North Ave Jax – Play Dumb

Buzzing out of Burlington, VT, rapper, singer, and artist North Ave Jax releases his new single entitled “Play Dumb.”

“Play Dumb” catapults North Ave Jax‘s flagrant style of unapologetic and catchy lyricism as the Burlington rapper laments on the hook “Smartest thing I ever did, was play dumb.” Atop of the single’s resonant production, “Play Dumb” connects both the thrilling and hypnotic flare of North Ave Jax as he reunites with director and friend Kelly Butts-Spirito to represent the rapper’s home state of Vermont in single’s music video. “Play Dumb” presents an alternative flow to current trends and resounds a powerful message of relating to one another’s significant struggles and rigid paths in life.

Be on the lookout for more music to release later this year. He’s about to put Burlington on the map like never before.

About North Ave Jax

When you think of Vermont, you think of maple syrup, mountains, and massive amounts of snow. Moreover, its quietude typically inspires quaint lives. North Ave Jax chose a much louder path. The Burlington native took the unexpected route personally and creatively, threading deft verbal dexterity through unpredictable soundscapes punctuated by punk rock spirit, pop ambition, and even a twist of R&B. At two years old, he picked up drums and continued to play through grade school—even joining a rock band in first grade. Mom introduced him to the likes of Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, while a trip to the local library actually unlocked hip-hop for him. After hearing Flo Rida‘s “Low” on library headphones, he embraced rap, listening to JAY-Z, Drake, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Brent Faiyaz, and more. Throughout high school, basketball occupied the bulk of his time, yet he still managed to ignite a handful of viral freestyle videos from the lunchroom. Kicked off the basketball team in senior year, he dropped out of school. One night in 2021, he wound up recording in a friend’s makeshift closet studio. Hunger to succeed drove his delivery from the jump. Serendipitously, an acquaintance FaceTimed LVRN Co-Founder and President Tunde Balogun and played him Jax’s music. A day later, the label flew him to Atlanta in order to ink a deal. Now, North Ave Jax introduces a scorching signature style on a series of 2021 singles and more to come.

NoonieVsEverybody – HOOD CHRONICLES

Cleveland-based rapper NoonieVsEverybody follows up his debut single with a new track entitled “HOOD CHRONICLES”. It marks the 18-year-old’s second released single of his forthcoming mixtape ‘STRICTLY 4 THE VOICELESS’ coming later this year. “HOOD CHRONICLES” dropped exclusively on YouTube on 2/16 which is a nod to his hometown area code in 216 in Cleveland.

“I come from the hood where u gotta strive for yo self and the ones you love. Everything happens in the hood. You get into the most shit there but you gotta love yo roots and the HOOD CHRONICLES,” said NoonieVsEverybody. Click HERE to listen and HERE to watch.

The story of “HOOD CHRONICLES” carries on the visceral themes of loyalty and exertion in urban Cleveland, Ohio. “Hood baby, I came out from poverty,” the 18-year-old rapper says. The city of Cleveland recapitulates the focal point of NoonieVsEverybody’s nobility and desire to get his family and friends out and away from the grittiness of urban city living. This is the same resoundful energy that will drive a series of forthcoming singles set to release on his 2022 debut mixtape. “HOOD CHRONICLES” is more than rap, it’s a story.

As a point of convergence, NoonieVsEverybody extends beyond his pen and paper in order to divulge into the hardships of everything he goes through while growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. Sticking to the tantamount style of ardent and emotional lyrics, “Hood Chronicles” sets the stage in conscientious detail in order to ally fans and listeners who go through similar situations. This second iteration from the upcoming Cleveland rapper provides harmonizing refuge straight from the heart in hopes to spread a strong and honest message to the hip-hop community.

NoonieVsEverybody will be prepping more music for release later this year along with a documentary series that gives fans an in-depth look at his life.

About NoonieVsEverybody

The toughest cities mold the toughest champions. NoonieVsEverybody, based in Cleveland, OH, had to learn to grow up fast in a city historically known to be a rough place to be a kid. The hardships throughout NoonieVsEverybody’s younger years activated an intense will inside the 17-year-old rapper to not let anything stop him from achieving his dreams or taking care of his family. His mom worked hard as a home health aid to take care of him, acting as his “mother and father.” She also introduced him to classic hip-hop, and he developed a passion for everyone from Tupac and Jadakiss to Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane. Between regular suspensions from elementary school, he channeled his troubles into raps, filling up small notebooks with songs and ideas as a kid during class, detention, and lunchtime. That same indomitable spirit drives a series of 2021 singles and his forthcoming debut mixtape. A freestyle on Instagram caught the attention of LVRN. He made his official introduction with an appearance on the “LVRN Cypher” Spotify single alongside big-name heavyweights such as 6LACK, Westside Boogie, BRS Kash, and OMB Bloodbath. In the end, NoonieVsEverybody’s words will resound in his hometown and far beyond.

Naliya Releases Official Music Video – Handshakes

By: Ally Brewster

Earlier this year, Naliya, singer, songwriter and producer, released her dreamy debut single “Handshakes.” The debut song about heartbreak and moving on was an introduction to the artist’s personal, unfiltered songs.

