Monterey Car Week

As luxury car aficionados convene on California’s Monterey Peninsula for the 70 gathering of Monterey Car Week, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars showcases two unique Bespoke commissions to celebrate the occasion. With a stunning display at ‘The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering,’ the world’s leading luxury brand highlights the latest member of the Rolls-Royce family, Ghost, alongside the sought-after Cullinan Black Badge.

Ghost, the latest iteration of the most successful product in the marque’s 117-year history, is shown this year in Monterey with a bold, colorful finish of Bespoke Friskee Pink. For the first time, this unique color adorns the pure and minimalist form provided by the ‘Post Opulent’ design of Ghost.

Complementing this lively color choice is a soothing Navy Blue and Arctic White leather interior that features highlights of a new Rolls-Royce leather hue, Shieda. This bright and bold magenta pink accentuates the long unbroken lines throughout the cabin, for which Ghost is known. Stitching details in Shieda are found on Ghost’s seats, headrests, and leather encased indicator stalks. Each elegant detail has been considered and thoughtfully placed.

Engineered around the dedicated Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Architecture of Luxury, Ghost features a combination of reductionist design and state of the art technology. Underneath the refined exterior, Ghost is the most technologically advanced Rolls-Royce yet. The new Planar software integrates a unique front upper wishbone damper, the Flagbearer suspension management system and the world’s most advanced Satellite Aided Transmission to deliver the most refined driving experience ever.

Ringling College of Art and Design × Smithsonian

Ten Ringling College of Art and Design Illustration students created a series of biographical sketches for the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM) based upon the lives of ten women artists whose work is featured in the Museum’s collection. With aligned missions to inspire creativity and provide platforms for professional experience, the project was a collaboration between SAAM and Ringling College’s INDEX program.  As winners of the INDEX competition, the ten students created short comics comprised of 12 to 16 frames apiece to convey the story of each of the ten women artists, some of whom may not have received the attention they deserved in their lifetimes.

The ten winning students were chosen from the 29 Illustration students that entered the Ringling College INDEX competition. Each winning student received a $1,000 award and the opportunity to gain professional experience by working on Drawn to Art: Ten Tales of Inspiring Women Artists. All ten comics are viewable HERE.

“This INDEX project with the Smithsonian American Art Museum has been a phenomenal career-advancing opportunity for our students,” said Ringling College of Art and Design President Dr. Larry R. Thompson. “Working to tell the stories of these important women artists has drawn upon our students’ talent, creativity and ability to work collaboratively with faculty advisors and Smithsonian American Art Museum staff, providing valuable professional experience prior to graduation. We are very impressed with, and proud of, their work.”

In creating this project, the Smithsonian American Art Museum wanted to give young people the opportunity to identify with the struggles and triumphs of ten visionaries and rule breakers, to see themselves reflected, and to draw strength from that visibility.

Dempsey says, “this record overall is a fun summer love song but “strawberry cheesecake” in this is a symbol for that special thing you can do for your significant other, maybe they’re in a bad mood or you messed up some plans you guys had and you need to make up for it so you stop and get their favorite treat. kinda like “brownie points” if you know what that means? my girlfriend doesn’t actually love strawberry cheesecake it was more of a metaphor, my girls equivalent to strawberry cheesecake is probably coffee or just my love and affection.”

Last fall, Dempsey released the dempsey hope project. The project was a collection of 10 songs that Dempsey had spent months working on and featured “baby blue” ft. Olivia O’Brien (watch the lyric video HERE) as well as fan favorites such as “roller rink” which was featured in Billboard’s “10 Cool New Pop Songs To Get You Through The Week,” “time flies” and “elephant in the room” feat. gnash.

How to Stay Safe Gaming Online

Online gaming should be a fun and rewarding experience that, critically, does not have any lasting impact. Staying safe online is vital, especially when gaming, as it is all too easy for a fun and innocent activity to become malicious when the right steps have not been taken. That does not mean to say that gaming online is a dangerous activity. In fact, when you take the right steps, online gaming can be just as safe as playing in person with friends.

Use a VPN

A Virtual Private Network, otherwise known simply as a VPN, is a great measure that everyone should use while gaming online. When you connect to a VPN, you connect to an encrypted server, which means that it becomes a lot more difficult for cybercriminals to track your movements. Not only does a VPN allow you to play anonymously, but it also hides your IP address, which makes you even more difficult to track.

Only Play on Trusted Sites

Before you begin playing online, it is important that you check to see that a site is trustworthy. There are many ways that you can check to see how trustworthy an online gaming site is; you could:

  • Check player reviews – looking at reviews of a gaming site, particularly the negative reviews, should help you learn if the site is unsafe. Make sure to check reviews at a respectable website.
  • Check for the right icons; some sites, like gambling sites, should be regulated by a range of international organizations. You should check to see if the site features the icons of the gaming authorities before playing.
  • Do your research; simply just reading up on the best gaming sites to use can help you to find the best, safe sites. Rather than doing the research yourself, you can easily compare the sites in one place and get playing a lot faster, safe in the knowledge that you are using a trusted site. Click here to compare.

Keep Your Personal Information Private

Of course, sometimes, when you are buying an online game or signing up, you will have to input your personal details (only after checking the site is safe), but in other situations, you should keep your information private. For example, if you are playing an online multiplayer game, you should avoid using or giving out any personal information, including your name or location. Even if a player seems to be a friend of yours, you should never exchange personal information.

It is also vital that you use an appropriate username that does not give too much of your personal information out. You should also make sure to have a different password for every online gaming site that you use.

Install Anti-Virus Software

If you have taken the previous steps, then you can be pretty confident that you will be safe while playing online, but it is always better to be safe and sorry. You should install anti-virus software on your device to give you that extra layer of added security.

