Qatar Airways Teams Up With Neiman Marcus

Qatar Airways is pleased to be the official sponsor of the upcoming Neiman Marcus’ The Man’s Store new campaign, “Plan your Escape,” a partnership that celebrates summer travel styles for men.

The award-winning airline and the Dallas-based luxury retailer will feature a program of activities throughout the month of June within select Neiman Marcus stores and online.

Qatar Airways Senior Vice President of the Americas, Eric Odone, said: “We are delighted to take part in this national campaign that celebrates bringing people together via style and travel inspiration. This premier partnership, between two well-known, luxury brands, represents an excellent opportunity for us both to maximize exposure and help bring brand awareness to dynamic new audiences.”

The campaign features DJ and tastemaker Brendan Fallis, who shares an inside look into the ultimate luxury flying experiences, tips on travel and packing, and commentary as he explores the curated collection of casual-cool styles from Neiman Marcus.

Beyond the nationwide campaign, Neiman Marcus and Qatar Airways will have activations in select stores:

  • June 8 & 9, 2019: In-Store activation in Neiman Marcus at Hudson Yards in New York City. During the activation, individuals will have the opportunity to match their travel personality type to a select destination – city, mountains, or beach. An on-site stylist will then style the perfect look for their journey.  In addition, there will be a digital photo booth and postcard, custom skateboard deck, personalized t-shirts, a gentlemen’s facial refresher, and on-site embroidery and more.
  • June 17-July 4, 2019: ‘An Escape Like Never Before’ customized window displays in to share information about the partnership in Neiman Marcus at Hudson Yards and Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills.

A multiple-award-winning airline, Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Business Class’ by the 2018 World Airline Awards, managed by international air transport rating organization Skytrax. It was also named ‘Best Business Class Seat’, ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’, and ‘World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge’.

Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of more than 250 aircraft via its hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA) to more than 160 destinations worldwide. The airline will add a number of new destinations to its extensive route network in 2019, including Rabat, Morocco; Davao, Philippines; Mogadishu, Somalia and Langkawi, Malaysia.

BabyJake releases Debut Single

Singer and songwriter BabyJake releases his debut single “Cigarettes On Patios” today. The Fort Meyers, FL native brings clever song craft on his new track produced by DVLP [Eminem, Lil Wayne] and Shayon Daniels.

Listen to “Cigarettes On Patios”: HERE

BabyJake is the latest music artist to acquire buzz out of Ft. Myers, Florida. After realizing he no longer wanted to pursue college sports, he dropped out to focus on music. In 2016, under his government name, Jake Herring, he self-released an EP titled Little Mess, and followed with a single, “Miami,” which garnered attention online and led him to connect with producers Luyo Mario and DVLP who saw Jake’s true potential for stardom.

He inked a deal with School Boy Records and Republic Records through DVLP’s Transcendent Entertainment imprint after catching the attention of SB Projects with a new name [BabyJake] and a whole new angle to his craft. His debut single “Cigarettes On Patios” is a feel good party cut about living carefree and partying with friends. It’s destined to be the party anthem of the summer, though once the sun sets, BabyJake is geared to mix genres and feelings in a way that’s never been done before. Harnessing his knack for strong songwriting mixed with his love of hip-hop, his music is set to hit hard and you won’t want to miss out.

Kevin Takarada Opens Second MakiMaki

A son of a successful restauranteur, Kevin Takarada hardly saw his father who worked long nights and weekends operating his many restaurants in South Beach Miami, including the first and now oldest sushi bar. Yearning for a different lifestyle, Kevin initially pursued an entirely unrelated career – one that began in Engineering and later involved a decade at a top-level wall street bank.

However, as Kevin remained involved in the family business, the restaurant industry remained close to his heart.  Ever observant of the evolving quick service restaurant scene in Midtown Manhattan, Kevin came to realize that for the many fast-casual lunch options there was an utter lack of quality and affordable sushi.  Kevin saw an opportunity for a new fast-casual restaurant concept that would combine quality sushi, reachable prices and quick service.

Thus, informed by his professional experiences in engineering and finance, Kevin developed a concept of MakiMaki that offered custom-made, high-quality sushi rolls made in a contemporary fast-casual style at reasonable prices.  By re-engineering the entire process of making Japanese sushi rolls and introducing automation, MakiMaki is able to increase productivity, reduce labor costs, improve quality of fish and ultimately make great quality sushi at quick speed and affordable price. The first MakiMaki opened in June 2017.  The second location is slated to open in June 2019.

