting with tile walls and plants all around, these scenes visually showing the lyric “’Til you left me with the wave, I just made it back to shore” from the song.

The video continues to be filled with effects, such as glitter and lens flares, continuing the dream-like quality, matching the smooth vocals of the song. It draws clear inspiration from Euphoria’s aesthetic with its makeup, wardrobe, glitter and colors. It’s filled with bright pops of colors, with a pink, yellow, and brown color scheme, creating a soft and sultry palette for the breakup song.

The song and music video are written and produced like a letter to the boy that left her as she tries to move on from him and rebuild herself. Throughout the music video, Naliya looks into the camera, as if talking to the boy as she sings lines like “I can’t forget your face,” and asks, ““Tell me, do you really think you’re better off without me, on your team?”

Though the song is about a break-up, the video pairs that theme with Naliya vibing to the catchy beat of the song, dancing and feeling herself; a reference to part of the hook “Now I’m fucked up at this party,” as she tries to move on from the boy, but isn’t able to.

The music video is beautiful and dreamy with its glitter, coloring and lights, pairing well the ethereal and angelic hook and melody of the song. The video sets a the tone for what her style and intentions are as an artist: to be raw and honest, and still showing the beauty in it.

The music video for “Handshakes” can be viewed here.

Her single “Handshakes” was just a taste of what the multi-talented artist has to offer as she continues to work on her debut album throughout the year.

ABOUT NALIYA

Naliya personally touches every element of her music. Behind a desk running Ableton Live by herself, she’ll conjure up a beat before picking up a pen to write lyrics and finally grabbing a microphone to bring the production and words to life. The singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer architects an unfiltered and undeniable take on pop warmed by handcrafted beats and lyrics so intimate they could be a DM. She spent the first eight years of her life in Calgary before the family moved to Paris where she resided until 16. Returning to Vancouver Island Canada for high school, she admittedly didn’t have many friends and felt like an outcast. Staving off feelings of depression, she downloaded GarageBand one day and started making beats of her own. Fast-tracking her degree, she finished Berklee College of Music in just three years, got a Visa, and relocated to L.A. Releasing a series of early singles and collaborations, she repeatedly achieved six-figure streaming numbers. During a Shark Tank-style Instagram Live hosted by powerhouse songwriter J Kash [Maroon 5, Charlie Puth, Selena Gomez], she shared a composition and landed a deal. With Kash in her corner, she co-wrote Jason Derulo’s Lifestyle [feat. Adam Levine] and Tate McRae’s Rubberband. After amassing nearly 2 million streams independently, she formally introduces herself on a series of 2021 singles for Interscope Records led by “Handshakes.”

Tesher × Jason Derulo – Jalebi Baby

BOLLYWOOD HOLLYWOOD DUO TESHER X JASON DERULO RELEASE REIMAGINED JALEBI BABY, View Visualizer Video HERE, Combined Global Streams Of Jalebi Baby Surpass 100 Million, Tesher Signs Worldwide Deal With Capitol Records In Partnership With Universal Music India

Canadian-Indian rapper/producer Tesher and award-winning singer/songwriter Jason Derulo team up to reimagine Tesher’s global hit, Jalebi Baby. Listen here and view the accompanying visualizer video here.

My goal has always been to bring cultures together and create music that anyone can enjoy, regardless of language or background, said Tesher. Seeing ‘Jalebi Baby’ find listeners all over the world has been amazing, as has seeing big Billboard hits that donߣt neatly fit into one genre or aren’t completely in English. It just shows that people are not only open to hearing new and unique sounds, they crave them.

Jalebi Baby, which riffs on the classic South Asian dessert jalebi, was originally released in 2020. With its incredibly catchy chorus, effortless blend of English and Punjabi lyrics and Latin-flavored production, the song quickly became a viral sensation, topping the Shazam charts in 25+ countries and inspiring millions of videos across social media platforms. Jalebi Baby has amassed over 100 million combined global streams to date.

Tesher recently signed a new worldwide deal with Capitol Records in partnership with Universal Music India. This agreement will see Tesher’s music released through a unique partnership between Capitol Records in the U.S. and Universal Music India, who will focus on building his rapidly expanding popularity across India, South Asia and throughout its vast diaspora, whilst finding new fans around the world. In recent years, Universal Music India has led the Indian music market in the expansion of the non-film music, and hip-hop in India, challenging the dominance of Bollywood music on the charts and accelerating the growth of original artists and music within the domestic Indian music market and beyond.

MADAME TUSSAUDS HOLLYWOOD WAX MUSEUM

When you walk through Hollywood, you can find 2,690 stars along the sidewalk calling out famous and celebrated singers, songwriters, actors, directors, and anyone who has had a lasting impact on Hollywood. You can also escape the heat and bustle of the city by exploring Madame Tussauds where you are treated to life-size replicas of all your favorite Hollywood Superstars.

