Neecole Cockerham

Neecole Cockerham is a Berkeley-born actress who entered the business as the first African American woman to grace the television ad campaigns of fashion stalwart’s Banana Republic. She continued on and garnered an overwhelming number of commercials for industry giants like Sears and IBM. Ad agencies cast her in more than 120 national commercials to date. She maintains the same humility she had before appearing in Vogue, O Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, and Martha Stewart. Neecole has also appeared on Billboards for Dockers, Kraft & other major print campaigns.

Her theatrical career began early in life as she gathered family and neighborhood children in the downstairs den of her family home and did different characters of sketch comedy skits, complete with wardrobe changes. Shaped as a promising creative being at the Bay Area-based Berkeley Arts Magnet, Neecole furthered her fervor for the theatrical arts at Cal State Northridge where she studied Acting for Television under the consummate professional, Lillian Lehman. She, additionally, studied with Eden Harmon at Estelle Harmon’s acting school in Los Angeles.

She has performed in such shows and films as: for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf, Heroine Helen, Love Thy Neighbor, Significant Others, Do Over, The Life, Jesus’ secretary. However, her decade-long truth, passion project, and stand out performance was her dramatic one-woman show entitled I Am Not My Mother. She actually sold this show, which transcended race and economic status, as well as created a theater experience that was relatable, brought people together and told the story of an unexpected All-American girl.

After the show sold, her father, who she was extremely close to, unexpectedly passed. Tragedy ensued as she was in a near fatal car accident, where she broke her neck but survived. In her words, she was given new life…life with a purpose.
While still recovering from her horrific car accident, Neecole continues to push her limits as an artist, producer, and businesswoman with purpose. Due to her savvy business acumen and keen production skills after her accident in February 2017 she decided to devote her skills to being in service of others as a humble humanitarian for causes such as feeding several hundred women on Skid Row at The Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles at Christmas.

As of late, Neecole produces the annual West Adams Block Party. Her responsibilities include seeking and procuring strategic partners, aligning with the west adams citizens, partners and policymakers, and birthing a music stage with innovative talent and compelling storytellers. The Block party is a new business model that partners Non Profit organizations with the event for direct impact on urban areas.

When she’s not producing mega events or influencing the culture, she is back to her grind acting and has recently signed with Media Artist Group Agency. In 2016 she was in the running for a Pulitzer Prize as an American author for her One Woman Show “I am not my mother.” Additionally, she continues her quest as an artist by writing and producing multiple projects.

(COLUMBUS, OHIO) — Today, Prime Social Group announces the complete 2018 calendar for its signature Breakaway Music Festival in Dallas, TX; Columbus, OH; Grand Rapids, MI; Charlotte, NC; and, for the first time, Nashville, TN. Also for the first time, PSG has added another day to both the Columbus and Charlotte events, expanding Breakaway Columbus to a 3-day festival and Charlotte to a 2-day festival.

Prime Social Group is one of the fastest growing festival promoters in North America, bringing the biggest hip-hop and EDM talent to fill venues of tens of thousands in America’s heartland markets. In 2018, PSG will produce ten festivals under the Breakaway, Prime, Haunted Fest, and #FEST brands.

“We started this festival by combining urban living with a carefully curated, multi-genre lineup that festival goers of all ages and music preferences could enjoy. After just four years, Breakaway Columbus has grown into a large-scale festival home to over 25,000 attendees, which has inspired us to spread the festival brand to other markets. Every city could use their own festival to call home— we’re really excited for what the future looks like,” Managing Partner Adam Lynn explained.

Breakaway festivals have played host to hip-hop heavyweights like Chance the Rapper, visionary and Grammy-winner Kendrick Lamar, Billboard chart-topping Rae Sremmurd, Grammy Nominated Lil Uzi Vert and Travis Scott, and Atlanta-Trap star Playboi Carti. PSG has also hosted explosive hip-hop stars like Blackbear, Lil Yachty, Young Thug, Desiigner, and D.R.A.M. among many others.

EDM bookings at Breakaway have included Grammy-winner Zedd, international superstars Galantis and Diplo, traplord RL Grime, Australia’s Empire of the Sun, bass-god Bassnectar, Dillon Francis, the Electronic Music Awards’ ‘Artist of the Year’ Alison Wonderland, “Worlds” mastermind Porter Robinson, OWSLA queen Mija, and masked house aficionado Malaa as well as Oliver Heldens, Gryffin and many more. The 2018 festival lineups will be announced in the coming weeks.

