X Ambassadors – The Beautiful Liar

Today, multi-platinum-selling rock band X Ambassadors released their third studio album The Beautiful Liar. On The Beautiful Liar, X Ambassadors pay homage to the supernatural radio dramas and books-on-tape brothers Sam Nelson Harris and Casey Harris listened to as kids – sharing a selection of songs that together tell the tale of a blind teenage girl discovering her long-dormant superpowers. X Ambassadors augmented the album’s storytelling component by weaving in a series of interludes that propel its wildly original plot forward. Featuring previously released singles “Adrenaline,” “Okay,” and “My Own Monster,” The Beautiful Liar is available now at all digital retailers via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records.

“For the The Beautiful Liar I wanted to make an album that felt as unhinged as I did, and as the whole world felt around me,” says Sam Nelson Harris. “So Adam, Casey and I carved ourselves a space where we could all be as ugly, weird, funny, and fucked up as we wanted to be. We made the whole album unequivocally ours with the help of our incredible producer Andrew Wells, co-producers Tommy English, Ricky Reed, Nate Merceau, songwriters K.Flay and Andrew Jackson. I hope this album freaks you out, makes you cry, makes you laugh, and makes you feel a little less alone.”

Earlier this week QCODE, a premium leading content studio and podcast network, announced that X Ambassadors singer/writer/producer Sam Nelson Harris has co-created a new podcast, The Beautiful Liar, which he will also star in and produce alongside Interscope Records. Schitt’s Creek’s Emily Hampshire will voice the role of “Shadow” and serve as an executive producer on the podcast as well. This superhero origin story will serve as a companion piece to X Ambassadors’ new album of the same name. The first episode will be available on October 20 on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever podcasts are available with new episodes released each Wednesday. Listen to the podcast trailer.

The idea for The Beautiful Liar podcast was first conceived by brothers and bandmates Sam and Casey Harris who wanted to create an audio drama inspired by superhero comic books about a blind character and her superpowers. Structured by co-creator Minnie Schedeen, the story and format is deeply personal to the Harris brothers. Casey has been blind since birth and the two grew up listening to audiobooks and radio dramas together.

Also released today is a music video for the song “Beautiful Liar.” Partnering with Mathematic, a Paris-based VFX, animation and motion design studio, Sam and the band create a comic book-esque video that ties together the worlds of the new album and the new podcast. Watch the video for new song Beautiful Liar.

Tickets are on sale now for the band’s The Beautiful Liar tour which kicks off October 15th in San Diego, CA at HOB, and will hit North America this fall with dates planned for Europe in early 2022. Scarypoolparty and Taylor Janzen will open the show on all North American dates. For a complete list of dates and to purchase tickets visit here.

X Ambassadors Release New Song – Adrenaline

Multi-platinum-selling rock band X Ambassadors share a new song called “Adrenaline.” Released via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records, “Adrenaline” follows last month’s release of “Okay” and the June release of their darkly cinematic track “My Own Monster” whose black-and-white visual finds Harris performing a choreographed routine with his own shadow. All three songs will be featured on the band’s third studio album The Beautiful Liar which is set for release on September 24th. Fans who pre-order the album will receive “Adrenaline,” “Okay” and “My Own Monster” instantly. Watch the pseudo video for “Adrenaline” here.

In the making of the ineffably catchy “Adrenaline” the band set their sights on redefining the parameters of the prototypical arena-rock anthem. “In the past we’ve done songs like ‘Jungle,’ which is a very aggro rock song where I’m shouting the whole time,” says lead singer Sam Nelson Harris, referring to their platinu X Ambassadors Release New Song “Adrenaline” Todaym-certified 2015 hit. “With ‘Adrenaline’ I wanted to see if we could make something that felt just as anthemic, but where I’m whispering for most of the song.”

“Adrenaline,” “Okay” and “My Own Monster” mark the start of a compelling new lyrical direction for X Ambassadors and is the first new music from the band since their hyper-creative multi-part project (Eg). A three-song effort released in early 2021, (Eg) found the band collaborating with a series of similarly forward-thinking artists, including Earl St. Clair, Terrell Hines, and Jensen McRae.

About X Ambassadors
X Ambassadors made their full-length debut with VHS, a 2015 release that saw the band transition from Ithaca alt-rockers and Brooklyn-indie-scene outsiders to Billboard stalwarts. Now certified platinum, VHS provided an intimate look at Sam Nelson Harris and his brother Casey Harris’s youth, delivering the genre-defying hits “Unsteady” and “Renegades” and leading to a three-year global touring odyssey as well as a string of high-profile festival performances. VHS was followed by X Ambassadors’ 2019 sophomore album ORION, which they supported with an extensive headline tour of the U.S.  A project inspired by ’60s and ’70s soul and R&B, the band’s Belong EP arrived in March 2020.

X Ambassadors – My Own Monster

Today, multi-platinum-selling rock band X Ambassadors share their latest single, a darkly cinematic track called “My Own Monster.” Released via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records, “My Own Monster” is a moody psychodrama in the form of a groove-heavy pop song. “My Own Monster” is available now at all digital retailers.