Madame Tussauds Hollywood features three floors filled with wax replicas of singers, late night hosts, actors and actresses, and even famous characters from movies like Boris Karloff as The Mummy. You are first greeted with a wax figure of Baywatch Zac Efron in front of the Santa Monica Skyline, a massive King Kong next to the Empire State building, and a game face ready Kobe Bryant. After you purchase your tickets, you are welcomed into the museum and given free rein to tour and visit all three floors. Following COVID-19 guidelines, guests are to start from the third floor and make our way down for one-way traffic to flow better. The first-floor features Hollywood’s newest members and current pop culture icons: Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Jenner, Morgan Freeman, Simon Cowell and more. And not forgetting to mention, the brand-new Ariana Grande wax figure dressed in her Rule The World music video outfit. The figurine is also posed in a pink-themed set from her famous 7 Rings video with a pyramid of champagne glasses behind her. This is a new piece for the museum and not yet updated in all of Madame Tussauds locations, so it is definitely not to be missed!

On the second floor, you pass Meryl Streep, Obama, and Jim Carrey; the second floor also features all of old Hollywood’s stars: Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, John Wayne, esteemed directors: Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino, and even actors portraying characters from popular films of that era: Hannibal Lector (Anthony Hopkins) locked in his cell, Danny (John Travolta) next to his red-hot rod, and Edward Scissorhands (Johnny Depp). After you tour through Old Hollywood, you arrive at the last floor featuring all your favorite stars from the 90’s: Britney Spears, Tupac, Snoop Dog, Michael Jackson, Shakira, Beyoncé, Madonna, and so on. This section features the ultimate 90’s bedroom and would transport you back in time.

After your trip down memory lane, you will arrive the last feature in the museum, a Marvel theme wax exhibition, where you can check out a few Marvel cast members figures in full costume: Spiderman, Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), etc. Though it is not compulsory, you can also purchase the 4D Marvel Movie screening for an additional $5 for an immersive experience. The glasses the museum provides will allow you to see the 3D aspect of the film, and be prepared for sound effects, water, bubbles and even ropes to hit your feet. All of these elements make for an out of this world experience, the movie is 10 minutes long. Make sure to put any items you don’t want getting wet away! If you are not a fan of getting wet, I recommend sitting father back. Stop by the gift shop on your way out and grab a cup, key chain, or shirt to remember your visit to Madame Tussauds Hollywood.

In addition to offering a fun and safe day out of the house, you are also able to learn about the process of making a wax figure, see examples of the process, and in pre-Covid times purchase your own wax mold of your hand. It takes about 800 hours to create a wax figure, beginning with the detailed measurement of the model from the circumference of your head to the width of your ankle. Every measurement is specific to ensure the wax figure looks as accurate as possible. After the measurements are taken, workers begin sculpting, painting, designing, making the costumes and finally dressing and staging the wax figures. This is no easy task and while some figures are more life-like and realistic than others, they are all impressive. It really makes you question who in the room was real and who was a wax figure! The detail in every figure is astonishing, from freckles, scars, tattoos, and hair. It feels as if you are really meeting and interacting with these stars rather than standing next to a wax figure.

KyleYouMadeThat New Single

KYLEYOUMADETHAT RELEASES NEW SINGLE AND VISUALIZER “ALL ABOUT CAKE” WITH COI LERAY & KAASH PAIGE

Increasing his momentum, rising Toronto artist and producer KyleYouMadeThat joins forces with Coi Leray and Kaash Paige on his high-energy new track “All About Cake” today.

Listen to “All About Cake:” HERE

The track is the soundtrack to one of this year’s biggest TikTok dance trends yet. With over one million TikTok dance videos created to the song by some of pop culture’s biggest talent including LizzoCharli D’amelio and more, KyleYouMadeThat added budding pop star Coi Leray and the buzzing R&B singer Kaash Paige to the track to trade bag chasing bars on the beat.

In the visualizer, a bikini-clad girl gang armed with super soakers wilds out by a pool, chowing down on cake and, inevitably, getting into a confectionary ingredient everywhere. You need to see it to believe it.

It arrives hot on the heels of HOOPLA—the collaboration between KyleYouMadeThat and NLE Choppa, It has already racked up over 1.3 million streams and earned critical acclaim. HotNewHipHop enthusiastically described it as “a bouncy banger.

“HOOPLA” initially exploded on Tik Tok when KyleYouMadeThat shared nothing more than the beat on his page. Dance influencer Karaleigh Cannella shared a viral dance soundtracked by the production, and Seventeen praised it among “The Hottest TikTok Dances You Can’t Stop Doing.