Locations for Breakaway festivals are always carefully chosen. Breakaway Music Festival will return to Dallas at the Toyota Music Factory (4/7), Grand Rapid’s Belknap Park (8/24 – 8/25), Columbus’ MAPFRE Stadium (8/24 – 8/26) Charlotte’s AvidXchange Music Factory (10/12 – 10/13) and will debut in-front of the State Capitol in Nashville’s’ Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park (10/5 – 10/6).

Modern Lumberjack Experience

360 Magazine was recently given the exciting opportunity to test drive the brand new 2018 Chevrolet Colorado 4WD ZR2 Crew Short Box. In our opinion, the vehicle, which is priced around $45,000, is worth every penny. The car is well-equipped with an 8-inch, state-of-the-art infotainment system (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, back-up camera, Bose stereo and Wi-Fi hotspot). This ergonomical four-seater weighs in at 4,758lbs and is stocked with 17″ wheels alongside of a fob with auto start option.
At 360, we don’t have anyone on our team that fits the description of ‘lumberjack’ but we decided to give it a go so we could see for ourselves if the vehicle was suited for the lifestyle of the market consumer. In order to act the part, we had to look the part, of course. We channeled our inner lumberjacks and adorned ourselves in overalls and flannels before making the drive down to a small town called San Marcos that is located near the border of Mexico and the United States. San Marcos is home to So Cal Axe, one of the only axe throwing cages on the West Coast. While there, we learned the proper technique required to successfully propel an axe onto a bullseye. After a few hours of chucking axes at targets, we retreated to Hotel Z (http://www.instagram.com/staypineapple/) located in San Diego’s Gas Lamp district. We changed out of our sweaty flannels and into some navy blue apparel and made our way to Petco Park for the opening game of the San Diego Padres. We rolled up to the game in style. Heads turned as we pulled up in the Chevrolet Colorado which is coated in Kinetic Blue with a flashy yet functional spare tired propped up on the back of the truck. The Padres may have lost the game but the 360 team sure felt like winners riding around in that beautiful truck.
The next morning, we decided to continue our lumberjack adventures by heading north to San Luis Obispo [SLO] and we put the vehicle’s gas mileage, which boasts 19mpg city/25mpg hwy., to the test. With a capable 3.6 liter V6 engine (308hp and 270lbft of torque), we maneuvered our way up to Cal Poly (http://www.facebook.com/Cal-Poly-Loggers-190833514320167/) to witness the student logging and axe competition. Cal Poly, an agriculture school founded in 1901 with over 20,000 undergraduates, recently hosted and competed in AWFC (Association of Western Forestry Clubs). They prepared an entire complex to be utilized for all of the traditional lumberjack sports. The expo included everything from sawing, chopping, axe-throwing, birling, pole climbing, technical events such as wood identification, and much more! Each competitor has the opportunity to earn points for the overall team. Cal Poly did exceptionally well this year, as we took second place overall. Keep in mind, there were teams from all over the western region competing; some came all the way from Montana and British Columbia to compete. Overall, the week was filled with focused and fun-loving loggers. We had a blast watching the events and even getting involved in a few ourselves. We wouldn’t have wanted to spend our Spring Break anywhere else! However, our limited lumberjack experience made us feel like mere city slickers compared to the advanced skills of the other participants.
Shortly after, we bolted over to the neighboring town of Morro Bay to check out the Morro Rock. We were greeted by cheers and screams of “go mud bogging!” while cruising down the embarcadero. Upon arrival at the La Cuesta Inn (http://www.lacuestainn.com/) in SLO, we learned about Pismo Beach (one of the only beaches in Northern America which allows for off-roading vehicles on the beach). Subsequently, we arrived at the State Park and paid $5 for an all day pass and plopped off the pavement onto the sand. On the road, it feels like a sedan (but with a flatbed). Off the road, the Multimatic DSSV suspension (same
dampers used on the 2014 Camaro Z/28 and some of the Formula One vehicles) was able to easily adapt to knee-deep sand and dove head first into 3-feet of the Pacific. Clearly, the suspension is infinitely tunable to the demands of the driver while some monster trucks and cars got stuck while overheating. Our ZR2 seemed to rival all of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicons which were staggered throughout the coastline. We became an instant showstopper. Once the adrenaline faded, we headed to our hotel room at The Lofts (http://www.slobrew.com) which is situated right above the Slo Brew tasting and live performance venue.
To sum up our experiences with the 2018 Chevy Colorado ZR2 not only can adapt to most terrains but to most lifestyles: from a concrete safari to an off-road excursion. Finally, General Motors has a crafted a crawling and trail running beast which can dress itself up for a night on the town. This is a phenomenal factory truck which needs no modifications and can take loads of abuse. With precise steering, good cornering, strong braking system and excellent off-road capabilities, this is our preferred midsize truck for anyone in the market to floss and look like a boss on tough trails. This vehicle not only brought out our inner lumberjack but also proved to be a great car for all sorts of uses.