Made with producer Andrew Wells (Young the Giant, Halsey, Fitz and the Tantrums), “My Own Monster” unfolds as a seductive and surreal piece of storytelling, examining themes of alienation, emotional risk, and the desire to break free from pain. “It’s a song about someone who has a voice inside their head,” reveals X Ambassadors lead singer Sam Nelson Harris. “There’s something evil about the voice, but the person is attracted to that and ultimately decides, ‘I’m going to embrace this awful thing, let it be my best friend and let it protect me. What could possibly happen?’” To create the powerful tension that propels “My Own Monster,” X Ambassadors merged the track’s sinister groove with dreamy Mellotron textures and Theremin-like guitar tones specifically selected for their otherworldly effect.

With their highly awaited third album due out later this year, “My Own Monster” marks the start of a compelling new lyrical direction for X Ambassadors.  “My Own Monster” is the first new music from X Ambassadors since their hyper-creative multi-part project (Eg). A three-song effort released in early 2021, (Eg) found the band collaborating with a series of similarly forward-thinking artists, including Earl St. ClairTerrell Hines, and Jensen McRae.

British singer/songwriter Jamie N Commons releases his Fever Dreams EP today, August 9, on KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records.  Commons has released a steady stream of music over the last several months including “Paper Dreams,” “Start Again”, “Won’t Let Go” and most recently “Heartbreak.”  Along with new song “Something That You Know” these five tracks make up Fever Dreams EP.  Fever Dreams EP is available now at all digital retailers.

Today Commons also releases the video for “Heartbreak”.  The clip wasbshot in the U.K. and features actress Olivia Vinall (The Woman In White, Queens of Mystery) driving along the English countryside. Watch the video HERE.

Commons recently partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and advertising agency M/H VCCP for Runaway Train 25, a cross-industry initiative to reinvent the search for missing children in the U.S.  In the 1990s, the original “Runaway Train” video by Soul Asylum, NCMEC and director Tony Kaye featured 36 missing kids. After it aired on MTV, 21 of those missing kids were recovered. Commons, along with Skylar Grey and Gallant, recorded a new version of the award-winning song and shot a new video for the track which has been nominated for an MTV Video Music Award in the Video For Good category. The 2019 VMAs will air live from the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Monday, Aug. 26, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTVWatch the video for  “Runaway Train” here.

Jamie N Commons Release “Heartbreak”

British singer/songwriter Jamie N Commons releases a new song today.  “Heartbreak” was written by Commons and produced by Sam de Jong and is

available now at all digital retailers

“Heartbreak” will be featured on Common’s upcoming Fever Dreams EP which is set for release August 9 on KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records. Listen to the song here.

Commons will perform a headline show at New York City’s Mercury Lounge on July 25before heading out on a five-city trek supporting Kodaline. Tickets are on sale now at www.jamiencommons.com

Commons has released a steady stream of music this year including “Start Again” and “Won’t Let Go” leading up to his EP release next month.   “Start Again,” and “Won’t Let Go” follows the release of “Paper Dreams” which came out last November. All three songs will be included on Fever Dreams EP.  This new music showcases a new direction for the musician that is heavily influenced by 80s pop.  Still evident is Commons’ bluesy-rock sensibility,  as showcased in his previous  releases “Rumble And Sway” and “Lead Me Home”, with a hint of what’s to come.

Born in Bristol in the late 80s and following that with a stint in Chicago, Commons returned to England set on a music career studying at Goldsmiths in London, notorious for its host of luminary alumni.  Commons released The Baron EP in 2011 followed by his KIDinaKORNER/Interscope debut Rumble And Sway EP in 2013 showcasing his whiskey-laced growl.  Commons’ workmanlike approach has been fed further by the work he’s doing for others. Among his successes, he co-wrote the hit “Jungle” for X Ambassadorswith Alex Da Kid and Sam Harris, and toured with the band. He also had a Beats by Dre ad, and was featured on Eminem’s ‘MMLP2’ album. Commons won Music Week’s Sync Artist Of The Year in 2016. This past year Commons composed the music for the summer blockbuster “Skyscraper” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. These experiences opened his ears to a spectrum of genres, making him more interested in the path pop music is taking.

Below is a complete list of upcoming tour dates for Jamie N Commons supporting Kodaline:

X Ambassadors will perform album release shows in five cities (Boston, New York, Toronto, St. Louis and Chicago) where they will showcase new material from ORION plus fan favorites. X Ambassadors‘ debut platinum selling album VHS saw the band transition from Ithaca alt-rockers and Brooklyn indie scene outsiders, to Billboard stalwarts. The album was an intimate insight into Sam Harris and his brother Casey Harris’ youth studded with audio snippets from home movies, and early recording sessions and sound checks. With it, came the genre-defining hits “Unsteady” and “Renegades,” a three-year global touring odyssey and a string of high-profile festival performances. Harris’ songwriting became increasingly personal resulting in the shattering, shimmering 2018 singles “JOYFUL” and “Don’t Stay” followed by a North American headline tour. Always looking to give back to the community that raised them X Ambassadors returned to Ithaca for the second annual Cayuga Sound Festival this past September creating and curating two days of musical performances and raising money for local charities.  In 2019 X Ambassadors released “BOOM,” a quick-fire anthem for emphatic recovery and personal revolutions. The artwork for “BOOM” is written in Braille and designed in a yellow-on-black colorway. For Casey Harris, the band’s keyboardist and Sam Harris’ brother, who was born blind, it is the first physical manifestation of his work that he has been able to experience visually. He has just 10% of his vision.