KyleYouMadeThat already moved the internet, and now he’s set to move the culture. Soundtracking 16 million-plus videos on Tik Tok and generating views in the billions by 2021, the Toronto-born artist, producer, and creative cooks up genre-defiant anthems and curates’ viral moods. After years producing for the likes of Trey SongzRyan Leslie, and Tinashe, he found himself stuck at home at the onset of the Global Pandemic. He leveled up all-around, becoming more proficient at graphic design, photo editing, and video editing. He also studied Tik Tok and pledged to “get a viral hit. He didn’t just go viral; he practically broke the platform. “Crystal Dolphin” incited videos by dozens of influencers such as Charli D’Amelio [102 million followers], Addison Rae [71 million followers], SpencerX [50 million followers], and Loren Gray [50 million followers] as well as superstar Jason Derulo. Not to mention, the success translated to other platforms with 56 million streams on Spotify. Meanwhile, “All About Cake” inspired videos by everyone Kimberlyloazia [31.8 million followers] and Tony Lopez [23 million] to three posts from Lizzo. It would be his off-kilter sonic sensibility that shined through the loudest though, defining a whole wave in the process under the radar. Now, he asserts himself as both a trend architect and precise hitmaker on a series of 2021 singles for The Heavy Group/Republic Records, tipped off by “HOOPLA” with NLE Choppa.

GIGI VEGA INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:

1. How has your family inspired you and your music?

GV: I would always do little shows and auditions. My father is a jazz musician. He would play the piano, so I was always surrounded by music, and theater as well.

2. What or who inspired your song “Watchu Tryna Do?”

GV: It just happened. Actually, had it for a while, but was finally able to come back to it. Originally, the lyrics were supposed to be “in the club”, instead of “in the crib”. But I had to make adjustments due to COVID 19

3. Talk about your producer on this song?

GV: Jack London. He has worked with the Chainsmokers.

4. Where do you get your ideas for songwriting?

GV: Melodies just come to me. Melodies come first for me. Lyrics come from everyday life experiences. I’ve always been into dancing and singing. It’s something that just clicked for me, but I got more into it once I started composing my own songs.

5. What charities are you aligned with and why?

GV: Anti-bullying programs.

6. What acting projects will you be involved with in the future?

GV: I will be in The Drone That Saved Christmas. Production begins in March. After that, I hope the COVID situation improves, so I can be touring.

7. Who are your biggest influences?

GV: Janet Jackson. Definitely into anyone who is super full out, and she is one of them.

8. What advice would you give to a singer starting out?

GV: Don’t let anyone steer you in the direction of what they want you to be – it is not worth it, ever.

9. Talk about your training as a triple threat, what do you do to stay on top?

GV: Just take a look at my Music video, it is all there. Acting, dancing, singing. I have trained in all three disciplines since I was very young. My dance training was focused on modern dance, but I am schooled in all disciplines. I have always been on stage or behind the camera, so it is second nature.

10. How do you take care of your voice?

GV: Regular training, like an athlete. Lots of lemon and pineapple juice, as well.

11. If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?

GV: Chris Brown or Jason Derulo. Dancer/singer like I am. Janet – anyone who is full out, as mentioned before.

12. What is on your playlist right now?

GV: Omarion, Michael Jackson, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Pop Smoke, Jason Derulo.

13. Who are you currently watching on TikTok?

GV: Everything that comes across my feed.:)

14. When did you know you wanted to be an entertainer?

GV: Never thought about anything else. I was on stage from an early age. I made the move from stage to commercial work in my teens. Once I learned how to write solid music, I knew I wanted to record music. It was a process. I spent hundreds of hours in the studio as a kid.

15. What artist did you admire as a child?

GV: I loved watching Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson is my absolute favorite.

16. Do you play any instruments?

GV: I pluck out notes on the piano and guitar to help my melodies. Had many lessons and music theory, but I won’t be accompanying myself just yet.

17. What’s your fashion style?

GV: I like more tropical vibes, or casual, put-together vibes, but I always like to switch it up. I can be glam or a Tomboy. Get a girl who can do both.

18. What do you do to relax?

GV: I love fashion, always putting fashion pieces together. I learned to sew as a child, went to classes and camps for years. I was one of those kids who got a new shirt, and then I would go to my room and change the shape and design. I love listening to music and writing. Honestly, writing is my happy space.

19. What other businesses do you plan on starting to promote your brand?

GV: I am very into sneakers and shoes. I have so many different designs in my head that need to come out.

20. What’s the one thing you think everyone could do to make the world a more positive place?

GV: Less judgment of others, especially strangers.
