Backstreet Boys Get Their Heads Shrunk at The Golden Tiki in Las Vegas

The Backstreet Boys participated in that epic Vegas ritual known as a Golden Tiki Headshrinking, taking part in a semi-secret appearance Sunday afternoon. Around 2 p.m. yesterday (July 27, 2025), Backstreet Boys Nick Carter, Brian Litrell and AJ McLean were greeted at the Chinatown tiki bar by dozens of fans who got word of the event, officially announced only a couple of hours prior, and unveiled heads of all five members. 

The event also included a menu of seven special Backstreet Boys tiki cocktails (and n/a cocktails) which will be available during their residency at the Sphere through Aug. 24.

Custom made in their likenesses, the heads will join a unique collection that includes similar ‘honors’ bestowed upon Vegas luminaries and renowned entertainers including Vince Neil, Sammy Hagar, Pauly Shore, Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston, Playboy Playmate Claire Sinclair, Fighter Randy Couture, Robin Leach, Rod Stewart, Siegfried & Roy, Carrot Top and many more. 

Over 250 similar heads have been created and dedicated since The Golden Tiki opened in 2015. The world famous tiki bar will officially celebrate its tenth anniversary in August.

The nine-course tasting experience, complemented by delicate canapés, embodies the blend of Asia with Nordic-Japanese gastronomy at its finest, featuring dishes such as crustacean tartlets with Thai basil and chawanmushi with awabi, foie gras, matsutake. Coldplay surprised soccer fans during the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup™ Final Halftime Show on Sunday, July 13 performing with Emmanuel Kelly, the world’s first differently abled pop artist, at MetLife Stadium in front of tens of thousands of fans and millions streaming worldwide on DAZN. Sharing the spotlight with J Balvin, Doja Cat, and Tems, Emmanuel and Coldplay delivered a powerful moment in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

The halftime show was curated by Chris Martin (Coldplay) who invited Emmanuel Kelly to sing “A Sky Full of Stars” with him during this special performance, marking the first time a person with a disability has headlined a global event / halftime show.

“Brunch, Ball & Wellness” spotlights Black women’s health, healing, and legacy

As WNBA All-Star Weekend takes over Indianapolis, the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) and Beyond the Game Health will host a powerful and purposeful celebration: the 2025 WNBA Legends Brunch: Brunch, Ball & Wellness.

This private brunch will bring together retired WNBA legends, current players, and wellness leaders for an inspiring morning that honors the women who built the league, while also centering health equity, healing, and Black women’s wellness.

It will be hosted by both the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) and Beyond the Game Health.

Some of the panelists include:

Rushia Brown – Inaugural member of the WNBA, founder of the Women’s Professional Basketball Alumnae Association, Manager of Team and Player Development – Los Vegas Aces
Shamikka Marty, BCPA – Co-Founder of Beyond The Game Health, Motivational Speaker, Healthcare Advocate and Cybersecurity Expert
Nadia E. Miller – Co-founder of Pink4Ever, host of Beyond the Pink Ribbon Radio Show, and a 17-year survivor of breast cancer.

With its infectious, lilting melody and wholesome lyrics of a bygone era, “Pretty Little Baby,” which was never released as a single, has become a viral sensation 63 years after it was first released, with millions of TikTok creators inspired to make videos with the timeless track while showing off their outfits and using it to soundtrack videos of their babies, kids, pets, and more over the past month and a half.

At its peak, “Pretty Little Baby” averaged 600K+ daily creates on TikTok, including posts from celebs and influencers alike, including Kim Kardashian & North West, Kylie Jenner, Brook Monk, Jarred Jermaine, Abbie Herbert, Ariana Greenblatt, Mistermainer, Samara and many more. In the U.S., the song, with a special focus on the lyrics, “You can ask the flowers/I sit for hours/Telling all the bluebirds/The bill and coo birds/Pretty little baby, I’m so in love with you,” hit No. 1 on both TikTok’s Viral 50 and Top 50 charts. Currently it has more than 17 million creates this year totaling over 27 billion views on TikTok alone.

The trending song has crossed over to streaming where it has received more than 30 million streams globally since the song took off last month. “Pretty Little Baby” entered Spotify’s Viral Charts in 65 countries, including the top spot in India, Indonesia, Philippines, Egypt and Morocco and top five in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Singapore, Denmark, Romania and many more.

The song broke into Spotify’s Global and U.S. charts for the first time week of May 10, where it hit No. 67 on the Global Top 100 and peaked at No. 85 on the Global Weekly chart, which it has been on for four consecutive weeks. It is currently No. 5 (peaked at No. 2) on the Global Daily Viral Songs chart. As of the week ending April 10, the song was earning just north of 17,000 official streams a week in the U.S., seven weeks later it has increased more than 20,000% to 4 million a week.

“Pretty Little Baby” was released on Francis’ 1962 album Connie Francis Sings Second Hand Love & Other Hits, which peaked at No. 111 on the Billboard Top LPs chart. The song was released as the B-side to the single “I’m Gonna Be Warm This Winter” in the U.K., Norway, India, Denmark and South Africa, among other countries, owing to her international fame and universal appeal.