Mabel Releases Mad Love

This follows the unstoppable success of recent single Don’t Call Me Up which spent 8 weeks in the top 10 (as well as going top 10 globally on Spotify and landing Mabel her first hit around Europe and the US). Off the back of performances on The Graham Norton Show and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Mabel has also been confirmed as the UK’s first ever Youtube Artist On The Rise which was just launched at Piccadilly Circus with a preview of Mad Love. An extensive run of live dates now follows into the end of the year, including Mabel’s UK & European tour with Khalid.

Thrilling, unapologetic and liberated, Mad Love is an anthem for women to call the shots and talk about exactly what (and who) they want. Written by Mabel alongside Steve Mac and Kamille, the winning trio behind Don’t Call Me Up Mad Love arrives alongside an iconic video directed by Marc Klasfeld, who has previously worked with the likes of Cardi B, Destinys Child, and Jay Z. Watch the video here. The video further showcasing this fierce, increasingly-fearless young woman living out all her wildest pop-star-dreams, but in thoroughly modern, warts-and-all style.
It’s this extraordinary journey to where she finds herself now that is encapsulated on Mabel‘s debut album, High Expectations: a record – and a state-of-mind, in many ways – that she has worked towards her whole life (even getting the title tattooed phonetically on her neck when she first thought of it two years ago, knowing firmly that it would never change). At just 23-years-old, the twice-Brit-nominated artist has already sold over 3.5 million singles in the UK (three platinum, three gold, and two silver), surpassed 1 billion streams, and sold out the likes of Brixton Academy. Across her formative singles and first long-form project, Ivy To Roses (which also went silver), Mabel has written with startling candour on young love, identity, girl power, and mental health – topics which are taken to greater heights on High Expectations. And on that road to her first record, Mabel‘s music has become a soundtrack for her impassioned young female fanbase, but also for herself on how to turn those vulnerabilities into your advantages.
“Talking about it really does give you a kind of confidence, Mabel says now, and that’s new for me. If you’re really going to make a record that talks to people you have to sit and pick at old wounds put everything under a microscope. I would’ve loved that from my heroes when I was kid. That dream of pop stars having a perfect life has gone for our generation.
Stripping away music’s artifice while keeping true to its giddiness and excitement is Mabels special gift. Out of some troubling times she has fashioned a sensational, fizzing debut record, a blue-chip British album which can sit proudly on a global stage next to The Weeknd, Ariana, Drake and whatever Queens B and R have in mind for their 2019. In mood, if not exactly in sound, it has some of the complete realisation of early TLC or Aaliyah, had they spent their teenage years in Sweden, Malaga, or the backstreets of West London. The calling card of High Expectations is the brusque, street charm that hides in plain sight among its hooky gloss, and anchors the albumߣs core theme of expectations (those as a woman, of love, of others, and ultimately of yourself.)
“I want to send a positive message to everyone that’s going to listen to it. I’ve gained so much confidence from writing this album and that’s what I want people to take away. Mabel
Now poised to join the pantheon of international pop greats, her tireless energy, positivity and drive were never going to allow Mabel to settle for anything other than High Expectations. In 2019 watch Mabel meet them and keep reaching higher still.

GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer and songwriter Julia Michaels has transformed the pop music landscape not only from behind-the-scenes as one of the most in-demand songwriters, but in the spotlight as a solo artist as well. Her rapid rise can be attributed to identifiable honesty in every lyric, as exemplified in her triple-platinum selling debut single “Issues”.  In 2018, she garnered GRAMMY® Awards nominations in the categories of “Best New Artist” and “Song of the Year” for “Issues,” which amassed nearly 2 billion streams worldwide. Continuing that success, “Issues” notably became “the top-selling debut single by an artist in 2017,” and placed as the only solo female composition on Variety’s “30 Most Consumed Songs of 2017.”

As a songwriter, MICHAELS has co-written 21 titles that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100, eleven of which have hit the Top 40, including “Issues.”  Those songwriting credits include smashes like Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” Selena Gomez’s “Good for You” [feat. A$AP Rocky] & “Hands To Myself,” and Hailee Steinfeld’s “Love Myself.”  She’s also written titles for Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Linkin Park, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, P!NK, Maroon 5, Jessie Ware, Janelle Monae, Keith Urban, Shawn Mendes and more.  The cumulative worldwide stream tally for songs she has co-written is 20 billion to date.