If you are playing games on a free site, it is common for these sites to use adverts, some of which might host more harmful, malicious software. You should be using a VPN and anti-virus software at all times to make sure you are staying safe online, whether you are playing a game or reading Wikipedia.

6 Ways to Make Your Kitchen More Sustainable

We hear a lot about sustainability and we know that it’s something that is supposed to be good for us. Yet most of us are not quite sure what it means to be sustainable, or how we can incorporate sustainability into our everyday lives. The good news is that understanding sustainability and making it a priority is not only easy, it is something that everyone can do and feel good about. The kitchen is a great place to start for those who want to make some healthy green changes in their lives.

“It’s not difficult for people to become more sustainable, especially if they start in the kitchen,” explains Sarah Scott Mitchell, co-owner of Neutrall, a company specializing in sustainable glassware. “It’s really just a matter of knowing some of the different things you can do to live a life that is considered to be more sustainable. The more people know, the easier it becomes.”

Sustainability, according to the United Nations, is defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising our future generations to meet their own needs. Essentially, when you opt for sustainability, you will be making choices that won’t harm the planet in the future. While you want to be able to use the products that you need today, you don’t want to do so at the expense of tomorrow.

The kitchen is a great place to start, because the choices we make that are related to this room in the home is linked to sustainability in a big way. From buying more organic products to creating a compost bin for scraps, there is a lot people can do to help create a greener and more eco-friendly kitchen. Here are 6 ways to make your kitchen more sustainable:

  1. Recycle. Keep a little basket on the counter, or bin in the cupboard, where you can toss items that need to recycled. There are many foods that have packaging that can be recycled. Put it in the bin for convenience, and once that bin is full take it to the garage to dump into the main recycling bin.
  2. Reduce waste. The United State Department of Agriculture reports that food waste is estimated to be 30-40% of the food supply. Think about how often you toss leftovers or find things that have gone bad in the crisper. Reduce the amount of food waste you are creating by only buying what you need, freezing what you can’t use right away, not making more than you need, and giving away leftovers that you otherwise won’t eat.
  3. Buy organic and local. Make an effort to purchase more foods that are organic and made locally as well as use eco friendly catering supplies, to reduce pollution and the carbon footprint.
  4. Check your dishes. Not all dishes and cookware are made sustainably. Some have traveled thousands of miles to reach America, and are made through means that were not environmentally friendly. Opt for items that are more eco friendly, such as the sustainable glasses by Neutrall, which are carbon neutral and made in the USA.
  5. Opt for natural cleaning. Cleaners with harsh ingredients are not only bad for the environment, but they are bad for human health as well. Opt for non-toxic cleaners that are all plant based such as Therapy Clean.
  6. Commit to green choices. The first step to creating a greener and more sustainable kitchen is to make the commitment to do so. It’s easy for people to continue with what they have been doing, but when you rise to the challenge and make some changes you will feel great knowing you are helping the planet be healthier for generations to come.

“Once people make the choices to make life in the kitchen more sustainable it becomes easy,” added co-founder Ernesto Humpierres. “By providing people with a way to have sustainable glassware we are part of the solution, and we are really happy about that.”

All Neutrall glassware is made in the USA, upcycled, sustainable, and is shipped in eco-friendly packaging. The company was created by Mitchell and Humpierres, who live in Austin, Texas, with their young twins. The first product launched by Neutrall is a set of two upcycled 8-ounce glass cups that are shipped in sustainable packaging. The sturdy and compact glasses are great for morning juices and drinks, and great for small hands. They are great for families, and to give as gifts for weddings and house warmings. To get more information about Neutrall or place an order, visit the site HERE.

What Is A Football Prop Bet? Here’s What To Know Before Making One

Betting on sports can be a lot of fun and even be lucrative when you have luck on your side and know what you’re doing. But, there is an aspect that makes athletic wagers even more exciting. There is another type of sports bet called a prop. A “prop” is short for propositional bet. It is often a side bet that involves something very specific during game time.

What makes it exciting is how random these bets can be, so winning gives you an extra jolt. Props take a lot more luck than just betting on the win or loss of a particular team or game, but there are ways that can help you improve your odds.

In this article, we will go over exactly what a prop bet is and how you can make one yourself.

Prop bet examples

The idea of a prop bet is to find something interesting about a player or team to bet on. An example would betting that the New England Patriots’ defense will score a touchdown in this week’s game. Or, you could bet on how many touchdowns Tom Brady will make for Tampa Bay against his old team, the Patriots.

The possibilities are endless, which is what makes these types of bets so fun. You can see a good return if you actually win, since the odds are really stacked against you. Most of the time prop bets are pretty small, so you can keep it economical and hopefully make something in return.

There Is A Little Bit Of Skill Involved

One of the reasons that these bets are played is because there has been some research conducted. For example, you can find out how many touchdowns a certain quarterback has made during the third quarter in his career. With this kind of information, you can make an informed bet.

There are lots of sites in which inform readers on these kinds of stats. That way, you can make a prop bet according to the information you feel comfortable with. Check the Awesemo NFL player props to get an idea of the stats that might be able to help you.

If you are a new gambler, these bets may not be good if you have the intention of actually winning. They can be fun for the beginner when you do make a good bet that comes through. But, there is a lot of luck involved for that to happen. An experienced bet-maker will have better odds, though they are still not in your favor.

Because of the nature of these bets and the high payouts, they are usually capped by most sports books at a couple of hundred dollars, or at most $500. One other thing to consider is that these prop bets don’t move in unison with the line. As the line changes, the odds likely stay the same for the prop bet.