On July 7th Naliya is set to premiere the music video for her debut single “Handshakes.” Being her first music video, it will establish the artist’s visual identity as she works on her first album.

As the video begins, Naliya emerges from a body of water, glitter surrounding her acting as sun-reflections, creating an ethereal feel. The scene then cuts to Naliya in a setting with tile walls and plants all around, these scenes visually showing the lyric “’Til you left me with the wave, I just made it back to shore” from the song.

The video continues to be filled with effects, such as glitter and lens flares, continuing the dream-like quality, matching the smooth vocals of the song. It draws clear inspiration from Euphoria’s aesthetic with its makeup, wardrobe, glitter and colors. It’s filled with bright pops of colors, with a pink, yellow, and brown color scheme, creating a soft and sultry palette for the breakup song.

The song and music video are written and produced like a letter to the boy that left her as she tries to move on from him and rebuild herself. Throughout the music video, Naliya looks into the camera, as if talking to the boy as she sings lines like “I can’t forget your face,” and asks, ““Tell me, do you really think you’re better off without me, on your team?”

Though the song is about a break-up, the video pairs that theme with Naliya vibing to the catchy beat of the song, dancing and feeling herself; a reference to part of the hook “Now I’m fucked up at this party,” as she tries to move on from the boy, but isn’t able to.

The music video is beautiful and dreamy with its glitter, coloring and lights, pairing well the ethereal and angelic hook and melody of the song. The video sets a the tone for what her style and intentions are as an artist: to be raw and honest, and still showing the beauty in it.

The music video for “Handshakes” can be viewed here.

Her single “Handshakes” was just a taste of what the multi-talented artist has to offer as she continues to work on her debut album throughout the year.

ABOUT NALIYA

Naliya personally touches every element of her music. Behind a desk running Ableton Live by herself, she’ll conjure up a beat before picking up a pen to write lyrics and finally grabbing a microphone to bring the production and words to life. The singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer architects an unfiltered and undeniable take on pop warmed by handcrafted beats and lyrics so intimate they could be a DM. She spent the first eight years of her life in Calgary before the family moved to Paris where she resided until 16. Returning to Vancouver Island Canada for high school, she admittedly didn’t have many friends and felt like an outcast. Staving off feelings of depression, she downloaded GarageBand one day and started making beats of her own. Fast-tracking her degree, she finished Berklee College of Music in just three years, got a Visa, and relocated to L.A. Releasing a series of early singles and collaborations, she repeatedly achieved six-figure streaming numbers. During a Shark Tank-style Instagram Live hosted by powerhouse songwriter J Kash [Maroon 5, Charlie Puth, Selena Gomez], she shared a composition and landed a deal. With Kash in her corner, she co-wrote Jason Derulo’s Lifestyle [feat. Adam Levine] and Tate McRae’s Rubberband. After amassing nearly 2 million streams independently, she formally introduces herself on a series of 2021 singles for Interscope Records led by “Handshakes.”

Becky Hill x David Guetta New Single Remember

Becky Hill released her new single Remember in partnership with David Guetta.

Today, show-stopping UK vocalist and songwriter Becky Hill released her brand new single Remember, a collaboration with the legendary David Guetta. Remember, which is co-written by Becky Hill and co-produced by David Guetta, is the most recent single to be lifted from Becky’s upcoming debut studio album out this summer.

“My whole career has built up to this moment!” says Becky. “I have a sure-fire single with David Guetta, and an album I’ve spent my whole adult life making is finally coming out. I’ve grafted and strived to reach this milestone for a few years now, and my patience has definitely been tested! But it’s definitely been worth the wait, as my creativity and vision for the album has now come to full fruition. It’s been an honour to collaborate with David Guetta on this release too. I feel so proud of the work I’ve created, and so thankful for the team around me who’ve stuck by me throughout this process. To the first of many, and to a very bright future ahead!”

David Guetta says, “Becky is becoming one of the very rare queens of dance music. She has an incredible voice and it felt so good to go back to house music for this record.”

Remember follows the release of Becky’s Better Off Without You ft Shift K3Y, (which is certified Platinum in the UK after accumulating over 600,000 sales), Heaven On My Mind, (which has accumulated over 65 million streams and is now certified Gold in the UK), and the recently released UK Top 40 hit, Last Time.

Becky Hill’s debut studio album will follow Get To Know, a collection of 13 singles Becky either released herself or wrote and guest performed on. Get To Know is now certified Gold in the UK after being confirmed by Official Charts as one of 2020’s top 5 most streamed albums by a female artist in the UK and peaking at No.16 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums Chart in the US.

With an irrefutable aptitude for writing chart-smashing pop songs and a reputation as a pioneer in the electronic music scene, Becky Hill is one of Britain’s most in-demand musical exports of the moment. She has over 180 songs registered with ASCAP – no mean feat considering only 17% of PRS for Music’s registered songwriters are female – and an impressive string of hits to her name.  Having written and performed on twelve singles which charted in the top 40 of the UK Official Singles Chart, (including two top 10 singles, one number 1, and nine platinum records), Becky has now amassed over 2 billion streams on Spotify alone, and 1 billion streams in the UK. She has over 14 million monthly listeners on Spotify after being crowned the 2nd most-streamed British Female Solo Artist on Spotify UK in both 2019 and 2020.