“About You”

Asralwerks will release About You, the debut album by Albin Lee Meldau. The album which is available for pre-order today along with the release of the starkly powerful opening track Before & After marks the arrival of a remarkable new voice and an emerging artist to watch in 2018. About You will also include the standout songs The Weight Is Gone, Same Boat, and Lou Lou.

When you distill the 13 breathtaking songs on About You down to their essence, you’ll arrive at Albin’s motivation: Storytelling, says the 29-year-old singer-songwriter. That’s what will matter in the long run. If I achieve that, I’m happy. Anyone can sing. First and foremost, Albin considers himself a musical journalist who not only documents what he feels, but also what he sees. But before you discover his gift for weaving emotion, detail and humanity into a unique blend of classic soul and modern pop production, you will hear his voice and be bowled over. Maybe anyone can sing, but as NPR writes, Few singers can command an audience’s attention quite like Albin Lee Meldau. His voice is breathtaking, soulful, thunderous and impossible to ignore.

Indeed, on About You those pipes of his connect a rich history of rhythm and blue Al Green, Van Morrison to contemporary innovators like James Blake, Sam Smith and Hozier. The music does that too, swelling from spare guitar or piano-backed ballads, to Ronson-like mashups of hip-hop beats and sweeping strings, to hands-in-the-air soul-soaked dance-pop. That’s no doubt got a bit to do with Albin’s collaborators: writers like Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith, Disclosure), DJ Khalil (Anderson .Paak), and Neil Ormandy (James Arthur), plus producers Bastian Langebaek (Jessie Ware, Jack Garratt) and Jamie Scott (Rag’n’Bone Man, Ed Sheeran).

But lest you assume such a who’s who would sway a young artist from his mission, consider the fact that the haunting, unadorned song which introduced him to the world in 2015, Lou Lou, is perfectly at home on About You. And that’s where we come back to the storytelling: Just as that tune documents heartache as a woman close to Albin succumbs to madness, its neighboring songs are deeply poignant. They’re little novels about life from a man who’s heartbroken, who’s had his problems, who is weird, says Albin. It’s a breakup record and the start of something else.

The UK buzz for Albin continues to grow with a BBC Radio 2 A-List add for The Weight Is Gone, and following a sold-out London show at Omeara on April 17, Albin will return to the U.S. to support Jessie Ware on her upcoming North American tour, which includes shows in Chicago (Vic Theatre, April 29), Boston (Paradise, May 5), NYC (Brooklyn Steel, May 7-8), Philadelphia (TLA, May 10), and Washington DC (Lincoln Theatre, May 11).

2018 is shaping up to be a breakthrough year for Albin, the son of a Swedish jazz singer mom and a British punk rocker dad who hails from Gothenburg, Sweden. His debut album follows two impressive EPs that have already notched more than 30 million streams on Spotify. Last year he made his debut at SXSW and Bonnaroo, and NPR Music invited him to perform on their popular Tiny Desk Concert series. Albin was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2017 Grammis (Sweden’s Grammy Awards) and won the 2016 Anchor Award, an international competition hosted by the Reeperbahn Festival in Germany that seeks out the best new emerging talent. He was selected by a jury that included producer Tony Visconti (David Bowie) who sang Albin’s praises in presenting him the award: Something is pouring out of his heart and soul when he sings.

BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S AUCTION

A fashion and cinematic icon, Audrey Hepburn was one of the most beautiful women ever to grace a Hollywood screen, and her most famous film was undoubtedly ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.

Thanks to her, the whole concept of the ‘little black dress’ became a thing, and Holly Golightly – the star of the film – became a household name. Now, you can own one of the most enduring images of cinema: an original, full-sized coloured photographer’s proof of Audrey Hepburn from the 1963 film, with Holly wearing that dress and that tiara.

Proceeds from this auction will go to the Help A Life Foundation, which was formed in 2007 with the goal of housing and educating adolescent orphaned girls in Ethiopia, and providing them with a secure and supportive environment.
